The task of this paper is identification of stresses in a homogeneous isotropic disc weakened with an eccentric circular hole which is loaded by pressure in the internal contour of the hole. By application of a complex variable method, the mathematical model that allows complete analytical solution of stresses of the disc is formed. The methodology can be applied for the solution of any disc weakened with an eccentric circular hole. The comparative analysis has shown a high accuracy of analytically obtained results with FEM results obtained by calculations in ANSYS 12 software package. The application of the results of this paper is of great importance for quality design and optimization of thin-walled structures of disc type weakened by a circular hole.
Zadaniem podjętym w artykule jest identyfikacja stanu naprężeń w jednorodnym, izotropowym dysku osłabionymmimośrodowo umiejscowionymwycięciem kołowym, obciążonym wzdłuż brzegu wewnętrznym naciskiem. Stosując metodę zmiennej zespolonej, w pracy sformułowano matematyczny model układu, który pozwolił na uzyskanie w pełni analitycznego opisu rozkładu naprężeń w dysku. Zastosowana metodologia, zdaniem autorów, może być użyta dla dowolnego dysku z mimośrodowym otworem o kształcie koła. W pracy przeprowadzono ponadto analizę porównawczą z wynikami uzyskanymi numerycznie za pomocą metody elementów skończonych z wykorzystaniem pakietu ANSYS 12. Otrzymane rezultaty badań mogą mieć duże znaczenie praktyczne z punktu widzenia jakości projektowania i optymalizacji cienkościennych konstrukcji zawierających elementy strukturalne z kołowym wycięciem.

Let G=(V, E) be a graph, where V(G) is a non-empty set of vertices and E(G) is a set of edges. We defined dv denote the degree of vertex v∈V(G). We have compared maps of landslide activity and hazard, developed with the use of two different dendrochronological indicators: tree-ring eccentricity and reaction (compression) wood. The maps were prepared based on 125 Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) trees growing at 44 sampling points, distributed over an area of 3.75 km2. In general, the two maps show similar patterns of landslide activity. However, tree-ring eccentricity yielded a greater number of dated events (246) compared to compression wood (129). Besides the differences in the absolute values of dating results, the general landslide activity and hazard zonation based on both disturbances are similar. Both growth disturbances develop as a result of stem tilting. Eccentricity develops after slight tilting, while compression wood is developed when tilting is more significant. Because of the differences in the strength of disturbing factors, which cause the development of compression wood and growth eccentricity, the best approach would be to combine the results of dating obtained from the two methods. The dendrochronological analysis of tree growth disturbances (eccentric growth and compression wood) is a promising approach for determining landslide hazards in forested mountain areas and can be applied in spatial management.

The Brazilian split test on a centrally holed disc (referred to as a ring-disc specimen) is an important indirect method for determining the tensile strength of rock. This paper studies the effect of the diameter d of the center hole and its position, defined by the eccentricity b and the inclination angle of the eccentric hole, on the peak load, failure pattern and horizontal stress of the disc specimen via laboratory experiments and numerical modeling using the finite element method (FEM). Static Brazilian split tests are conducted on an intact disc and three types of holed discs: C-specimens containing a central hole with different diameters, EH-specimens with a horizontally eccentric hole and ER-specimens with a rotationally eccentric hole.

The paper deals with the working peculiarities of the support zones of reinforced concrete elements subject to bending with due account of the eccentric compression and tension. The authors performed simulation of the stress-strain behaviour of the indicated structures with the aid of “Lira” software which results are shown in the graphical and tabulated form. The performed simulation allowed of tracing the work of the studied sample beams till collapse. Such approach made it possible to single out and generalize the main collapse patterns of the inclined cross-sections of the reinforced concrete elements subject to bending on which basis the authors developed the improved method to calculate their strength (Karpiuk et al., 2019).

Based on the response of small-scale model square footing, the present paper shows the results of an experimental bearing capacity of eccentrically loaded square footing, near a slope sand bed. To reach this aim, a steel model square footing of (150 mm × 150 mm) and a varied sand relative density of 30%, 50% and 70% are used. The bearing capacity-settlement relationship of footing located at the edge of a slope and the effect of various parameters such as eccentricity (e) and dimensions report (b/B) were studied. Test results indicate that ultimate bearing capacity decreases with increasing load eccentricity to the core boundary of footing and that as far as the footing is distant from the crest, the bearing capacity increases. Furthermore, the results also prove that there is a clear proportional relation between relative densities –bearing capacity. The model test provides qualitative information on parameters influencing the bearing capacity of square footing. These tests can be used to check the bearing capacity estimated by the conventional methods.

Introduction. A sedentary lifestyle with lack of physical activity contributes to deteriorated balance among healthy young people. Physical activity is import_ant since it stimulates neuromuscular junctions that control body posture, especially at younger age, when greater postural sway may be observed in stabilography compared to adults. Proper work of individual muscle groups is import_ant to maintain proper balance. Abnormal muscle tone can lead to dysbalances that make it difficult o maintain a stable posture in a variety of conditions. Aim. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of a training cycle consisting of stretching of the ilopsoas, rectus femoris, gluteus maximus, hamstring and rectus abdominis, and eccentric training of the above mentioned muscles to improve static and dynamic balance. Methods. Oobjective and qualitative-subjective were used to assess the results in a man aged 22 yrs. Postural control was tested twice in the patient with the Neurocom International Inc. SMART EquiTest device under static conditions without visual control and with dynamic visual surrounding and unstable support surface. Automatic postural reflexes were also evaluated. In addition, clinical tests were performed. Results. Myo-fascial training, which included eccentric training combined with lower limb and trunk stretching improved the postural control in the subject.

Paper presents results of numerical modelling of behaviour of plane strain reinforced concrete elements under eccentric compression. In the analysis, a finite element method was used based on an elasto-plastic constitutive law by Drucker-Prager with hardening and softening for concrete and an elasto-plastic constitutive law by von Mises for reinforcement. The effects of boundary conditions at the element ends, eccentricity of the compressive load, element slenderness, area of the longitudinal and horizontal reinforcement on the load bearing capacity of elements were studied. The effect of the mesh refinement on the bearing capacity of elements was also analysed. A satisfactory agreement with model tests was achieved.
