This paper presents results of investigation of the temperature dependence of visible luminescence in porous silicon layers prepared by anodization in hydrofluoric acid. Luminescence spectra were measured in the temperature range between 40 K and 350 K. Room temperature reflectivity spectra were also measured in vacuum ultraviolet radiation range from 4 eV to 12 eV.

The paper discusses issues related to ecological aspects of supply chain management in manufacturing enterprises. The article specifies the typology of forms of the impact manufacturing enterprises exert on the environment.
Artykuł podejmuje problematykę ekologicznych aspektów zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw w przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych. Przedstawiono w nim funkcjonowanie łańcucha dostaw w przedsiębiorstwie, a także poruszono kwestie minimalnych standardów proekologicznych stosowanych przez przedsiębiorców. W artykule określona została również typologia oddziaływań na środowisko przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego.

The electronic structure of a new semimagnetic semiconductor (Cd,Co)Se is studied by UPS and calculated by a tight-binding version of the disordered-local-moment theory. The theory accounts for the chemical disorder and for electron interactions within the Co 3d$\text{}^{7}$ shells. Both theory and experiment show Co 3d states deep in the valence band and also at the band edge. The last state seem to be responsible for unique properties of the Co-based semimagnetic semiconductors.

Opis:
The reflectivity spectra of Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Mn$\text{}_{x}$F$\text{}_{2}$ crystals, in the 5-35 eV energy range at 300 and 77 K, were investigated. The observed changes in the shape of spectra, caused by increase of the Mn content, are compared with the calculated band structure of pure CdF$\text{}_{2}$ and with the already available results of XPS experiments for these crystals. The increasing concentration of Mn results in the blurring of the reflectivity structures and shifts the energy of direct exciton (as compared to pure CdF$\text{}_{2}$). Qualitative arguments (hybridization of Mn$\text{}^{2+}$ 3d and F$\text{}^{-}$ 2p states) can describe these effects but a quantitative explanation would require a detailed band structure calculation for these compounds.

Opis:
The paper discusses the issue of the development of timber production market and timber industry in Poland and selected EU countries. The potential of forest resources in Poland against the background of other European countries is presented, as well as selected aspects exerting impact on the development processes of the sector of production. Particular attention is paid to the structure of ownership of forests in Poland and selected countries of the European Union. The structure of the use of means for research and development is analyzed with particular focus on those branches which allocate the biggest amounts for such purposes. Technological trends in the timber industry in Poland is described. Finally the prospects in the development of timber industry in the near future are discussed.
Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie rozwoju rynku produkcji drewna oraz branży drzewnej w Polsce i wybranych krajach Unii Europejskiej. Przedstawiony został potencjał zasobów leśnych Polski na tle innych państw wspólnoty oraz najważniejsze, wybrane aspekty wpływające na przebieg procesów rozwojowych tego sektora produkcji. Zwrócono również uwagę na strukturę własności lasów w Polsce oraz wybranych krajów Unii Europejskiej. Przeanalizowano strukturę wykorzystania środków na działalność badawczo-rozwojową, z wyszczególnieniem branż, które na tą działalność przeznaczyły najwięcej środków. Opisano trendy technologiczne w branży drzewnej w Polsce. Ponadto określono perspektywy rozwoju przemysłu drzewnego w najbliższych latach.

The paper deals with the issue of corporate social responsibility as an instrument of operationalising the paradigm of sustainable development on the microeconomic level in the sector of production enterprises. It presents a genesis and importance of CSR and indicates the most relevant essential instruments of CSR implementation on an enterprise level. The paper also analyses endogenous and exogenous benefits from implementing CSR into the business practice.
Artykuł podejmuje problematykę społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu jako instrumentu opercjonalizacji paradygmatu zrównoważonego rozwoju na poziomie mikroekonomicznym, w sektorze przedsiębiorstw produkcyjnym. Przedstawiono w nim genezę i znaczenie CSR oraz wskazano najważniejsze instrumenty realizacji CSR na poziomie przedsiębiorstwa. Jednocześnie omówiono korzyści o charakterze endo- i egzogenicznym wynikające z wdrożenia CSR do praktyki gospodarczej.

Opis:
The CdTe(100) c(2×2) surface prepared by ion bombardment and annealing was investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation with photon energies between 8.5 eV and 32 eV. The bulk band structure was determined along the ΓΔX-direction normal to the surface measuring energy-distribution curves. The results are compared with a theoretical valence band structure assuming free-electron-like final states in connection with k-conservation. For further comparison we calculated the final states by the pseudopotential method and analyzed the results in form of structure plots. In this way, most of the dispersing maxima in the normal emission spectra can be explained. For this mode of photoelectron spectroscopy the resulting dispersion must be due to the component of the Bloch wave vector normal to the surface, k$\text{}_{⊥}$, keeping surface related structures at a fixed binding energy position E$\text{}_{b}$. The lack of dispersion for five structures along ΓΔX gives experimental evidence for their surface origin.

Opis:
Unreconstructed CdTe(100) surface prepared by ion bombardment and annealing is investigated by angle-resolved photoemission. The experimental band structure E(k$\text{}_{∥}$) is determined along high-symmetry lines of the surface Brillouin zone by measuring energy-distribution curves of photoelectrons. Different criteria were applied to separate surface and bulk related spectral features, e.g. calculating the position of bulk-derived emissions in the frame of the free-electron final state approximation assuming k conservation. In this way, most dispersing features could be explained. All remaining features were compared with theoretical surface band structures for different polar surface terminations which were calculated within a layer doubling procedure on the basis of an EHT-fit to the bulk band structure. The investigated CdTe(100)-(1×1) surface could be identified as Cd terminated. Two surface bands were observed, one located above the valence-band edge and the second in the open pocket of the projected bulk band structure along the Γ̅K̅ direction. At 4.6 eV binding energy an additional weakly dispersing band was found, which contains mixed surface and bulk character. The high density of bulk states associated with this edge of the heteropolar gap is also expected to contribute to this feature.

The synchrotron radiation in the energy range between 40 and 80 eV was applied to investigate the electronic structure of Hg$\text{}_{0.7}$Mn$\text{}_{0.3}$Se, Hg$\text{}_{0.88}$Fe$\text{}_{0.12}$Se and Hg$\text{}_{0.93}$Co$\text{}_{0.07}$Se crystals by means of the resonant photoemission spectroscopy. The set of energy distribution curves was measured in the region near the M (M = Mn 3d$\text{}^{5}$, Fe 3d$\text{}^{6}$, Co 3d$\text{}^{7}$) 3p-3d transitions. In order to determine thoroughly the Fano type resonance energy the constant initial states curves were measured.

We present a new outlook at the study of metal-semiconductor interface formation. A resonant photoemission spectroscopy tuned to the Fe 3p-3d transition (56 eV) was used to investigate the changes after sequential deposition of Fe atoms on freshly cleaved Cd$\text{}_{0.86}$Fe$\text{}_{0.14}$Se crystal surface. In the first stages (0.6-4 ML) of Fe deposition the contribution of Fe 3d electrons to the valence band grows up markedly indicating the increase in Fe content in the Cd$\text{}_{0.86}$Fe$\text{}_{0.14}$Se crystal surface region. When the amount of Fe exceed 40 ML the resonant photoemission spectra became similar to the Fe metal with some contribution of the ternary crystal substrate.

A resonant photoemission was used to study the ternary crystal formation, when small amount of Fe atoms was deposited (in one monolayer range of thickness) on the clean CdTe(100) surface. The constant initial state spectra taken near the Fe 3p-3d transition after Fe deposition and then again after heating process show the existence of two Fano-like resonance. The differences of the energy distribution curves taken for both resonance and antiresonance, respectively, allow us to distinguish two kind of Fe 3d contributions to the valence band: one derived from the metallic Fe islands on the surface and the second - derived from the Fe atoms built into the Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Fe$\text{}_{x}$Te crystal.

We report a new approach to investigate metal-semiconductor interface formation. Photoemission spectroscopy was applied in order to investigate the clean surface of a Sn$\text{}_{0.97}$Cr$\text{}_{0.03}$ Te crystal and to observe its changes under sequential deposition of small amounts of Cr atoms. In order to analyse the Cr 3d contribution to the valence band, the Fano-type resonance tuned to the Cr 3p-3d transition was used. The experiment was designed to follow the Sn$\text{}_{0.97}$Cr$\text{}_{0.03}$ Te/Cr interface formation process. At the clean Sn$\text{}_{0.97}$Cr$\text{}_{0.03}$Te surface, the Cr 3d states contribution to the valence band was found to be positioned 0.8 eV below the Fermi level. After the Cr deposition processes the contribution shifted to a higher binding energy and another contribution 5.8 eV below the Fermi level was also observed.
