The study focuses on the three main types of the image of PR manager - self-image, perceived image and professional image. Its purpose is to identify all the image attributes needed for a position of PR manager. In the theoretical part, image is defined as the combination of both external and internal reflections of an individual, object or company creating values and awareness. The research part is the application of theoretical principles in the practical operations of three PR managers from the insurance sector and four PR managers from the bank sector. Research is in the form of an 8-question structured interview and qualitative response analyses. The result of the issue is an empirical assessment of the gathered information, studied literature and research. In self-image description the managers describe themselves as creative, systematic, reliable, extrovert, social with excellent communication skills. The perceived image of PR managers requires responsibility, friendliness, helpfulness, politeness and empathy. The professional image of PR managers requires a professional dress code, responsibility, creativity, excellent communication skills, openness to new ideas and experiences. Primary analytical and organizational attributes are considered as an advantage in the profession of PR manager as well.

Opis:
We propose a high-quality infrared and visible image fusion method based on a deep wavelet-dense network (WT-DenseNet). The WT-DenseNet includes three network layers, the hybrid feature extraction layer, fusion layer, and image reconstruction layer. The hybrid feature extraction layer is composed of a wavelet and dense network. The wavelet network decomposes the feature map of the visible and infrared images into low-frequency and high-frequency components, respectively. The dense network extracts the salient features. A fusion layer is designed to integrate low-frequency and salient features. Finally, the fusion images are outputted by an image reconstruction layer. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can realize high-quality infrared and visible image fusions, and the performance of the proposed method is better than that of the six recently published fusion methods in terms of contrast and detail performance.

The aim of this paper is to verify the capacities and limitations of the newspaper column (understood as a genre) as a tool for creating the image of its author. In the paper, the distinguishing features of a column are first presented, and then a hypothesis is proposed for predicting which attributes of its author may be generated by the column’s features. This hypothesis is juxtaposed with the results of empirical research. The main task of this research was to read the texts of one of two Polish columnists – Krzysztof Varga and Szymon Hołownia – and subsequently answer questions indicating the authors’ attributes. This procedure made it possible to recreate the image of the text’s author. The results demonstrated the influence of the column’s distinguishing features on the image of its author inferred by readers.

Opis:
Large-scale image repositories are challenging to perform queries based on the content of the images. The paper proposes a novel, nested-dictionary data structure for indexing image local features. The method transforms image local feature vectors into two-level hashes and builds an index of the content of the images in the database. The algorithm can be used in database management systems. We implemented it with an example image descriptor and deployed in a relational database. We performed the experiments on two image large benchmark datasets.

This paper is concerned with high temperature image quantitative analysis systems. Particular attention is paid to computerised system for surface properties (wetting angle and surface tension) determination. A brief description of the system is given. The specificity of the performed measurements based on images presenting heat-emitting objects is considered. Moreover, the significance of optical filters’ usage is explained. Infrared and neutral density filters are regarded. Influence of these filters on digital image quality is deliberated. Especially image noise presence is considered. The detailed analysis of noise properties change due filters usage is carried out. Finally, results of the analysis are presented and discussed.

Audiodescription is a type of translation in which visual elements are transferred into verbal descriptions. Numerous studies discuss the influence of this additional narration on media accessibility for its target audiences, namely partially sighted and blind people. Nevertheless, the impact of audiodescription on different audiences, such as sighted people, is still underdeveloped. Super-resolution image reconstruction utilizes two algorithms, where one is for single-frame image reconstruction, and the other is for multi-frame image reconstruction. Singleframe image reconstruction generally takes the first degradation and is followed by reconstruction, which essentially creates a problem of insufficient characterization. Multi-frame images provide additional information for image reconstruction relative to single frame images due to the slight differences between sequential frames. However, the existing super-resolution algorithm for multi-frame images do not take advantage of this key factor, either because of loose structure and complexity, or because the individual frames are restored poorly. This paper proposes a new SR reconstruction algorithm for images using Multi-grained Cascade Forest. Multi-frame image reconstruction is processed sequentially. Firstly, the image registration algorithm uses a convolutional neural network to register low-resolution image sequences, and then the images are reconstructed after registration by the Multi-grained Cascade Forest reconstruction algorithm. Finally, the reconstructed images are fused. The optimal algorithm is selected for each step to get the most out of the details and tightly connect the internal logic of each sequential step. This novel approach proposed in this paper, in which the depth of the cascade forest is procedurally generated for recovered images, rather than being a constant. After training each layer, the recovered image is automatically evaluated, and new layers are constructed for training until an optimal restored image is obtained. Experiments show that this method improves the quality of image reconstruction while preserving the details of the image.

I analyse five forms of images: electronic, digital, interactive, networked and living, all of which challenge traditional descriptions and expectations. I analyse them from the technical-ontological, phenomenological and cultural perspective to demonstrate different ways in which they discuss and deconstruct the notion of an image. Finally, I try to propose a new context for understanding the discussed forms of new imagery, i.e. the context of post-imagery.
Analizuję w artykule pięć form obrazu – elektroniczny, cyfrowy, interaktywny, usieciowiony i żyjący – wykazując, że wszystkie one stanowią wyzwanie dla tradycyjnego rozumienia obrazu. Analizuję je z perspektywy techniczno-ontologicznej, fenomenologicznej i kulturowej aby pokazać, w jak różny sposób każdy ze wskazanych typów obrazowości kwestionuje i dekonstruuje dotychczasowe pojęcie obrazu. Na zakończenie proponuję nowy kontekst dla rozumienia dyskutowanych tu form obrazowości – kontekst postobrazowości.

The aim of the paper is to present the issue of brand image transfer in relation to franchising system. In the paper, the meaning of brand knowledge and awareness by customers are described. These two factors are presented as significant tools which companies use to compete effectively in turbulent market. There is presented also a definition of brand and company image transfer as an introduction to the issue of franchising and its role in brand image transfer. The reason of conducting the study is a desire of verification of the mechanism of brand image transfer in franchising. In order to achieve the aim of the paper, the following objectives have been set: (1) to discuss the issue of brand image and customers’ brand awareness and knowledge; (2) to describe the role of franchising in effective brand image transfer; (3) to show the possibilities of influence on brand image in franchising; (4) to point out the consequences (advantages and disadvantages) for both franchisor and franchisee, who decide to be a part of franchising agreement. The literature review and its analysis presented in the paper shows that the image of franchisor’s brand can be transferred to a franchisee’s brands and franchisee’s brand image can be easily transferred to the franchisors’ brand by the customers. These phenomena can be created in the awareness of customers intentionally and unintentionally. That is why the companies have to manage theirs brand image and cooperate if they decide to sign the franchising agreement.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zagadnienia transferu wizerunku marki w odniesieniu do systemu franchisingu. W artykule opisano znaczenie wiedzy i świadomości marki wśród klientów. Te dwa czynniki są przedstawiane jako istotne narzędzia, które firmy wykorzystują, aby skutecznie konkurować na turbulentnym rynku. Przedstawiono także definicję transferu marki i wizerunku firmy jako wstęp do zagadnienia franchisingu i jego roli w procesie transferu wizerunku marki. Główną motywacją do przeprowadzenia badania była chęć zweryfikowania istoty mechanizmu transferu wizerunku marki w procesie franchisingu. Aby osiągnąć cel główny, sprecyzowano następujące cele poboczne: (1) omówienie kwestii wizerunku i świadomości marki, a także wiedzy o niej wśród konsumentów; (2) zaprezentowanie roli franchisingu w skutecznym transferze wizerunku marki; (3) pokazanie możliwości wpływu na wizerunek marki poprzez franchising; (4) wskazanie konsekwencji (zalet i wad) zarówno dla franchisodawcy, jak i franchisobiorcy, którzy decydują się na współpracę w oparciu o umowę franchisingu. Przegląd literatury i jej analiza zaprezentowane w artykule pokazują, że wizerunek marki franchisodawcy może zostać przeniesiony na markę franchisobiorcy, jak i wizerunek marki franchisobiorcy może mieć wpływ na postrzeganie marki franchisodawcy przez klientów. Zjawiska te mogą powstawać w świadomości klientów w sposób świadomy oraz niezamierzony. Dlatego firmy muszą zarządzać wizerunkiem swojej marki i stale ze sobą współpracować, jeśli już zdecydują się kooperować w oparciu o umowę franchisingu.

Neutrosophic set (NS) is a powerful tool to deal with indeterminacy. In this paper, the neutrosophic set is applied to the image domain and a novel edge detection technique is proposed. Noise reduction of images is a challenging task in image processing. Salt and pepper noise is one kind of noise that affects a grayscale image significantly. Generally, the median filter is used to reduce salt and pepper noise; it gives optimum results while compared to other image filters. Median filter works only up to a certain level of noise intensity. Here we proposed a neighborhood-based image filter called nbd-filter, it works perfectly for gray image regardless of noise intensity. It reduces salt and pepper noise significantly at any noise level and produces a noise-free image. Further, we proposed an edge detection algorithm based on the neutrosophic set, it detects edges efficiently for images corrupted by noise and noise-free images. Since most of the real-life images consists of indeterminate regions, neutrosophy is a perfect tool for edge detection. The main advantage of the proposed edge detector is, it is a simple and efficient technique and detect edges more efficient than conventional edge detectors.

Opis:
Magnetic resonance imaging study is currently the reference method for the detection and diagnosis of the central nervous system tumors. A large number of tumors, especially high-grade, has a higher water content in the cells, which results in prolongation of MRI T1 and T2 what appearance as increased signal intensity in in T2-weighted images and the reduction in T1-weighted images. MRI can be performed with administration of contrast agent, which shortens T1 and increases signal on T1-weighted sequences. This allows to identify areas of increased angiogenesis), which is the exponent of the cancer malignancy degree and its biological activity. Obtained MRI images are analyzed and evaluated by a radiologist and a clinician. Most of the time it is the "by the eye" analysis, which is based on the MRI image evaluation by the generally accepted radiological standards. However, this method is relatively inaccurate. which in turn can bring to the wrong diagnosis of the disease and implementation or even lack of implementation of appropriate treatment. More and more researches are conducted in this area, but developed methods are usually very complicated and difficult to carry out by the "layman" which is the clinician. That is why the attempt is made, to develop a simple and clear algorithm for MRI image analysis in patients with the central nervous system tumors, allowing for quick and objective evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging study.
Badanie metodą rezonansu magnetycznego jest aktualnie metodą referencyjną przy wykrywaniu i diagnozowaniu nowotworów centralnego układu nerwowego. Duża część nowotworów, zwłaszcza o wysokim stopniu złośliwości, charakteryzuje się większą zawartością wody w komórkach, co w badaniu MRI skutkuje wydłużeniem T1 i T2, uwidocznionym jako nasilenie sygnału w obrazach T2-zależnych oraz jego obniżeniem w obrazach T1-zależnych. MRI można przeprowadzić z podaniem środka kontrastowego, co powoduje skrócenie czasu T1 i podniesienie

The visual degradation of resampled (downsampled and then upsampled to the original size) greyscale digital images is quantified by local luminance, contrast and structure statistical comparison indexes. Spatial distributions of these indexes are shown. The global quality of resampled image is quantifiedby the similarity index defined by median values of local indexes. Parameters of this index consistent with the median opinion score are determined. The dependence of global indexes on the size of downsampled image is presented.

The availability of Sentinel satellites for providing open data with optical and SAR imagery leads to better opportunities related to Earth surface mapping and monitoring. Recently, optical fusion with radar data has shown improvement in classification quality and the accuracy of information acquired. In this setting, the main objective of this research is to monitor the environmental impact of an open-pit mine on water, vegetation, and non-vegetation areas by exploring the single and combined use of Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 data. The data utilized in this paper were collected from the European Space Agency Copernicus program. After selecting the Selenica region, we explored the products in the Sentinel Application Platform. According to our data, Sentinel-2 misses the small water ponds but successfully identifies the river and open-pit areas. It mistakenly identifies urban structures and cloud areas as non-vegetated and does not identify non-vegetated areas which correspond to mining operation areas. Sentinel-1 identifies very small water ponds and delivers additional information in the cloudy areas, but misses a part of the river. Alongside the strong contribution in identifying the vegetation, it also roughly identifies the non-vegetation areas of mining operations.

Opis:
Due to growing demand for ground-truth in deep learning-based remote sensing satellite image fusion, numerous approaches have been presented. Of these approaches, Wald’s protocol is the most commonly used. In this paper, a new workflow is proposed consisting of two main parts. The first part targets obtaining the ground-truth images using the results of a pre-designed and well-tested hybrid traditional fusion method. This method combines the Gram–Schmidt and curvelet transform techniques to generate accurate and reliable fusion results. The second part focuses on the training of a proposed deep learning model using rich and informative data provided by the first stage to improve the fusion performance. The demonstrated deep learning model relies on a series of residual dense blocks to enhance network depth and facilitate the effective feature learning process. These blocks are designed to capture both low-level and high-level information, enabling the model to extract intricate details and meaningful features from the input data. The performance evaluation of the proposed model is carried out using seven metrics such as peak-signal-to-noise-ratio and quality without reference. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of image quality. It also exhibits the robustness and powerful nature of the proposed approach which has the potential to be applied to many remote sensing applications in agriculture, environmental monitoring, and change detection.

The review of methods of similarity analysis of medical images is presented. Feature extraction, feature representation and different concepts of image query algebra problems are described and discussed from the medical application point of view. New algorithms based on medical image regularity description and intensity description are proposed. As a conclusion a Java application "ObrazMed" for content based medical image analysis is presented.

Suffering is one of the guides of our everyday lives, who we meet in relation to pain, anxiety, fear, despair, loneliness, feeling of guilt but also carelessness, neglect or cruelty, recklessness and everything which incite it. Suffering makes an assumption for a specific way of man´s self-expression and also makes presumption for free decision how to give his life a reason and which attitude he chooses towards it. Except for its physiology, psychology, suffering has also its epistemology because it refers us to a way of thinking about the world. In suffering is based the original experience of the world which helps the man understand the world. The experience of suffering reveals us also those aspects of human life which are hidden from our rationality and to which we get with rather intuition, introspection than with logic of our thinking. Also other virtues of man are born in suffering. In it we recognize more deeply and more sensitively, evaluate more consistently and act more responsibly. In suffering the man does not only exists but also exceeds beyond himself and makes our world more human.

The objective of the paper is to determine the characteristics and components of the Warsaw image residing in the consciousness of three investigated groups: metropolitans, entrepreneurs and tourists. A public opinion poll indicated that the prevailing features of respondents' associations with Warsaw were related to the city particularity as the capital of Poland. Metropolitans and entrepreneurs' conscious imagination of Warsaw were observed to be very suggestive, while tourists' were observed to be weak. The respondents regarded the city of Warsaw as the most attractive in Poland to run a business in and to visit, and as possessing many historical and cultural assets. The research showed that the majority of the investigated metropolitans, entrepreneurs and tourists judged the living conditions in the capital as good or very good.

It is claimed that the Polish sworn translator in his/her translating activities is subject to a complex processes of image manufacturing. Based on some important contributions to the problem of image generation, it is shown that the Polish sworn translator’s practices within image generation suffer from being intuitive, not very careful and lacking cautious planning. It is also claimed that a successful image generation should be strengthened by proper cross-cultural conditioning.

The cause to write an article was a question how to examine emotions which are of spatial nature. While the colloquial language copes with “spatiality” of feelings – it knows emotions and calls them (mood, atmosphere, climate, colour) – sociology has not developed a category enabling a systematic analysis of this phenomenon so far. In the theory of arts, the situation is different. The leading subject of the text is reflection on possibility of combining the theory of art and sociology of emotions. The proposed link is to be the concept of image treated as “sensitizing concept” (Herbert Blumer). In the article, I refer to the concepts having their roots in philosophy, social psychology and sociology of emotions which touch upon the issue of spatiality of emotions and compare them to the concepts related to the theory of image.

The article aims at analyzing the role of criticism in forming the image of human being in interpersonal interactions. The discussion starts with defining criticism and image. In order to define the concept of criticism, the definition proposed by Mirosław Karwat (2007) is applied. Next, the notion of image is analyzed by means of Stanisław Puppel’s (2016) definition. Finally, the role of criticism in forming the image of human being is scrutinized by means of a survey which was carried out among 20 students studying in Poznań. The results are discussed in the final part of the article.
