    Opis:
    Various archives concerning the issues of daily life in East Prussia during World War II have been preserved in the State Archives in Olsztyn (APO). In the archival units, it is possible to find both information concerning both the German preparations for the war in the province and the course of the war not only in East Prussia, but also on the Western Front – in Belgium or France, the process of reconstruction of the destroyed East Prussian villages and towns and the means of commemorating the fallen soldiers fighting on both sides. The archives of the First World War and its consequences relate to many units. The intention of the author was to present the history of the First World War on the basis of archives assembled in the APO and in the Royal Calendar of Prussian Evangelicals in 1916 and in 1917, stored in the Research Centre in Olsztyn. The files stored in the APO are diverse and allow for a comprehensive understanding of issues relating to the course of this war, ranging from mobilization, military operations, Russian occupation, to the crimes and war crimes committed by the aggressor on the local civilian population. A separate aspect touches on the process of reconstruction of the province from the time of destruction and includes the care of war casualties.

    Magnetic properties of polycrystalline thin films of chromium chalcogenide spinels (CdCr$\text{}_{2}$Se$\text{}_{4}$ lightly doped with indium and CdCr$\text{}_{2x}$In$\text{}_{2-2x}$Se$\text{}_{4}$) were studied. The ferromagnetic (FMR) and spin-wave resonance (SWR) techniques were used to investigate the temperature dependences of both the spin-wave stiffness constant D and the saturation magnetization M$\text{}_{s}$. The resonance spectra were recorded in the temperature range extending from 4.2 K to 300 K. The influence of indium concentration on M$\text{}_{s}$(T) and D(T) was studied. It was shown that lightly doped samples (In/Cd < 1% at.) exhibited the ferromagnetic ordering with M$\text{}_{s}$(T) and D(T) being the linear functions of T$\text{}^{3}$ $\text{}^{/}$ $\text{}^{2}$ and T$\text{}^{5}$ $\text{}^{/}$ $\text{}^{2}$, respectively. Higher concentration of indium produced the reentrant transition and spin-glass state of magnetic ordering in CdCr$\text{}_{2x}$In$\text{}_{2-2x}$Se$\text{}_{4}$. The temperature dependence of M$\text{}_{s}$ was also found from the FMR data for these two magnetic phases.

    We used the irreversibilities between the field cooled and zero field cooled dc magnetization to determine the field and composition dependence of the spin-glass freezing temperature in CdCr$\text{}_{2}$Se$\text{}_{4}$ : In (REE) and CdCr$\text{}_{2-2x}$In$\text{}_{2x}$Se$\text{}_{4}$ (0.15 ≤ x ≤ 0.35) (SG) thin films. The H-T phase diagram of samples with REE has two instability lines: the Gabay-Toulouse-type (G-T) and the De Almeida-Thouless-type (A-T) while samples in SG state are characterized by the A-T line. The A-T line of thin films was used for calculation the normalised internal magnetic field h$\text{}_{m}$ of infinite spin clusters with long range ordering.

    Magnetic resonance technique may successfully be applied to determine some basic parameters such as g-factor, magnetization M$\text{}_{s}$ or anisotropy energy constant K$\text{}_{u}$ in thin magnetic films. These parameters are obtained from a ferromagnetic resonance experiment when uniform precession of M$\text{}_{s}$ takes place. From spin-wave resonance one may extract very valuable information on the exchange constant A or the surface conditions characterized by the surface anisotropy energy (or pinning parameters ρ). In fact, it is only spin-wave resonance or similar techniques which allow for measurements of A, ρ or the coupling constant K$\text{}_{c}$ between ferromagnetic sublayers in multi-layered structure. The magnetic phase diagram, temperature dependence of the spin-waves stiffness constant, and the anisotropy energy constant may also be listed as less common examples of spin-wave resonance technique application for the investigation of thin films. This paper presents a theoretical approach to typical examples of experimental results and their interpretation from spin-wave resonance measurements.

    Opis:
    The degree of electronic localization in disordered one-dimensional systems is discussed. The model is simplified to a set of Diracδ-like functions used for the potential in the Schrödinger equation and calculations are carried out for the ground state. The disorder of topological character is introduced by the random shifts of the potential peaks. For comparison, we also discuss two aperiodic systems of the potential peaks: Thue-Morse and Fibonacci sequences. The localization, both in the momentum and the real space, is analyzed for different disorder strengths and sizes of the system. We calculate the localization length, and additionally we express the localization effects in terms of the inverse participation function and also by means of the Husimi quasi-classical distribution function in the phase space of the electron (position, momentum) coordinate system. We present the influence of disorder generated by the random and aperiodic sequences of potential on the energy spectrum.

    Opis:
    The contents of Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, S, V and Zn in road dust samples taken from the inside of seven road tunnels in the area ofWarsaw by ICP-OES technique were quantified. These deposits are characterized by high content of copper (ranging from 44 to387 mg/kg) and contents of chromium (15–36 mg/kg), nickel (9–17 mg/kg), lead (19–37 mg/kg) and zinc (101–258 mg/kg) increased in comparison to those typical of soils in the Polish Lowlands. In turn, the examined dust samples contain cadmium, cobalt and vanadium in concentrations close to the average for soils in this region.

    Celem przeprowadzonych badań było porównanie charakterystyk otrzymanych: w testach wytrzymałościowych i z pomiarów spektroskopowych. W pracy wyznaczono podstawowe parametry mechaniczne skóry, które są zdeterminowane ułożeniem włókien kolagenowych. Następnie zarejestrowano widma ramanowskie badanej tkanki, zidentyfikowano pasma charakterystyczne dla białka kolagenowego. Na podstawie analizy uzyskanych wyników, dla kolejnych etapów rozciągnięcia skóry, zaobserwowano między innymi różnice w położeniu maksimum pasma amidu I (1658cm-1) w zależności od kierunku rozciągania próbki. Porównanie, w obu metodach charakterystycznych zakresów, zachodzących zmian wykazało możliwość stosowania Spektroskopii Ramana w celu wyznaczenia kierunku ułożenia włókien kolagenowych w trakcie rozciągania co jest istotne z punktu widzenia przeszczepów skóry.
    The aim of the investigations was to compare the characteristics obtained from strength tests and spectroscopic measurements. The basic skin parameters dependent on the arrangement of collagen fibres were determined. Then Raman spectra of the investigated tissue were recorded and bands characteristic of collagen protein were identified. An analysis of the results for the successive stages of skin stretching showed, among other things, differences in the location of the amid I band maximum (1658cm-1) depending on the direction of specimen stretching. A comparison of the characteristic ranges of change determined by the two methods showed that Raman spectroscopy can be used to ascertain the orientation of collagen fibres in the course of stretching, which information is essential for skin transplantation.
