In the present dynamic environment, manufacture are required to reduce product development cycle time and enhance product quality. To meet such challenges many business are developing closer relationships with their business partner through application of interorganisational system. Electronic data interchange (EDI) providing a structured form of communication and has become very popular vehicle for electronic communication. Since the EDI concept was popularised in 1990, there is a growing recognition by practitioners and academics. The aim of this study is to perform an analysis of EDI research, give the current discussion regarding the trends and note the suggestions for the future directions of EDI research in the manufacture. In this paper, we provide a wide coverage of excessively citations on EDI from 1990 to 2017 from good references in this area. The papers are classified into EDI implementation strategy, EDI adoption, EDI integration, EDI in supply chain and EDI in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The study results of this literature review are expected to assist development of EDI research especially the implementation of EDI on production outsourcing as one of supply chain activities.

The paper refers to the issue of applying modern information technologies in the marketing of rural tourism. The results of the SWOT analysis of rural tourism in the border areas are presented in the context of its promotion. The authors describe the origin of a modern marketing tool: the multilingual information interchange platform, Via Gustica. The platform, promoting the border rural areas, is the effect of more than 2-year work of partners from the Lower Silesia and Saxony within the project entitled ‘Tourist promotion of the rural areas along the Polish-German border’, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Short- and long-term effects of the project are also discussed, e.g. benefits that result from creating a partnership network of many entities engaged in the promotion and development of rural areas, as well as widening their co-operation.

Pasażerski transport multimodalny może w przyszłości stanowić efektywny i wydajny sposób przemieszczania się ludności. W polskiej przestrzeni widoczne są inwestycje służące budowie węzłów przesiadkowych w wielu miastach, które umożliwiają wygodne przesiadanie się między różnymi środkami transportu. Ten rodzaj organizacji przewozów może być badany nie tylko w makroskali w przewozach międzyregionalnych, np. w drodze do kurortów nadmorskich i górskich, ale też w skali lokalnej w przypadku przesiadki np. z pociągu na środek transportu miejskiego. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja multimodalnych węzłów przesiadkowych we Wrocławiu, określenie ich lokalizacji, stopnia multimodalności oraz zależności przestrzennych między nimi, co pozwoli wskazać węzły funkcjonujące efektywnie oraz te, wymagające usprawnień. Do wykorzystanych metod należą przede wszystkim obserwacje, analizy sieciowe oraz analizy przestrzenne oparte na autokorelacji przestrzennej. Efektem badań są zarówno charakterystyki najważniejszych węzłów, jak i mapy przedstawiające ich przepustowość. Za węzły multimodalne zostały uznane zespoły przystanków umożliwiających przesiadkę między transportem: lotniczym, kolejowym, autobusowym, tramwajowym i rowerowym oraz autobusami regionalnymi i dalekobieżnymi, a także miejsca umożliwiające zmianę własnego samochodu na inne środki transportu. W końcowej części artykułu zaproponowane zostały rozwiązania usprawniające funkcjonowanie węzłów przesiadkowych we Wrocławiu, z uwzględnieniem spodziewanych inwestycji rozwojowych w zakresie transportu publicznego.
Multimodal passenger transport may, in the future, be an effective way of traveling. In the Polish space, there are visible investments in the construction multimodal interchanges in many cities which enable comfortable change between various means of transport. This type of transport organization can be tested not only on a macroscale in interregional transport, for example on the way to seaside and mountain resorts, but also on |a local scale, for example a change from a train to urban transport. The aim of this article is to identify multimodal interchanges in Wrocław, to determine their location, the degree of multimodality and spatial dependencies between them, which will allow to identify effective nodes and those which require improvement. The methods include, first of all, observations, network analyzes and spatial analyzes based on spatial autocorrelation. The results of the research are both the characteristics of the most important interchange and maps showing their capacity as far as travelling around Wrocław is concerned. As multimodal nodes, the author classified groups of stops enabling a change between air, rail, bus, tram and bicycle transport as well as regional and long-distance buses and changing private car to another way of transport. In the final part of the article proposed investments were presented to improve the functioning of multimodal interchanges in Wrocław, taking into account the expected investments in the development of public transport.

In the assembly industry, almost all components are outsourced or transferred to other parties, in order to meet the need for supply. This is referred as outsourcing of production. The outsourcing of assembly product components is based on a relationship model between the contractor and the industry. However, there is no relationship or communication pattern between the contractor or supplier and the assembler. Hence, in order to accelerate line production and overcome problems with assembly components, the communication path is shortened by providing a direct communication channel between the assembler and the supplier or contractor, in order to communicate any problems that arise during the assembly process by internal communication within the industry. The purpose of this study is the design and development of a web-based software application electronic data interchange (EDI) that can be used as a tool for communication between the assembler and supplier. The EDI application provides formal communication between the assembly industry and the contractor providing the components or parts needed in the assembly process. The main purpose of using EDI technology is to help the assembler to communicate the relevant documents to suppliers quickly, accurately and efficiently. The documents to be communicated are in the form of reports or claims, and are related to non-conformities, errors and component difficulties arising during the assembly process. This research novelty is providing direct communication between assembly and supplier by using EDI application that can give contribution in manufacturing area so it can accelerate the line production in assembly.

The purpose of this study is to discuss how "Chinese-style" clothing is integrated into the international fashion market by applying traditional Chinese clothing design elements in the context of globalization. This research defined four design elements of traditional Chinese clothing through literature analysis, which mainly consisted of colors, silhouettes, fabrics and crafts. Then professional researchers selected four representative enterprises oriented to the international market from a large quantity of "Chinese-style" enterprises and compared the design works officially released by the four "Chinese-style" enterprises with the four design elements by Nvivo12. Through analyzing 1,176 pieces of Chinese-style design works of the four representative enterprises, the study found that "Chinese-style" enterprises oriented to the international market comprehensively apply traditional Chinese clothing design elements to conduct innovative design to show their own cultural identities to a large extent.

Accurate design of infrastructure for public transport is the basis for the efficient functioning of traffic and passenger transportation. The article presents an analysis of the availability of public transport stops. The measure of the availability relates to access times to certain stops from other stops and the surroundings of the transport hub. The article discusses the scope and the objective of measuring pedestrian and passenger traffic. It also presents an analysis of transition times for the passengers who change their means of transport and need to reach a stop. The provided measurements were carried out on a two-level interchange tram-bus hub. Thus they should be part of any assessment of the quality of passenger service in the hub.

Małe miasta w strukturze aglomeracyjnej prezentują duże związki z miastem centralnym, generując wzmożony ruch drogowy. W artykule przedstawiono możliwości zlokalizowania parkingu P & R przy dworcu kolejowym w Siechnicach w celu odciążenia sieci drogowej. Dokonano następnie oceny tej lokalizacji za pomocą autorskiego modelu wnioskowania rozmytego. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na możliwości pełnienia przez Siechnice roli węzła przesiadkowego po poprawie jakości komunikacji szynowej.  
Small towns in the agglomeration structure have large connections with the central city, generating increased traffic. The paper presents the possibilities of locating a P & R car park at the railway station in Siechnice to relieve the road network. This location was then evaluated using the author’s fuzzy inference model. The obtained results indicate that Siechnice can play the role of an interchange after improving the quality of rail public transport.

The aim of the article is to present the functioning model of the interchange fee and its regulatory reduction process as well as to assess the preliminary impact of this reduction on the Polish card market. The research showed a significant acceleration in the development of POS terminals network and a faster increase in the value of cashless transactions. Furthermore, there has been no significant increase in the fees for customers. Contrary to fears, the regulation has not hampered innovation in the Polish banking sector, but rather has contributed to the development of new payment solutions, including mobile payments. However, in order to assess the full effects of the regulation, a long-term perspective should be applied.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie mechanizmu funkcjonowania opłaty interchange i procesu jej regulacyjnego obniżenia oraz dokonanie oceny jego pierwszych skutków dla rynku kart płatniczych w Polsce. Przeprowadzone badania wykazały, że doszło do znaczącego przyspieszenia rozwoju sieci terminali POS akceptujących karty i jednocześnie szybszego wzrostu wartości transakcji bezgotówkowych z użyciem tego instrumentu. Nie zaobserwowano także znaczącego wzrostu opłat dla klientów. Wbrew obawom regulacja ta nie doprowadziła do zahamowania innowacyjności polskiego sektora bankowego, a raczej przyczyniła się do poszukiwania i rozwoju nowych technologii płatniczych, w tym płatności mobilnych. Pełne rezultaty procesu regulacji będą jednak możliwe do oceny w dłuższej perspektywie czasowej.

The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of new technologies on supply chain management in the Armed Forces. The supply chain is not limited to the operations related to the physical movement of goods, but also includes the management of relations with suppliers and customers. However, the supply chain management, through the integration and coordination of both information and goods flow, is a main factor of the well-developed customer service. The changes in military logistics imposed the necessity of implementation of the modern information technologies in the Polish Armed Forces. The Polish Army has adopted the Integrated Multi-level Information System of the Ministry of Defense (ZWSI RON). The article describes various technologies used in supply chain management including information, communication and automatic identification technologies. The author emphasizes that modern technologies are essential to enhance supply chain competitiveness and performance by improving the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the logistic system. Moreover, implementing of various innovative technologies shortens the time required for the fulfillment of tasks as well as reduces their labor consumption.

Opis:
Contemporary development and the range of application as well as effectiveness of telematics solutions depend, to a larger extent, on creative implementations of the latest solutions and concepts related to the exchange of data. This article raises an issue of information interchange in business in view of changes generating on one hand new needs and on the other new possibilities. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is still a basic concept in this area, based on EDIFACT (technical aspect in ISO 9735 norm) and created in 80s of 20th century, it satisfies contemporary needs to a lesser extent. Nowadays, there is a trend towards devising modern communication solutions which can be easily modified and operate in the “cloud” in its broad sense. These modern concepts constitute a basis for a wider usage of telematics solutions in the economy and everyday life. This article makes an attempt to identify and holistically grasp determinants of such solutions. This elaboration aims to compare a traditional and a new approach to data interchange as well as to show trends and new development directions affecting the development of telematics solutions.

The article sets out to assess the development of Poland’s network of automated teller machines (ATMs) after a series of reductions in ATM interchange fees in the Visa and MasterCard systems in 2010. The author aims to determine how these reductions have influenced the development of the country’s cash dispenser network and analyzes whether or not ATM owners should be allowed to impose special surcharges on cash withdrawals under law. Moreover, based on empirical research conducted in 2010 and 2009, the author estimates the savings for consumers and banks resulting from the use of ATMs. Thanks to cash dispensers, consumers save time, while banks and the economy as a whole save money, Górka notes. The research makes use of foreign market experience, especially that gained in the United States, and of theoretical models developed in various research reports. The specific features of the Polish market are also taken into account. The author outlines the advantages and disadvantages of ATM surcharges, pointing out that, under the current economic conditions in Poland, following the interchange fee reductions, passing laws regulating the permissibility of surcharges would be beneficial to the development of the country’s ATM network, especially in rural areas and small towns. The development of the ATM network benefits both consumers and banks, the author says. Poland is a country in which cash payments continue to dominate and consumers need to have access to banknotes and coins, while cash dispensers are a relatively cheap channel of distributing cash, Górka says. Based on macroeconomic data for 2009, the author estimates that Polish consumers saved 22.4 million hours that year by withdrawing cash in ATMs instead of at bank branches, which means that the average consumer and bank product user saved 1 hour. The total cost savings of the Polish economy from the use of ATMs stood at 1.63 billion zlotys (about 400 million euros). The estimated cost savings for banks were 1.34 billion zlotys (around 340 million euros), according to Górka. An analysis of the Polish market data shows that the reductions in the interchange fees collected from ATM cash withdrawal transactions have directly led to a sharp decline in the profitability of the ATM business for banks and independent ATM deployers, who have recently been the main driving force behind the development of the ATM network in Poland. In the case of Poland, the possibility of charging special ATM transaction convenience fees does not necessarily mean that such fees will be charged to consumers, while they would help stimulate the market, according to the author. At the moment, interchange fees are low, Górka says, which discourages both banks and independent ATM deployers from investing in the development of the ATM network despite consumer expectations.

This article aims to present the concept of two-sided markets on the example of payment card systems, which have attracted the attention of regulatory and antitrust authorities in recent years. First, the paper offers a few insights into the basic economic theory behind two-sided markets. Second, it presents a brief description of payment card systems and their features. The following analysis focuses on arguments that speak in favour of a regulatory or antitrust intervention into payment card systems. Finally, some of the potential problems that antitrust authorities must face when assessing two-sided markets are presented on the basis of an assessment of the decisional practice of the UOKiK President and the European Commission.

Punktem wyjścia rozważań są wymagania poprawy funkcjonalności węzła przesiadkowego w naziemnym miejskim transporcie publicznym (integrującego tramwaje, autobusy, ewentualnie trolejbusy). Poprawa funkcjonalności ma tu dotyczyć przede wszystkim zwiększenia przepustowości węzła (umożliwienia obsługi większej liczby kursów/ pojazdów) i ograniczenia strat czasu poprzez redukcję zatrzymań i nieuzasadnionych postojów, przy zachowaniu jego zwartości i wygody podróżnych. Ta część artykułu bazuje na analizie funkcjonujących węzłów oraz publikacji ich dotyczących (w tym autorskich). Sformułowane są zalecenia odnośnie pożądanej formy węzła (jako rozwiązanie docelowe). Wskazuje się także możliwe kierunki i sposoby przekształceń istniejących obiektów. Jednym z zaleceń jest uproszczenie liczby relacji w ramach węzła, co ma wpływ na planowanie całej sieci transportu publicznego w skali miasta czy nawet aglomeracji. Dotyczy to układu linii, liczby kursów, lokalizacji i rozplanowania węzłów itp. Te aspekty wpływu zmian formy poszczególnych węzłów na planowanie i modelowanie przewozów w całej sieci są główną częścią artykułu. W artykule przedstawiono uwagi ogólne oraz przykład konkretnych przekształceń wybranego węzła we Wrocławiu. Celem proponowanych działań (rozwiązań) jest umożliwienie zwiększenia liczby połączeń w sieci, redukcja strat czasu i, w konsekwencji, pozyskanie większej liczby pasażerów (zmiany w podziale zadań przewozowych). W końcowej części artykułu zainicjowana jest dyskusja nad tym, jak wyżej opisane uwarunkowania można uwzględnić w modelowaniu podróży.
The requirements to improve the functionality of the interchange node in above-ground urban public transport (integrating trams, buses or trolleybuses) are the starting point for the considerations. The improvement of functionality is to be mainly related to increasing the capacity of the node (enabling the servicing of a larger number of courses / vehicles) and limiting delays by reducing detentions and unjustified stops, while maintaining its compactness and convenience for travelers. This part of the article is based on the analysis of functioning nodes and publications regarding them (including author’s). Recommendations are formulated regarding the desired form of the node (as a target solution). The possible directions and ways of transforming existing objects are also indicated. One of the recommendations is to simplify the number of relations within the node, which affects the planning of the entire public transport network in the scale of the city or even the agglomeration. This applies to the layout of the line, the number of courses, the location and layout of nodes, etc. These aspects of the impact of changing the form of individual nodes on planning and modeling of transport throughout the network are the main part of the article. General comments and an example of specific transformations of the selected node in Wrocław are presented. The goal of the proposed activities (solutions) is to enable an increase in the number of connections in the network, reduction of delays and, as a consequence, acquisition of a larger number of passengers (changes in the modal split). The discussion on how the conditions described above can be taken into account in travel modeling is initiated in the final part of the article.

Opis:
W opinii pasażerów konieczność przesiadania się jest związana z dłuższym urwaniem podróży oraz utrudnieniami związanymi ze zmianą środka transportu. Niestety nie jest możliwe bezpośrednie połączenie wszystkich ważnych źródeł i celów podróży. Dodatkowo rola przesiadki zwiększa się w dobie wzrastającej ruchliwości i intermodalności podróży. Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na bezpieczeństwo komunikacyjne pasażerów transportu publicznego w specyficznym miejscu, jakim jest węzeł przesiadkowy. Skrótowo przedstawiono miejsce bezpieczeństwa w ocenie jakości podróży. Omówiono dwie metody wielokryterialnej całościowej oceny węzłów przesiadkowych, w których autorzy umiejscowili parametry wpływające na bezpieczeństwo komunikacyjne i osobiste. Szeroko zostały omówione kryteria oceny bezpieczeństwa komunikacyjnego, uszeregowane w czterech grupach kryteriów: funkcjonalne, strukturalne, realizacyjno-ekonomiczne i czytelności. Parametryzacja oceny pewnych kryteriów powsta w oparciu o inwentaryzację kilkunastu węzłów miejskiego transportu publicznego. Dodatkowo przedstawiono wagi dla omawianych kryteriów oceny. Ocena bezpieczeństwa sporządzona na kilku węzłach przesiadkowych pozwala sformułować wnioski dotyczące kształtowania tej części infrastruktury transportowej. Kształtowanie bezpieczeństwa, komfortu, czasu i innych składników podróży odbywa się równocześnie. Pamiętajmy, że poprawijąc pewne parametry, równocześnie poprawiamy lub pogarszamy inne.
In the opinion of passengers necessity to change is connected to longer duration of the journey and difficulties related to the change of the transport mean. Unfortunately direct connection between all important beginnings and destinations is not possible. Additionally, the importance of the change grows in times of rising mobility and transport intermodality. The aim of the article is to focus on safety in the transport hub. The importance of safety in the transport quality assessment has been presented as well. Two methods of multi-criteria assessment of the transport hubs with the special attention to the parameters influencing transport and personal safety have been discussed. Criteria of transport safety assessment, ranked in four groups: in relation to function, structure, execution-economy and legibility, have been widely presented. Parameterization of assessment of some criteria's has been created on the basis of taking inventory dozen or so hubs of urban public transport. In addition weight to described criteria's of assessment has been discussed. Evaluation of safety made in few transfer hubs allows formulating conclusions related to shaping this element of transport infrastructure. Shaping safety, comfort, time or other elements of the journey is happening simultaneously. Let's remember: improving some parameters at the same time we are improving or making others worse.
