To investigate the existence of higher-order intermodal entanglement, higher-order single-mode antibunching, higher-order intermodal antibunching and spin squeezing, a first order analytic operator solution of the Hamiltonian of quadratically-coupled optomechanical system is constructed using short time approximation for different field modes. Temporal variations of these nonclassical properties under different coupling strengths are studied, neglecting the effect of optical losses, environmental effects and also dissipation. With an increasing order number, the depth of these nonclassical properties is increased. Spin squeezed states are observed in any direction, i.e., either in Sx or Sy direction.

Opis:
To explore the boundary between quantum and classical physics in the context of quantum entanglement, the particle localization via measurement induced entanglement on photons incident onto a distinguishable, massive non-interacting two-particle system was studied. The specific case of how particles acquire well defined spatial localization when light is scattered off and detected was considered. The localization process studied both qualitatively and quantitatively was observed to be valid for particles which were initially localized as well as initially completely delocalized. The localization scheme was also observed to be extremely sensitive to its initial conditions. Furthermore, a difference in the localization scheme in terms of the number of scattering events was observed between monochromatic photons and photons with variable frequencies. From all these results it was apparent that we can interpret the uniquely quantum features of entanglement in terms of classicality.

The article contains reflections on “a different theory of literature”. By emphasising the impossibility of maintaining a vision of theory as a history of courses, research methods, academic disciplines and other ‘isms’ and ‘turns’, the author suggests replacing this with ‘a different theory’. This is ‘different’ in that it is written as dramatography; different because it does not comprise uniform subject matter, but various interwoven discourses; different because it consolidates individual experiences and frequently develops away from one concept. This issue of “Przestrzenie Teorii” deals with theory emerging from art, theory rooted in and rooting itself in art.

The relation between quantum physics and higher brain functions, including the consciousness, is in recent years a top subject of deep discussions from a scientific, philosophical, psychological and existential point of view. Reality is in continuous motion, life is continuously becoming, a movement of propagating energy waves. The quantum revolution undermined the solid nature of reality, opening the door to the primary role of mind, and proposing scenarios with unexpected features. In this paper interesting aspects of quantum physics are considered, with inevitable repercussions on our lives, which can decisively influence our actions and future. These findings underline the importance of building a cognitive resilience with mindfulness training, for improving the ability to regulate emotions, attention to the true surrounding reality, mood and well-being in life.

This paper proposes a relational history of media artifacts, which decentralizes the dominance of the photographer or filmmaker as the absolute author of the work. It adds an alternative account to understanding the creative process and the subsequent study of media forms by discussing film and photographic practices as the reciprocal affective relationship between the maker, their intentions, materials, technologies, non-human agents and the environment. By reorganizing the anthropocentrism of art historical narratives, which typically exclude corporeality and materiality as drivers of human history, we are able to discuss the complex dynamic meshwork of determinants that bring photographic artifacts into existence: the lived, animate, vital materialism at once emergent and mixing of different causalities and temporalities. Within this position, I will provoke discussions of cognition and photography by recalibrating the moment of acting to a model that recognizes a distributed nature of human action into the material world of things. This new materialist position has repercussions for the way we understand processes of creativity and the emergence of media artifacts-seeing these as always already entangled and enmeshed across various corporeal and material, platforms and scales. This paper uses photography as a case study to discuss the broader theme of co-creation between humans, machines and the environment. Using documentary evidence from the archive, I sustain this argument by making a close reading of a particular photographer’s contact sheet, which shows up some of the dynamics of the relational meshwork playing upon the photographer in the field. Through this reading we can begin to think about the implications for the way we understand the emerging aesthetic discourse of technological photographic practices and, more broadly, the cocreative domains of all human activity.

This research focused on correlations between the macroscopic mechanical performance and microstructures of energetic binders. Initially a series of glycidyl azide polymer (GAP)/toluene diisocyanate (TDI) binders, catalyzed by a mixture of dibutyltin dilaurate (DBTDL) and triphenyl bismuth (TPB), was prepared. Uniaxial tensile testing, and low-field nuclear magnetic resonance and infrared spectroscopy were then used to investigate the mechanical properties, curing networks, and hydrogen bonding (H-bonds) of these binders. Additionally, a novel method based on the molecular theory of elasticity and the statistical theory of rubber elasticity was used to analyze the integrity of the networks. The results showed that the curing parameter R strongly influences the mechanical properties and toughness of the binders, and that a tensile stress (σm) of 1.6 MPa and an elongation (εm) of 1041% was observed with an R value of 1.6. The cross-linking density increased sharply with the curing parameter, but only modestly with an R value ≥ 1.8. The proportion of H-bonds formed by the imino groups increased with the R value and reached 72.61% at an R value of 1.6, indicating a positive correlation between the H-bonds and σm. Molecular entanglement was demonstrated to increase with R and to contribute dramatically to the mechanical performance. The integrity of these networks, evaluated by a correction factor (A), varies with R, and a network of the GAP/TDI binder with an R value of 1.6 is desirable.

In this paper we consider the creation of living matter by a new appeared model of consciousness, named B-DS model, connected to the theories of unification of contemporary physics. In particular we deal with energies of subgroups SU(5), SU(6) and U(1) of SU(11) as superset of SU(5) ´ SU(6) ´ U(1). This is important in view of the potential importance of quantum effects in biology and in consciousness, where not only systems of known particles are considered, but we hypothesize new ones deriving by SU(6) and the significant effect of entanglement. We consider the human brain and its mental aspects as associated with classical brain physiology and also part of a quantum physical universe. We think that quantum mechanics can be relevant for explaining life and consciousness beyond the basic structure and interaction of matter atoms formed by the energy group of SU(5). For explaining biological systems we need to go beyond the present standard model of physics, i.e. starting by the energy group SU(11) instead of SU(5), considering then new unknown particles, tightly binding from the forces created by bosons of the latent energy group SU(6). The paper deals also with interesting information related to chemistry and quantum biology, as well as models related to life and brain working mechanism.

The subject of this paper is the analysis of Hilary Putnam’s thesis on the fact/value entanglement along with some of his arguments meant to corroborate this stance. One of his main objectives of putting forward this thesis is reconciliation of science and values, bringing an end to the picture of the former as a ‘value-free zone’. While Putnam’s polemics with standpoints conflicted with his own one are carried out in quite a comprehensive way, the way he formulates some of his constructive arguments meant to augment his own stance are a bit enigmatic. The goal of this paper is to clarify some of them. The first part of this paper briefly outlines Putnam’s arguments aiming to undermine the fact/value dichotomy, which is contradictory to the thesis title. The second one is focused on the issue of so called ‘thick concepts’, which might be considered as counterexamples for the aforementioned dichotomy, and the thesis, correlated with the title one, that description and evaluation are interdependent.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza tezy Hilarego Putnama o splątaniu faktów i wartości wraz z wybranymi argumentami, jakie filozof ten formułuje gwoli jej wsparcia.

Macroscopic displays of entanglement can be observed experimentally as excess correlations between specific manipulations of clusters of matter that have shared space-time. It has been hypothesized that brains as well as other biological systems express signal processing capacities characteristic of non-locality. In the present experiment, transverse sections of fixed human brains were stimulated with a variety of low frequency, low voltage (2 μV) applications of electrical current. Microvolt fluctuations from which spectral profiles could be inferred were simultaneously recorded within transverse (horizontal) sections that were either from the same (matched) or different (non-matched) brain origins. Only the 7 Hz spike-train stimulation produced enhanced theta (4 Hz – 7.5 Hz) activity within the matched brain halves. This was not measured for the non-matched halves. The most conspicuous loci which displayed excess correlation were the internal capsules and insular cortices. Cingulate and frontal cortices did not display similar features. The right hemisphere displayed the most powerful theta profiles for matched sections only. These results suggest that brain sections of common origin are functionally responsive to stimulation at a distance in ways unobserved in brain sections of non-common origin.

Support for Mach’s principle of the Prominence or the Immanence of the Universe which states that the behavior of any part of the Cosmos is determined by all of its parts requires quantitative convergence from the appropriate combination of universal parameters. Applications of recent calculations based upon a diffusivity with a real value (~1023 m•s-1) revealed solutions that are consistent with the concept of dragging inertial frames and geodetic (Lense-Thirring) precession. The latency for non-local entanglement around the earth is similar to frame dragging as measured by Ciufolini. The independent solution for this real value to capture Mach’s “whole universe” requires the contribution from quantum-level Zero Point Fluctuations. Consideration of this value for solar-terrestrial distances could explain the non-local “gravitational” effects upon biological reactions that appear to precede electromagnetic effects. The verification of the “entanglement latency” by independent methods could produce the validation for Mach’s principle.

In a series of quantum experiments performed in 1935-1986 a validity of the quantum theory has been tested. The results obtained have changed the viewpoints of physicists and philosophers on the nature of the Universe and physical reality. In particular, they have changed the traditional West view on the relationship between micro- and macro-level, between a part and the wholeness and between the system and its constituents. From the distinguishing quantum experiments a brief description of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox, the Bell’s inequality and the Aspect-Dalibard-Roger experiment is made. The results obtained are important for the concept of the bioplasmatic transfer of information in the living systems, developed by Włodzimierz Sedlak. According to the Sedlak’s idea, the bioplasma is a local concept, so it does not take into account the possibility of a faster then light signaling. Because in the living systems the long-range quantum correlations should appear, the concept of bioplasma should be generalized to include the non-local quantum effects. As a consequence – such a dynamic quantum system as bioplasma has to be non-local – all its elements are connected because of quantum correlations, regardless of the distance between them. A model of the biocoherence for the systems described by the Gompertz function is presented. In this approach, the Gompertz function is a solution of the space-like (tachyonic) Horodecki-Feinberg equation with the time-analog of the Morse potential function. It is shown that Gompertzian systems evolve coherently and non-locally in the space. The presented model admits a continuous and instantaneous transfer of “influences” between micro-level represented by the single cell and the macro-level represented by the biosystem (tissue, organ, organism) as a whole. A consequence is the integration of organism and its coherent development on all levels of the bio-existence.

Opis:
Although the gravitational energy within the distance of the radius of a singularity for a current estimated mass of the universe is equal to ~1069 Joules, congruent solutions for different ages of the universe reflect changes by a factor of π or 8π for identities. The total energy value is equal to the product of primary constants G·μ·ε·ħ·σ·c2 (which results in power, W) when divided by the area of smallest unit of space (area of a circle with a radius of Planck’s Length) and then multiplied by the universe’s current surface area and age. The conspicuous discrepancies of ~2∙103 between the predicted average magnetic intensity within the universe from that total energy and contemporary measurements can be accommodated by the quantitative product of 21.3π4 derived from the classic four-dimensional metric. The equivalent electric field potential divided by the predicted magnetic intensity results in a velocity that has been suggested to reflect the latency for excess correlations to occur across the universe. The most parsimonious explanation for these results is that a large component of the magnetic manifestation of energy in the universe is recondite or occluded within its submatter spatial structure and that the required cohesion or “diffusivity” throughout the volume involves the electric field component. These quantifications may facilitate understanding of Mach’s principle that any part of the universe is influenced by all of its parts.

Opis:
This essay presents a posthumanist reading of Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus, two plays which feature a scientist/magus who attempts to control his environment through personal agency. After detailing the analogy between the agency of posthuman figures and the workings of computerized writing machines, as Katherine Hayles has proposed, my essay shows how Kott’s writing, especially his notion of the “Grand Mechanism” of history, anticipates the posthumanist theories that are currently dominating literary assessments. His critique of The Tempest makes this idea perfectly clear when he disputes the standard notion that Prospero represents a medieval magus; he instead argues that Prospero was more akin to Leonardo DaVinci, “a master of mechanics and hydraulics,” one who would have embraced revolutionary advances in “astronomy” as well as “anatomy” (1974: 321).

Opis:
The population, molecular and submolecular (quantum) levels of oncogenesis are considered. The quantum description takes into account the nonlocal Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlations, interactions at-the-distance, quantum entanglement and macroscopic quantum coherence. In this approach, cancerogenesis is initiated by destruction of the quantum entanglement of the DNA molecules due to mutation, which leads to appearance of an oncogen and a local decoherence of the organism. In the genetic approach a cancer is the gene disease, whereas in the quantum approach — a disease of the living system. On the basis of the Humphreys criteria, an attempt of the ontological classification of bio- and ontogenesis is made. Those phenomena can be considered in terms of the coherent, synchronic and holistic emergence.

Opis:
Life is considered to be quantitative phenomena based upon principles derived from Astronomy, Physics, and Chemistry. The mass equivalence of the total energy from the Sun that occurred over the terrestrial surface from 3.5 billions ago to present is within the range of empirical estimations for the total biomass on the Earth. If the mass of living systems is the converted photon energy integrated over time then the ubiquitous emissions of photons in the order of picoWatts per square meter may not be a metabolic artifact but a reflection of the matter’s origin. Quantification demonstrates this magnitude of photon flux density is an expected dissipation from the photon-mass conversion that defines living systems. Because all energy, particularly photons, within Life on this planet originated from the Sun their maintenance as Popp (virtual) photons creates the conditions for non-local effects between solar activity and Life. The occurrence of entanglement between solar-terrestrial photons could alter the models, mechanisms, and attributions for the persistent and multiple correlations between solar activity and the phenomena measured within various levels of discourse from physical chemistry to large groups of organisms.

Opis:
The paper contains a simple introduction to the Bell’s inequality which is important in understanding the nature of elementary particles. The inequality was derived under “reasonable” assumption of realism and locality and is not satisfied in the quantum world of particles. It means that the above assumption does not necessarily belong to the quantum world paradigm.

Opis:
Pupils spend a large part of their lives at school, where most of their time is filled by teachers. The quality of this time depends also on the teachers’ approach to educational issues, their sense of agency, responsibility and commitment. In conducting a phenomenographic study of teachers’ epistemological beliefs, I asked teachers questions not only about issues directly related to epistemology, but also about how they perceived their role and what impact they saw as having on students’ learning process. The collected answers revealed varied teacher profiles, which I grouped into 8 distinct conceptions of teacher’s roles, out of which I selected 4 categories in which different forms of oppression were manifested. The described roles, or rather the activities which those roles manifest in, enable us to understand the context of oppressiveness. The main sources of potential oppressiveness seems to lie in teachers’ different attitudes to basic educational concepts, including, above all, the transfer of knowledge and their entanglement in the educational system, i.e. their sense of the system’s influence on the performance of their work performance.

Opis:
The work is a frame study of heroism, which manifests itself in particular living people and in mythological characters, heroes concerned for welfare, beauty and truth in everyday struggles. It presents the fates of the mythical benefactors of humanity as well as humans absorbed by efforts for their spiritual salvation. The background of the stated problem concerning the entanglement of the hero into myth is “the philosophical disenfranchisement of art". This issue is a specific basis for the presenting of the figure of fined for his noble intentions Prometheus from the painting by Rubens. Referring to the heroism of the people, we can see that it is also not free of sacrifices. It turns out that there is no turning back from the destination, which is the life of every human according to his own conviction. However, only the awareness of the entanglement into myth and the practice of one’s personal religious belief in spiritual liberation can bring the expected relief in the form of true grace.
