In working heavy machines, eg. in mining machines, builder's and of road, appear loads of dynamics and percussive. These loads demand usages in systems of driving machines of flexible torsional coupling. In the elaboration one showed new constructions of metal coupling, very flexible torsionally which one worked out in the Institute of Mining Mechanization at the Silesian University of Technology.
W ciężkich maszynach roboczych, np. w maszynach górniczych, budowlanych i drogowych, występują obciążenia dynamiczne i udarowe. Obciążenia te wymagają stosowania w układach napędowych maszyn sprzęgieł podatnych skrętnie. W opracowaniu pokazano nowe konstrukcje metalowych sprzęgieł bardzo podatnych skrętnie, które opracowano w Instytucie Mechanizacji Górnictwa Politechniki Śląskiej.

This article was aimed to analyse the working condition of the coupling mechanism in Chinese shipbuilding industry cluster. Literature review was conducted to unveil the coupling mechanism of shipbuilding industry cluster, providing analysis of the present development of shipbuilding industry. A theoretical model was proposed by using the efficacy function and the capacity of the coupling coefficient while measuring the coupling of the shipbuilding industry cluster. Four coupling characteristics were found including relevant, systemic, diversity, and collaborative in the shipbuilding industry cluster. The shipbuilding industry cluster has two levels of coupling mechanism including the core layer coupling mechanism and the support layer coupling mechanism respectively. The improvement through coupling the core layer, support layer, and the coupling between two levels, is an effective way to achieve long-term stable development in Chinese shipbuilding industry cluster.

At our Department we deal with the development of pneumatic flexible shaft couplings, which in addition to other flexible couplings are able to change their torsional stiffness by adjusting the air pressure in their flexible elements. This article deals with comparison of two selected pneumatic flexible shaft coupling. The first coupling is a newly developed pneumatic flexible shaft coupling with wedge elements. Pneumatic flexible shaft coupling with wedge elements was developed to improve the properties of pneumatic flexible couplings, especially the nominal and maximal torque and maximum angle of distortion. Due to the reason that coupling with wedge elements isn't manufactured yet, we will use only a mathematic model of this coupling. The second coupling is a tangential pneumatic flexible shaft coupling manufactured by FENA company.
Nasz Wydział zajmuje sie rozwojem elastycznych sprzęgieł pneumatycznych, które jako dodatkową funkcję posiadają możliwość zmiany sztywności skrętnej przez dostosowanie ciśnienia powietrza do ich elastycznych elementów. Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje porównanie dwóch wybranych elastycznych sprzęgieł pneumatycznych. Pierwsze sprzęgło to nowo stworzone elastyczne sprzęgło pneumatyczne z elementami klinowymi. Takie sprzęgło został stworzony, aby ulepszyć właściwości sprzęgła szczególnie przy nominalnym i maksymalnym momencie obrotowym i maksymalnym kącie odkształcenia. Ze względu na fakt, że sprzęgło z elementami klinowymi nie zostało jeszcze wyprodukowane użyjemy jedynie matematycznego modelu takiego sprzęgła. Drugie sprzęgło to elastyczne sprzęgło pneumatyczne wyprodukowany przez firmę FENA.

The mechanical devices very often use flexible pneumatic couplings. These flexible couplings have positive attributes for the particular mechanical system and also protect it from damage. At our department, we are interested in that type of couplings, specifically in the flexible pneumatic couplings. The compressed gas is supplied into the couplings. We supply the gas while coupling is running and also in quiescent condition. Those couplings use gaseous medium, in this case air. The main objective of this article is the application of helium gas in the pneumatic flexible couplings and study the impact of these gases on the mechanical properties of pneumatic couplings.
Mechaniczne urządzenia często posiadają elastyczne sprzęgła pneumatyczne. Takie elastyczne sprzęgła wpływają pozytywnie na dany system mechaniczny, a także chronią go przed uszkodzeniem. Nasz Wydział interesuje sie typami sprzęgieł, szczególnie elastycznymi sprzęgłami pneumatycznymi. Do tychże sprzęgieł doprowadza się sprężony gaz. Dostarczamy gaz, kiedy sprzęgło działa, a także w stanie biernym. Takie sprzęgła używają czynnika gazowego, w tym wypadku powietrza. Głównym celem tego artykułu jest zastosowanie helu jako czynnika gazowego w pneumatycznych elastycznych sprzęgłach i badanie jego wpływu na mechaniczne właściwości pneumatycznych sprzęgieł.

We consider the effect of the Rashba spin-orbital coupling in two-dimensional GaAs semiconductor heavily doped with Mn, on the spin polarization of holes. Due to the strong internal spin-orbit interaction in GaAs, the spin of a hole is not a good quantum number but the hole in some energy state has a certain mean value of spin, which can be strongly affected by the Rashba spin-orbital interaction related to the substrate for 2D material.

We propose and numerically investigate a directional coupler which consists of two dielectric loaded InSb based terahertz (THz) plasmonic waveguides. Owing to the permittivitly tunable property of InSb, the coupling strength between the two dielectric loaded plasmonic waveguides is affected by temperature, so the maximum power coupled from the input waveguide to the cross-waveguide and the correspondingly coupling length could be effectively tailored by altering temperature. Under different temperatures, this directional coupler could act as a thermally controlled terahertz wave switch or a 3-dB terahertz splitter around the frequency of 1.17 THz. This ultracompact and thermally controlled plasmonic directional coupler may find potential important applications in the highly integrated photonic circuits for terahertz system and technologies.

In this publication the effect of the operating temperature on the effective inductance of a controllable inductor is analysed. The main difference compared to a coil with a simple single core lies in the current-controlled inductance-value. This is achieved by a second core implemented perpendicular upon the load-toroid affecting the saturation within a limited shared volume. Corresponding to the presented analysis, the dependencies on the core temperatures are investigated by measurements.

In the description of the process of coupling of pulleys with the toothed belt often existing solutions are used. Depending on the application they are similar to flat belt, chain or hellical gears. Euler made a first approximation of the coupling by ratio of the stress of active and passive tendon in the form of an exponential function of the natural logarithm base. The exponent of this function contained a number of factors related to the material of belt and pulleys. The coupling takes place at successive coupling of the teeth and its nature depends on both the material and the geometry of the teeth. The most appropriate process used for a description of the motion is a pendulum with variable coupling point.

Opis:
A direct aryl-aryl coupling reaction is the most common method for the synthesis of axially chiral biaryls. Atroposelective coupling can be accomplished by three main strategies (Scheme 1) [1, 11]: a) intramolecular coupling reaction between two aryl substrates by the use of the chiral tether as a source of asymmetric information (Scheme 2), b) intermolecular reaction of the modified aryl compounds containing a chiral auxiliary. A source of chiral information can be a planar-chiral element, the chiral leaving group, and the chiral ortho substituent (Scheme 12, 16, 17), c) intermolecular coupling in the presence of chiral additives, for example, stoichiometric or catalytic oxidation in the presence of the transition metal complexes containing chiral ligands, and the redox-neutral coupling reactions catalyzed by transition metal complexes with chiral bidentate N/P- -ligands (Scheme 18, 20–22). These methods have been applied in the synthesis of various biologically active compounds. For example, Lipshutzet et al. obtained a fragment of the antibiotic vancomycin [15], and O-permethyltellimagrandin II [16]. Lin and coworkers synthesized (P)-kotanin [17], the natural metabolite from Aspergillus glaucus (Scheme 3). Waldvogel and coworkers [19] received steganacin derivative, a cytostatic drug (Scheme 5). Coleman et al. in the oxidative dimerization reaction of aryls with a chiral ortho substituents obtained a precursor in the synthesis of calphostin A (Scheme 8) [26]. Meyers and coworkers [27, 28] applied the Ullmann homocoupling for the synthesis of gossypol (Scheme 9). The oxidative coupling of phenols allows to obtain the natural precursor of nigerone (Scheme 13) [42]. Whereas the calphostin [18] derivative, an inhibitor of protein kinase C, was obtained by the oxidative coupling reaction (Scheme 4). The schizandrin [23] from Schisandra chinensis and isodiospyrin [24] from Diospyros morrisiana were obtained by intermolecular coupling reaction of aryl substrates with the chiral ortho substituents (Scheme 7).

In this work the compositional dependence of hyperfine interactions and magnetoelectric coupling in (BiFeO3)x-(BaTiO3)1–x solid solutions where x = 0.5–0.9 fabricated from commercial BaTiO3 in terms of the solid-state sintering method at various temperatures and over different time periods is described. In general, as the content of BaTiO3 increases, a decrease in the hyperfine magnetic field (Bhf) at 57Fe nuclei was observed. However, for samples exhibiting lower homogeneity in which the ions of Bi3+ and Fe3+ are replaced by Ba2+ and Ti4+ with lower probability, higher values of Bhf are obtained. For the sample where x = 0.6 that exhibits the coexistence of rhombohedral, regular and tetragonal phases, the highest value of the αME coefficient (3.57 mV/A) was observed, which is more than three times higher when compared to the hitherto published results.

Through the combination subject of scientific research, the design method of the winch driven by contactless magnetic coupling is researched for the core purpose of the turning shaft sealing in a deepwater environment. This method has six design phases, including domestic and foreign information query and retrieval, graphic analyses of relevant structures, innovative design of 2D assembly sketches, a theoretical computation of structure parameters, the 3D modeling and motion simulation and engineering drawing. This method is of generality, which can provide examples for the postgraduate students and engineering personnel in self-renovation design of scientific research.

The paper deals with magnetic coupling between circular turns, modelling of spiral coil arranged concentrically on a plane and the single forcing turn. The turns are organized in axially symmetric arrangement. Circular turns are made of nonferromagnetic conductor. The equations of the magnetic field distribution around a single turn with current were derived from the Biot-Savart law, taking into account the turn wire radius Using the Biot-Savart law, equations describing the distribution of the magnetic field around a single turn with current, taking into account the radius of the turn wire, were derived. An original relation was obtained. It which allows to calculate self inductance of a single turn and mutual inductances relative to the other turns. The inductance matrix of the individual coil turns was derived from obtained formulas.From the formula inductance matrix of turns set of the spiral coil model was built. The spiral coil inductance was derived from inductance matrix of the adopted coil modelSpiral coil inductance has been described on the basis of the established coil model inductance matrix. The self inductance of the forcing coil, as well as the mutual inductance between forcing coil and the individual turns of the spiral coil were derived from the Biot-Savart lawSimilarly self inductance of the forcing coil and mutual inductance vector between the forcing turn and the each turn of spiral coil model were described.

The potential for expanding the variety of catalytic methods for carbon-carbon bond formation is being currently explored in many research centres all over the world. An increasing use of selected d-block metals as catalysts in the synthesis has brought new methods of functionalization of organic and organometallic compounds of great importance for development of polymer chemistry and organic chemical technology [5, 6]. This work describes very precise and controlled catalytic transformations as useful tools for the synthesis of new E-conjugated organic, organosilicon molecular and polymeric compounds. The combination of Suzuki-Miyaura coupling and silylative coupling reactions as a simple and efficient method is established for designing new E-stereoregular hybrid materials in the presence of well-defined transition metal (TM) catalysts. All presented compounds can be interesting precursors for a further functionalization that may significantly increase the possibility of their application in the design and synthesis of new functional materials.

Plastic deformation mode of the great coupling diaphragms is the subject matter of this article. The model has been created on the experimental way through the research on a wheel excavator. The presented analysis algorithm of the aggregated data is a basis for identification of the causes and the area of the plastic deformation in the great coupling diaphragms.
W artykule zaprezentowano własny model analityczny, opisujący plastyczną deformację membran sprzęgieł wielkogabarytowych. Omówiono badania doświadczalne zrealizowane na kołowej koparce wielonaczyniowej, które stanowiły podstawę do budowy modelu. Przedstawiono algorytm analizy zebranych danych, umożliwiający identyfikację przyczyn powstania zjawiska plastycznego odkształcenia się membran sprzęgieł wielkogabarytowych.

We present an optical signal coupling scheme for slab waveguide surface grating coupler sensors. The proposed solution is based on the use of polymer microlenses. In this work we analyze two types of compact polymer lenses: the aspheric plano-convex lenses and Fresnel lenses. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by the experimental investigation into the optical signal coupling to the test structure of TiO2-SiO2 slab waveguide surface grating coupler using both types of lenses.

The permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) driven by an inverter is widely used in the industrial field, but the inverter has a significant impact on the operational stability of the PMSM. The torque ripple of the PMSM is directly affected by the coupling of multiple harmonic voltages in the motor windings. In order to analyze its influence, a water-cooled PMSM with 20 kW 2000 r/min is taken as an example to establish the finite element model of the prototype, and the correctness of the model is verified by experiments. Firstly, based on the finite element method, the electromagnetic field of the PMSM is numerically solved in different operating states, and the performance parameters of the PMSM are obtained. Based on these parameters, the influence of the harmonic voltage amplitude on the torque ripple is studied, and the influence law is obtained. Secondly, combined with the decoupling analysis method, the influence of harmonic voltage coupling on the torque ripple is compared and analyzed, and the variation law of harmonic voltage coupling on the torque ripple is obtained. In addition, the influence of different harmonic voltage coupling on the average torque of the PMSM is studied, and the influence degree of different harmonic voltage amplitude on the torque fluctuation is determined. The conclusion of this paper provides reliable theoretical guidance for improving motor performance.

This paper demonstrates a compact MIMO (Multi Input Multi Output) fractal type antenna for ultra-wide band applications. The proposed antenna is manufactured on a lowcost substrate material and the design is analyzed for various iterations in terms of reflection coefficient, gain, and bandwidth. The 50 Ω transmission line feed is used for both fractal patches and a metamaterial structure is used as the ground plane. The proposed design achieved a wide-band frequency response between 5.8 and 15 GHz, with the reflection coefficient of less than –10 dB. Reduced mutual coupling, positive gain and stable radiation patterns were observed throughout the operating band as well. The bandwidth of 9.2 GHz is achieved with the use of a metamaterial structure on the ground plane. The ECC and diversity gain obtained prove the excellent diversity performance of the antenna. The design was simulated using HFSS software and was tested in a lab.

The paper proposes a new third-order Chebyshev bandpass filter based on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) manufacturing technology using an inductive iris and a defected ground structure (DGS) station to resonate in the Ka frequency band, intended for wireless communication applications. All steps that are necessary for designing such a filter have been described in detail based on specific analytical equations harnessed to calculate the different synthesizable parameters of the proposed band-pass filter design, such as the coupling matrix, quality coefficients and initial geometric dimensions. The filter’s ideal frequency response is extracted from an equivalent circuit employing localized elements developed with the use of Design Microwave Office Software. Otherwise, HFSS is employed to set the initial parameters of the proposed topology that will not meet the target specifications defined previously. Accordingly, optimization procedures are necessary for different SIW band-pass filter parameters to reach a high frequency response for the proposed design. The detailed results presented show high efficiency of the SIW technology that offers good performance with lower filter volumes. Two topologies have been developed and then optimized to demonstrate the usefulness of EM software.

In this paper, the experimental investigations, constitutive description and numerical modelling of low-cycle fatigue behaviour of P91 steel in non-isothermal conditions are presented. First, experimental tests are performed to recognise different aspects of material behaviour. Then, an appropriate constitutive model is developed within the framework of thermodynamics of irreversible processes with internal state variables. The model describes two phases of cyclic softening, related to plastic mechanisms. An important goal of the presented research is to include thermomechanical coupling in the constitutive modelling. Next, the model parameters are identified based on the available experimental data. Some parametric studies are presented. Finally, numerical simulations are performed, which indicate the significant influence of thermomechanical coupling on the response of the constitutive model in thermomechanical fatigue conditions.

Magnetorheological elastomers contain carbonyl iron particles of diameter of several microns, each that are dispersed in the polymer resin. These particles are grouped in structures like chains. Properties of such materials can be changed by applying an external magnetic field and they can vary in a wide range. When the magnetic field intensity rises, the effective elastic module increases. The resulting modulus increase is rapid, continuous, and reversible. For a relatively high-modulus elastomer matrix such as natural rubber, the fractional modulus increase with magnetic field can exceed 50%, while it can be even larger for low-modulus host materials. Thanks to this property MREs are used in constructions like controlled vibration dampers, absorbers (TVAs), clutches, actuators, stiffness tunable mounts and suspensions, variable impedance surfaces, automotive suspension bushings, valves, brakes, safety restraint systems, semi active control systems, building vibration isolation, etc. The magneto rheological elastomers (MRE) based on carbonyl iron particles-filled polyurethane resin were investigated. Their stiffness can be changed easily by magnetic field. Such a property can be useful in construction of active vibration damping structural elements. The problem of magneto-mechanical coupling was investigated. The coupling was performed in the 2 different ways. Both of the methods were iterative. The first one was performed in the two loops: external loop was performed over forces that loaded internal rows of iron particles (dipoles) and internal where the remaining external rows of dipoles were loaded by displacement that were induced by the forces. The second method used single loop performed over magnetic forces that were applied to external rows of dipoles and were recalculated in subsequent iterations accordingly to the change of distances between rows of dipoles. Iterations were performed until the state of balance was reached. The compliance of results confirms the correctness of applied numerical methods of MRE behaviour under applied magnetic field.

Biaryls are the potential source of synthetic drugs. The present study describes the synthesis of a series of functionalized biphenyl derivatives (3a-3g) using Pd-catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. The experimental results revealed the facile synthesis of biphenyl derivatives (3a-3g) with notably high yield (80-88 %). Density functional theory (DFT) studies were performed by Gaussian 09 software in order to rationalize the selectivity of coupling at C-Br bond instead of C-Cl bond. In addition of synthesis, the biological activities (biofilm inhibition, hemolytic and anti-thrombolytic) of these novel compounds were investigated. These results exhibited good biofilm inhibition (5.86-65.8 %), hemolytic (1.32-30.1 %) and anti-thrombolytic activities (9.64-42.5 %), indicating the potential use of these compounds for pharmaceutical applications.

Main effort of every design engineer is reduction of torsional oscillation in any mechanical system. At present this problem can be solved by means of a suitable modification of dynamic properties of flexible shaft couplings according to dynamics in the given systems. But the dynamic properties of nowadays-applied flexible couplings are not unchangeable because of aging and fatigue processes occurring in flexible coupling elements. Result of this fact causes detuning of mechanical system. Taking into consideration the above-mentioned situation, we suggest for mechanical systems application of a newly developed pneumatic couplings that have constant characteristic features during the whole current operation and thus they have a positive influence on the system running.
Głównym zadaniem inżyniera konstruktora układów napędowych jest takie zaprojektowanie tego układu, aby poziom drań skrętnych generowany przez zmienny moment obrotowy był jak najmniejszy. Problem ten może być rozwiązany przez zastosowanie sprzęgła podatnego o odpowiednich własnościach sprężysto-tłumiących, umożliwiających redukcję drgań skrętnych układu napędowego. Obecnie stosowane sprzęgła podatne posiadają niezmienne charakterystyki, które nie umożliwiają dostosowania się do danego układu napędowego. W artykule przedstawiono budowę i badania sprzęgła pneumatycznego, umożliwiającego dostosowanie charakterystyki do pracy układu napędowego.

In this paper the quality of a technique to compensate for mutual coupling (and other phenomena) in small linear antenna arrays is investigated. The technique consists in calculation of a coupling matrix, which is than used to determine corrected antenna array excitation coefficients. Although the technique is known for more than 20 years, there is still very little information about how different phenomena existing in a real antenna arrays influence its performance. In this paper two models of antenna arrays are used. In the first model the effect of mutual coupling is separated from the aperture edge diffraction. In the second model antenna both mutual coupling and aperture edge diffraction effects are included. It is shown that mutual coupling itself can be compensated very well and an ultralow sidelobe level (i.e. –50 dB) could be achieved in practice. In the presence of diffraction effects –46.3 dB sidelobe level has been attained, but radiation pattern can be controled only in narrow angle range (i.e. up to & #177;60°)

Multiferroic composites are very promising materials because of their applicability because the magnetoelectric effect occurs in them. The subject of the study were two multiferroic ceramic composites: leaded obtained from powder of the composition PbFe0.5 Nb0.5 O3 and ferrite powder of the composition Ni0.64 Zn0.36 Fe2 O4 and unleaded which was obtained from the powder of the composition BaFe0.5 Nb0.52 O3 and the same ferrite powder Ni0.64 Zn0.36 Fe2 O4. For the both multiferroic materials the following studies were conducted: SEM, BSE, EDS, XRD and the temperature dependence of dielectric constant ε(T). Using the previously developed method of calculating the magnetoelectric coupling factor (g), based on dielectric measurements, the magnitude of the magnetoelectric effect in the multiferroic composites was determined.

The polarized electromagnetic waves have significant impact on the performance of adaptive antenna arrays. In this paper we investigate the effect of polarized desired and undesired signals on the performance of electronically steered beam adaptive antenna arrays. To achieve this goal, we built an analytical signal model for the adaptive array, in order to analyze, and compare the effect of polarized signals on the output SINRs (signal to interference plus noise ratios) of single-dipole, and cross-dipole adaptive antenna arrays. Based on a proof-of-concept experiment, and on MATLAB simulation results, it will be shown that cross-dipole adaptive antenna arrays exhibit better performance in comparison with single-dipole adaptive antenna arrays in presence of randomly polarized signals. However, single-dipole arrays show better performance under certain operating conditions.

An experimental identification of joint dynamic properties requires accurate models of the joined bodies and an appropriate model coupling method. The bodies to be coupled can be described by their mass, stiffness and damping matrices (M, K, C) or by receptance matrices. Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages. The receptance matrix method requires a high number of measurements. However the measured data can be used directly and no model identification is needed. The experimental identification of the M, K, C matrices feasible for creating precise coupled models is difficult. Therefore, an approach based on a verified FE model can be employed. The two methods of model identification and coupling are discussed using a case study of two bolted beams. Several ways of the receptance matrices measurement simplification and their influence on the accuracy of the results are studied. The effect of noise, measured FRF peak accuracy and data filtering on the resulting coupled receptance matrix is studied as well. The results obtained by the receptance matrix method are compared to the results obtained by the method of coupling the verified FE models. It has been found that the method based on coupling the verified M, K, C matrices proves to be a more reliable approach, which will allow a more precise joint dynamic model identification in the next step.

The problem of a closed-form accurate determination of self and mutual capacitance of conductors in air and earth is considered: the application is the complete modeling of a railway line including buried conductors. The Generalized Potential Method (GPM) is presented and analyzed with regard to conditions of validity and solution methods. The accuracy of the GPM is evaluated solving some reference cases using the Complex Image Method and a commercial Finite Element Method simulator, comparing the model results with experimental data, and including the sensitivity on soil conductivity and permittivity, distance of conductors from the air–earth interface and frequency.

In the present work an example of the numerical modeling of electro-mechanical coupling of the activator in the form of cantilever beam made of two layers PVDF subjected to an inverse polarity is described. Calculations were done for static deflections at the selected voltage levels and for modal analysis with an included and excluded piezoelectric effect. The effect of active material on the behavior of the beam was examined. In order to validate the model, results of the static calculation were compared with the strict analytical solution and the results presented by other authors.

This paper presents how to design and simulate a passband rectangular waveguide filters based on direct coupled resonators operating at 12 GHz. The modeled filters are characterized by a cross coupling that produces a single attenuation pole at finite frequency used to shape the bandpass response. Resonators provide bandpass filter designs with a pseudo-elliptic response using HFSS simulators. Transmission zeros are obtained through coupling between the fundamental mode and high mode. The filter structures are validated leading to obtain transmission zeros close to the passband. The simulated waveguide filters with a centre frequency exhibit an insertion loss of -0.4/0.3dB and a return loss of −20/23dB for a bandwidth ranging from 11.85GHz to 12.15GHz that shows good electromagnetic responses for the simulated filters.

In this paper, the effects of coupling agent and lignin extracted from waste cotton stalks in Xinjiang on thermaloxygen aging properties of polypropylene (PP) composites were studied. The melt index test and indoor thermal oxygen aging test was carried out on the samples treated with coupling agent. The mechanical properties, surface micromorphology, rheological properties and element composition of the materials before and after 30 days of aging were studied. The results showed that the titanate coupling agent was the best for improving the melt index and mechanical properties of PP/cotton stalk lignin composites. After the 30-day thermal oxygen aging test, the samples with 2% lignin had the best impact strength and retention rate of fracture elongation, reaching 68.9% and 77.3% respectively. The sample with 3% lignin content had the smoothen surface, no crack appeared. After aging, the increase of C=O was the least, and the crystal peak area decreased less.

W pracy przedstawiono budowę nowego rozwiązania konstrukcyjnego metalowego sprzęgła o dużej podatności skrętnej i opis stanowisk badawczych oraz metodykę wyznaczania jego charakterystyk statycznych. Zaprezentowano także uzyskane wstępne wyniki badań, pozwalające na wyznaczenie wymienionych charakterystyk.

In this paper, the effect of a cracked tooth on the dynamic response of a simple gearbox with a flexible coupling is studied. The gearbox is driven by a combustion engine through a flexible coupling for which Nelson and Crandall’s model is used. The acyclism regime is generated by diesel engine inducing fluctuations of speed, torque and meshing stiffness. In addition, the cracked tooth of the wheel gear is modelled by lowering the meshing stiffness. After solving the equations of motion by using the Newmark method, the time response, spectrum, joint time-frequency analysis and envelope spectrum are used to characterize the dynamic response of the defected gearbox where the cracked tooth frequency is irregular and independent of the acyclism frequency.

Treatment of cyanuric chloride with chiral amines or esters of chiral amino acids gave chiral 2,4-dichloro-6-alkylamino-1,3,5-triazines (2-5) in 49-69% yield, which were found useful as coupling reagents. Enantioselective activation and enantioselective aminolysis in the presence of 2-5 was observed.

The aim of the study is to analyse shape memory alloy (SMA) pipeline joints in limited space applications for all kinds of ships. Generally, the space available in various areas on ships is strictly limited and service works usually meet many obstacles. If we consider a pipeline, the flange joints always require a larger free space around the pipe than the pipe alone. A simultaneous problem can occur with the propeller shaft line coupling between bearings. SMA couplings require less space around the pipe and service should be easier, e.g., insulation fixing, painting and so on. SMA couplings last for a lifetime and there is no need for periodical seal replacement. Herein, some proposals among other unpublished data are discussed. There is a significant technological interest in the use of SMAs for applications not widely used yet. A wide variety of alloys present the shape memory effect and many generate an expressive restitution force considerable for commercial interests.

This article compares flexible couplings of the spider-type insert, and the tiretype insert. The influences of the volume and hardness of the elastomeric connector on the characteristics of this type of coupling, as well as the course of the change of the stiffness coefficient as a result of changes in the operating temperature, are presented. In drive systems, flexible couplings undergo very frequent changes within a wide range of operating temperatures, which causes a change in the dynamic parameters of the flexible couplings during operation.

Effective machine tool design needs to take into account various kinematic configurations and possible combinations of structural parts, which meet the requirements of both the structural properties on one hand and technology and cost limitation on the other hand. Prior to a detailed developing a certain machine tool structure, an expert based decision on the machine tool conception needs to be performed. A high number of design variants should be explored in a short time. Fulfilling those demands leads to developing a machine tool modular models, enabling easy changing the kinematic configuration or various structural parts. In the paper the techniques for effective component coupling and model order reduction using mode truncation or Krylov subspace based technique for creating the machine tool coupled models are introduced. Case studies considering real machine tool structures are given. High quality of Krylov subspace reduction technique in connection with multipoint constraint surface coupling is shown both in terms of dynamic properties of the reduced multibody model and a very low time demands at the same time.

Harmonic flux penetrating solid conductive material causes eddy currents inside. It seems plausible that its magnitude does not exceed the exciting magnetomotive force (mmf). However, under certain circumstances the opposite occurs. This article deals with a special case in which the eddy current is approximately 13% higher than the exciting mmf. An analytical field solution, a finite element calculation and a measurement proving this phenomenon are presented. A special flux linkage is turned out to be the reason for this phenomenon. Finally, another example with higher pronounced mmfexceeding in a coil is presented.

This paper presents a set of basic problems concerning the control of an underactuated dynamic system. Exemplary system of a planar rigid body with a coupling input force is described. Lie brackets method is used to show accessibility of the system. A tracking problem is solved with computed torque algorithm. The coupling force makes the convergence to zero of all state variables errors impossible. After numerical simulation, stability of the system is mentioned.

The fracture of shape memory alloys is distinct from that of conventional metals, owing to the coexistence and interaction of multiple special features such as martensitic transformation, dislocation-induced plasticity, thermomechanical coupling and others. In this paper, the impact of thermomechanical behavior upon the crack initiation of a NiTi shape memory alloy under Mode I loading is investigated numerically and verified experimentally. A constitutive model incorporating phase transformation, plasticity and thermomechanical coupling is established. Via backward Euler integration and finite-element implementation, the longitudinal strain, martensite volume fraction and temperature field in the vicinity of the crack tip are furnished. The effects of grain size and loading rate on J-integral are revealed. The grain size dependence of crack initiation is non-monotonic. For the samples with grain sizes of 1500 nm, 18 nm and 10 nm, the shielding effect takes place in front of the crack. Additionally, the anti-shielding effect is detected for samples with grain sizes of 80 nm and 42 nm. The parametric study shows that loading rate imposes limited influence on J-integral, which is attributed to a small scale transformation. The decrement of yield stress and the increment of transformation hardening modulus can alleviate the anti-shielding effect and arouse the shielding effect upon crack initiation. The presented results shed light on the design and fabrication of high toughness phase transformable materials.

Prolonged exposure to hand–arm vibration (HAV) generated by chainsaws can cause HAV syndrome, i.e., disorders in the upper extremities of forestry workers. Progress of HAV syndrome depends on the intensity of mechanical vibration transmitted throughout the body, which is directly proportional to coupling forces applied by the woodcutter to a vibrating tool. This study aimed to establish a method of measuring coupling forces exerted by chainsaw workers in real working conditions. Coupling forces exerted by workers with their right and left hands were measured with a hydro-electronic force meter. Wood hardness, the type of chainsaw and the kind of forest operation, i.e., felling, cross-cutting or limbing, were considered.

The waveguide filter structure is treated by two softwares (HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) and CST (Computer Simulation Technology)). Numerical example is given in this article to demonstrate, step by step, the application of the approach to the design of resonator, direct coupled waveguide and microstrip filters based on electromagnetic (EM) simulations. For this design procedure, the filter structure is simulated by successively adding one resonator at a time. To continue the work illustrates how to design a fourth order coupled resonator based rectangular waveguide circuit in the traditional way. With a large number of variables, such tuning work consumes a lot of time and the convergence of the final result is not guaranteed. A fourth order X-band bandpass filter with a center frequency of 11 GHz and a fractional bandwidth FBW = 0,0273 is designed using this procedure and presented here as an example. The simulated results by CST are presented and compared withthe results simulated by a high-frequency structure simulator. Good agreement between the simulated HFSSand simulated results by CST is observed.

Marine economy is a new economic form, emphasizing new development concept, new operation mechanism and management mode. In recent years, marine economy shows rapid growth, and marine industry presents a clustering development trend. The industrial linkage effect, industrial agglomeration effect and industrial radiation effect of the marine industrial cluster are important motive forces for the development of coastal cities. The marine industrial cluster takes coastal cities as the development platform and space, while the coastal cities achieve rapid and sustainable development based on the marine industrial cluster. The synergetic and coupling development of the marine industrial cluster and coastal cities is an important way for the promotion of industrial competitiveness and urban competitiveness. This paper developed a measure to identify the marine industrial cluster, designed the evaluation index of coupling of marine industrial cluster and coastal cities development from two perspectives of industrial linkage and spatial agglomeration, taking Shandong province, a typical coastal province in China, as an example, it studied the situation of the marine industrial cluster based on input-output data and data of marine enterprises of coastal cities, based on which it explored the coupling relationship between marine industrial cluster and coastal cities of Shandong province.

In this paper, an analytical model is proposed to predict lateral vibration of a drillstring in a vertical well. The effect of parameters, such as stiffness of spring, average weight on bit (WOB), amplitude of fluctuating WOB and so on, on the dynamic stability of the drillstring is discussed. It is found that the interaction between the drillstring and drilling mud has a great influence on drillstring buckling and dynamics. For constant drilling pressure, the mud flow rate stabilizes the drillstring under certain conditions, but the fluctuating WOB drives the drillstring parametric resonance.
