Elementary estimates for the Riesz kernel and for its derivative are given. Using these we show that the maximal operator of the Riesz means of a tempered distribution is bounded from $H_p(ℝ)$ to $L_p(ℝ)$ (1/(α+1) < p < ∞) and is of weak type (1,1), where $H_p(ℝ)$ is the classical Hardy space. As a consequence we deduce that the Riesz means of a function $⨍ ∈ L_1(ℝ)$ converge a.e. to ⨍. Moreover, we prove that the Riesz means are uniformly bounded on $H_p(ℝ)$ whenever 1/(α+1) < p < ∞. Thus, in case $⨍ ∈ H_p(ℝ)$, the Riesz means converge to ⨍ in $H_p(ℝ)$ norm (1/(α+1) < p < ∞). The same results are proved for the conjugate Riesz means and for Fourier series of distributions.

We study $L^p$ norm convergence of Bochner-Riesz means $S_R^δ f$ associated with certain non-negative differential operators. When the kernel $S_R^m(x,y)$ satisfies a weak estimate for large values of m we prove $L^p$ norm convergence of $S_R^δ f$ for δ > n|1/p-1/2|, 1 < p < ∞, where n is the dimension of the underlying manifold.

Important information perceived by human vision comes from the low-level features of the image, which can be extracted by the Riesz transform. In this study, we propose a Riesz transform based approach to image fusion. The image to be fused is first decomposed using the Riesz transform. Then the image sequence obtained in the Riesz transform domain is subjected to the Laplacian wavelet transform based on the fractional Laplacian operators and the multi-harmonic splines. After Laplacian wavelet transform, the image representations have directional and multi-resolution characteristics. Finally, image fusion is performed, leveraging Riesz-Laplace wavelet analysis and the global coupling characteristics of pulse coupled neural network (PCNN). The proposed approach has been tested in several application scenarios, such as multi-focus imaging, medical imaging, remote sensing full-color imaging, and multi-spectral imaging. Compared with conventional methods, the proposed approach demonstrates superior performance on visual effects, contrast, clarity, and the overall efficiency.

In this paper we study the concept of almost lacunary statistical Cesa'ro of Γ3 over probabilistic p- metric spaces defined by Musielak Orlicz function. Since the study of convergence in PP-spaces is fundamental to probabilistic functional analysis, we feel that the concept of almost lacunary statistical Cesàro of Γ3 over probabilistic p- metric spaces defined by Musielak-Orlicz function in a PP-space would provide a more general framework for the subject.

We apply a construction of generalized twisted convolution to investigate almost everywhere summability of expansions with respect to the orthonormal system of functions $ℓ_n^a(x) = (n!/Γ(n+a+1))^{1/2} e^{-x/2} L_n^a(x)$, n = 0,1,2,..., in $L^2(ℝ_+, x^adx)$, a ≥ 0. We prove that the Cesàro means of order δ > a + 2/3 of any function $f ∈ L^p(x^adx)$, 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞, converge to f a.e. The main tool we use is a Hardy-Littlewood type maximal operator associated with a generalized Euclidean convolution.

In this paper we introduce function spaces denoted by [formula] as subspaces of Lp that we call deformed Besov-Hankel spaces. We provide characterizations of these spaces in terms of Bochner-Riesz means in the case 1 ≤ p ≤ +∞ and in terms of partial Hankel integrals in the case 1 < p < +∞ associated to the deformed Hankel operator by a parameter k > 0. For p = r = +∞, we obtain an approximation result involving partial Hankel integrals.

The equation which describes the small vibrations of a nonhomogeneous damped string can be rewritten as an abstract Cauchy problem for the densely defined closed operator iA. We prove that the set of root vectors of the operator A forms a basis of subspaces in a certain Hilbert space H. Furthermore, we give the rate of convergence for the decomposition with respect to this basis. In the second main result we show that with additional assumptions the set of root vectors of the operator A is a Riesz basis for H.

In the paper a new, state space, non integer order model of an one-dimensional heat transfer process is proposed. The model uses a new operator with Mittag-Leffler kernel, proposed by Atangana and Beleanu. The non integer order spatial derivative is expressed by Riesz operator. Analytical formula of the step response is given, the convergence of the model is discussed too. Theoretical results are verified by experiments.

The paper is intended to show a new state space, non integer order model of an one-dimensional heat transfer process. The proposed model derives directly from time continuous, state space semigroup model. The fractional order derivative with respect to time is by a new operator proposed by Caputo and Fabrizio, the non integer order spatial derivative is expressed by Riesz operator. The Caputo-Fabrizio operator can be directly implementated using MATLAB, because it does not require us to apply any approximation. Analytical formulae of step response are given, the system decomposition was discussed also. Main results from the paper show that the use of Caputo Fabrizio operator allows us to obtain the simple in implementation and analysis model of the considered heat transfer process. The accuracy of the proposed model in the sense of a MSE cost function is satisfying.

The primary goal of our article is to implement some standard spin geometry techniques related to the study of Dirac and Laplace operators on Dirac vector bundles into the multidimensional theory of Hilbert space operators. The transition from spin geometry to operator theory relies on the use of Clifford environments, which essentially are Clifford algebra augmentations of unital complex C*-algebras that enable one to set up counterparts of the geometric Bochner-Weitzenbock and Bochner-Kodaira-Nakano curvature identities for systems of elements of a C*-algebra. The so derived self-commutator identities in conjunction with Bochner’s method provide a natural motivation for the definitions of several types of seminormal systems of operators. As part of their study, we single out certain spectral properties, introduce and analyze a singular integral model that involves Riesz transforms, and prove some self-commutator inequalities.

We derive lower two-weight estimates for the essential norm (measure of noncompactness) for multilinear Hilbert and Riesz transforms, and Riesz potential operators in Banach function lattices. As a corollary we have appropriate results in weighted Lebesgue spaces. From these statements we conclude that there is no \((m+1)\)-tuple of weights \((v,w_1, \dots, w_m)\) for which these operators are compact from \(L^{p_1}_{w_1} \times \dots \times L^{p_m}_{w_m}\) to \(L^q_v\).

For different reasons it is very useful to have at one's disposal a duality formula for the fractional powers of the Laplacean, namely, $((-Δ)^α u,ϕ ) = (u,(-Δ)^α ϕ)$, α ∈ ℂ, for ϕ belonging to a suitable function space and u to its topological dual. Unfortunately, this formula makes no sense in the classical spaces of distributions. For this reason we introduce a new space of distributions where the above formula can be established. Finally, we apply this distributional point of view on the fractional powers of the Laplacean to obtain some properties of the Riesz potentials in a wide class of spaces which contains the $L^p$-spaces.
