Opis:
In this paper, the analysis of sudden water phase change during high-temperature metal body dipping is presented. According to that purpose, the computational fluid dynamic analysis has been carried out. The nonstationarity and behavior of sudden water phase change has been examined. The calculation model consists of the solid domain (vessel and high-temperature metal) and fluid domain (liquid filling vessel). The metal body insertion to the fluid domain was obtained by the use of dynamic mesh. Special case of the dipping velocity, the metal body of temperature 723 K and fluid temperature 288 K. was examined. Moving on to calculations, the model containing basic conservation equation, expanded of turbulence and liquid evaporation equations has been used.

Opis:
The structural and elastic properties of NbN₂ at high pressures were investigated through the first-principles calculation. Results indicate that NbN₂ is a potential hard material. NbN₂ meets mechanical stability criteria and possesses ductility within the pressure of 100 GPa. The elastic anisotropy under high pressure was achieved by the elastic anisotropy factors, which reduce with increasing pressure. Using the quasi-harmonic Debye model, we also investigated the thermodynamic properties of NbN₂.

Opis:
High-temperature sorption of corrosion products from primary cooling circuit is an effective method for radiation reduction in pressurize and boiling reactor plants. We have developed a suitable high temperature resistant adsorbent by impregnating a porous stainless steel membrane with titanium oxide. The adsorption studies of corrosion products in soluble and insoluble forms indicate that the stainless steel membrane impregnated with TiO2 combines high affinity of TiO2 for transition metal cations with a high mechanical stability of the porous steel membrane under high-temperature and highpressure conditions.

The paper reviews the problems related to BOX high-temperature instability in SOI structures and MOSFETs. The methods of bias-temperature research applied to SOI structures and SOI MOSFETs are analysed and the results of combined electrical studies of ZMR, and SIMOX SOI structures are presented. The studies are focused mainly on electrical discharging processes in the BOX at high temperature and its link with new instability phenomena such as high-temperature kink effects in SOI MOSFETs.

In this study, high performance magnesium-yttria nanocomposite’s room temperature, strength and ductility were significantly enhanced by the dispersion of nano-sized nickel particles using powder blending and a microwave sintering process. The strengthening effect of the dispersed nano-sized nickel particles was consistent up to 100°C and then it gradually diminished with further increases in the test temperature. The ductility of the magnesium-yttria nanocomposite remained unaffected by the dispersed nano-sized nickel particles up to 100°C. Impressively, it was enhanced at 150°C and above, leading to the possibility of the near net shape fabrication of the nanocomposite at a significantly low temperature.

In order to improve the high-temperature oxidation stability, a study of 434L sintered stainless steel was focused on the effect of addition of metallic oxides to form stable oxide film on the inner particle surface. In this paper, oxidation behavior of 434L compacted parts in accordance with the addition of metallic oxides were discussed with high temperature oxidative reaction, and sintering behavior analysis under 950°C. Oxidation weight gains of 434 L have increased as a form of parabolic laws. The hightemperature oxidation resistance was improved by the mixed addition of amorphous SiO2 and silica up to 2wt.%. The oxidation rate was decreased and kept constant after 60 hours. It was caused by the restraint succeeding oxidation due to the stable oxide formation of Cr2SiO4 phases on the particle surface to prevent densification and inhibition the external diffusion of Cr. High-temperature stability was confirmed by the electrical resistivity maintains the constant value of 1.3×10-2 Ω ·cm when the silica added less than 2w/o to 1w/o A-SiO2 added 434L.

Austenitic AISI 304, 316L and ferritic 430 stainless steels were implanted with yttrium to fluences ranging between 1 x 1015 and 5 x 1017 ions/cm2. The samples were subjected to oxidation in air at a temperature of 1000 centigrade for a period of 100 h and next examined by stereoscopic optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX) and Rutherford back scattering spectrometry (RBS). The results obtained with the use of ion implantation are discussed.
