Opis:
This study aims to discuss one of the most significant economic and social developments in the world – the rise of the female entrepreneurship phenomenon. Women entrepreneurship needs to be studied as a separate field for two main reasons: (a). Female entrepreneurship is an important source of economic growth in creating new jobs and by being genetically different: women provide different solutions to management and business issues; (b). Female entrepreneurship has been neglected, particularly in business research. Although equal opportunity for men and women in the entrepreneurial field is not a reality in the short range, the progress towards its achievement could be facilitated by better understanding of the impact of female entrepreneurship on society and its contribution to economic growth. This study addresses the growth in female entrepreneurship in the developed and developing countries, explores primary motivational and other factors that influence female entrepreneurship, reviews the main obstacles facing the female entrepreneur, and finally makes recommendations to policy-makers to encourage and support such activity.

Opis:
Ponadto wyniki badań pokazują, że Polki relatywnie dobrze oceniają swoje umiejętności przedsiębiorcze, a jednocześnie zdecydowanie częściej niż przedsiębiorczynie z innych krajów odczuwają strach przed niepowodzeniem. Dla Polek przedsiębiorców ważniejszym niż kwestie finansowe motywatorem do rozpoczęcia działalności gospodarczej jest dążenie do niezależności i samodzielności w zakresie kształtowania własnej ścieżki rozwoju zawodowego.
The article looks at the key determinants of female entrepreneurship in Poland in the context of selected countries. The analysis shows that in the light of empirical research the hypothesis about the dominant role of negative motivational factors among Polish businesswomen cannot be supported. The research also indicates that they assess their own entrepreneurial skills relatively well; at the same time, they fear business failure more compared to other countries. For Polish female entrepreneurs independence and self-reliance in the career path is more motivating than the financial aspects of starting a business.

Opis:
Purpose – the purpose of the article is to diagnose determinants of the effective development of entrepreneurial competence in members of the MCSU academic community and to develop a concept of a tool used for that purpose.Design/Methodology/Approach – Polish and foreign literature was researched to find answers to the following questions:1) What requirements are imposed on universities with regard to the development of entrepreneurial competence among students?2) How should the effective education of adults be guaranteed?3) What are the methodological bases for the realization of focus group interviews? After that, focus research was carried out among 43 students from 11 faculties of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin to learn their opinions about:• The way the essence of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviour are perceived,• conditions created by the University for entrepreneurial education and for the development of entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviours,• factors that stimulate or block their entrepreneurship,• preferred methods of development of entrepreneurial competences. The obtained results of literature studies and focus interviews were used in order to develop the concept of an Entrepreneurship Academy or a complex program for the development of entrepreneurship in the academic community at the University.Findings – entrepreneurial competences are among the ones of key importance for the successful functioning of people in the society as well as in their personal and professional lives. There is an urgent need to develop them and universities play an important role in satisfying it. To guarantee the best effectiveness of didactic processes focusing on the development of the knowledge of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviour to members of the academic community, education curriculums should be developed considering the needs and preferences of the interested parties. Education methods based on learning in action and through experience should also be used.Practical implications – the developed concept of the MCSU Entrepreneurship Academy is comprehensive and flexible. It is possible to be implemented in any school of higher education in full or in the form of its selected modules depending on the identified needs of the interested parties and financial resources available.Original value – schools of higher education have varied curriculums related to entrepreneurship, however, the MCSU Entrepreneurship Academy is an end-to-end tool based on the holistic approach and involving the cooperation of entities representing all components of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the socioeconomic vicinity.Article type – research paper, case study.

Opis:
While the general importance of information technology in management is a commonly known issue, its influence on organizational creativity and corporate entrepreneurship has drawn much less attention of researchers up to now. The author of the paper seeks to fill this gap by pointing out to some concepts already described in the literature. The main objective of this study is to characterize the managerial aspects of creative entrepreneurial organization, where the costs of processing, storing and communicating information are close to zero. Advances in information technology are conducive to new types of interaction between actors of economic activity. Describing an emergent theoretical framework for the concept of "creative corporate entrepreneurship" constitutes the author's core contribution besides adding the fresh insight into the openness of creativity and entrepreneurship. This paper presents three phases of the creative entrepreneurial organization, namely, creative novelty which means generation of new ideas, creative usefulness which refers to the selection of ideas in terms of their usefulness to launch new bold ventures, and exploiting opportunities. The third aspect should be considered in the context of eliminating the constraints of information delivery, which may be one of the most important sources of managerial transformations. These transformations lead to new methods of managing creative entrepreneurial organization.

As a result, authors strive to answers two main questions in this paper: “What are the factors that hold back entrepreneurs in the Kurdistan Region to start their own businesses? “And “What measures the local government can take to mitigate such challenges?” The methodology used in this study is quantitative approach, involving a survey questionnaire. This paper consists of four parts: After the introduction, second part will provide empirical data on challenges facing entrepreneurs in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Discussion and analysis of the findings are done in the third part. Finally, in the last part, paper will offer conclusions by summarizing the key findings.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The main purpose of the research is to assess whether the young generation in Poland has the potential to build sustainable companies by evaluating the attitudes of university students towards sustainable entrepreneurship.. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The readiness to create a sustainable enterprise was assessed on the basis of self-assessment of pro-social attitudes, business intentions and knowledge of social and environmental aspects in business with the use of multidimensional analysis based on machine learning methods. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: A significant challenge for policymakers, scientists and entrepreneurs is solving important social and environmental problems through the development of sustainable entrepreneurship. The implementation of this concept requires efforts to educate and shape pro-social attitudes, especially among the young generation. Therefore, the research focuses on identifying and assessing the attitudes and awareness level of pro-social aspects in business and recognition of entrepreneurial intentions among representatives of this generation. RESEARCH RESULTS: The research results show that young people have an intuitive sense of what sustainable business is all about, but the formal knowledge in this area is low. Financial aspects, i.e. the possibility of obtaining significant income from own business, as well as independence and the possibility of being a manager, turned out to be much more motivating for entrepreneurship than the possibility of changing the world for the better, helping local communities or protecting the environment. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The innovative approach to multidimensional data analysis highlighted the lack of knowledge and insufficient level of pro-social attitudes among the young generation, which is a particularly worrying phenomenon in the context of formulated challenges and social and environmental needs.
