Opis:
The aim o f this article is to outline the terminological differences and dissimilarities in studies on texts, as well as present problems in classification of texts or, morę specifically, difficulties in their descriptions in German and PolLh philological reflection and in fmding common points in defining particular phenomena and terms. This is an attempt at systematization in order to avoid terminological discrepancies and the misunderstanding of terms.The article also shows various research methods within the linguistic genealogy in the contrastive approach, and their significant influence on shaping and grounding particular terms. It seems crucial in this context to outline the newest trends within the scope of scientific interest of German linguistic genealogy, taking into account morę and morę clearly articulated postulates emphasizing the necessity o f extending the rangę of studies in this field to include literary texts, which in cońseąuence may lead to necessary terminological verification.

The paper examines the Frankish presence in Byzantium during 11th century. It was stressed that the mentioned period was the time of a great influx of westerners to the East. At first, most of them visited Constantinople as pilgrims during return journey from the Holy Land. The author points out that the term Franks (Frankoi) was basically attributed to the Eastern Franks/Germans, while in the course of time the Byzantines started to use it to identify rather Western Franks (i.e. French, Normans, Burgundians etc.). The author studies the circumstances in which the new mercenaries and adventurers meet the Empire, trying to define the reason of their success. Another issue investigated in the text is the extent to which Franks got promoted within the social hierarchy in Byzantium during the 11th century. Finally, the author argues that before the presence of great families such as Petraliphai, Raoul or Rogerioi there was at least one house of Frankish descent, which was raised significantly earlier and whose founder was Herve Frankopoulos.

The post-Soviet period in the history of ethnic development of the Buryat people is marked by a mobilization of ethnic identity and ethnoterritorial self-organization. At present, communities based on the territorial principle are losing their importance. Tribal unions of Buryats have become an alternative, and their reconstruction has become an urgent task of modernity. Today, the Buryats of the Khongodor and Khori tribes follow this path of self-organization. The idea has also won support from other groups, like the Bulagats and Ekhirits. In the context of this process, ethnic ideologems and mythologems (the mythical ancestors of the Buryats, epic heroes) serve as mobilization symbols of national cultural revival.

The article examines some decisive transformations that took place in the representation of the motherdaughter relationship, reflected in texts written by Italian women writers between the early 1900s and the early 2000s. Although updated, both motherhood and mother-daughter relationship appear closely linked and anchored to problems that imprison women in various predicaments. The corpus here under analysis focuses on unusual literary genealogies.

Artykuł porusza kwestię wyzwania, przed którym stoi obecnie turyzm genealogiczny w hrabstwie Galway, położonym na zachodnim wybrzeżu Irlandii. W skondensowanej formie prezentuje on rezultaty badań terenowych, w których połączone zostały metody jakościowe i ilościowe, tj. nagrywany wywiad grupowy, wywiady indywidualne (23 rozmówców), obserwacja (sześciu uczestników), dzienniki (dwóch uczestników) oraz ankiety (302 respondentów). Pomogły one stworzyć wszechstronny obraz turyzmu genealogicznego w badanym regionie i umożliwiły odpowiedzi na trzy palące pytania: Jakie są powody 50% spadku ogólnej liczby turystów genealogicznych odwiedzających Irlandię, notowanego od 2000 r.? Jakie są profile, potrzeby i oczekiwania turystów genealogicznych w Irlandii i jak różnią się one od tych obserwowanych u turystów głównego nurtu? Czy można odzyskać rynek turyzmu genealogicznego i - jeśli tak - jak można to osiągnąć? Badania przyniosły również świeże spojrzenie na promocję genealogii irlandzkiej i włączenie jej do nowych produktów turyzmu dziedzictwa, które uwzględniają miejscowe potrzeby, ale również reagują na konkurencyjne środowisko zglobalizowanego świata, w którym ich fola jest nieustannie redefiniowana.
This paper is concerned with the challenges now faced by genealogy tourism in County Galway, situated on Ireland’s western seaboard. It presents, in a condensed format, the results of fieldwork which combined qualitative and quantitative methodologies, namely recorded focus group and one-to-one interviews (23 interviewees), participant observation (6 participants), diaries (2 participants) and questionnaires (302 respondents). This assisted in producing a comprehensive cross-sectoral snapshot of genealogy tourism in the region and has enabled us to tackle three pertinent questions: what are the reasons behind the 50% decline in the overall number of genealogy tourists visiting Ireland since 2000?; what are the profiles, needs and expectations of genealogy tourists coming to Ireland and how do they differ from those of mainstream tourists?; can the genealogy tourism market be recovered and - if yes - how can this be achieved? Finally, the investigation brought fresh perspectives on marketing Irish genealogy and incorporating it into new heritage tourism products that respect local needs but respond to the competitive environment of a globalised world in which the tourism industry continuously redefines its roles.

The aim of this article is to outline the philosophical genealogy of pedagogical discourse based on Michel Foucault’s Discipline and Punish (1977). The undertaken line of inquiry posits this re ection in light of the presupposed question about the core of pedagogical discourse since although in the course of the continuous academic debate stemming from Foucault’s writings many insightful works have emerged with regard to the critical analysis of the educational system and the inner logic underlying the functioning mode of the schools, and although the critical approach appears to be fundamental in the contemporary humanities, the very discourse seems to face an inter-conceptual resistance, which results in the fact that ‘with some hesitations and some dis- sent, contemporary critical traditions continue a nineteenth-century view of social redemption through schooling’ (Popkiewitz and Brennan 1998). In the article I put forward the possibility that the seemingly unresolvable theoretical resistance residing in the very essence of pedagogy as a scienti c discourse, once reexamined in fact veils an inverted conception of pedagogical philosophy as the core of Foucault’s stance.

Since about three years ago, if you use Google as a search engine to find the meaning of a French word, an unilingual dictionary often appears as the first entry, with no reference or URL. Comparative textual investigations show that Google dictionary entries are related to a set of Le Robert dictionaries which have their origins in Le Robert illustré, first published in 2009, and available since then in a variety of electronic formats: Dixel mobile (2014) and Le Robert mobile(2019) for iPhones, and the “Dictionary of definitions” of the spell checker Le Robert correcteur (2014, 2018, 2019). The comparison between Google entries and the same entries in Le Robert correcteur’s “Dictionary of definitions” allows us to progress in the genealogical study of Google’s entries. It shows which simplifications of the text of the entries and which changes of their structure can be observed between Google’s dictionary and its text source.

W Archiwum Państwowym w Poznaniu znajduje się zbiór dokumentów dotyczących majątku Konarzewo. W aktach tych, w serii Akta rodzinne rodów, do których Konarzewo przejściowo należało oraz akta ich posiadłości leżących poza Konarzewem, znajduje się dokument powstały w związku ze śmiercią Jana Antoniego Radomickiego (+ 1728), wojewody inowrocławskiego, starosty generalnego Wielkopolski – spis pozostawionych przez niego rzeczy. Ze spisu datowanego na 26 czerwca 1738 roku dowiadujemy się o jego ubiorze, rzeczach codziennego użytku, o ozdobach pomieszczeń, wyrobach ze srebra, miedzi i cyny, posiadanym ekwipunku jeździeckim, karetach, koniach. Wykaz tych wszystkich rzeczy świadczy o dużej zamożności osoby zmarłej. Artykuł uzupełniają portrety Jana Antoniego Radomickiego oraz dane genealogiczne.
The State Archives in Poznań holds a collection of documents related to the land estate of Konarzewo. In one of its series, in the papers pertaining to the families to which Konarzewo belonged briefly and papers of their estates outside Konarzewo, there is a post-mortem inventory of the belongings of Jan Antoni Radomicki (d. 1728), voivod of Inowrocław and starosta general of Greater Poland (Wielkopolska). The inventory dates back to 26 June 1738 and lists his clothings, items of everyday use, decorations of the interiors, silver, copper and tin ware, riding equipment, coaches, and horses. All those items show great wealthiness of the deceased. The paper is supplemented with the portrait of Jan Antoni Radomicki and genealogical information.

W Bibliotece Kórnickiej Polskiej Akademii Nauk znajdują się zbiory rękopisów związanych z historią rodziny Działyńskich. W jednym z takich zbiorów znajduje się dokument powstały w związku ze śmiercią Augustyna Działyńskiego (13 V 1759), wojewody kaliskiego – spis pozostawionych przez niego rzeczy. Ze spisu, datowanego na 5 czerwca 1759 roku, dowiadujemy się o jego ubiorze, ubiorze służby, rzeczach codziennego użytku, o ozdobach pomieszczeń, o instrumentach muzycznych i posiadanym ekwipunku jeździeckim. Ozdobienie większości tych rzeczy w srebro lub złoto, świadczy o stanie posiadania osoby zmarłej. Do spisu dołączono także wykaz zobowiązań wojewody oraz wysokość kosztów poniesionych w związku z jego pogrzebem. Artykuł uzupełniają portrety Augusta Działyńskiego i jego żony Anny z Radomickich oraz bogaty materiał genealogiczny.
The Kórnik Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences houses a large collection of manuscripts related to the history of the Działyński family. One of those collections contains a document created after the death of Augustyn Działyński (13 May 1759), a voievod of Kalisz, i.e. a post-mortem inventory. The inventory dated 5 June 1759 includes information on his attire, the garb of his servants, things of everyday use, decorations of his chambers, musical instruments and his horseriding equipment. Most of these items were decorated with gold or silver which shows the wealth of the deceased. The inventory is complemented with a list of Działyński’s liabilities and the funeral expenditure. The paper is illustrated with portraits of Augustyn Działyński and his wife Anna nèe Radomicka as well as with extensive genealogical data.

W artykule analizie poddane zostały informacje na temat Manassesa (syn Józefa, jedno z plemion Izraela) oraz jego genealogicznych powiązań. Chronologicznie jedno z głównych odgałęzień Manassesa: Makir-Gilead, wydaje się starszą tradycją niż pozostała genealogia. Jej pierwsza część - Makir - może być postrzegana jako starsze określenie niż Manasses. W niniejszym artykule sugeruję, że imię „Manasses” może być stworzone sztucznie przez autora biblijnego, aby zachować pamięć o zaginionych transjordańskich plemionach Izraela.
The article analyses information about Manasseh (the son of Joseph; one of the Israel's tribes) and its genealogical connections. Chronologically one of the main branches of Manasseh: Machir-Gilead, seems to be a lot older tradition than the rest of the genealogy. Its first part: Machir, might be seen as an older name than Manasseh. In the article we suggest that the name Manasseh might be an artificial invention of biblical authors. It was created to the deal with the memory of the lost transjordan tribes of Israel.

The article presents the careers of two representatives of one of the oldest Polish magnate families – Tęczyński, coat of arms Topór, the elder sons of Andrzej (d. 1588), the governor of Krakow: Gabriel (d. 1617), the voivode of Lublin and Andrzej (d. 1613), the castellan of Bełz, living at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. It has been proven that after a long period of education outside the borders of the Commonwealth, which was interrupted in 1593 by an episode, when the brothers were sent to the General Sejm, from the beginning of the 17th century, as young magnate sons, they actively participated in the public life. Gabriel worked in the local government of the Lublin Voivodeship, while Andrzej was a member of the Opatów regional parliament. Although the brothers did not reach the highest state offices – the end of Gabriel's career was Lublin voivodship, and Andrzej castellany of Bełz – they showed significant activity during the Sandomierz rebellion in 1606-1607, taking the side of the royal camp. In the following years, Andrzej Tęczyński expressed his support for the royal party in his views and attitude, while the elder Gabriel distanced himself from the policy of Sigismund III Vasa at least from 1611. Their careers ended with fairly sudden deaths, after which the public activity was taken up by the youngest of their brothers - Jan Magnus (d. 1637), the voivode of Kraków, with whom the Tęczyński line came to an end.

The paper addresses some of the ways in which anthropology, as a discourse and a discipline, has contributed to the forging as much as of the problematisation of the concept of gender, not only within the feminist, queer and LGBTQI camps, but also among Catholic fundamentalists. It argues that, despite some recent genealogical critiques of the concept of gender and its origins in mid-20th century bio-medical governance, insufficient attention has been paid to the role of the so-called ‘savage slot’ - as Rolph Trouillot defined the domain of knowledge carved out for anthropology, in a wider scheme of thought that has its origins at the same time as ‘the West’ became a reality. A more thorough genealogy of the ways in which anthropological thinking and evidence contributed to the construction, and then the deconstruction, of gender, can provide fruitful tools for a deeper challenge of the apparatus of gender itself.

Otto and Reich families are distant ancestors of the author. They were evangelical peasant families living on the Polish lands (near Huta Dłutowska) from about 1800. Later they moved from Huta Dłutowska to the neighboring villages: Kolonia Anielin and Rokicie. Members of the Otto family were farmers, cultivating farmlands under a leasehold law (Polish „okupnicy”), and carpenters. On the other hand, members of the Reich family worked in mills in Jochim (Joachin), Kozica, Półtalarek. Members of both families were married to evangelical German settlers. The marriage of Marianna Otto was, however, an exception. She was married to Maciej Rutkowski in 1828. Their children were brought up as Catholics.

Ze spisu dowiadujemy się o przekazanych kosztownościach, ubiorach i rzeczach codziennego użytku. Wykaz tych wszystkich rzeczy świadczy o dużej zamożności ojca Heleny – Zygmunta Działyńskiego.

One series of those documents, entitled Family papers of families to which Konarzewo belonged briefly and papers of their estates outside Konarzewo, contains a document created in connection with the marriage of Helena Katarzyna Działyńska and Zygmunt Wiktor Denhoff. It is dated 27 October 1681 and lists all possessions she received from her father Zygmunt Działyński, voievod of Kalisz, as her trousseau. The inventory shows jewellery, clothes and objects of everyday use. The trousseau documents the wealthiness of Helena’s father, Zygmunt Działyński.

The article contains an analysis of family and genealogical connections of one of the most prominent historical figures of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the 17th century – Andrzej Olszowski, Archbishop of Gniezno and Primate of Poland – politician, clergyman, writer and intellectual. He was a descendant of a middle-class gentry who settled in the land of Łęczyca, sealing himself with the Wilczekosy (Wolf Scythes) coat of arms, attesting to the origin of Clan Prusy (the medieval refugees from Pruthenia attacked by Theutonic Order). Despite this modest pedegree he had such outstanding figures among his ancestors as Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski – a Renaissance writer and humanist, and his nepoties included the famous brothers Załuscy – bishops, patrons of art and science, the creators of the library, which became the leaven of the polish National Library.
