The purpose of this paper is to prove that the higher order Riesz transform for Gaussian measure associated with the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck differential operator $L:= d^2//dx^2 - 2xd//dx$, x ∈ ℝ, need not be of weak type (1,1). A function in $L^1(dγ)$, where dγ is the Gaussian measure, is given such that the distribution function of the higher order Riesz transform decays more slowly than C/λ.

Introduction and aim: The paper presents some Hermite polynomials, orthogonality condition for Hermite polynomials, recurrence formula and differential equation for Hermite polynomials. The aim of the discussion was to give some proof of orthogonality of Hermite polynomial system. Material and methods: Selected material based on some knowledge about Hermite polynomials which has been obtained from the right literature. The proof of the theorem describing the orthogonality of Hermite polynomials has been elaborated using a deduction method. Results: Has been shown some proof of the theorem describing the orthogonality of Hermite polynomials. It has been shown an example of orthogonality testing a pair of two arbitrary Hermite polynomials. Conclusions: In the paper has been shown the proof for theorem: The system of Hermite polynomials is orthogonal in the interval (-∞,+∞) with the weighting function p(z) = exp(-z2).
Wstęp i cel: W pracy przedstawiono wielomiany Hermite’a, warunek ortogonalności dla układu tych wielomianów, funkcję tworzącą oraz równanie różniczkowe dla wielomianów Hermite’a. Celem rozważań było przeprowadzenie dowodu twierdzenia o ortogonalności układów wielomianów Hermite’a. Materiał i metody: Materiał stanowiły wybrane wiadomości o wielomianach Hermite’a uzyskane z literatury przedmiotu. W przeprowadzonym dowodzie zastosowano metodę dedukcji. Wyniki: Pokazano dowód twierdzenia o ortogonalności układów wielomianów Hermite’a. Podano przykład badania ortogonalności pary dwóch dowolnych wielomianów Hermite’a. Wniosek: W pracy przeprowadzono dowód twierdzenia: Układ wielomianów Hermite’a jest ortogonalny w przedziale (-∞,+∞) z wagą p(z) = exp(-z2).

In applications such as CNC machining, highway and railway design, manufacturing industry and animation, there is a need to systematically generate sets of reference points with prescribed arclengths along parametric curves, with sufficient accuracy and real-time performance. Thus, mechanisms to produce a parameter set that yields the coordinates of the reference points along the curve Q(t) = {x(t), y(t)} are sought. Arclength parameterizable expressions usually yield a parameter set that is necessary to generate reference points. However, for typical design curves, such expressions are not often available in closed form. It is thus desirable to find efficient ways to compensate for this lack of arclength parameterization. In this paper, several methods for approximating arclength parameterizations are studied. These methods are examined for both accuracy and real-time processing requirements. The application of generating reference points uniformly spaced along the paths of several curves is chosen for the illustration and comparison between the presented methods.

Wstęp i cel: W pracy przedstawiono związek rekurencyjny, zależności różniczkowe i równanie różniczkowe dla wielomianów Hermite’a. Celem rozważań było przeprowadzenie dowodów omawianych własności. Materiał i metody: Materiał stanowiły wybrane zależności rekurencyjne i równanie różniczkowe uzyskane z literatury przedmiotu. W przeprowadzonych dowodach zastosowano metodę dedukcji. Wyniki: Pokazano dowód twierdzenia o funkcji tworzącej dla wielomianów Hermite’a. Przeprowadzono dowód związku rekurencyjnego między wielomianami Hermite’a, zależności różniczkowej oraz dwóch równań różniczkowych dla wielomianów Hermita. Wniosek: Pochodną wielomianu Hermite’a wyrażoną przez wielomiany Hermite’a można określić z równania H’n(z) = 2nHn-1(z) for n = 1, 2, 3,...

The purpose of this article is to analyze autobiographical components in the novel Le Page disgracié by Tristan L’Hermite, basing on the main criteria defined by Philippe Lejeune, Philippe Gasparini and René Demoris. It shows how the concept of ‘autobiographical pact’ and other cognate theories may only help to notice the complexity and variety of relations between literary fiction and biographical elements in Tristan L’Hermite’s work. In fact, by combining different esthetics and literary conventions, the uniqueness of this eclectic text seems make impossible to define its precise literary genre.

Introduction and aim: Selected elementary material about Hermite polynomials have been shown in the paper. The algorithm of expanding functions in the series by Hermite polynomials has been elaborated in the paper. Material and methods: The selected knowledge about Hermite polynomials have been taken from the right literature. The analytical method has been used in this paper. Results: Has been shown the theorem describing expanding functions in a series by using Hermite polynomials. It have been shown selected examples of expanding functions in a series by applying Hermite polynomials, e.g. functions exp(az), sgn(z) and z2p. Conclusion: The function f(z) can be expand in the interval (-∞+∞) in a series according to Hermite polynomials where the unknown coefficients can be determined from the orthogonality of Hermite polynomials.
Wstęp i cel: W pracy pokazuje się wybrane podstawowe wiadomości o wielomianach Hermite’a. W artykule opracowano algorytm rozwijania funkcji w szereg według wielomianów Hermite’a. Materiał i metody: Wybrane wiadomości o wielomianach Hermite’a zaczerpnięto z literatury przedmiotu. W pracy zastosowano metodę analityczną. Wyniki: W pracy pokazano twierdzenie dotyczące rozwijania funkcji w szereg według wielomianów Hermite’a. Pokazano wybrane przykłady rozwijania funkcji w szereg według wielomianów Hermite’a m.in. funkcji exp(az), sgn(z) oraz z2p. Wniosek: Funkcja f(z) może być w przedziale (-∞,+∞) rozwinięta w szereg według wielomianów Hermite’a, gdzie nieznane współczynniki można wyznaczyć korzystając z ortogonalności wielomianów Hermite’a.

One of the key elements of the real-time C 1 -continuous cubic spline interpolation of streaming data is an estimator of the first derivative of the interpolated function that is more accurate than those based on finite difference schemas. Two such greedy look-ahead heuristic estimators, based on the calculus of variations (denoted as MinBE and MinAJ2), are formally defined (in closed form), along with the corresponding cubic splines that they generate. They are then comparatively evaluated in a series of numerical experiments involving different types of performance measures. The presented results show that the cubic Hermite splines generated by heuristic MinAJ2 significantly outperformed those that were based on finite difference schemas in terms of all of the tested performance measures (including convergence). The proposed approach is quite general. It can be directly applied to streams of univariate functional data like time-series. Multi-dimensional curves that are defined parametrically (after splitting) can be handled as well. The streaming character of the algorithm means that it can also be useful in processing data sets that are too large to fit in the memory (e.g., edge computing devices, embedded time-series databases).

It is well-known that the left term of the classical Hermite-Hadamard inequality is closer to the integral mean value than the right one. We show that in the multivariate case it is not true. Moreover, we introduce some related inequality comparing the methods of the approximate integration, which is optimal. We also present its counterpart of Fejér type.
