If the future is to shape the contemporary generation of young people, pupils/students today, it should be prepared for this role. This is largely due to the model of education implemented at all levels of education. The process of education itself is not only about providing up-to-date information about the modern world and the laws that govern it, but also preparing to take responsibility for one's own development. This responsibility has been put to the test thanks to the omnipresent ICT. For the generation of today's learners and students, it is important to achieve short-term goals. The future has disappeared from sight, the seeds of which are being formed right now during education. The unlimited possibilities of using ICT have effectively eliminated from the learning processes: attempts to find out the truth, ask questions, analyse, synthesize and draw conclusions. Therefore, they have eliminated everything that is necessary in adult independent life, including the professional one. It seems that the learning community is less and less aware of these facts, and thus the consequences. The text of the article is not an attempt to negate ICT in education, but an attempt to draw attention to the uncritical use of modern technologies.

Aim. Extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic have led to new ways of learning and teaching, with students and teachers facing many challenges. The aim of the research was to examine attitudes and to determine the impressions and experiences of respondents regarding online teaching as well as to investigate and evaluate learning goals with regard to the SARS-COV-2 virus pandemic. Methods. The research was conducted in the Republic of Croatia on a sample of 1533 university students. A survey questionnaire designed specifically for the purposes of this research was used.Consisted of three independent variables and ten dependent variables related to online teaching. Results. The data obtained show that in online teaching, the respondents mostly used programs such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Merlin, while the least of them used Skype. Regarding testing and assessment, i.e. the grading of success in online teaching, respondents stated that teachers had mostly used colloquia (20.6%) and written exams (19.8%) for grading, while live exams had been used the least. The largest number of research participants, 61.9% of them, expressed the opinion that the criteria and grading procedures were clear and published before individual teaching units Conclusion. Faculties should design different syllabuses for conducting online classes. Centres should be provided/established with the task of collecting digital teaching materials, processing, and storing them, and making them available to teachers and students.

Opis:
E-learning has changed significantly since the pandemic. In the early months of 2020, our whole educational framework suffered from several side effects that needed to be corrected to ensure an effective and alternative way of teaching. Therefore, new methods and methodologies needed to be outlined to address the students’ learning needs. Regarding Higher Education, students and teachers were used to a more traditional way of teaching, yet strategies had to be implemented to maintain teaching in a higher level of performance. Thus, a methodology called “Flavours in EaD” was developed. This strategy comprised several actions and steps on how to build a robust, intuitive, and flexible E-learning course in the COVID-19 Pandemic time. What will be presented and analysed in this work as a way of disseminating the research and methodological process related to the “Flavours in Ead” strategy is based on the thought process involving the preparation, verification, development and implementation phase.
Jeśli chodzi o szkolnictwo wyższe, studenci i nauczyciele byli przyzwyczajeni do bardziej tradycyjnego sposobu nauczania, jednak należało wdrożyć strategie, aby utrzymać nauczanie na wyższym poziomie.

This article contributes to joins the discussion on the copyright framework for educational uses, focusing on the analysis of Article 27 of the Polish Copyright Act, Article 5 of the Directive on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market, and Article. 10 of the Berne Convention. Polish copyright law, the Berne Convention and EU Directives are analysed from the historical perspective to answer the question of whether the legal framework for limitations and exceptions for educational uses has changed to respond adequately to the needs of modern education. The concept of ‘illustration for teaching’ is critically analysed, leading to the conclusion that it reflects narrow approach which fails to address pupils/ students’ activities sufficiently. The objective of the article is to emphasize that modern education needs a flexible approach to educational activities with the use of works. It is emphasized, that the objectives of education and copyright are converging, particularly in the area of the conscious use and adequate description of the source of information.

Opis:
The 2020/21 academic year proved to be unprecedented in many ways for students and lecturers alike. The need to move from traditional education to a virtual classroom during the Covid-19 pandemic became a stimulus to seek new ways to work and expand knowledge. The aim of this paper is to present the outcome of project work completed by university students of a teaching specialization, which included ways of teaching and ICT tools suitable for working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a traditional classroom and in a digital environment. With the increase in remote learning, the challenge of meeting the needs of learners with SEN is considerable. Therefore, inclusive classrooms should be designed with remote learning in mind, so that the teachers are ready to substitute or enrich traditional resources with educational technologies. With the right solutions, teachers can innovate and redefine their classrooms, remodelling them into a mix of face-to face and online delivery. However, different categories of SEN require different solutions. The analysis of the projects confirms that when students are involved in problem-solving and focusing on solutions, they learn more about how to contribute to effective learning in a meaningful way.

The study was aimed at identifying the learners’ vocabulary learning strategies as they were engaged in tasks assigned along the SAMR model. A class of EFL learners was taught vocabulary with the assignments following SAMR. The model led them through four stages: substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition. The results showed that the learners increasingly used digital technology to accomplish their tasks. Their strategies were relatively more diverse, too. The metacognitive and social strategies, however, did not emerge substantially in their report.

This study reports the results of an action-based study conducted in an EFL class to examine whether digital video recordings would contribute to the enhancement of EFL learners’ oral fluency skills. It also investigates the learners’ perceptions of the use of digital video recordings in a speaking class. 10 Turkish EFL learners participated in this study. To determine the impact of digital video recording on EFL learners’ oral performance, the speaking module of IELTS was modified as pre- and post-test. In addition to the analysis of the scores assigned to the learners by two raters using an analytic scale, an analysis of learners’ discourse in pre- and post-test was undertaken to determine whether measures of fluency in learners’ output differ as a result of the video recording. The results suggest that the incorporation of digital video recordings into speaking classes improved the learners’ overall speaking proficiency; however, it did not lead to a significant improvement in learners’ oral fluency. Yet, the analysis of the qualitative data showed that the utilization of digital video recordings may not only bolster the learners’ self-confidence, but also encourage them to take risks with the target language.

The paper presents a research study on using teaching resources at lower secondary schools in the Moravian-Silesian Region. With regard to the massive inclusion of digital resources and learning materials of an electronic nature, the research aimed to find out which educational resources are used in teaching and how. The methods of use were deduced based on the activities the teachers induce in the lessons through these resources. A qualitatively oriented research design was used, based on in-depth semi-structured interviews with 15 lower secondary school teachers who had different lengths of experience and taught different subjects. It was found that all teachers still used the core textbook but supplemented it with other printed or digital textual resources. It was possible to describe how the teachers worked with textbooks and digital resources and capture specific styles in which they initiated instructional activities with printed and digital texts.

Opis:
Research on the education of seniors is a continually developing area of educational studies. However, current researchers emphasize the need for further exploration, due to ongoing social and civilizational changes, as well as the fast digitization of society to which seniors are not able accommodate very quickly. The author of this study will present results of research experiment named LoGaSET which is based on comparing two teaching and learning concepts: edutainment and the classic linear way of education. The concept of edutainment (including the use of location-based games as an educational method) is gaining popularity as a form of teaching. However, there are only a few studies verifying the effectiveness of its use. What is especially important, is that location-based games as an educational method are aimed particularly at young learners. Furthermore, it is not used in teaching ICT. That is the reason why the fundamental idea of the LoGaSET project was the creation of a course for seniors in the field of smartphones. This course was conducted using two methods: the class-lesson method and the location-based game method. After creating both didactic models and scenarios and testing them, researchers conducted educational courses for seniors at the local level. As a result, we can now assume some main conclusions regarding education of seniors in the field of smartphones based on the quantitative and qualitative data we observed during experimental teaching.
