Given a dissipative operator A on a complex Hilbert space H such that the quadratic form $f \mapsto Im\langle f,Af\rangle$ is closable, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for an extension of A to still be dissipative. As applications, we describe all maximally accretive extensions of strictly positive symmetric operators and all maximally dissipative extensions of a highly singular first-order operator on the interval.

Extending differential operators during transition from 3D operations to prospective 4D operations imply the need to expand their 4D range far beyond the usual set-theoretical universe from which subsets of the domain are composed. The prospective infrastructural expansion related to the attempted extending of operations virtually requires an extra dual reciprocal space and thus implies presence of a certain multispatial structure of both the mathematical- and the corresponding to it physical reality. At this point the implication is only operational for it is deduced from the attempted extension of operational domain/scope of geometric differential operator, which, in turn, demands an expansion of their range. The necessary presence of an extra space is not being postulated but emerges from comparative evaluations of differential operators. The operational necessity of presence of paired dual reciprocal spaces or quasispatial structures also generalizes contravariance for multispatiality.

Motivated by applications in linear dynamical systems, the author studies q^n(f), where q is the operator f●(d/dx) and qn is its n-th iteration. q^n(f) is a polynomial F(f(0),f(1),...,f(n)) in the derivatives f(0)=f,...,f(n) of f with integer coefficients. Special attention is paid to determining the coefficients of F. The author presents algorithms for computing the coefficients and also shows that the sum of all coefficients of F equals n!. The paper ends with some remarks on the number of coefficients of F, which is related to the number-theoretic unrestricted partition function.

The paper deals with operators of the form A = S + B, where B is a compact operator in a Hilbert space H and S is an unbounded normal one in H, having a compact resolvent. The present paper is concerned with the study of the differential operator Au(x):=α(x)u''(x)+β(x)u'(x) in the space C([0,1)] and of its adjoint Bv(x):=((αv)'(x)-β(x)v(x))' in the space $L^1(0,1)$, where α(x):=x(1-x)/2 (0≤x≤1). A careful analysis of their main properties is carried out in view of some generation results available in [6, 12, 20] and [25]. In addition, we introduce and study two different kinds of Beta-type operators as a generalization of similar operators defined in [18]. Among the corresponding approximation results, we show how they can be used in order to represent explicitly the solutions of the Cauchy problems associated with the operators A and Ã, where à is equal to B up to a suitable bounded additive perturbation.

In this work, we first describe all the maximal hyponormal extensions of a minimal operator generated by a linear differential-operator expression of the first-order in the Hilbert space of vector-functions in a finite interval. Next, we investigate the discreteness of the spectrum and the asymptotical behavior of the modules of the eigenvalues for these maximal hyponormal extensions.

This is the continuation of four earlier studies of a scalar fractional differential equation of Riemann-Liouville type [formula] in which we first invert it as a Volterra integral equation [formula] and then transform it into [formula] where R is completely monotone with [formula] and J is an arbitrary positive constant. Notice that when x is restricted to a bounded set, then by choosing J large enough, we can frequently change the sign of the integrand in going from (b) to (c). Moreover, the same kind of transformation will produce a similar effect in a wide variety of integral equations from applied mathematics. Because of that change in sign, we can obtain an a priori upper bound on solutions of (b) with a parameter λ ∈ (0, 1] and then obtain an a priori lower bound on solutions of (c). Using this property and Schaefer’s fixed point theorem, we obtain positive solutions of an array of fractional differential equations of both Caputo and Riemann-Liouville type as well as problems from turbulence, heat transfer, and equations of logistic growth. Very simple results establishing global existence and uniqueness of solutions are also obtained in the same way.

We consider a class of singularly perturbed systems of semilinear parabolic differential inclusions in infinite dimensional spaces. For such a class we prove a Tikhonov-type theorem for a suitably defined subset of the set of all solutions for ε ≥ 0, where ε is the perturbation parameter. Specifically, assuming the existence of a Lipschitz selector of the involved multivalued maps we can define a nonempty subset $Z_L(ε)$ of the solution set of the singularly perturbed system. This subset is the set of the Hölder continuous solutions defined in [0,d], d > 0 with prescribed exponent and constant L. We show that $Z_L(ε)$ is uppersemicontinuous at ε = 0 in the C[0,d]×C[δ,d] topology for any δ ∈ (0,d].

In the recent decades, fractional order systems have been found to be useful in many areas of physics and engineering. Hence, their efficient and accurate analog and digital simulations and numerical calculations have become very important especially in the fields of fractional control, fractional signal processing and fractional system identification. In this article, new analog and digital simulations and numerical calculations perspectives of fractional systems are considered. The main feature of this work is the introduction of an adjustable fractional order structure of the fractional integrator to facilitate and improve the simulations of the fractional order systems as well as the numerical resolution of the linear fractional order differential equations. First, the basic ideas of the proposed adjustable fractional order structure of the fractional integrator are presented. Then, the analog and digital simulations techniques of the fractional order systems and the numerical resolution of the linear fractional order differential equation are exposed. Illustrative examples of each step of this work are presented to show the effectiveness and the efficiency of the proposed fractional order systems analog and digital simulations and implementations techniques

This paper is concerned with the existence and approximate controllability for impulsive fractional-order stochastic infinite delay integro-differential equations in Hilbert space. By using Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem with stochastic analysis theory, we derive a new set of sufficient conditions for the approximate controllability of impulsive fractional stochastic system under the assumption that the corresponding linear system is approximately controllable. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the obtained theory.

Cet exemple attache de l'importance au théorème d'existence de Sabina Schmidt (1989) pour des équations différentielles dans les espaces de Banach.

We give a theorem on the error estimate of approximate solutions for difference functional equations of the Volterra type. We apply this general result in the investigation of the stability of difference schemes generated by nonlinear first order partial differential functional equations and by parabolic problems. We show that all known results on difference methods for initial or initial boundary value problems can be obtained as particular cases of this general and simple result. We assume that the right hand sides of equations satisfy nonlinear estimates of the Perron type with respect to functional variables.

Opis:
We consider the classical solutions of mixed problems for infinite, countable systems of parabolic functional differential equations. Difference methods of two types are constructed and convergence theorems are proved. In the first type, we approximate the exact solutions by solutions of infinite difference systems. Methods of second type are truncation of the infinite difference system, so that the resulting difference problem is finite and practically solvable. The proof of stability is based on a comparison technique with nonlinear estimates of the Perron type for the given functions. The comparison system is infinite. Parabolic problems with deviated variables and integro-differential problems can be obtained from the general model by specifying the given operators.

Opis:
A brief history and a mathematical description of the dynamic projection operators technique is presented. An example of the general Cauchy problem for evolution equations in 1+ 1 dimensions is studied in detail. A boundary regime propagation is formulated in terms of operators and illustrated by the simplest one-dimensional diffusion equation. The problem of temperature waves is discussed.

Opis:
Wellposedness of differential and algebraic Riccati equations for control systems with unbounded control operators is considered. It is shown that the full-classical Riccati theory is recovered for a class of dynamics, whose generators are partially analytic. Partial analyticity is quantitatively expressed by the validity of the so-called "singular estimates", which is imposed on the composition operator E[sup At]B (A is the generator, B is unbounded control operator. This class comprises the PDE coupled systems with hyperbolic and parabolic components. Two illustrative examples are given in the paper: boumdary/point control of thermal plates with hyperbolic character and point control of structural acoustic interactions. The latter are described by wave equation coupled at an interface to a plate equation.

In the article the combined algorithm for finding conservation laws and implectic operators has been proposed. Using the Novikov-Bogoyavlensky method the finite dimensional reductions have been found. The structure of invariant submanifolds has been examined. Having analyzed phase portraits of Hamiltonian systems, partial periodical solutions have been found.
