Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości i potrzeb edukacji geograficznej dotyczącej krajobrazów kulturowych prowadzonej nad Odrą, z perspektywy obserwowanej rzeki. Uwzględniono zakres merytoryczny i dydaktyczny tej edukacji; zaprezentowano różne typy nadodrzańskich krajobrazów kulturowych i ich elementów. Przedstawiono ich zróżnicowanie i wyjaśniono jego przyczyny (uwarunkowania i czynniki geograficzne oraz historyczne).
The purpose of this article is to present the need and opportunity of geographical education about cultural landscapes which is performed on the Oder river. The author included substantive and didactical scopes of such education and presented various types of the Oder river cultural landscapes and their components, as well as emphasized their diversity and explained its causes (geographical and historical factors and conditions).

Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań stanu technicznego wałów przeciwpowodziowych zlokalizowanych na lewym brzegu Odry, w 432,60--442,80 km biegu rzeki. Jest to wał II klasy, o długości 12,0 km, chroniący miejscowości: Nowa Sól (Pleszówek), Koserz, Modrzyca, Otyń i Bobrowniki oraz przyległe do nich tereny upraw rolnych. Zakres wykonanych prac był zgodny z obowiązującymi normatywami i obejmował: badania terenowe (kartowanie, sondowanie sondą DPL oraz wiercenia małośrednicowe), badania laboratoryjne (określenie wiodących parametrów gruntu: rodzaju gruntu, gęstości objętościowej, wilgotności, stopnia plastyczności, współczynnika filtracji, zawartości części organicznych i in.) oraz ocenę stanu technicznego wału pod kątem skutecznej ochrony przeciwpowodziowej. Przeprowadzone badania wskazują, że wał jest na ogół w średnim stanie technicznym, a remont wałów należy w pierwszej kolejności przeprowadzić we fragmentach najbardziej zagrożonych osuwiskami, tzn. w km 0+200-1+050, km 1+550, km 2+450 oraz km 5+330.
This article presents the results of the technical condition study of the embankments located on the left bank of the Oder river, at 432.60-442.80 km river section. It is a second class embankment, a length of 12.0 kilometres, which protects the following towns: Nowa Sól (Pleszówek), Koserz, Modrzyca, Otyń and Bobrowniki together with adjacent areas of agricultural crops. The scope of works was consistent with the standards and included: fieldwork (stocktalking, probing with DPL probe and small-diameter drilling), laboratory tests (to determine the leading parameters of soil: soil type, bulk density, humidity, degree of plasticity, filtration factor, the organic content, etc.) and assessing the technical condition of the embankment as for its effective flood protection. The studies indicate that the embankment is generally in the medium condition, and primarily the repair of embankments should be carried out in the most vulnerable parts of the landslide, ie at km 0+200-1+050 km 1+550, km 2+450 and km 5+330.

Flood protection in Lubuskie province is implemented many methods that demonstrating different efficiency. Selection of appropriate method is depends on many factors, including available surface if particular area, geological-engineering conditions of the subsoil, technologies and financial resources. This article is an attempt to systematize the knowledge of the methods used for flood protection in Lubuskie province.

Opis:
The durability of hydrotechnical structures, especially flood embankments, depends largely on the correct identification of natural phenomena occurring in both the embankment body and the foundation. Such a phenomenon - particularly important from a flood protection viewpoint – is water filtration through the embankment. It turns out that it can be effectively reduced by applying various types of anti-filtration barriers in the embankment fill material and the foundation. In the paper the results of statistical analysis of the impact of the sealing technology on the level of water in the piezometers (installed on both sides of the seal) and findings on the relationship between the water level height in a flood embankment area and the type of seal, and the period (month) of a given hydrological year are presented.
Trwałość budowli hydrotechnicznych, w tym szczególnie wałów przeciwpowodziowych, zależy w dużym stopniu od właściwego rozpoznania zjawisk naturalnych zachodzących zarówno w korpusie, jak i podłożu wału. Takim zjawiskiem – szczególnie istotnym z punktu widzenia ochrony przeciwpowodziowej – jest filtracja wody przez wał. Okazuje się, że można ją skutecznie ograniczyć poprzez zastosowanie w nasypie i podłożu wału różnego rodzaju przegród przeciwfiltracyjnych. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki modelowych badań wpływu technologii uszczelnienia na poziom wody w piezometrach (zainstalowanych po obu stronach uszczelnienia) i ustalenia zależności pomiędzy wysokością poziomu wody w rejonie wału przeciwpowodziowego i rodzajem uszczelnienia, a także okresem (miesiącem) danego roku hydrologicznego. Badania przeprowadzono na odcinku zlokalizowanym na prawym brzegu Odry w od 546,0 do 564,8 km jej biegu. W celu ograniczenia filtracji wody przez wał i zmniejszenia ryzyka wystąpienia powodzi w rejonie, w ramach prac modernizacyjnych, na przedmiotowym odcinku wałów, zostały zainstalowane cztery różne technologie uszczelnienia: a) folia PVC uszczelniająca korpus wału, b) folia PVC uszczelniająca korpus wału połączona ze ścianką szczelną C-LOC uszczelniającą podłoże wału, c) bentomata uszczelniająca korpus wału, d) bentomata uszczelniająca korpus wału, lokalnie połączona ze ścianką ilastą uszczelniającą podłoże wału. Otrzymane wyniki badań wskazują na możliwość ograniczenia filtracji wody przez wał poprzez zastosowanie różnych ekranów przeciwfiltracyjnych oraz opisują zależność pomiędzy technologią uszczelnienia, okresem w roku hydrologicznym a poziomem wody w rejonie wału.

The author aims at presenting examples of literary descriptions of Odra flooding (especially in the context of the most recent in 1997 and 2010) and the river regions in the perspective of aquacriticism. This approach belongs to a wider concept of ecocriticism which perceives the river as a key part of environment. The question being posed is what kind of influence can be traced in literary texts representing floods and how does literature influence perception of aquatic catastrophes such as floods. Since flood belongs to the catastrophe discourse, it blurs anthropocentric knowledge on rivers and indicates aquacentric modes of recognition. The ecoparadigmatic role of Odra is indicated by Silesian authors (in the collection Wie die Oder rauscht ) and writers biographically connected with the river (Tokarczuk). The environmental function of the river can be better acknowledged through literary fiction that “gives voice to the river”.

The article is the result of research into Euroregions with Polish subjects after Polish accession to the European Union. Its contents are a reflection on a possible introduction of German concept of the appointment of a large, two-sided Euroregion covering the eastern lands of Germany and the western provinces of Poland. The publication also contains a historical outline of similar concepts that have arisen in our western neighbours since 1990. It shows the kind of way both parties of the cooperation passed through to get the status quo, which, due to mutual partner treatment, enables the rapprochement of both societies as well as achieving a higher level of the economic development in the region. There has been an evolution in our neighbours’ perception of the Polish western provinces, the infrastructure and economic system of the region. You can venture to say that Polish - German cooperation within the Partnership Oder has created a new quality in the field of interregional partnerships in this part of Europe.

Large rivers have played and continue to play a highly significant role in the development of societies and countries. The specific nature of the Oder River in the past was determined by the variability of state affiliations and the functions assigned to it. In the competition for dominion over the entire course of the river or over selected sections of it, Czech, Polish, German and Scandinavian influences clashed at different times. Today, a new definition of the role played by the Oder in the context of an increasingly integrated Europe and the evolution of the relevance of national borders is urgently needed. Previous research in this area is seriously inadequate. Studies written in German, as well as in Polish academic circles, should be considered factually incomplete and methodologically outdated. The authors propose a new program of research on the history, present day and prospects for the development of the Oder and the Oder River region. Their starting point should be detailed archival searches conducted in Poland and Germany, as well as an analysis of contemporary concepts of river use for the nations and communities along the Oder River. The article contains the main tenets of such research and its concept.
Duże rzeki odgrywały i nadal odgrywają bardzo istotną rolę w rozwoju społeczeństw i państw. O specyfice Odry w przeszłości decydowała zmienność przynależności państwowej i funkcji, jakie jej wyznaczano. W rywalizacji o panowanie nad całym biegiem rzeki lub nad wybranymi jej odcinkami w różnych okresach ścierały się wpływy czeskie, polskie, niemieckie i skandynawskie. Współcześnie pilną potrzebą jest nowe zdefiniowanie roli Odry w warunkach integrującej się Europy i ewolucji znaczenia granic państwowych. Dotychczasowe badania w tym zakresie są dalece niewystarczające. Opracowania powstałe zarówno w niemieckim, jak i w polskim środowisku naukowym należy uznać za nie- pełne merytorycznie i przestarzałe metodologicznie. W związku z tym autorzy proponują nowy program studiów nad dziejami, współczesnością i perspektywami rozwoju Odry i Nadodrza. Bazą tych badań powinny być szczegółowe kwerendy archiwalne prowadzone w Polsce i w Niemczech oraz analiza współczesnych koncepcji wykorzystania rzeki dla nadodrzańskich państw i społeczeństw. W artykule zawarto główne tezy takich badań oraz ich koncepcję.

Upadek Muru Berlińskiego, który nastąpił 9 listopada 1989 r., przyniósł istotne zmiany, w tym poważny kryzys gospodarczy w Niemczech Wschodnich i migracje ludności. Od lat dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku można mówić wręcz o kurczeniu się miast. W 2010 r. było w Niemczech już 3 mln pustostanów. Zmiany demograficzne, w tym masowa migracja ze wschodnich Landów na zachód, "za chlebem" i chęcią poprawy jakości życia, zmusiły władze opustoszałych miast do wdrożenia programów odnowy miast - między innymi poprzez likwidację zasobów zbędnych a kosztownych w utrzymaniu.
The fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989 led to significant changes, including a serious economic crisis in eastern Germany and migrations of population. Since the 1990s it can even be said that towns have been shrinking. In 2010 there were as many as 3 million empty homes in Germany. Demographic changes, including mass migration from the eastern Länder to the west in search of a living and improved quality of life, have compelled the authorities of the deserted towns to implement urban renewal programmes - involving among other things the elimination of redundant and expensive-to-maintain stock.

Nicht nur die sprachlichen Abweichungen des Ethnolekts dem Standarddeutschen gegenüber, sondern auch dessen Vorläufer, historische Bedingungen samt ihren linguistischen Manifestationen werden hier aufgegriffen und näher beleuchtet.
The subject of this paper is a mixed variant of German which arose in large urban agglomerations with participation of mixed youth, indigenous German youth and youth of German lineage. The text outlines historical phenomena, and also linguistic theories which underlie and account for the diversity of mixed code with regard to the standard language.

This paper addresses the socio-linguistic phenomenon of fake news. The emphasis is put on the premises, impact, perception, reception, and further functioning of purposefully falsified information. The text provides both a theoretical basis as well as practical fields of its application.
Der vorliegende Beitrag wendet sich dem soziolinguistischen Phänomen „Fake News“ zu. Hierbei liegt der besondere Fokus auf Anliegen, Aussagekraft, Wahrnehmung und Nachwirkung von gezielt gefälschten Botschaften. Der Beitrag liefert sowohl theoretische Grundlagen, als auch praktische Anwendungsfelder dazu.

Der vorliegende Beitrag wendet sich der migrations- und kontaktinduzierten Mischvariante Jugendlicher und junger Erwachsener zu. Hierbei liegt der Fokus sowohl auf die ursprüngliche, primäre, ethnolektal gefärbte Sprachvariante, als auch deren medial-stilisierte Form. Der Beitrag veranschaulicht die Tendenzen im gesprochenen Gegenwartsdeutsch, sensibilisiert für dessen Transgression sowie Übertragung auf das mediale Terrain und lässt das Spannungsfeld zwischen medialer Stilisierung und alltäglichem Gebrauch erfahren.
This paper addresses the language youth variant triggered by migration and contacts. The focus is put on both the primary form of the so-called ethnolect as well as the media representation and is transgression to everyday register. The paper shows tendencies in contemporary spoken German and allows recognition of media-presented ethnolect and its primary form, and shows similarities and differences between the two of them.

Paul Celan und Emmanuel Levinas begegneten einander höchstwahrscheinlich nie, obwohl sie mehrere Jahre lang in Paris nicht weit voneinander entfernt wohnten. Man kann aber von einer Begegnung ihres Denkens sprechen – sowohl auf der Ebene der Philosophie als auch auf der Ebene der Literatur, in der Reflexion über den Menschen und über das Wesen des literarischen Werkes, wobei die Überschneidung der beiden Ebenen selbstverständlich ist. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt den Versuch dar, diese Begegnung aus der Perspektive zweier Schriften von Levinas näher zu betrachten: seines Essays über die Dichtung Paul Celans und eines seiner fundamentalen philosophischen Werke, Jenseits des Seins oder anders als Sein geschieht.
Paul Celan i Emmanuel Levinas zapewne nigdy się osobiście nie spotkali, pomimo iż przez wiele lat mieszkali niedaleko siebie, w tej samej dzielnicy Paryża. Można jednak mówić o spotkaniu ich myślenia, zarówno na płaszczyźnie filozofii, jak i literatury – w refleksji o człowieku i dziele literackim, przy czym obie te płaszczyzny w sposób oczywisty splatają się ze sobą. Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje próbę przyjrzenia się temu spotkaniu z perspektywy pism Emmanuela Levinasa, jego eseju poświęconego poezji Celana i należącego do jego fundamentalnych tekstów filozoficznych Inaczej niż być lub poza istotą.
Paul Celan and Emmanuel Levinas have most never met, although they lived in the same quarter in Paris for many years. But we may speak of an encounter of their thinking – philosophical and ‚philological‘, about man and about the essence of literature. It is evident that both kinds of thinking deeply coincide. The article tries to look upon this encounter from the point of view of two writings of Emmanuel Levinas: his essay on the poetry of Paul Celan and one of his basic philosophical written studies, Autrement qu’ être ou au-delà de l’essence.

The aim of the article is to present the issue of the freedom of navigation on international rivers in the context of the Oder case brought before the Permanent Court of International Justice in 1929 – a case of utmost importance for the development of the law of international watercourses and contemporary international law applicable to water resources. The author analyses the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles which declared the Oder to be an international river and put it under the jurisdiction of an international commission. The territorial jurisdiction of the International Commission of the River Oder was disputed between Poland and Germany, leading to the aforementioned proceedings before the PCIJ. The author presents the arguments put forward by both parties, the legal context of the case – in particular the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles and of the Barcelona Convention – and analyses the Court’s judgment. An analysis of the judgment is carried out, having recourse to the main concepts of the law of international watercourses.

As one of Poland’s major rivers, the Oder requires the writing of an updated monograph to provide a new perspective on its history. In the historical portion (up to 1945), this work should be based on a thorough search of libraries and archives. Among those archives containing the most material relating to the river’s past, the State Archive in Szczecin should also be included. This article discusses the resources of the Szczecin archive in terms of research on the history of the lower Oder River. For the Ducal period, the most interesting collection featuring records pertaining to the river is undoubtedly the Archives of the Dukes of Szczecin. Among the materials preserved here are those on the navigation of the Warta-Oder or trade issues between Szczecin and Frankfurt on the Oder. On the other hand, for the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries, the most valuable archives, from the Oder’s perspective, are the collections of the Chief Presidium of the Pomeranian Province and the Szczecin Governmental District (Regierungsbezirk). Here we can find many folios discussing: navigation and fishing on the lower Oder, regulatory work on the river and finally the effects of the Oder floods. Also noteworthy are the files of the Directorate of Water Construction in Szczecin, which record all hydrological works carried out on the Oder. The above-mentioned groups constitute the core of the State Archive in Szczecin, which should be subjected to a thorough search if a decision is made to work on a new monograph of the Oder.
Odra jako jedna z głównych polskich rzek wymaga napisania kolejnej monografii, która pozwoliłaby na nowe spojrzenie na odrzańskie dzieje. W części historycznej (do 1945 r.) wspomniana praca powinna zostać oparta na gruntowej kwerendzie bibliotecznej i archiwalnej. Wśród archiwów zawierających najwięcej materiałów odnoszących się do przeszłości rzeki należy wymienić także Archiwum Państwowe w Szczecinie. W niniejszym artykule omówiono zasób archiwum szczecińskiego pod kątem badań nad historią dolnej Odrą. Dla czasów książęcych najbardziej interesującym zespołem zawierającym akta dotyczące rzeki jest bez wątpienia Archiwum Książąt Szczecińskich. Zachowały się tu między innymi materiały omawiające żeglugę warciańsko-odrzańską czy też problemy handlu między Szczecinem a Frankfurtem nad Odrą. Z kolei dla XIX i pierwszej połowy XX wieku z punktu widzenia Odry najważniejsze są zespoły Naczelnego Prezydium Prowincji Pomorskiej i Rejencji Szczecińskiej. Znajdujemy tu wiele poszytów omawiających żeglugę i rybołówstwo na dolnej Odrze, prace regulacyjne na rzece czy też skutki odrzańskich powodzi. Warto także zwrócić uwagę na akta Dyrekcji Budownictwa Wodnego w Szczecinie, w których zarejestrowano wszelkie prace hydrotechniczne wykonywane na Odrze. Wymienione zespoły stanowią w Archiwum Państwowym w Szczecinie trzon, który winien być poddany wnikliwej kwerendzie gdyby zapadła decyzja pracy nad nową monografią Odry.
