To investigate the existence of higher-order intermodal entanglement, higher-order single-mode antibunching, higher-order intermodal antibunching and spin squeezing, a first order analytic operator solution of the Hamiltonian of quadratically-coupled optomechanical system is constructed using short time approximation for different field modes. Temporal variations of these nonclassical properties under different coupling strengths are studied, neglecting the effect of optical losses, environmental effects and also dissipation. With an increasing order number, the depth of these nonclassical properties is increased. Spin squeezed states are observed in any direction, i.e., either in Sx or Sy direction.

Opis:
To explore the boundary between quantum and classical physics in the context of quantum entanglement, the particle localization via measurement induced entanglement on photons incident onto a distinguishable, massive non-interacting two-particle system was studied. The specific case of how particles acquire well defined spatial localization when light is scattered off and detected was considered. The localization process studied both qualitatively and quantitatively was observed to be valid for particles which were initially localized as well as initially completely delocalized. The localization scheme was also observed to be extremely sensitive to its initial conditions. Furthermore, a difference in the localization scheme in terms of the number of scattering events was observed between monochromatic photons and photons with variable frequencies. From all these results it was apparent that we can interpret the uniquely quantum features of entanglement in terms of classicality.

The article contains reflections on “a different theory of literature”. By emphasising the impossibility of maintaining a vision of theory as a history of courses, research methods, academic disciplines and other ‘isms’ and ‘turns’, the author suggests replacing this with ‘a different theory’. This is ‘different’ in that it is written as dramatography; different because it does not comprise uniform subject matter, but various interwoven discourses; different because it consolidates individual experiences and frequently develops away from one concept. This issue of “Przestrzenie Teorii” deals with theory emerging from art, theory rooted in and rooting itself in art.

The relation between quantum physics and higher brain functions, including the consciousness, is in recent years a top subject of deep discussions from a scientific, philosophical, psychological and existential point of view. Reality is in continuous motion, life is continuously becoming, a movement of propagating energy waves. The quantum revolution undermined the solid nature of reality, opening the door to the primary role of mind, and proposing scenarios with unexpected features. In this paper interesting aspects of quantum physics are considered, with inevitable repercussions on our lives, which can decisively influence our actions and future. These findings underline the importance of building a cognitive resilience with mindfulness training, for improving the ability to regulate emotions, attention to the true surrounding reality, mood and well-being in life.

Opis:
This paper proposes a relational history of media artifacts, which decentralizes the dominance of the photographer or filmmaker as the absolute author of the work. It adds an alternative account to understanding the creative process and the subsequent study of media forms by discussing film and photographic practices as the reciprocal affective relationship between the maker, their intentions, materials, technologies, non-human agents and the environment. By reorganizing the anthropocentrism of art historical narratives, which typically exclude corporeality and materiality as drivers of human history, we are able to discuss the complex dynamic meshwork of determinants that bring photographic artifacts into existence: the lived, animate, vital materialism at once emergent and mixing of different causalities and temporalities. Within this position, I will provoke discussions of cognition and photography by recalibrating the moment of acting to a model that recognizes a distributed nature of human action into the material world of things. This new materialist position has repercussions for the way we understand processes of creativity and the emergence of media artifacts-seeing these as always already entangled and enmeshed across various corporeal and material, platforms and scales. This paper uses photography as a case study to discuss the broader theme of co-creation between humans, machines and the environment. Using documentary evidence from the archive, I sustain this argument by making a close reading of a particular photographer’s contact sheet, which shows up some of the dynamics of the relational meshwork playing upon the photographer in the field. Through this reading we can begin to think about the implications for the way we understand the emerging aesthetic discourse of technological photographic practices and, more broadly, the cocreative domains of all human activity.

Opis:
This research focused on correlations between the macroscopic mechanical performance and microstructures of energetic binders. Initially a series of glycidyl azide polymer (GAP)/toluene diisocyanate (TDI) binders, catalyzed by a mixture of dibutyltin dilaurate (DBTDL) and triphenyl bismuth (TPB), was prepared. Uniaxial tensile testing, and low-field nuclear magnetic resonance and infrared spectroscopy were then used to investigate the mechanical properties, curing networks, and hydrogen bonding (H-bonds) of these binders. Additionally, a novel method based on the molecular theory of elasticity and the statistical theory of rubber elasticity was used to analyze the integrity of the networks. The results showed that the curing parameter R strongly influences the mechanical properties and toughness of the binders, and that a tensile stress (σm) of 1.6 MPa and an elongation (εm) of 1041% was observed with an R value of 1.6. The cross-linking density increased sharply with the curing parameter, but only modestly with an R value ≥ 1.8. The proportion of H-bonds formed by the imino groups increased with the R value and reached 72.61% at an R value of 1.6, indicating a positive correlation between the H-bonds and σm. Molecular entanglement was demonstrated to increase with R and to contribute dramatically to the mechanical performance. The integrity of these networks, evaluated by a correction factor (A), varies with R, and a network of the GAP/TDI binder with an R value of 1.6 is desirable.

Opis:
In this paper we consider the creation of living matter by a new appeared model of consciousness, named B-DS model, connected to the theories of unification of contemporary physics. In particular we deal with energies of subgroups SU(5), SU(6) and U(1) of SU(11) as superset of SU(5) ´ SU(6) ´ U(1). This is important in view of the potential importance of quantum effects in biology and in consciousness, where not only systems of known particles are considered, but we hypothesize new ones deriving by SU(6) and the significant effect of entanglement. We consider the human brain and its mental aspects as associated with classical brain physiology and also part of a quantum physical universe. We think that quantum mechanics can be relevant for explaining life and consciousness beyond the basic structure and interaction of matter atoms formed by the energy group of SU(5). For explaining biological systems we need to go beyond the present standard model of physics, i.e. starting by the energy group SU(11) instead of SU(5), considering then new unknown particles, tightly binding from the forces created by bosons of the latent energy group SU(6). The paper deals also with interesting information related to chemistry and quantum biology, as well as models related to life and brain working mechanism.

Opis:
The subject of this paper is the analysis of Hilary Putnam’s thesis on the fact/value entanglement along with some of his arguments meant to corroborate this stance. One of his main objectives of putting forward this thesis is reconciliation of science and values, bringing an end to the picture of the former as a ‘value-free zone’. While Putnam’s polemics with standpoints conflicted with his own one are carried out in quite a comprehensive way, the way he formulates some of his constructive arguments meant to augment his own stance are a bit enigmatic. The goal of this paper is to clarify some of them. The first part of this paper briefly outlines Putnam’s arguments aiming to undermine the fact/value dichotomy, which is contradictory to the thesis title. The second one is focused on the issue of so called ‘thick concepts’, which might be considered as counterexamples for the aforementioned dichotomy, and the thesis, correlated with the title one, that description and evaluation are interdependent.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza tezy Hilarego Putnama o splątaniu faktów i wartości wraz z wybranymi argumentami, jakie filozof ten formułuje gwoli jej wsparcia.

Macroscopic displays of entanglement can be observed experimentally as excess correlations between specific manipulations of clusters of matter that have shared space-time. It has been hypothesized that brains as well as other biological systems express signal processing capacities characteristic of non-locality. In the present experiment, transverse sections of fixed human brains were stimulated with a variety of low frequency, low voltage (2 μV) applications of electrical current. Microvolt fluctuations from which spectral profiles could be inferred were simultaneously recorded within transverse (horizontal) sections that were either from the same (matched) or different (non-matched) brain origins. Only the 7 Hz spike-train stimulation produced enhanced theta (4 Hz – 7.5 Hz) activity within the matched brain halves. This was not measured for the non-matched halves. The most conspicuous loci which displayed excess correlation were the internal capsules and insular cortices. Cingulate and frontal cortices did not display similar features. The right hemisphere displayed the most powerful theta profiles for matched sections only. These results suggest that brain sections of common origin are functionally responsive to stimulation at a distance in ways unobserved in brain sections of non-common origin.
