Opis:
The solutions to the Rational Covariance Extension Problem (RCEP) are parameterized by the spectral zeros. The rational filter with a specified numerator solving the RCEP can be determined from a known convex optimization problem. However, this optimization problem may become ill-conditioned for some parameter values. A modification of the optimization problem to avoid the ill-conditioning is proposed and the modified problem is solved efficiently by a continuation method.

Opis:
The paper presents a study of the flight dynamics of a helicopter with an articulated rotor, carrying a suspended load. The aircraft model includes rigid body dynamics, individual flap and blade dynamics, and inflow dynamics. The load is a point mass with a single suspension point. Results are obtained for load masses of up to 1500 kg, with load-to-helocopter mass rations up to 33%, and cable lengths up to 55m. The presence of the external load modifies the flight dynamics and handling quality characteristics of the helicopter because the dynamic and aerodynamic characteristics of the load may make it unstable in certain fight conditions. Maneuvers of this system in wide flight regimes involves non-linear aerodynamics and inertial coupling. In can be stated that the helicopter with the suspended load is a inherently non-linear and time varying system. Theory of dynamical systems provides a methodology for studying such non-linear systems. Bifurcation theory is a part of that theory. It considers changes in the stability of the system which lead to qualitatively different responses of it. In this paper, results from the theory of dynamical systems are used to predict the nature of instabilities caused by bifurcations and the response of the rotorcraft with the suspended load that follow such bifurcations.
W pracy przedstawiono studium dynamiki lotu śmigłowca z przgubowym wirnikiem nośnym, przenoszącego podwieszony pod kadłubem ładunek. W zastosowanym modelu wiropłata uwzględniono stopnie swobody nieodkształcalnego kadłuba, dynamikę wahań i odchyleń łopat wirnika nośnego oraz dynamikę przepływu przez płaszczyznę wirnika nośnego. Założono, że podwieszony ładunek jest punktem materialnym, na który działają siły aerodynamiczne, podwieszonym w jednym punkcie pod kadłubem śmigłowca. Wyniki obliczeń uzyskano dla podwieszonych ładunków o masie do 1500kg (stosunek masy ładunku do masy śmigłowca do 35%), podwieszonych na linie o długości do 55m. Obecność podwieszonego ładunku modyfikuje charakterystyki dynamiczne i osiągi śmigłowca ze względu na silne sprzężenia aerodynamiczne i bezwładnościowe pomiędzy jego ruchem a ruchami śmigłowca. Ze względu na fakt, że układ śmigłowiec-podwieszony ładunek jest opisany za pomocą silnienieliniowych zwyczajnych równań różniczkowych, zastosowanie klasycznej analizy modalnej układu nie zawsze jest możliwe. Doskonałych narzędzi do badania takich równań dostarcza teoria układów dynamicznych i będąca jej częścią teoria bifurkacji. W pracy wykorzystano metodologię teorii układów dynamicznych do prognozowania natury niestabilności spowodowanej występującymi bifurkacjami. Ponadto przeprowadzono symulacje ruchu układu śmigłowiec-podwieszony ładunek po wystąpieniu bifurkacji.

Opis:
Vattimo is an author of so-called radicalized hermeneutics. In it he refers creatively to the counter-metaphysical nihilism of Nietzsche and Heidegger. He is accompanied by an intention of radicalization (weakening) both these positions with hope for clearing them of the remains of metaphysical thinking. The nihilistic accomplishment of hermeneutics Vattimo combines with its transition to the ethical position. However he polemizes with approaches, which develop “an ethical vocation” of hermeneutics either in the direction of the ethics of communication (like Habermas), or in the direction of the ethics of redescription (like Rorty), or in the direction of the ethics of continuation (like Gadamer). In their place Vattimo suggests the ethics of interpretation, which is rather ethics of goods than ethics of obligations. It is a kind of a retrospective (historical), pluralistic, relativistic ethics with a preference for the value of freedom.

In several papers published recently an opportunity is argued to develop investment strategies based on momentum and price continuation. This opinion seems to contradict the fundamental in the modern investment theory assumption of stock market efficiency. The aim of this study is to test the presence and determinants of the price continuation using data for WIG 20 Warsaw Stock Exchange market index.

Miejscowe plany zagospodarowania przestrzennego obowiązują na niewielkim obszarze gmin podmiejskich wokół miasta Białegostoku. Pojawia się problem zabudowy zagrodowej powstającej w oparciu o decyzje o warunkach zabudowy na terenach pozbawionych tzw. dobrego sąsiedztwa. Powoduje to rozlewanie się miasta oraz brak możliwości ochrony jakości przestrzeni przez gminy. Jedynym instrumentem przeciwdziałania chaotycznej zabudowie jest plan miejscowy. Brak motywacji gmin do sporządzania miejscowych planów zagospodarowania przestrzennego.
Local plans of spatial development are In force only in small area of suburban communes around the city of Białystok. The problem of farm building arises owning to outline planning decisions within the areas voided of so called "good neighborhood". This causes the sprawl of the city and the inability to protect area quality by the communes. The only instrument preventing from chaotic building is the local plan. Communes lack of motivation to draw up the local plans of spatial development.

We consider the Lowner-Kufarev differential equations generating univalent maps of the unit disk onto domains bounded by analytic Jordan curves. A solution to the problem of the maximal lifetime shows how long a representation of such functions admits using infinitesimal generators analytically extendable outside the unit disk. We construct a Lowner-Kufarev chain consisting of univalent quadratic polynomials and compare the Lowner-Kufarev representations of bounded and arbitrary univalent functions.

The article is a review of an extensive, two-volume collection of Miłosz’s statements entitled Rosja. Widzenia transoceaniczne [Russia: Transoceanic Views]. The reviewer, apart from a standard presentation and evaluation of the published work, attempts to discover a deeper sense of the decision to publish, “here and now”, Miłosz’s statements on Russian issues. The collection, which rounds up previously unknown texts written between 1936 and 2004, makes it possible to understand Miłosz’s writings on Russia as a continuation of Marian Zdziechowski’s essays written between the wars, where uncompromising denunciation of the “Eastern peril” was combined with deep respect and sympathy for a Russia that was not imperial.

We consider a pair of domains Ωb and Ωs in Rn and we assume that the closure of Ωb does not intersect the closure of ε Ωs for ε ∈ (0, ε 0). Then for a fixed ε ∈ (0, ε0)we consider a boundary value problem in Rn\ (Ωb ∪ εΩs) which describes the steady state Stokes flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past a body occupying the domain Ωb and past a small impurity occupying the ε Ωs. The unknown of the problem are the velocity field u and the pressure field p, and we impose the value of the velocity field u on the boundary both of the body and of the impurity. We assume that the boundary velocity on the impurity displays an arbitrarily strong singularity when ε tends to 0. The goal is to understand the behaviour of the strain energy of (u, p) for ε small and positive. The methods developed aim at representing the limiting behaviour in terms of analytic maps and possibly singular but completely known functions of ε, such as ε-1, log &epsilon.

Opis:
The purpose of the article is to study the trends of formal content representation, problem-thematic aspects of the traditional New Testament figurative plot material in a modern context. The theoretical and methodological concept of traditional plots and images of A. E. Niamtsu was chosen as a research methodology. Special attention is paid to the forms and ways of transformation of traditional structures suggested by A.E. Niamtsu: appendage, continuation and apocryphasation. The given article is a research one: our focus concentrates on the principles of the gospel’s artistic figurative plot material implementation in the context of twentieth century literature. The emphasize is given to the thought that the revival of the New Testament images, themes, motives in a modern context is connected with the society’s need to understand the existential contradictions of its’ era. Twentieth century literature is the most productive as to an active use of the traditional structures of the New Testament. The activation of the New Testament figurative plot material in the contemporary art process is caused by the loss of moral guidelines which accompanied the social processes of the twentieth century. The preservation of moral and psychological “core” of the known sample without which its further transformation is impossible and is confirmed to be dominant in the process of the New Testament plots and images rethinking. The main tendencies of rethinking the betrayal motive as a dominant in characteristics of Judas image are given as an example. One of the specific features of the genre of “the literary gospel” is the development of new plot lines, and also focusing the author’s attention on the secondary characters for the canonical text is noted. Hence the idea of the most productive forms of the New Testament collisions rethinking: continuation, appendage and apocryphasation is used. The main statements of the article may be used in the development of the courses “The History of Foreign Literature” and “The traditional plots and images”. The proposed research results will serve as the basis for further investigations of the complex problem “The New Testament and Literature”. The study of the New Testament traditional structure transformation is rather a perspective for further research of their individual aspects: conjugation peculiarities polyphony and modernity in new versions, the study of transformational polyphony of female characters of the New Testament and the perception study of the canonical text in the postmodern tendency.
Celem artykułu jest badanie formalnotreściowych i problemowo-tematycznych aspektów nowotestamentowego materiału dotyczącego fabuł i postaci we współczesnym kontekście. Jako metodologię badawczą wybrano teoretycznometodologiczną koncepcję tradycyjnych fabuł i postaci, autorem której jest A.Niamcu. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono zaproponowanym przez A.Niamcu formom i sposobom transformacji struktur tradycyjnych: dopisywaniu, kontynuacji, apokryfizacji. Niniejszy artykuł ma charakter badawczy: uwagę skupiono na zasadach inkorporacji ewangelicznego, artystycznego, fabularnego materiału do kontekstu literatury XX w. Zdaniem autorki, odrodzenie nowotestamentowych postaci, fabuł, wątków we współczesnym kontekście z reguły wiązano z tym, że społeczeństwo potrzebuje zrozumienia egzystencjalnych sprzeczności swojej epoki. Literatura XX wieku wykorzystuje najbardziej efektywnie tradycyjne struktury Nowego Testamentu. Aktywizacja nowotestamentowego materiału fabularnego we współczesnym procesie artystycznym spowodowana została konstatacją towarzyszącą procesom społecznym XX wieku w zakresie utraty orientacji moralnej. W artykule stwierdzono, że w toku nadania nowego sensu nowotestamentowym fabułom i postaciom przeważa zachowanie moralnopsychologicznego „jądra” ze znanym wzorem, bez którego dalsza transformacja jest niemożliwa. Przykładem może być nadanie nowego sensu motywom zdrady, która jest główną cechą charakteryzującą postać Judasza. Skonstatowano, że specyficzną cechą „ewangelii literackiej” jest opracowanie nowych linii fabularnych oraz skupienie uwagi autora utworu na postaciach, które w tekście kanonicznym są drugorzędne. Z podstawowych twierdzeń artykułu można skorzystać przy opracowaniu kursów „Historia literatury obcej”, „Tradycyjne fabuły i postaci”. Uzyskane rezultaty mogą być podstawą dla dalszych badań problemu kompleksowego „Nowy Testament a literatura” oraz jego poszczególnych aspektów, a mianowicie osobliwości połączenia w nowych wersjach przestrzeni i czasu fabuły pierwotnej oraz współczesności; badanie transformacyjnej polifonii nowotestamentowych postaci kobiecych; studiowanie postrzegania tekstu kanonicznego z punktu widzenia postmodernizmu.

Purpose: Recently, magic has been given increasing attention by psychologists for what it can reveal about how the human cognitive system works. This paper examines whether these same cognitive processes are at play in another arena, specifi cally, the presentation of financial accounting� information. Approach: The authors reviewed the fi ndings of cognitive scientists from their studies of magicians and applied these to the activities of professional accountants. Findings: Specifi c cognitive processes which magicians and accountants take advantage of, explicitly for one and implicitly for the other, are the same: good continuation, habituation, and attentional capture. Value: Further research regarding such interactions between accounting and cognition has potential for enhancing our understanding of both. Certainly at this particular point in accounting history, as standard setters seem to be moving ever closer to implementing some version of a principles-based accounting regime versus our current rules-based accounting regime, it is worthwhile to contemplate the conscious and subconscious effects of cognitive processes on how individuals perceive financial information.

The paper deals with news linguistic tendencies in the creation of modern names of retail and service. It is described not only transonymisation, onymisation, but also morphological constituents of modern names of retail and service. Units created by suffixes and references to another names are considered as a fashionable. The first are neologisms and one creates them by means of morphemes -nia (-ownia) oraz -arnia, -ernia, -eria, -teka. The latter are created for free form using of proper or common name that they allow for finding their initial structure (Szmatrix < Matrix).

The paper considers a problem of analytic continuation of solutions of some nonlinear convolution partial differential equations which naturally appear in the summa-bility theory of formal solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations. Under a suitable assumption it is proved that any local holomorphic solution has an analytic extension to a certain sector and its extension has exponential growth when the variable goes to infinity in the sector.

Opis:
This paper presents a conception of the harvester-absorber system consisting of two parts. The first is the pendulum attached to the main system (oscillator), which is suspended on the linear damper and the nonlinear spring made of shape memory alloy. The spring is modelled as a polynomial function based on Landau–Ginzburg theory of phase transitions (similar as ferroelectric and ferromagnets). The obtained results show, that SMA element can increase harvesting energy level, while the absorber effect can be impaired (but not loss). Additionally, introducing SMA element causes changes in dynamics, introduces a new unstable solutions and bifurcations. The analysis was done by classical integration and continuation solution methods.

This article is concerned with the study of the Borel summability of divergent power series solutions for certain singular first-order linear partial differential equations of nilpotent type. Our main purpose is to obtain conditions which coefficients of equations should satisfy in order to ensure the Borel summability of divergent solutions. We will see that there is a close affinity between the Borel summability of divergent solutions and global analytic continuation properties for coefficients of equations.
