Zmiany zachodzące w gospodarce, społeczeństwie wpływają na proces kształtowania się systemu opieki zdrowotnej. Do ogólnie rozumianego systemu opieki zdrowotnej zaliczyć można działania związane z profilaktyką zdrowia. Koncepcja marketingu społecznego zwiększa swój udział w działaniach na rzecz profilaktyki zdrowia. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości aplikacji koncepcji marketingu społecznego w obszar profilaktyki zdrowotnej w Polsce. Ilustracja empiryczna roli marketingu społecznego w odniesieniu do profilaktyki zdrowia została oparta o trzy studia przypadku oraz o ilościowe wyniki badań własnych. Ilościowe badania mają charakter pilotażowy i stanowią jedynie wstęp do dalszych rozważań i badań w podjętym temacie. Przedstawione w artykule wyniki badań są wycinkiem ogólnych badań prowadzonych w zakresie profilaktyki zdrowia poprzez działania marketingowe.
Changes in the economy, society, influence the formation of the health care system. The health care system generally, include the activities related to the prevention of health. Noticeable is the increase of the participation of the concept of social marketing in promoting health prevention. The purpose of this article is to present the possibilities of the concept of social marketing applications in the area of preventive health care in Poland. An empirical illustration of the role of social marketing for health prevention is based on three case studies and the quantitative results of the study. Quantitative research is a pilot and are only a prelude to further discussion and research undertaken in the topic. The results presented in this paper are a segment of the general research in the field of preventive health through marketing activities.

The structure-based models of proteins are defined through the condition that their ground state coincides with the native structure of the proteins. There are many variants of such models and they yield different properties. Optimal variants can be selected by making comparisons to experimental data on single-molecule stretching. Here, we discuss the 15 best performing variants and focus on fine tuning the selection process by adjusting the velocity of stretching to match the experimental conditions. The very best variant is found to correspond to the 10-12 potential in the native contacts with the energies modulated by the Miyazawa-Jernigan statistical potential and variable length parameters. The second best model incorporates the Lennard-Jones potential with uniform amplitudes. We then make a detailed comparison of the two models in which theoretical surveys of stretching properties of 7510 proteins were made previously.

Opis:
Losses in 1-octen-3-ol, the characteristic mushroom aroma compound, reach the level of 90% to 100%, depending on techniques of drying. In the sum total of all volatiles in mushrooms benzaldehyde accounts for 6% to 44% and benzyl alcohol-27% to 67%. It was determined that the best quality dried mushroom materiał may be obtained by application of freezedrying or vacuum-roller-drying.
Badano związki lotne zapachowe pieczarki surowej Agaricus bisporus oraz susze pieczarkowe otrzymane metodą tradycyjną, sublimacji, fluidyzacji, walcową i rozpyłową. Za pomocą chromatografii gazowej zidentyfikowano w surowych pieczarkach występowanie lotnych związków zapachowych: 3-metylo-butanol, oktanon-3, okten-1-ol-3, aldehyd benzoesowy i alkohol benzylowy. Głównym związkiem odpowiedzialnym za zapach surowych pieczarek był okten-1-ol-3 i jego ilość wynosiła ok. 80% sumy wszystkich lotnych związków zapachowych. Stwierdzono, że w czasie suszenia pieczarek, zależnie od stosowanej techniki, występują jego straty w granicach 90-100%. W suszach pieczarkowych stwierdzono nowe związki i inny stosunek związków lotnych. Głównymi związkami lotnymi suszów pieczarkowych były: alkohol benzylowy w granicach 27-67% i aldehyd benzoesowy w granicach od 6 do 44% sumy wszystkich związków lotnych. Na podstawie badań jakościowych ustalono, że susze najlepszej jakości można otrzymać przez liofilizację pieczarek, bądź też przez suszenie ich na suszarni walcowo-próżniowej.

There is a deficit of data in Poland about characteristics of family enterprises providing medical services. The medical sector in Poland faces a rapid development of family businesses and is diverse because it encompasses various size business entities that specialize in many possible aspects of the medical business. The article is about the characteristics of family enterprises providing medical services and extent to which they resemble family businesses, and to which they are derived from medical service activities. The article is of theoretical nature and its aim is to propose the model for the functioning of family-owned medical businesses, taking into account the impact of the type of activity and the family organization. The first part of the article is focuses on characteristics of family businesses, there is relatively little representative research analyzing the share of family enterprises in the Polish economy and describing their character. The second part of the article is the problem of ethos of medical professions in relation to business and economic logics of an organization. In the third of the article part there is a proposal for a model combining both aspects of the functioning of this type of economic entities.
W Polsce występuje deficyt danych o cechach przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych świadczących usługi medyczne. Sektor medyczny w Polsce stoi w obliczu szybkiego rozwoju firm rodzinnych i jest zróżnicowany, ponieważ obejmuje różne wielkości podmiotów gospodarczych, które specjalizują się w wielu możliwych aspektach branży medycznej. Artykuł dotyczy cech przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych świadczących usługi medyczne oraz zakresu, w jakim przypominają one firmy rodzinne i do których wywodzą się z działalności usług medycznych. Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczny i jego celem jest zaprezentowanie modelu funkcjonowania rodzinnych firm medycznych, biorąc pod uwagę wpływ rodzaju działalności i organizacji rodzinnej. Pierwsza część artykułu koncentruje się na charakterystyce firm rodzinnych, stosunkowo mało jest reprezentatywnych badań analizujących udział przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych w polskiej gospodarce i opisujących ich charakter. Druga część artykułu to problem etosu zawodów medycznych w odniesieniu do logiki biznesowej i ekonomicznej organizacji. W trzeciej części artykułu znajduje się propozycja modelu łączącego oba aspekty funkcjonowania tego typu podmiotów gospodarczych.

The folding of knotted proteins remains a mystery both for theoreticians and experimentalists. Despite the development of new models, the driving force for self-tying remains elusive and the principle of minimal frustration cannot be reproduced in silico. In this paper we review different models used to understand protein self-knotting and suggest, how to improve the structure based model to observe efficient folding. Our preliminary results show, that including information about some amino acids properties, or reducing the set of physical contacts may be beneficial for modeling of the knotted protein folding.

Proteins with a non-trivial topological structure are currently well recognized, while a knotted protein chain represents a new motif in protein three dimensional folds. Recent comprehensive analysis of the Protein Data Base shows that knotted proteins represent 1.5% of known protein structures. Determination of a free energy landscape of knotted proteins, and its understanding provides a serious challenge for both experimentalists and theoreticians. Moreover the role of a knot for biological activity of protein still remains elusive. In this work we study the smallest knotted proteins ( PDB code 2efv) to understand/investigate their free energy landscape, by means of extensive molecular dynamics simulations. We explore the dependence of the thermodynamics, kinetics and protein folding pathways on the native-likes contact maps and on the length of the chain. We analyze two sets of native-like contacts , which differ by a number of long range interactions, and we consider the 2efv protein with two different lengths of its C-terminus end. We identify the subset of native contacts sufficient to explore the entire free energy landscape. Then, we analyze the influence of the remaining set of native contacts – we show that the set of additional contacts may enhance folding kinetics, and that it has an influence on folding pathways.

The role of knots in proteins is still unclear. In this short review, we summarize the current knowledge about structural and dynamical differences between knotted and unknotted proteins. We show how the topological difference helps to distinguish the physical properties, characterize the biological activity or identify the biological function of knotted proteins. This knowledge can be used to correctly annotate protein family members and to identify new members.

In their daily work, medical professionals often encounter emotionally and mentally challenging situations, such as sudden health deterioration or death of their patients. The concern to ensure the highest possible level of healthcare and meet all the standards despite the limitations that come with working under the pressure of time, the interactions with other individuals, the physical burden and stress, as well as with the (sometimes limited) support from superiors and lack of satisfaction with salary may, as a result, translate into a higher risk of burnout. Research indicates a potential effectiveness of coaching with respect to medical personnel. However, there are no publications available concerning nurse-oriented coaching, which would be intended to reduce the risk of burnout in this professional group. The objective of this paper is to present coaching as a method that makes it possible to reduce the risk related to burnout in medical professionals.

Ocena zasobów wiedzy pracowników przedsiębiorstw górniczych została przeprowadzona w oparciu o badania ankietowe dotyczące identyfikacji aspektów środowiskowych i wyznaczenia ryzyka środowiskowego. Wpływy aspektów na środowisko pracownicy ocenili w oparciu o trzy następujące kryteria: częstość występowania, strata w środowisku oraz zasięg oddziaływania. W pracy szczególną uwagę zwrócono na analizę odpowiedzi ankietowanych pracowników dotyczącą aspektów znaczących i ocenę ich wpływu na środowisko.
This paper presents the evaluation of knowledge of coal mine workers performed on the basis of survey research concerning the identification of environmental aspects, and indication of environmental risk for particular aspects. The impacts of the aspects on environment were assessed by workers on the basis of the following criteria: frequency of occurrence, loss in environment and the impact range. In this paper special attention was paid to the analysis of the respondents’ answers on crucial aspects, and evaluation of their impact on the environment.

The main objective of the presented study was to characterize the high (HAS) and low affinity (LAS) binding sites of ketoprofen (KP) in human serum albumin (HSA) structure with the use of spectrofluorescence and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In vitro fluorescence analysis was used to estimate the effect of KP on the HSA fluorescence. The association constants $K_{a} [M^{-1}]$ of KP-HSA complex in the HAS were determined with the use of Scatchard, Klotz, and Hill analysis. The quenching $K_{Q} [M^{-1}]$ constants were determined on the basis of the Stern-Volmer equation. Binding of ketoprofen to plasma protein was also studied with the use of 8-anilinonapthalene-1-sulfonic acid (ANS) and 5-dimethylaminonaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid (DNSA) as the fluorescence probes in IIIA and IIA subdomains of HSA, respectively. To estimate the cooperativeness in proteins Hill's coefficient $n_{H}$ was used. The analysis of proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of KP in the presence of HSA allows us to observe the interactions between aromatic rings of the drug and the rings of amino acids located in the hydrophobic subdomains of the protein on the basis of the changes of chemical shifts Δ σ [ppm] of drug protons resonances. Moreover the $K_{a}$ constants $[M^{-1}]$ of KP-HSA complex in the LAS were determined.

The effect of carbon and nitrogen sources and initial pH and temperature of the medium on the mycelial growth of Sarcodon imbricatus (L.) P. Karst. in axenic liquid culture was investigated. The optimal composition of the medium was found to be: 5% fructose, 1% hydrolysate of casein, 1% yeast extract, and 0.3% KH2PO4 at pH = 6 and incubation temperature of 20°C. In this condition the maximum biomass growth was observed, yielding 10.2 g L−1 of dry weight after 3-week of growth. The medium regarded as optimal for growth of S. imbricatus mycelium was used for the production of the biomass and further chemical analysis. The quantitative and qualitative composition of phenolic acids, fatty acids, and sterols were determined using chromatographic methods. The total content of phenolic acids was 1.86 mg × 100 g−1 DW, with the largest amount of protocatechuic acid (1.27 mg × 100 g−1 DW). Nineteen fatty acids were estimated, including five unsaturated fatty acids, e.g., oleic and α-linolenic acid. The analysis of sterols composition revealed the presence of ergosterol and ergosterol peroxide (197.7 and 200.47 mg × 100 g−1 DW, respectively). These compounds were isolated and confirmed by 1H-NMR. Presented study constitutes the first report on the accumulation of substances (phenolic acids, fatty acids, and sterols) with multidirectional biological activity in the mycelial axenic culture of Sarcodon imbricatus.
