Subject and purpose of work: The aim of the article is to define the current state of modern business services sector in Lublin and prospects for development against the background of the largest centers in the country. Materials and methods: Pursuing the main goal, the authors based their study on the literature on the subject, research reports on the market of modern business services and content from industry websites. The analysis covered several modern business service centers operating on the market, the structure of business processes, the level of employment and the level of local specialization of selected cities. Results: The sector of modern business services is developing intensively throughout Poland. Dynamic development is also taking place in Lublin. The city has the largest number of BPO, SSC, IT and R&D centers in eastern Poland. The workplaces in the sector is constantly growing. IT services currently have a particularly large share in the sales structure of Lublin centers. Conclusions: The development of modern business services sector in Lublin is an opportunity for a dynamic economic development of the city and the region.

Obecnie budowane instalacje wielkoskalowe zgazowania odpadów wykazują tendencję do korzystania z klasycznych, sprawdzonych przez lata technologii, takich jak gazogeneratory ze złożem stałym, gazogeneratory strumieniowe czy też gazogeneratory ze złożem fluidalnym. Równocześnie jednak sukcesywnie budowane są instalacje demonstracyjne wykorzystujące coraz bardziej zaawansowane technologie takie jak zgazowanie w stopionych metalach/ solach czy też zgazowanie plazmowe. Technologie te umożliwiają uzyskiwanie praktycznie czystego gazu syntezowego, pozbawionego większości zanieczyszczeń, co znacząco obniża koszty budowy i utrzymania węzła doczyszczania gazu. Prognozy, zarówno te z lat ubiegłych jak i te najnowsze przewidują ciągły wzrost produkcji gazu syntezowego a więc i tym samym ciągłą budowę nowych instalacji w tym i również tych zasilanych odpadami (w przeciwieństwie do trendu z lat wcześniejszych). Wpływa to na coraz większą atrakcyjność tych technologii, które stają się interesującą alternatywą dla klasycznych układów spalania paliw kopalnych czy tez odpadów.
Currently building large scale installations for gasification of waste tend to use classic, proven for years technology such as gas generators with fixed bed, gas flow generators, gas generators with fluidized bed. Simultaneously demonstration plants are being developed successively, using increasingly advanced technologies such as gasification in molten metals/salts or plasma gasification. These technologies make it possible to obtain practically pure synthesis gas, deprived of most of the impurities, which significantly reduces the cost of construction and maintenance of the flue gas cleaning system. Prognosis, both from previous years and the latest ones, predict a steady increase in synthesis gas production, and consequently the construction of new installations including those also powered with waste (in contrast to the trend of earlier years). It influences to increase of attractiveness of these technologies, which are becoming an interesting alternative to conventional systems of fossil fuel or waste incineration.

Subject and purpose of work: The purpose of the paper is to present the state of and prospects for the development of cycling tourism in Central Roztocze, a physico-geographical mesoregion in southeastern Poland. Materials and methods: The research was carried out by means of a diagnostic survey using the survey technique and a literature review. It was carried out in the period from April to June 2018 on a sample of 128 tourists. Results: The research showed that tourists most often cycle several times a week, covering distances of more than 30 km. The main reason for visiting this region is its natural values. The general assessment of the tourist routes indicates that they are not sufficiently prepared for tourists. It was also shown that in order to popularise cycling tourism, it is necessary to expand lodging facilities, and to provide more practical information about routes. Conclusions: The main factor encouraging tourists to visit Central Roztocze is its natural beauty. The general condition of the routes was assessed by the respondents as “average”. The factor conducive to the development of cycling tourism in Central Roztocze might be the development of the cycling infrastructure, including lodging facilities and practical information on cycling trails.

Akademicka geologia inżynierska w Polsce została przedstawiona na tle rozwoju 130-letniej historii światowej geologii inżynierskiej. W powojennej Polsce geologia inżynierska została utworzona w latach pięćdziesiątych na Politechnice Gdańskiej, Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej i Uniwersytecie Warszawskim. Obecnie dyplom z geologii inżynierskiej można uzyskać tylko na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim, natomiast z hydrogeologii i geologii inżynierskiej na AGH i Uniwersytecie im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. Geolodzy z dyplomem magistra geologii inżynierskiej lub magistra (inżyniera) hydrogeologii i geologii inżynierskiej w stosunku do całej grupy zawodowej geologów nie przekraczają 10%. Zakres działalności akademickiej geologii inżynierskiej w Polsce przedstawiono przede wszystkim na przykładzie Zakładu Geologii Inżynierskiej Wydziału Geologii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego.
This paper is a revision of academic engineering geology in Poland presented against the background of the 130 year worldwide history of this discipline. In post-war Poland the engineering geology has been first taught in the fifties of the twentieth century at Technical University in Gdańsk, Mining and Metallurgical Academy in Cracow and at Warsaw University. Nowadays, a degree in engineering geology can only be obtained exclusively at Warsaw University, whereas graduates from Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Cracow and from University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań specialize in both: engineering geology and hydrogeology. The number of geologists (M.Sc. and Eng.) specializing in engineering geology and both engineering geology and hydrogeology does not exceed 10% of the professional geologists group. The scope of the activity of academic engineering geology in Poland has been described mainly with reference to the accomplishments of the Department of Engineering Geology, Warsaw University.

Dotychczasowe doświadczenia w dziedzinie projektowania i wykonawstwa wykazują, że racjonalne zastosowanie prefabrykacji może w istotny sposób przyśpieszyć i obniżyć koszty budowy obiektów mostowych. Umiejętne zastosowanie prefabrykatów pozwoli również na budowę obiektów trwałych i estetycznych. Jako prefabrykaty można stosować zarówno konstrukcje strunobetonowe jak i kablobetonowe. Prefabrykowane belki sprężone mogą być wykonywane w całości, w zakładzie prefabrykacji lub na miejscu wbudowania, jak też scalane i sprężane na budowie. Przy obecnych możliwościach technologicznych nie należy obawiać się wykonywania betonu na budowie, ponieważ dostawa z wyspecjalizowanej wytwórni betonu zapewnia jego odpowiednią jakość. Również nie należy unikać konstrukcji kablobetonowych, ponieważ newralgiczny zabieg w tej technologii – iniekcja kabli, został opanowany całkowicie przez stosowanie odpowiednich technologii.
Current experience in the sphere of the designing and the execution shows us, that the rational use of the precast concrete elements can into the essential manner accelerate and reduce building expenses of bridges. The skilful use of precast elements will allow also for the construction of durable and aesthetical structures. Precast beams may be used as both kind of structural elements, as pre-tensioned and post-tensioned beams. Prestressed precast beams can be executed en bloc in the factory of the precast elements or on the building site, and also they may be assembled and prestressed on the building site. At present technological possibilities, no one ought to avoid the exercise of the concrete on the construction site, because the delivery from the specialized factory of the concrete assures its suitable quality. Also, no one ought to avoid the posttensioned structures, because the most important intervention in this technology - the injection of cables, became completely safe by the usage of suitable technologies.

The article presents basic information on the current situation related to the basic elements of non-electrified railway transport, which are railway lines and traction vehicles. Data on the situation in a highly industrialized country such as the USA and in Poland are given in the first part. Then it is presented the numerical data, location concentration and a map of the location of non-electrified lines as well as general information about diesel vehicles. The next point of the article discusses the carried out and planned purchases and modernization of diesel railway vehicles. The second, following part of the article presents data on the development plans for the non-electrified rail network and describes the selected information about possible sources of financing the activities for non-electrified railway transport, such as purchases and modernization of rolling stock and networks. The following text is a continuation of the article with the same title, published in the quarterly journal Rail Vehicles No. 2/2020.
W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe informacje na temat aktualnej sytuacji związanej z podstawowymi elementami niezelektryfikowanego transportu kolejowego, jakimi są linie kolejowe i pojazdy trakcyjne. W części pierwszej podano dane dotyczące sytuacji w wysoce uprzemysłowionym państwie jakim jest USA i w Polsce. Dalej przedstawione została dane liczbowe, koncentracja lokalizacji i mapka rozmieszczenia linii niezelektryfikowanych oraz ogólne informacje o pojazdach spalinowych. W kolejnym punkcie artykułu omówione zostały realizowane i planowane zakupy oraz modernizacje kolejowych pojazdów spalinowych. W drugiej, poniższej części artykułu przedstawione zostały dane o planach rozwoju niezelektryfikowanej sieci kolejowej oraz opisano wybrane informacje o możliwych źródłach finansowania działań na rzecz niezelektryfikowanego transportu kolejowego, takich jak zakupy i modernizacje taboru i sieci. Tekst jest kontynuacją artykułu pod tym samym tytułem, zamieszczonym w kwartalniku Pojazdy Szynowe nr 2/2020.

The article deals with the problem of vibration of the aircraft turbine engines with special attention devoted to the unbalance stages of rotors. This problem is rarely mentioned in the specialist engine reference books. It was shown that the amount of information contained in the data got from the permanently made measurements of amplitudes and frequencies of the transverse vibration of engines, particularly in case of the multi-rotors, can not be overestimated. The relationships of these parameters to: the constructional form of rotors, the quality of their realization and assembling, the effect on the clearance changes in supports and the possibilities to detect emergency states of engines have been presented.
W artykule poruszono problem drgań lotniczych silników turbinowych ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem stopnia niewyważenia wirników. Zagadnienie to bywa jedynie śladowo poruszane w silnikowej literaturze specjalistycznej. Tymczasem ilość informacji zawarta w danych uzyskanych z permanentnie dokonywanych pomiarów amplitud i częstotliwości drgań poprzecznych silników, zwłaszcza wielowirnikowych, jest nie do przecenienia. Przedstawiono związki tych parametrów z formą konstrukcyjną wirników, jakością ich wykonania i montażu, wpływem zmian luzów w podporach i możliwościami wykrywania stanów zagrożenia bezpiecznego użytkowania silników.

W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe informacje na temat aktualnej sytuacji związanej z podstawowymi elementami niezelektryfikowanego transportu kolejowego, jakimi są linie kolejowe i pojazdy trakcyjne. Podano dane dotyczące sytuacji w wysoce uprzemysłowionym państwie jakim jest USA i w Polsce. W dalszej części przedstawione została dane liczbowe, koncentracja lokalizacji i mapka rozmieszczenia linii niezelektryfikowanych oraz ogólne informacje o pojazdach spalinowych. W kolejnej części artykułu omówione zostały realizowane i planowane zakupy oraz modernizacje kolejowych pojazdów spalinowych. Istotną częścią artykułu są dane o planach rozwoju niezelektryfikowanej sieci kolejowej w Polsce. W ostatniej części artykułu opisano wybrane informacje o kosztach związanych z działaniami na rzecz niezelektryfikowanego transportu kolejowego, takich jak zakupy i modernizacje taboru i sieci. Druga część artykułu zostanie opublikowana w kolejnym numerze kwartalnika Pojazdy Szynowe.

The control of materials on construction sites is handled carelessly by planning and purchasing departments, site supervisors and engineers as well as contractor’s organization and this have been posing various problems to contractors in realizing reasonable profit margin. The research centered on the assessment of materials management on building projects in Ondo-State Nigeria. This study assessed the current practices of managing materials on building projects, the problems associated with materials management and measures for managing materials in building projects in Ondo state. The study was carried out through the administration of questionnaire to professionals in both consulting and contracting firms and data collected were analyzed using percentile and mean item score. The study reveals that purchasing of materials, material planning method and transportation of materials are the most common practices of materials Management. The most severe problem militating against materials management was lack of proper work planning and scheduling while other problems include inadequate cash flow to contractors due to delayed payments, burglary, theft and vandalism. The study recommends that management should improve their supervision on site, materials should be adequately handled when delivered, care should be given to materials handling process and more awareness should be given to the knowledge of materials management on building projects most especially on construction sites

Opis:
The present investigation is concerned with one dimensional problem in a homogeneous, isotropic thermoelastic medium with double porosity structure in the presence of Hall currents subjected to thermomechanical sources. A state space approach has been applied to investigate the problem. As an application of the approach, normal force and thermal source have been taken to illustrate the utility of the approach. The expressions for the components of normal stress, equilibrated stress and the temperature change are obtained in the frequency domain and computed numerically. A numerical simulation is prepared for these quantities. The effect of the Hartmann number is depicted graphically on the resulting quantities for a specific model. Some particular cases of interest are also deduced from the present investigation.
