    Learning about language teacher cognition (LTC) is useful for understanding how language teachers act in the classroom. Employing an ecological framework, this study aimed to explore the factors influencing language teachers’ LTCs at different levels. To this end, qualitative data using semi-structured interviews and observation were collected from 62 (30 males and 32 females) Iranian EFL teachers. The results indicated that, at microsystem level, factors such as teaching equipment and facilities, teachers’ mood and feelings, their job satisfaction, and language proficiency influenced LTC. At mesosystem level, LTC was influenced by teachers’ prior learning experience, the collaboration and collegiality among teachers working in the language institute, teachers’ self-efficacy, and critical incidents that happened when teaching or learning. Additionally, the results indicated that exosystem level factors including teacher appraisal criteria, the teaching program and curriculum, and teacher immunity affected LTC. Moreover, LTC was subject to the influence of the government’s attitudes about ELT and religious beliefs about self and interaction, and friendliness with students at macrosystem level. More importantly, it was found that the factors influencing LTC were interrelated and interconnected and in several cases, LTC was a product of joint effect of several factors at various ecosystem levels. Finally, findings in this study suggest that language teaching programs provide recent educational technology in the classroom, foster collaboration and collegiality among teachers, and clarify teacher appraisal criteria for teachers in order to help create positive language teaching beliefs.

    Jeżeli Kościół wypowiada się na tematy społeczno-polityczne i gospodarczo-ekologiczne, to tylko z tego powodu, że w tych kręgach działalności główną rolę odgrywa człowiek będący najdoskonalszym stworzeniem. Jest on bowiem istotą rozumną i wolną. Jest tym, co słusznie nazywamy podmiotem praw i obowiązków. Magisterium Ecclesiae problemy degradacji środowiska naturalnego rozpatruje z teologiczno-etycznego punktu widzenia. Zagadnienie istoty i zakresu kryzysu ekologicznego bywa najczęściej sprowadzane do wymiarów czysto ekonomicznych i niekiedy dodatkowo także do płaszczyzny politycznej. Tymczasem zagadnienie to ma o wiele większy zakres, a mianowicie charakteryzuje go odniesienie do natury moralnej.W celu przedstawienia ekologicznej perspektywy we współczesnym nauczaniu Magisterium uwzględnione zostały następujące zagadnienia. Pierwsze z nich podejmuje próbę teologicznego odczytania stworzenia, które jest podstawą proekologicznego nauczania Kościoła. Na drugim miejscu ukazane są główne przejawy wspomnianego kryzysu. Część trzecia poświęcona jest najważniejszym przyczynom powstałego kryzysu w zakresie ochrony naturalnego środowiska człowieka. Całość artykułu zamykają stosowne wnioski i postulaty.
    Catholic Church expresses opinions about social, political, economic and ecological issues. It is so because these are the issues in which a human being is involved as an intelligent and free being, a subject of rights and obligations. Magisterium Ecclesiae considers natural environment degradation problems from the theological and ethical point of view. The Church emphasizes that the ecological crisis cannot be seen only in economic and political dimensions, because it also contains moral life aspects.To exhibit ecological perspective in the modern teaching of Magisterium the following accents has been presented. The first one considers comprehending creation from the theological point of view. This view is a base for pro-ecological teaching of the Church. The second accent shows the main signs of the ecological crisis. The third one leans on the main reasons of the crisis. The last one in turn contains conclusions and proposals.

    In the shipping domain, many innovative technical systems have been designed and developed in the past decades, aiming to enable the maritime users to achieve the goal of safety, efficiency and effectiveness. The introduction of advanced technologies into workplaces have also created unprecedented challenges. Human users frequently find themselves in a supporting role to serve technology, being responsible for automation issues and blamed for “human errors” that sometimes result in tragic results. These challenges are closely associated with the design and use of technologies. Human‐technology interactions has become an important multidisciplinary research topic for shipping. This article reviews theoretical concepts relative to the dimensions of psychology, sociology and ecology in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) in order to form a deeper understanding of human‐technology interactions. This paper also discusses the theoretical constructs’ practical relevance by showing how a few cases exemplifying ongoing development sectors in shipping, such as energy efficiency optimisation, supervisory control of autonomous unmanned ships, and eco‐systems in engine control rooms, are understood with these theoretical perspectives. By presenting multidisciplinary understandings of human‐technology interaction, this paper aims to derive knowledge pertinent to methodological approaches and philosophical stances of future maritime human factors and HCI research.

    In this article, I contend that the multicultural view of diversity found in management diver sity literature and diversity training programs diminishes our understanding of diversity. It reduces diversity to differences and assumes that the goal should be including, bridging, accommodating, and managing these supposed differences. Diversity is psychologized, depoli ticized, and biopoliticized. It becomes merely a means to an end. The end being superior organi zational outcomes in terms of utility and functionality. I contend that an ecological perspective makes for a more constructive and expansive view of human diversity. I discuss the contours of this emergent perspective and the many ways in which it expands our understanding of human diversity. Ultimately, I contend looking at diversity from an ecological perspective makes for a richer understanding of the relationship between diversity and the human experience.

    In this paper, the authors present an analysis of students’ narratives on their way to becoming competent English as a foreign language (EFL) users. Before presenting our study we refer to the ecological perspective on language learning/teaching, which may show the important impact of the learners’ environment for EFL development. We refer to studies which point to the importance of the environment for language learning and which used various methods of research. In our study, we apply a narrative approach. The collected corpus of narratives is analysed following the grounded theory within the psychological model of wellbeing, i.e. the PERMA model. Eventually, we decided to concentrate on the impact teachers have on learners’ emotions, engagement, meaning, relationships and accomplishment.

    W artykule autorka przedstawiła teoretyczne rodowody pojęcia „rodzinne zasoby”. Zasoby rodzinne w praktyce psychopedagogicznej należy traktować jako zmianę perspektywy postrzegania z perspektywy patogenetycznej skoncentrowanej wokół czynników stresogennych na perspektywę zmiany, sprawczości – całościowość postrzegania. Przyjęcie pojęcia „zasoby rodzinne” powoduje, że w centrum relacji specjalista – rodzina ważne jest uchwycenie niepowtarzalności, subiektywności, funkcjonalności danego systemu rodzinnego, czyli dogłębne jego poznanie. Termin „rodzinne zasoby” jest pojęciem wielopłaszczyznowym i dynamicznym. „Zasoby rodzinne” postrzegane są z perspektywy jednostki, perspektywy systemu, perspektywy sytuacyjnej, perspektywy czasowej oraz perspektywy przestrzenno-ekologicznej. W pracy specjalisty chodzi zatem o bezwzględne uwzględnienie niepowtarzalnej sytuacji danego systemu rodzinnego, określonej płaszczyzny sytuacyjnej i czasowej. Jest to ujęcie bliskie pedagogice społecznej.
    In this paper the auther ponders on the theoretical provenience of the term family resources. Within the practice of psychopedagogy we have to treat family resources as a change of perspective from the pathogenetic focusing on stressfactors to a viewpoint that encompasses the acknowledgement of changes, take into account cause and effect and assume a holistic approach. Adapting the term family resources we assume, that a central point within the relation practitioner-family is the identification of the uniqueness, the subjectivity, the distinctive traits and functioning of a respective family system and with it the recognition and genuine understanding of its essentiality. The term family resources is complex, multilayered and of dynamic nature. Family resources are determined by individual, system-immanent, situational, temporal and socio-economic factors. The practiconer’s task therefore consists in the grasping and consideration of unique, unrepeatable situations within the family system, determined by space-time factors. This is an approach similar to that of social pedagogy.

    Dendrografie to zapisy, których tematem lub wzorcem strukturalnym są drzewa i lasy. Autorka prezentuje szeroką panoramę alternatywnych ujęć tematu „drzewnego” w humanistycznej (rodzimej i tłumaczonej) literaturze przedmiotu w Polsce w drugiej dekadzie XXI wieku. Zauważa w literaturze (artystycznej i naukowej) wzrost frekwencji tematyki drzewnej i leśnej, generowany konfliktem wokół Puszczy Białowieskiej, a także coraz bardziej dolegliwymi konsekwencjami katastrofy klimatycznej. Odnotowuje przekształcanie się ujęć dyskursywnych i symbolicznych, w których dominowało drzewo, w ujęcia zdesymbolizowane, materialne i afektywne, w których dominuje las jako organizm zbiorowy. Podobna przemiana dokonuje się w organicznym modelowaniu: następuje przejście od dendrogramu do mykogramu (grzybni) jako funkcjonalnego modelu zjawisk przyrodniczych, społecznych i kulturowych. Artykuł pełni także funkcję wstępu do tomu czasopisma i zapowiada tematykę pomieszczonych w nim artykułów.
    Dendrographies are records whose theme or structural pattern is trees and forests. The author presents a wide panorama of alternative takes of the theme of “wood” in humanistic (Polish and translated) literature on the subject in Poland in the second decade of the 21st century. She notes in the literature (artistic and academic) an increase in the number of people who are interested in wood and forests, generated by the conflict around the Białowieża Primeval Forest, as well as by the increasingly afflictive consequences of the climatic disaster. She notes the transformation of discursive and symbolic takes, in which the tree dominated,into desymbolised, material and affective takes, in which the forest as a collective organism dominates. A similar transformation is taking place in organic modelling: there is a transition from the dendrogram to the mycogram (mycelium) as a functional model of natural, social and cultural phenomena. The article also serves as an introduction to the journal’s volume and prefigures the topics of the articles contained therein.
