The concept of quality is inextricably related to achieving assigned purposes by an organization in an effective and efficient manner1 . When it comes to high quality of audits, it is manifested primarily by conducting procedures according to standards recognized not only at the national, but also international level2 . Like any term, “quality” needs some explanation as well. The aim of the article is to outline the issues of quality assurance and control according to the current international standards (The INTOSAI Framework of Professional Pronouncements, IFPP). The analysis of the documents indicates imprecision and inconsistency of the existing approach with regard to the separated parts of the above-mentioned system. The following sections of the article refer to the understanding of the issues of quality assurance and control in individual principles, standards and guidelines of INTOSAI in order to finally formulate the concept of the chain quality that can be concluded from these documents.

Opis:
Quality Control (QC) is an active process that detects defects in a product claimed to be ready for delivery, so it can be said that QC is the key to maintaining quality. Although quantitative quality control methods based on numbers and measurements provide tangible implications with more reliable results, qualitative measurements are also important for the quality control process. When manufacturers apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative quality control methods in their production processes, they can identify problems in products and produce appropriate solutions. In this research, quality control practices are examined and their effects on the sustainability of quality are investigated. In addition, the functioning of Quality Control methods is revealed, and the usage areas and forms of the methods are examined with examples. While evaluating the Quality and Quality Control methods, which are discussed in a wide range, other titles under the title of Quality are also included within the framework of this study. In today's conditions, the improvement of concepts such as time, less cost, and quality production that gains in value in the production process is directly related to the adequacy of quality control. The aim of this paper is to solve the quality problems in the production process of manufacturing organizations by investigating various technical quality control methods used to improve all these concepts. By eliminating the quality problems and minimizing the losses, the profitability level of the organization will be increased, along with this, the quality will be improved and become sustainable.

The paper presents the results of a comparative analysis of the two methods of statistical quality control of products. That two methods differ from each other mainly by a way of determining a subset of products subjected to inspection. The first of the two methods, hereinafter referred to as the completely random method, is to draw a certain number of products for control of the entire products population. The second method, called the method of drawing from partitions, is a pre-split across the specific products population into smaller parts, called partitions, and then create a representation (sample) of the products subject to control by drawing the products from each partition. The main result of this study is to determine the conditions for which the effectiveness of quality control methods with drawing from partitions is not less than the efficiency of the method with fully random drawing, whereby the efficiency criterion is the likelihood of the event, consisting in the fact that there is at least one incorrect product among the drawn products. The considerations were illustrated by numerical examples, designed to compare the effectiveness of the analyzed methods of quality control.

The aim of a quality assurance program is to assist a radio-diagnostic facility in consistently obtaining adequate radiological information with a minimum of dose and a minimum of cost. An integrated part of a quality assurance program is quality control ascertaining quality by measurements and other procedures. When procuring equipment, a specification is worked out taking into account all aspects of the performance of the equipment including the desired tolerances of technique factors. In this study the seven tests (beam alignment, beam collimation, reproducibility, accuracy of kv, time accuracy, half value layer (HVL) and leakage) were carried out for the newly installed General X-Ray machine at Nuclear Malaysia and were in the acceptable limits. Such a test will be the responsibility of a qualified physicist or engineer. The status test is carried out in order to establish the functional status of the equipment. The test is performed immediately after the acceptance test or as an integrated part of it. The test will be repeated when repair influencing the functional status has taken place like the acceptance test; the status test will comprise absolute measurements and will likewise be the responsibility of a qualified physicist or engineer.

The article specifies the dependence of defects occurring in the lamination process in the production of yachts. Despite great knowledge about their genesis, they cannot be completely eliminated. Authentic data obtained through cooperation with one of the Polish yacht shipyards during the years 2013–2017 were used for the analysis. To perform a simulation, the sample size was observed in 1450 samples, consisting of 6 models of yachts with closed and open deck. Finding the dependence of the occurrence of specific defects will allow for faster procedures and more effective quality control, which will contribute to lower costs. The use of new methods based on artificial intelligence related to Big Data allows for easier observation of dependencies in the complex structure of data from yacht production. The association rules were defined using the algorithm Apriori and define interdependent defects. A number of dependencies were found for the occurrence of production defects not obvious to technologists, but occurring with a high probability of coexistence. The presented research results may allow the planning process of production tasks to be improved.

Aerosol products are present in different industries including cosmetic, technical, household and many more. These products are subject to number of controls both at the pre-production, in-process and post-production stages. Controls at the pre-production stage relate to checking the conformity of individual components that make up the aerosol packaging, as well as raw materials that are used to create the formula. The checks carried out during the production process are mainly focused on the verification of parameters at particular stages of production. Whereas, post-production checks are related to the evaluation of the finished product. Due to the highest share of metal packaging in the aerosol products market, such products are the subject of this article.

In this paper, the applications of the multivariate data analysis and optimization on vibration signals from compressors have been tested on the assembly line to identify nonconforming products. The multivariate analysis has wide applicability in the optimization of weather forecasting, agricultural experiments, or, as in this case study, in quality control. The techniques of discriminant analysis and linear program were used to solve the problem. The acceleration and velocity signals used in this work were measured in twenty-five rotating compressors, of which eleven were classified as good baseline compressors and fourteen with manufacturing defects by the specialists in the final acoustic test of the production line. The results obtained with the discriminant analysis separated the conforming and nonconforming groups with a significance level of 0.01, which validated the proposed methodology.

Quality control is a system that facilitates companies make certain that their products or services meet specific first-rate requirements. Quality is defined as the diploma of excellence or superiority that a products or services possesses, whilst control is the method of tracking, inspecting, and comparing products and services to ensure they meet unique necessities. Quality control is the system of mixing these two standards to make sure that products and services meet the preferred level of quality. This article examines the role of quality control in improving service or product quality. It provides definitions of quality, control, and quality control and explains the different types of control and quality control that organizations can use to improve the quality of their products or services. There are various sorts of control, which includes direct control, technical control, and bureautical control, and every kind focuses on different aspects of the quality control technique. Also, there are different types of quality control, which include internal and external quality control. By implementing quality control measures, organizations can perceive and deal with quality issues earlier than they come to be primary issues. This article also high- lights the benefit of quality control, including increased customer satisfaction, improved efficiency and reduced cost. It also addresses the challenges and limitations of quality control, and the need for continuous evaluation and improvement. At the end, quality control is an important tool for organizations looking to improve the quality of their products or services, increase customer satisfaction, and maintain a competitive advantage in the market.
Kontrola jakości to system, który umożliwia firmom upewnienie się, że ich produkty lub usługi spełniają określone wymagania jakościowe. Jakość definiuje się jako stopień doskonałości lub wyższości, jaką produkt lub usługa posiada, podczas gdy kontrola to metoda monitorowania, badania i porównywania produktów i usług w celu zapewnienia, że spełniają one określone wymagania. Kontrola jakości to proces łączenia tych dwóch kryteriów w celu zapewnienia, że produkty i usługi spełniają pożądany poziom jakości. W tym artykule omówiono rolę kontroli jakości w poprawie jakości usług lub produktów. Przedstawiono definicje jakości, kontroli i kontroli jakości oraz wyjaśniono różne rodzaje kontroli i kontroli jakości, których organizacje mogą użyć do poprawy jakości swoich produktów lub usług. It also presents information on how to formalize actions resulted in the effects of a particular organization providing laundry services.
W artykule tym zaprezentowano charakterystykę procesu w profesjonalnej pralni chemicznej. Jako cel przyjęto identyfikację i opis zasadniczych punktów sterowania jakością (PSJ) w tego typu procesach. Przedstawiono też informacje, jak działania formalizujące PSJ przełożyły się na efekty konkretnej organizacji świadczącej usługi pralnicze.

The quality control aiming to provide a desired level of quality of produced products, requires bearing significant expenses. The structure of expenditure spent on quality assurance, due to its multidimensional nature, should be known and constantly monitored in order to detect the changes taking place therein. In this paper a proposal for a method to verify the hypothesis about the stability of the cost structure is presented. The method applies a statistical testing procedure based on permutations. In the presented example the real data coming from the acceptance inspection carried out in factory in Silesia have been used.

The BAM-Fallhammer is a mechanical device to test the impact sensitivity of explosives and to determine a sensitiveness level. By its construction it transforms potential energy into kinetic energy of an impacting hammer, then hitting the sample. Ideally the entire potential energy is available at the moment of impact and the supporting base is infinitely rigid. By this study we want to quantify how much a real Fallhammer deviates from the ideal concept, and what the differences between different Fallhammers in different laboratories are. This information has never been collected in a consistent way. The aim of the authors is to develop guidance on the mechanical properties of the Fallhammer, which can be used for different purposes such as internal quality control, validation of the correct functioning of the Fallhammer, preparation of Round-Robin tests and similar. An established and verified mechanical status of a Fallhammer would greatly improve the quality and comparability of results and Round-Robin tests on the impact sensitivity of explosives.

In the era of global market and internationalization of enterprises, an extremely important element influencing the competitiveness of companies is ensuring high quality of manufactured products, taking into account the requirements and expectations of buyers. At the moment when defects appear in the manufactured product, the production plant ceases to meet the expectations of customers. Not only is this related to the costs of production or complaints, but above all to the loss of credibility and good customer opinion. It is extremely important to identify and analyze the causes of this phenomenon as soon as possible, without allowing it to repeat itself. The problem of manufacturing defects becomes even more important when it poses a threat to the health or life of the customer. This also applies to products manufactured for the purposes of food protection. This article presents the results of the research that enabled the development of a method to reduce the production defects of a selected product in a glass factory. In order to achieve the goal, an analysis of the production process of the selected glass packaging was carried out, which allowed to identify defects and determine the causes and effects of their formation. Based on the presented research results, improvement measures have been proposed, consisting in developing a new organization of work in the area of quality control.

W artykule opisano metody stosowane w celach kontroli jakości produkowanych wyrobów - masek medycznych w zakładzie produkcyjnym. Jednym z rozwiązań mających na celu poprawę jakości produkowanych masek medycznych oraz nadzoru nad produkcją jest wprowadzenie tzw. naukowej organizacji pracy (NOP). W artykule omówiono ogólne zasady postępowania podczas kontroli jakościowo – pomiarowej maski medycznej typu II. W trakcie procesu kontroli jakości masek stosowano dwie metody badawcze – wizualną oraz laboratoryjną. Metody te pozwoliły na uzyskanie najbardziej miarodajnych wyników, a tym samym umożliwiły w szybki i rzetelny, ale nie skomplikowany sposób, zareagować w przypadku powstałych, widocznych uszkodzeń celem wytworzenia powtarzalnego, a jednocześnie wysokiej jakości wyrobu.
The article presents methods used to control the quality of manufactured products – such as medical face masks. One of the methods of improving the quality of manufactured medical masks and production supervision is the use of the so-called Management and Organizational Science (MOS). The article discusses the general rules of conduct for quality and measurement control of type II medical mask. Two mutually complementary - visual and laboratory research methods were used in the mask quality control process. These methods made it possible to obtain the most reliable results, and to react quickly and reliably, yet not in a too complicated manner, in the event of occurrence of a visible product defect in order to produce a repeatable and high-quality products.

The visual method is one of the most important control methods in spite of the developing information technologies and very high automation of the production process. The aim of the article is to analyze the quality control of a selected part of the production process of pistons for passenger cars, for which the visual method is used, and to evaluate the application of this method as well as its influence on the improvement of the presented production process. The analysis made it possible to assess the impact of the type of non-compliance and location on the effectiveness of controls. Thanks to the analysis carried out, the dominant influence of factors, which depend on the person performing the control, on the effectiveness of the control was found.

In statistical quality control objects are alternatively rated. It is of interest to estimate a fraction of negatively rated objects. One of such applications is a quality control provided by Supreme Chamber of Control (NIK) to find out a percentage of abnormalities in the work among others of tax offices. Mathematical details of experimental designs for alternatively rated phenomena are given in Karliński (2003). There are given requirements for sample sizes, numbers of negative rates, accuracy of estimation and error risks. In the paper, some statistical properties of given plans are investigated.

Quality control gears o aircraft gearbox has become a key component in today's manufacturing process. Optical 3D scanning, based on the principle of fringe projection, has proven to be both an accurate and cost-effective alternative delivering more dimensional information to aid in quality control and process optimization by creating more meaningful measuring reports. The ATOS 3D BLUE LIGHT optical scanner has a unique capability of being user-configurable to address various measuring requirements. This is accomplished via the user’s ability to change measuring volumes in minutes, in order to increase scan data resolution or increase the measuring field of view. The paper present the opportunity to automate the measurement process of bevel gears, using coordinated optical scanner ATOS 3D "white light" version and "blue light" version. Using coordinate measuring technique, you can specify a set of methods and procedures for the designation of the complex dimensions of physical objects and transform them into a computer program space of coordinate measuring devices. The topics included in the article are intended to show the capabilities of the device used to improve the measurement process and shorten its time, and hence, lower its costs in both version of ATOS Scanner. Another thing described in the paper is the impact of measurement performance in automatic mode on the quality of performance - the numerical image of scanned surface, from the standpoint of accuracy and number of collected data points in the shortest time. The article includes an analysis of conditions related to the measurement works, such as the process of preparing the model and measurement equipment and data processing capacity.

Zinc-65 was produced in the Nuclear Research Center for Agriculture and Medicine (NRCAM) by the bombardment of natural copper targets with 30 MeV protons via the 65Cu(p,n)65Zn nuclear reaction. Natural copper was used instead of enriched 65Cu because of the quick decay of undesired radioisotopes. It was also more desirable for cost effectiveness. Cross-section calculations were performed by ALICE nuclear code and the results were compared with the experimental data given in the literature, which showed good agreement. A 160 mi m copper layer target was bombarded with a 150 miA current of 30 MeV protons for 20 min, which resulted in 170 MBq activity of 65Zn product. The yield was 3.4 MBq/miAh. The concentration of the product was 6.8 MBq/ml. Radiochemical separation was carried out by anion exchange chromatography with the yield of about 98%. Quality control of the final product showed a radionuclide purity of more than 98% and no traces of possible impurities (copper) were detected by a colorimetric method with a 1 ppm detection limit using dithizone as the reagent. The materials used for targetry and chemical separation were quite cost-effective.

Opis:
The insensitive high explosive 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazol-5-one (NTO) is a weak acid (pKa 3.76) due to the labile N–H bond. The weakly acidic character of this compound is exploited for its assay by aqueous acid-base titration. The NTO sample was dissolved in water and the resultant solution was titrated against 0.07 N NaOH solution using phenolphthalein as indicator. Regular batch samples were assayed by this method and the results were compared with those obtained by the HPLC method. The aqueous acid-base titration method was found to be suitable for the quality control of the product.

W pracy przedstawiono wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące oceny jakości procesów technologicznych oraz wyrobów. Przedstawiono sposoby oceny jakości za pomocą wskaźników zdolności maszyn i urządzeń na bazie metodyki SPC. Zamieszczono także ocenę dokładności wyrobów z wykorzystaniem rentgenowskiej tomografii komputerowej. Do oceny zaproponowano wzorce przestrzenne oraz strategię umożliwiającą porównanie urządzeń pomiarowych względem siebie i ocenę dokładności odwzorowania badanych wyrobów.
Chosen aspects of quality estimation of technological processes and products were presented in this paper. Methods of quality estimation which use process and machine capability indices according to SPC framework were also presented. Next part of paper concerns topics connected with products accuracy evaluation using Computed Tomography. Spatial standards were proposed to use in accuracy evaluation. Paper also shows strategy of comparison of different metrological devices in order to evaluate accuracy of shape mapping of measured products.

Acceptance sampling is commonly used in factories, because it decreases the probability of giving defective batch to the customer. From two distinguished ways of acceptance sampling, more frequently in practice is used an attribute sampling method. The purpose of this article is to emphasize the benefits of using acceptance sampling by variables.
Kontrola odbiorcza jest powszechnie stosowana w przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych, gdyż zmniejsza ona prawdopodobieństwo przekazania klientowi wadliwej partii produktów. Z wyróżnionych dwóch sposobów kontroli odbiorczej częściej wykorzystywana w praktyce jest kontrola według oceny alternatywnej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest podkreślenie korzyści wynikających ze stosowania liczbowych planów kontroli odbiorczej.

In this study, control charts were prepared using data received from a particleboard manufacturer to determine the factors that impair quality, and the most suitable control charts for the company were specified accordingly. The study material consisted of the tensile strength values of boards taken from a factory over three months. Shewhart, CUSUM and EWMA control charts were used for variable quantities to achieve the targeted quality level. It was concluded from the research that interdependent and independent evaluation of the data observed during particleboard manufacturing was required; therefore, the combined use of CUSUM and Shewhart control charts was proposed.

Kontrola jakości aparatury ultrasonograficznej budzi wiele kontrowersji. W Polsce opiera się ona na błędnym założeniu, że ultrasonografia jest nieszkodliwa, nie powinna zatem podlegać takiej kontroli jak metody diagnostyczne bazujące na promieniowaniu jonizującym. Powyższe nie eliminuje jednak potrzeby prowadzenia testów kontroli jakości. Kryterium braku szkodliwości nie zmienia faktu, że nieprawidłowe funkcjonowanie systemu obrazowania może stanowić zagrożenie dla zdrowia i życia pacjentów ze względu na błędną diagnozę. W artykule zaproponowano schemat postępowania w zakresie oceny ultrasonografów, sond, protokołu pomiarowego oraz uzyskanych wyników i weryfikacji poprawności rejestracji obrazu.
The quality control of the ultrasound equipment is controversial. In Poland, it is based on the erroneous assumption that ultrasonography is harmless, therefore it should not be subject to such control as diagnostic methods based on ionizing radiation. However, the above does not eliminate the need to conduct quality control tests. The non-harmfulness criterion does not change the fact that improper functioning of the imaging system may pose a threat to the health and life of patients due to incorrect diagnosis. The article proposes a procedure for the assessment of ultrasound scanners, probes, measurement protocol, the obtained results and verification of the correctness of image registration.

A human quality control system in furniture manufacturing – a pilot study. The article presents the results of pilot studies in which an attempt was made to check what the subjectivity of visual inspection looks like during the control of MDF delamination process in the milling process. 100% match of assessors’ scores was obtained only with low (VB = 0–0.08mm) and high (VB = 0.3–0.33mm) tool wear. In addition, the impact of gender on the results was significant. Women rated items less restrictively. Based on the results obtained, one can expect a problem with subjectivity when using a single-person human quality control system.
Kontrola jakości przez człowieka w produkcji mebli - badanie pilotażowe. W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań pilotażowych, w których podjęto próbę sprawdzenia jak wygląda problem podmiotowość kontroli wzrokowej podczas kontroli procesu delaminacji MDF w procesie frezowania. Stuprocentową zgodność ocen sędziów otrzymano jedynie przy niskim (VB=0–0,08mm) oraz wysokim (VB=0,3–0,33 mm) zużyciu narzędzia. Ponadto wpływ płci na wyniki okazał się istotny. Kobiety oceniały przedmioty mniej restrykcyjnie. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników można spodziewać się problemu z subiektywnością w przypadku zastosowania jednoosobowego systemu kontroli jakości przez człowieka.
