Dynamically identifying key product changes is a challenge for enterprises. It is even more complicated if companies strive for the sustainable development of their activities. Therefore, the aim of the article was to develop a method to help predict the direction of product improvement, taking into account its quality level and environmental impact during the life cycle (LCA). The method was based on the design phase of LCA and the process of obtaining and processing customer expectations. Techniques supporting the developed method were: a questionnaire, a seven-point Likert scale, a standardised list of criteria for assessing the product life cycle, the WSM method, and a scale of relative states. The product analysis was carried out according to modified criteria states, which were evaluated according to: i) customer satisfaction (quality criteria), ii) environmental impact of LCA (environmental criteria), and iii) importance of quality and environmental criteria for customers. The originality of the method is to support the product improvement process to make it environmentally friendly within LCA and, at the same time, satisfactory to customers in terms of quality. The method will be used mainly by SMEs that want to initially predict the environmental impact of a product, including taking into account customer expectations.

Meeting the required quality level of products taking into account customer requirements is the essence of thriving enterprises. In this context, it is necessary to make decisions that take into account mentioned the quality level but also the cost aspect relevant to both customer and producer. It was concluded that it is possible to make analyse in which connected the quality level with the cost aspect will condition the make the best choice. Therefore, the aim of work was to propose the pro-quality method of choice by using the ordered fuzzy numbers connected with cost-quality analysis (AKJ). The subject of the study were machines used in pad printing technique, so-called pad print, which choice resulted from their problematic choice to specific and often variable working conditions. As part of the method by using ordered fuzzy numbers, using the Fuzzy TOPSIS method (The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) the most favorable machine by quality was determined. Subsequently, a pro-quality machine choice was made, and this choice combined the obtained quality level with the purchase cost through the use of cost-quality analysis. The proposed method is some kind of new approach to making the best decision, where the aspect of quality with the cost was connected. Therefore, the proposed method can be used to solve different types of decision problems in production and services enterprises.

The analyses of the nonconformity of products are made in order to achieve the desired level of their quality. This is also the case in the analyzed enterprise located in south-eastern Poland. Due to production character in this enterprise to identify the incompatibilities of products the non-destructive tests are used. In the current approach to quality after identified the nonconformities the cause her arise were determined, it was noted in order to use by statistical analyzes. Unfortunately, no deeper qualitative analyzes were made which could specify the source of its creation. Therefore, it was considered that it is necessary to propose to use (near current actions according to nondestructive tests) the sequence of quality management instruments. In order to improve the quality control actions, the sequence of techniques which complement each other, i.e. non-destructive tests, Ishikawa diagram and 5Why method, was proposed. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed sequence, the rear cover of the bearing turbine was selected as the subject of the analysis. The choice was conditioned by the unit character of production, which till now was discouraged a detailed analysis of sources of nonconformities. After analyzed the product with used the fluorescent method the nonconformities were identified on the rear cover of the bearing turbine, which was the porosity cluster. In order to identify the causes these nonconformities the Ishikawa diagram was drawn up. Next, the selected main causes (i.e. supplier of the product and nonconformities created during the production of the product) were analyzed the 5Why method in order to identify the source cause of the problem. In this case, it was the nonconformity material from the supplier. The proposed sequence, which uses the minimal resources let to show the wide range of information, which should be used to the improvement of quality. The presented the set of activities can be practised in each of the enterprises to analyze quality problems in order to identify the nonconformities and their causes.

Analysis of the incompatibilities occurring in an organization relies on identifying the problem and then applying the appropriate corrective and improvement actions. It is possible by using appropriate instruments of quality management and, basically, their sequence, which is a modern way of solving the problem, and it enables the improvement of functioning of an enterprise. Therefore, it is advisable to select an appropriate group of quality management instruments and use them in the appropriate sequence, because then they are complete and lead to full analysis and conclusions adequate to the problem. The aim of the article is to analyze the correlation and influence of the selected factors on the incompatibilities in selected processes, i.e. the production process of furniture fronts and furniture in general. Moreover, the idea is to use the appropriate sequence of instruments of quality management to solve various types of incompatibilities. The analysis was made at a company where a lot of different kinds of incompatibilities in processes were identified within 9 months. It was important to solve the problem for this enterprise because it was generating relatively large financial losses, and the lack of identified causes of the problem precluded taking preventive actions and developing the enterprise. After the initial analysis of the processes and problems, it was decided to use the correlation analysis, the Pareto-Lorenz diagram, the 5W2H method, the Ishikawa diagram and the 5Why method. The methodology and conclusions drawn from the analysis may be useful in solving complex problems at other production and service enterprises.

Meeting customers’ requirements and achieved the right level of product quality is key action of enterprises. It is being done by controlling the product, using for example non-destructive testing (NDT). But the NDT not indicating what is the root of incompatibility. Additionally, previous research does not include the decision methods, which would be related the identify the causes of the problem as part of improving the product quality. Therefore, the aim is supporting the process of improving the product quality level in the context of precisely identify the incompatibility and the root of their occurrence with including the solve decision problem. In this aim, it was assumed that using after the NDT research in connection way: brainstorming, cause and effect diagram, AHP method (Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process) and the 5Why method, will be allowed on effective identify the root of the problem. The method test was carried out for the porosity on a welded mechanical seal made of steel 410, which was identified by the fluorescence method (FPI) in Podkarpacie enterprise. The analysis has shown the effectiveness of using after NDT the combined methods as part of identifying the incompatibility and precisely identifying the root of its occurrence in context of solving the decision problem. The proposed method can be used to improving the quality of other products, for example from the aviation and automotive industry, as part of meeting customer requirements. The research of railway track surfaces is aimed at improving the quality of railway infrastructure and providing the chance of improving the safety of driving. Therefore, it is advisable to constantly monitor track surface, but the research itself is not innovative because it is based on a known procedure. The crucial element are the techniques that allow to delve into the sources of problems. The aim of the article is to use the selected instruments of quality management to analyze the causes of track twist at high (180 km/h) speed of driving. The analysis of the causes of track twist was done on the basis of results from the measurement of one kilometer track section of the Krakow Glowny - Medyka route, which was made by using the TEC measuring device in April 2018. It was inferred that it is impossible to reach 180 km/h without track twist. In order to identify the causes of track twist it was proposed to use the selected sequence of quality management instruments, i.e.: brainstorming, Ishikawa diagram and the 5Why method. The identified causes of track twist include the abrasion of rail, scratches and exploitation point. The analysis and conclusions drawn from it may be useful in the analysis of other problems in railway transport as well as production and service industries.

This risk is in case of the quality analysis, in which the choice and making a decision is not confirmed by reliable information (number). But these techniques do not include the risk of uncertainty, so their sequence should be expanded about the appropriate method, to take this into account. It was considered beneficial to demonstrate that this method is the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process method (FAHP). The aim of the study to implement the FAHP method in the sequence of traditional quality management techniques (Ishikawa diagram and 5Why method) and proposition new, not practiced yet the method to complex analysis of the problem and identify the root of its root cause. The subject of the study was the furniture front, on which the incompatibility was identified (shortened foil). From the categories to which the potential causes of the inadequate foil were assigned, by using the Ishikawa diagram and the FAHP method in an integrated manner, were defined the most important categories (method and machine) in a precise (numerical) way. Next, using the same tools, the relationship between the potential causes was analysed and selected the main causes of the problem. Then, by using the 5Why method the root of the problem was defined (lack of the new machine and failure to comply with labor standards). The obtained results could differ depending on the subjectivity, however, the method itself proved to be effective and can be used to solve other types of the problem.

Opis:
The activities of the organisation concentrate mainly on meeting customers’ requirements. For this purpose, various activities are being conducted for customer satisfaction surveys. In this context, it is important to predict the quality of the product and the changes in the cost of the purchase product. The purpose of this study is to propose a method for predicting the quality level of a product and change the cost of the product considering current customers’ requirements for a combination of product feature states and pro-quality changes. The method includes the calculation of the quality level of the product using the punctationformalised method, where the level depends on a combination of values of states (parameters) attributes of the product, that is, current and modified. The method was tested as an example of a household vacuum cleaner for which 20 attributes were determined. According to the Pareto rule (20/80), the four product attributes important for customers were selected. Thereafter, for important attributes, possible combinations of the values of these attributes were determined. In addition, an algorithm for determining the possible combinations of product attribute states in the MATLAB program was developed. Additionally, the change in the current cost of the product considering the change in the quality level was estimated. The product cost changes were determined based on the actual cost of the product and the current product quality level. The method allows the determination of all combinations of values of state attributes of the product, such that it is possible to take appropriate improvement actions both in terms of quality and cost. The results from the method allow the prediction of product satisfaction for customers and they are favourable in terms of production cost. Therefore, it is possible to design the product in advance and support the producer in preparatory activities.

The competitive and turbulent environment generates the need to use various techniques to determine the level of product quality. In this aim, it is necessary to determine the direction of improvement attributes and function of the product based on customer requirements, which are usually uncertain. Therefore, the aim of the article is to propose the technique to improve the product quality by precisely determine the customers' requirements and the importance of the quality parameters for the current attributes of the product. This technique is a combination of methods i.e.: the QFD method (Quality Function Deployment) with the GRA method (Grey Relational Analysis). Using the QFD method, customer requirements were translated into technical features of the product. In turn, using the GRA method the imprecise customers' requirements were reduced and the importance of quality parameters was determined in a more accurate way. A test of a combination of the QFD and GRA methods for the household vacuum cleaner was made. The originality of the article is ensuring a precise study of the current attributes of the product from the point of customer satisfaction.
