To make clear the feasibility and influence factors of diesel fuel autothermal reforming to hydrogen, PdCeCr-FeCu/Al2O3 catalyst was prepared by equivalent-volume impregnation method. Experimental facility based on an adiabatic tubular reactor with preheating section was designed and set up, the behaviors of diesel reforming to hydrogen with straight-run diesel as a raw material according to the analysis of the components were studied. Diesel oil reforming over a catalyst for hydrogen production was analyzed using an adiabatic tubular reactor with a preheating section that was designed and built in-house. The operating conditions were optimized. Under the suitable operating conditions, viz., catalyst bed inlet temperature of 700°C, diesel liquid space velocity of 0.24 h–1, water-carbon ratio of 20, and oxygen-carbon ratio of 0.6, the hydrogen yield reached 28.3 (mol/mol).

There lacks an automated decision-making method for soil conditioning of EPBM with high accuracy and efficiency that is applicable to changeable geological conditions and takes drive parameters into consideration. A hybrid method of Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT) and random forest algorithm to make decisions on soil conditioning using foam is proposed in this paper to realize automated decision-making. Relevant parameters include decision parameters (geological parameters and drive parameters) and target parameters (dosage of foam). GBDT, an efficient algorithm based on decision tree, is used to determine the weights of geological parameters, forming 3 parameters sets. Then 3 decision-making models are established using random forest, an algorithm with high accuracy based on decision tree. The optimal model is obtained by Bayesian optimization. It proves that the model has obvious advantages in accuracy compared with other methods. The model can realize real-time decision-making with high accuracy under changeable geological conditions and reduce the experiment cost.

The thermal decomposition processes of HAN/PVA-based propellants have been investigated using a simultaneous thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) – differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), coupled with Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) system. The activation energy (Ea), pre-exponential factor A and reaction mechanism function f(α) of the decomposition processes have been determined by non-isothermal and Malek methods. The results showed that the decomposition process of an HAN/PVA sample occurs mainly in the temperature range 202.2~220.1 °C, with a mass loss, heat release and Ea of about 84.8%, 1474.18 and 88.76 kJ·mol–1, respectively. Of the seven metal oxides studied as catalysts, Al2O3, V2O5 and Fe2O3 have significant catalytic effects on an HAN/PVA-based propellant, in lowering the decomposition temperature, with Ea changing from 88.8 to 83.7, 85.6 and 113.6 kJ·mol–1, respectively. The f(α) of both HAN/PVA and HAN/PVA/Al2O3 samples can be expressed as f(α) = (1 – α)2, whereas f(α) = α or f(α) = α/2 fit well for the HAN/PVA/V2O5 and HAN/PVA/Fe2O3 samples.

Opis:
Bacterial adsorption on mineral surface is one of the key steps in bioleaching process. The bacteria adsorb on the mineral surface via the extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) layer. In this paper, the behavior of glucuronic acid, one of the key substances in EPS layer, adsorbed on the pyrite surface is studied using DFT and electrochemical methods. Adsorption capacity of glucuronic acid is stronger than that of water. Glucuronic acid adsorbs on pyrite surfaces and it follows a mixed type of interactions (physisorption and chemisorption). Adsorption of glucuronic acid on pyrite surface followed Langmuir’s adsorption isotherm with adsorption standard free energy of –27.67kJ mol-1. The structural and electronic parameters were calculated and discussed.

In this study, the effectiveness of the electrocoagulation (EC) process was evaluated based on the reduction of organic and nitrogenous contaminants in landfill leachate. A three-compartment electrochemical reactor as pre-treatment of stabilized landfill leachate was carried out ahead of biological treatment. The removal efficiencies of COD, BOD, ammonia, and nitrate were analyzed at pH 4, 6, and 8 with the current densities of $20.83$ and $29.17 mA•cm^{–2}$. At pH 4, the highest removal of COD and $NH_4^+$ was obtained, i.e., in the range of 72–81% and 43–59%, respectively. The ratio of $BOD_5$/$COD$ was increased after EC, from initially 0.11 to 0.32 at pH 4. In addition, EC effectively removed humic substances in the leachate by targeting a large amount of high molecular weight humic substances, with around $10^3$ kDa. However, the higher removal efficiency observed at higher current density leads to higher specific energy consumption. At a current density of $29.17 mA•cm^{–2}$, the specific energy consumption obtained in EC was around $10–17 Wh•g^{–1}$ COD and $99–148 Wh•g^{–1}$ $NH_4^+$. This could be decreased up to 50% at an applied current density of $20.83 mA•cm^{–2}$ with slightly lower efficiencies.

En el presente trabajo se propone analizar las relaciones entre el concepto de una “comunidad de destino común” o “comunidad de destino compartido para la humanidad”, y la implementación de la iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta en el caso de Argentina. Esta propuesta de comunidad fue presentada por el presidente chino Xi Jinping por primera vez en 2011. El lanzamiento de la iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta (IFR) dos años después no solo se caracteriza como un proyecto económico, sino también contiene dimensiones políticas, culturales y sociales. Se considera esta Nueva Ruta de la Seda un instrumento práctico para alcanzar el objetivo de construir una “comunidad de destino común”. Por ende, resulta importante reflexionar sobre el nacimiento de este concepto chino como finalidad de la iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta y como uno de los ejes centrales de la política exterior china, desde una perspectiva constructivista de ideas e identidades y los pensamientos tradicionales chinos en materia de política exterior. Estos abordajes nos permiten investigar la factibilidad de construir dicha comunidad entre China y Argentina por medio de la IFR, centrándonos en exponer los retos posibles en este camino.
The aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between the concept of a “community of common destiny” or “community of shared destiny for mankind”, and the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in the case of Argentina. The “community” proposal was first presented by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2011. The launch of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) two years later is characterized as an economic project, but it also contains political, cultural and social dimensions. This New Silk Road is considered a practical instrument to achieve the objective of building a “community of common destiny”. Therefore, it is important to reflect on the birth of this Chinese concept as the purpose of the Belt and Road Initiative and as one of the central axes of Chinese foreign policy, from a constructivist perspective of ideas and identities, and traditional Chinese thoughts on foreign policy. These approaches allow to investigate the feasibility of building such a community between China and Argentina through the BRI, focusing on exposing possible challenges along this path.

MFD is widely used in traffic state evaluation because of its description of the macro level of urban road network. Aiming at the control strategy optimization problem of urban arterial road network under saturated traffic flow state, this study analyzes the MFD characteristics of a typical three-segment "ascending-stable-descending segment" and its advantages in characterizing the macroscopic operation efficiency of the road network, a arterial coordination control strategy considering MFD is proposed. According to the characteristics of MFD, it is proposed that the slope of the ascending segment and the capacity of the road network represent the operating efficiency of the free flow and saturated flow of the road network respectively. The traffic flow and density data of road segment are obtained by the road detector through Vissim simulation software. Aiming at the problem that the MFD is too discrete due to unreasonable control strategy or traffic condition, and in order to extract the MFD optimization target indicators, it is proposed to extract the key boundary points of the MFD by the “tic-tac-toe” method and divide the MFD state by Gaussian mixture clustering. The genetic algorithm integrates the multi-objective particle swarm algorithm as the solution algorithm, and the simulation iterative process is completed through Python programming and the com interface of Vissim software. In order to verify the validity of the model and algorithm, the actual three-intersections arterial road network is used for verification, and the model in this study is compared with the optimization model without considering MFD, the model solved by traditional algebraic method, and the optimization model solved by typical multi-objective particle swarm. Results show that the model in this research performs well in efficiency indicators such as total delay, average delay, and queue coefficient. At the same time, the MFD form has highest stability, the control effect is the best in the saturated state. The solution algorithm GA-MOPSO also has a better solution effect.

The surface roughness and residual stress behavior in two types of SiNx/SiO2 dielectric quarter-wave stacks was investigated experimentally. A reactive pulsed magnetron sputtering system was used to prepare the SiNx/SiO2 multilayer thin films. The results show that SiNx/SiO2 quarter-wave stack with a buffer layer of MgF2 thin film can reduce the residual stress. The effect of aging on the residual stress in two quarter-wave stacks was also studied. We found that the residual stresses in both SiNx/SiO2 multilayer coatings are changed from a compressive state to a tensile stress state with increasing the aging time. The root mean square (RMS) surface roughness of MgF2/(SiNx/SiO2)22 and (SiNx/SiO2)22 quarter-wave stacks are 2.23 ± 0.22 nm and 2.08 ± 0.20 nm, respectively.

Chien-Ting Lin Re-signifying “Asia” in the Transnational Turn of Asian/American Studies Abstract Bringing inter-Asia cultural studies into conversation with Asian American critique, this paper aims to reframe the critical analysis of the scattered hegemonies of US imperialism in articulating the transpacific historical interconnections. Rather than privileging the US as a primary site of investigation and critique, I draw careful attention to the Cold War conditions of inter-Asia migration as an entry point for discussing how the geopolitics of Taiwanese modernity, from the Cold War up to neoliberal globalization, are inextricably linked to Japanese colonialism, US militarism and modernization, and Chinese globalization. To develop my theoretical and historical (re)conceptualization of “Asia” in Asian/American studies, I look at how the migrant narrative of migrant workers in the nonfiction novel Our Stories speaks to the power dynamics of the US Cold War involvement in Asia, neoliberal globalization, and Taiwan subimperialist relations with its neighboring countries. Whereas Asian American cultural critique offers a new analytics to enable a reconceptualization of Asian America without confining it to an identitarian category, inter-Asia cultural studies redirect critical attention to the historical undercurrents of inter-Asia geopolitics that are largely obscured by the dominant knowledge paradigm of the US Cold War politics in the regions of Asia Pacific.

This paper conducts an analysis of the implementation of the new electoral system (single-district, two-votes system) in practice in 2008. It is focused on the research of two aspects: first, the voter’s awareness of the new electoral system; second, the impact of the new electoral system on the political party system. In the research methods, this article combines the analysis of an individual survey data and information on the election results, trying to find an answer to the question about Taiwan’s voters knowledge of the electoral system situation, the factors that affect the knowledge of the electoral system, as well as the issues of the new electoral system’s impact on the change and development of the political party system. The research has found out that: Taiwan’s voter awareness of the current electoral system is not high. The further research into the relations between the knowledge of the electoral system and the voting choice, as well as the control of other possible factors of influence, showed that the voters who have a more correct and clear understanding of the electoral system have the tendency to vote for small parties. From the results of the general information, the practice of the electoral system indeed led to the decline in pluralistic views. The number of effective parties in the parliament has significantly decreased to that one before restructuring. The new electoral system has made survival difficult for small parties, while the rate of the wasted vote in the regional constituency increased dramatically, making it more difficult to represent pluralistic views.These possible problems caused by the new electoral system, also triggered reactions and initiatives among the domestic public concerning the reform of the electoral system in 2015.
W niniejszym opracowaniu dokonano analizy wdrożenia nowego systemu wyborczego (system jednoizbowy, system dwóch głosów) w praktyce w 2008 r. Skoncentrowano się na badaniu dwóch aspektów: po pierwsze, świadomości wyborców nowego systemu wyborczego; po drugie, wpływ nowego systemu wyborczego na system partyjny. W metodach badawczych artykuł ten łączy analizę poszczególnych danych ankietowych i informacji o wynikach wyborów, próbując znaleźć odpowiedź na pytanie o tajwańską wyborców wiedzę na temat sytuacji w systemie wyborczym, czynniki wpływające na znajomość systemu wyborczego , a także kwestie wpływu nowego systemu wyborczego na zmianę i rozwój systemu partii politycznej. Badania wykazały, że: tajwańska świadomość wyborców dotycząca obecnego systemu wyborczego nie jest wysoka. Dalsze badania zależności między wiedzą o systemie wyborczym a wyborem do głosowania, a także kontrola innych możliwych czynników wpływu, wykazały, że wyborcy, którzy mają bardziej poprawne i jasne zrozumienie systemu wyborczego, mają tendencję do głosuj na małe imprezy. Z wyników ogólnych informacji wynika, że praktyka systemu wyborczego doprowadziła do spadku pluralistycznych poglądów. Liczba skutecznych partii w parlamencie znacznie zmniejszyła się do tej przed restrukturyzacją. Nowy system wyborczy utrudnił przetrwanie małym partiom, a tempo zmarnowanego głosowania w regionalnym okręgu wyborczym dramatycznie wzrosło, utrudniając reprezentowanie pluralistycznych poglądów. Te ewentualne problemy spowodowane przez nowy system wyborczy również wywołały reakcje i inicjatywy wśród krajowej opinii publicznej dotyczące reformy systemu wyborczego w 2015 roku.

Taiwan’s inclusive education has been developed fully through national legislations and local government policies since 1984 within the Special Education Act. This national law clearly mandates the concept of inclusive education for the students with special education needs starting from the age of two. This article presents two sections of research on the implementation of regulations in inclusive education. The first was at the local government level of Kaohsiung City with design for the in-service teachers training program in special education. The second one was a school-wide level focus on differentiated instruction implementation for kindergarten teachers. The document analysis, action research and case method were applied in these studies. The result of the first section study was that 52 preschool teachers completed a 60-hour special education professional course held by Kaohsiung City in 2019 to 2020. The result of the second section study was a school-wide inclusive education practical model with administrative suport and teachers’ competency in differentiated instruction of six cases. Two studies showed positive results of inclusive education practice for a municipality and a preschool level in Taiwan.

The purpose of the article is to present the origin and history of auspicious Chinese New Year pictures, as well as to describe them. The importance of the nianhua within Chinese culture is also analyzed. The main focus of this study is the traditional auspicious Chinese New Year pictures made by woodcut printing and created before the 1930s, when modern printing technology was invented. The topic of the article is not limited to Chinese New Year pictures. In fact, it is broader and deeper than it seems. Each nianhua is but an introduction to another aspect of Chinese art and culture. The auspicious nianhua are the expression of the magical–mythological perception of the world connected to Chinese auspicious culture 吉祥文化 nianhuawénhuà. The article is divided in two sections. In the first section, the origin and history of nianhua are presented and discussed. The second section contains an analysis of the symbolic nianhua, which are connected with Chinese auspicious culture. These are well-developed pictures from the period when the art of creating nianhua was flourishing. These kinds of pictures may be a key to understanding the desires, wishes, and worldview of the Chinese people.

This paper investigates the influence of film thickness on the electrical and mechanical properties of transparent indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films. Two groups of ITO thin films deposited on unheated substrates were prepared by the radio-frequency magnetron sputtering technique. The biaxial residual stress and surface roughness for two groups of ITO thin films were measured by a Twyman–Green interferometer and a Linnik microscopic interferometer, respectively. The electrical resistivity of the ITO films was measured by a four-point probe apparatus, the thickness was determined mechanically with a profilometer. The measurement results show that the average resistivity of ITO thin films decreases with increasing the deposited thickness. The compressive residual stress in the ITO thin films decreases with increasing the deposited thickness. We also find that an anisotropic stress in the two groups of ITO films is more compressive in a certain direction. The RMS surface roughness in the two groups of ITO films is less than 1 nm.

Objectives This study’s objective was to examine association between sleep duration and sleep quality, and metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its components in Taiwanese male police officers. Material and Methods Male police officers who underwent annual health examinations were invited to join the study and eventually a total of 796 subjects was included in it. The study subjects were divided into 5 groups according to the length (duration) of sleep: < 5, 5–5.9, 6–6.9, 7–7.9 and ≥ 8 h per day, and the global Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index was used to categorize their sleep quality as good or poor. To analyze the association between sleep problems and MetS, adjusted odds ratio and respective 95% confidence intervals (CI) were computed. Results The prevalence of MetS in Taiwanese male police officers was 24.5%. Abdominal obesity had the highest proportion (36.2%) among 5 components of MetS. More than 1/2 of the police officers (52.3%) had poor sleep quality. Police officers with higher scores of sleep disturbances had a higher prevalence of MetS (p = 0.029) and abdominal obesity (p = 0.009). After adjusting for age, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, smoking status, alcohol drinking habit, physical habitual exercise, snoring and type of shift work, the police officers who slept less than 5 h were 88% more likely to suffer from abdominal obesity than those who slept 7–7.9 h (95% CI: 1.01–3.5). Sleep quality was not associated with MetS and its components. Conclusions The police officers who slept less than 5 h were more likely to experience abdominal obesity in Taiwan, and those with higher scores of sleep disturbances had a higher prevalence of MetS and abdominal obesity. It is recommended that police officers with short sleep duration or sleep disturbances be screened for MetS and waist circumference in order to prevent cardiovascular diseases.

Our main results for random walks on a group G are: (i) The following are equivalent for an adapted regular probability on G: μ is strictly aperiodic; $U^n$ converges weakly for every continuous unitary representation of G; U is weakly mixing for any ergodic group action in a probability space. It is well known that a weakly almost periodic operator T in a Banach space is mean ergodic, and in the complex case, also λT is mean ergodic for every |λ|=1. We prove that a positive contraction on $L_1$ is weakly almost periodic if (and only if) it is mean ergodic. An example shows that without positivity the result is false. In order to construct a contraction T on a complex $L_1$ such that λT is mean ergodic whenever |λ|=1, but T is not weakly almost periodic, we prove the following: Let τ be an invertible weakly mixing non-singular transformation of a separable atomless probability space. Then there exists a complex function $φ ∈ L_∞$ with |φ(x)|=1 a.e. such that for every λ ∈ℂ with |λ|=1 the function ⨍ ≡ 0 is the only solution of the equation ⨍(τx)=λφ(x)⨍(x). Moreover, the set of such functions φ is residual in the set of all complex unimodular measurable functions (with the $L_1$ topology)

The objective of this study is to examine the influences of heat loss characterized by a percentage of fuel's energy, friction and variable specific heats of working fluid on the performance of an air standard Diesel cycle with the restriction of maximum cycle temperature. A more realistic and precise relationship between the fuel's chemical energy and the heat leakage that is constituted on a pair of inequalities is derived through the resulting temperature. The variations in power output and thermal efficiency with compression ratio, and the relations between the power output and the thermal efficiency of the cycle are presented. The results show that the power output as well as the efficiency where maximum power output occurs will increase with the increase of maximum cycle temperature. The temperature-dependent specific heats of working fluid have a significant influence on the performance. The power output and the working range of the cycle increase while the efficiency decreases with increasing specific heats of working fluid. The friction loss has a negative effect on the performance. Therefore, the power output and efficiency of the cycle decrease with increasing friction loss. It is noteworthy that the effects of heat loss characterized by a percentage of fuel's energy, friction and variable specific heats of working fluid on the performance of a Diesel-cycle engine are significant and should be considered in practice cycle analysis. The results obtained in the present study are of importance to provide a good guidance for the performance evaluation and improvement of practical Diesel engines.

In most cases, passing beam is used when this is required because of the current traffic conditions. Due to the necessity of limiting the dazzling effect, the passing beam is divided into two parts: the lower one (“light”), which is to illuminate the road correctly and over as long a distance ahead of the vehicle as possible, and the upper one (“shadow”), which is to inform about the presence of a moving vehicle on the road. The headlamps must be precisely aimed to obtain the maximum range of road illumination with limited dazzle. The minimum requirements for passing beam have been laid down in type-approval and operational regulations. Based on the maximum acceptable range of headlamp aiming tolerances as specified in UN ECE Regulation No. 48, the illuminated road length ahead of the vehicle may vary from 20 m to 200 m. If the operational tolerances (i.e. those applicable to vehicles during normal operation) are taken as a basis, this variability range may be even wider. On the other hand, the photometric characteristics of the light beam close to the road surface depend on the said requirements, on the photometric characteristics of the headlamps actually installed on the vehicle, and on the actual headlamp aiming and alignment. From the traffic safety point of view, a matter of great significance for a vehicle being in use is the actual distance to which the road is illuminated. This issue is also important in the case of a need for accident reconstruction. The factors that affect the road illumination range, which is critical for the detection of road obstacles, have been analysed herein, with taking into account the measurements and calculations carried out for real headlamps that can be found in vehicles as well as the possible values of the vertical inclination and horizontal deflection of the light beam. Conclusions drawn from an assessment of the current state of laws and technologies have also been presented.
Światła mijania są najczęściej używane ze względu na warunki ruchu drogowego. Z powodu konieczności ograniczenia olśnienia światła te mają podzieloną wiązkę świetlną na dwie części: dolną czyli „światło”, która ma za zadanie prawidłowo i możliwie daleko oświetlić drogę i górną czyli „cień” której zadaniem jest sygnalizowanie obecności na drodze pojazdu znajdującego się w ruchu. Światła te powinny być precyzyjnie ustawione w celu uzyskania maksymalnego zasięgu oświetlanej drogi przy ograniczonym olśnieniu. Minimalne wymagania dotyczące świateł mijania zawarte są w przepisach homologacyjnych i eksploatacyjnych. Przyjmując zakres dopuszczalnych tolerancji ustawienia określonych w regulaminie Europejskiej Komisji Gospodarczej ONZ nr 48 zasięg oświetlanej drogi może zmieniać się od 20 m do 200 m. Uwzględniając tolerancje eksploatacyjne ustawienia świateł przedział zmian jest jeszcze większy. Natomiast wartości parametrów fotometrycznych wiązki świetlnej w pobliżu drogi są pochodną tych wymagań oraz parametrów fotometrycznych rzeczywistych reflektorów zainstalowanych na pojeździe oraz rzeczywistego ustawienia świateł. W przypadku eksploatacji samochodu ważny jest rzeczywisty zasięg oświetlenia drogi ze względu na bezpieczeństwo ruchu drogowego. Jest on także istotny w przypadku potrzeby rekonstrukcji wypadków. W artykule przeanalizowano czynniki wpływające na zasięg oświetlenia drogi jako podstawowy czynnik zauważenia przeszkód z uwzględnieniem pomiarów i obliczeń dla rzeczywistych reflektorów spotykanych na pojazdach oraz możliwych wartości pochylenia i odchylenia wiązki świetlnej. Przedstawiono także wnioski wynikające z oceny obecnego stanu przepisów i stosowanych technologii.

Shirley Geok-lin LimUniversity of California, Santa BarbaraUSA Money, Power, and Immigrant Sons in Chang-Rae Lee’s Native Speaker: Looking for the American Father The article explores the convergence of four major American novelistic traditions (the mating-marriage tale, the immigrant story of assimilation and acculturation, detective fiction, and socio-political/socio-economist fiction) in Chang-rae Lee’s acclaimed first novel, Native Speaker (1995), which dramatizes the tragic dynamics between ambition, money, power and moral loss and which offers the reader an insight into a late 20th century narrative of the formation of the new immigrants in the US, where earlier Euro-and, particularly, Anglo-norms are contested by multicultural, multilingual forces driven by globalized hyper-capitalist superstructures. In this unsettled setting, the common 20th century master plots of white-as-native tensions with non-white-immigrant-as-the-Other are interrogated, fragmented and re-assembled in a kinetic metropolis of multiple Otherness, in which money and power, two intrinsically intertwined forces, rule. In the novel’s increasingly melodramatic narration of disillusionment, violence and murder, its more primal emotional trajectory arguably is not heterosexual romance, with which the novel begins and ends, but with the quest for a male identity congruent with that generally adopted as a model in the United States. In the novel, male identity is problematized by its embedded contextualization in multiple-tongued, duplicitous and abject ethnic identities, still subordinate or subaltern to white-Anglophone-centric norms. The elder Korean male figures (the father, the political mentor), present in the novel, fail to, or cannot, serve as American fathers. Without fathers able to nurture the immigrant son to a psychologically successful manhood (dramatized as a subject possessing authentic agency with the capacity to sustain intimate and social relationships), the novel’s late 20th century re-inscription of the quintessentially American theme of quest for individual self takes the English language (also allegorized in the figure of the upper-class white wife, Leila) as the sentimental trope by which a national manhood is to be achieved-a post-immigrant salvation that is figuratively and literally articulated. Opis:
The Internet, as a basic component of the computerisation process, facilitates the implementation of the political reforms of the Chinese government and the creation of the rule of law as part of this process. Information technologies related to the above-mentioned reforms are characterised by separate elements and technical features. With regard to building the rule of law, it should be analysed from a material and formal point of view. As a tool for creating a system of the rule of law, it can be seen from three perspectives: as a tool for carrying out tasks, a means of supervision and a driving force. When understood as content, they provide information services in the process of building a system of the rule of law, in other words – they provide information to the system, moreover, they ensure the security of information contained therein and the protection of this data. Currently, information technologies, both in formal and material terms, are a huge challenge for the construction of the rule of law in China and, in the future, they should be used in both aspects at the same time.   Artykuł z języka chińskiego przetłumaczyła na język polski Agnieszka Makijewska. In this paper, we study a series of fourth-order strain wave equations involving dissipative structure, which appears in elasto-plastic-microstructure models. By some differential inequalities, we derive the finite time blow up results and the estimates of the upper bound blowup time with arbitrary positive initial energy. We also discuss the influence mechanism of the linear weak damping and strong damping on blowup time, respectively.

Resurs kół pociągu może być znacząco różny w zależności od ich miejsca zamontowania, warunków pracy, charakterystyk związanych z reprofilacją, itp. W artykule, porównano koła dwóch wybranych lokomotyw kursujących na Linii Rud Żelaza w północnej Szwecji, aby zbadać niektóre ze wspomnianych różnic. Zaproponowano możliwość łączenia danych pochodzących z oceny niezawodności z danymi degradacyjnymi oraz danymi z reprofilacji. Przeprowadzone badania pozwalają wyciągnąć następujące wnioski. Po pierwsze, krzywa wykładnicza degradacji oraz zadane warunki pracy można wykorzystać w celu przeprowadzenia badań niezawodności z użyciem modelu Weibulla z efektami losowymi (tzw. "frailty model"); po drugie, główną przyczyną zlecania reprofilacji kół jest zmęczenie toczne (RCF); po trzecie, analiza parametrów reprofilacji pozwala na monitorowanie i badanie zarówno szybkości zużycia kół, jak i ubytku materiału podczas reprofilacji, co może mieć zastosowanie w optymalizacji czynności obsługowych.
The service life of railway wheels can differ significantly depending on their installed position, operating conditions, re-profiling characteristics, etc. This paper compares the wheels on two selected locomotives on the Iron Ore Line in northern Sweden to explore some of these differences. It proposes integrating reliability assessment data with both degradation data and re-profiling performance data. The following conclusions are drawn. First, by considering an exponential degradation path and given operation condition, the Weibull frailty model can be used to undertake reliability studies; second, among re-profiling work orders, rolling contact fatigue (RCF) is the principal reason; and third, by analysing re-profiling parameters, both the wear rate and the re-profiling loss can be monitored and investigated, a finding which could be applied in optimisation of maintenance activities.

Experiments aiming at the muck improvement for Chengdu’s subway shield tunneling in water-rich sandy cobble ground initially finds out the kinds and ratio of muck improver suitable for the this strata, and through the field application determines the reasonable ratio of muck improver for shield tunneling in sandy cobble ground, providing a reference to other muck improvement for shied tunneling in similar ground. And the earth pressure balanced shield is widely used in tunnel engineering, with its characteristics as wide adaptability, safe operation, fast driving speed, low environmental noise and low cost. Taking Chengdu Metro Line as the background, aiming at the difficulty faced by EPB shield tunneling in water-rich sandy cobble ground, and based on the explorations and researches of the predecessors and scholars, engineering and technical personnel, the present paper combines with engineering examples to make a systematic summary and research on key construction technology of EPB shield tunneling through sandy cobble ground from the aspects of EPB shield adaptability, , structure and transformation of cutter and helical unearthed wares, settlement control method, and muck improvement measures. It has certain reference value and guiding significance to the selection of shield machine and the reconstruction of shield machine in complex geological condition.

Ukazują one bowiem widoczny wkład danej pracy naukowej w rozwój nauki i badań. Public Library of Science (PLOS), platforma projektu typu non profit oferująca dostęp do czasopism naukowych na zasadzie licencji wolnej dokumentacji oraz wydawca publikacji typu open access, była jednym z pierwszych tego typu projektów, w którym wprowadzono możliwość analizy innowacyjnych metryk, tzw. article-level metrics (ALM), tj. badania wpływu publikacji naukowych na poziomie artykułu, a nie czasopisma, z uwzględnieniem zmian, jakie zaszły w komunikacji naukowej wraz z rozwojem sieci. Badania uzupełniane są danymi kontekstowymi świadczącymi o zakresie społecznej uwagi poświęcanej danej pracy naukowej, uzyskiwanymi w czasie rzeczywistym z naukowych portali społecznościowych lub z alternatywnych metryk, takich jak blogi naukowe, zakładki, media społecznościowe.
Citation counts and more recently usage statistics provide valuable information about the attention and research impact associated with scholarly publications. The open access publisher Public Library of Science (PLOS), a nonprofit publisher and advocacy organization founded to accelerate progress in science and medicine by leading a transformation in research communication, has pioneered the concept of article-level metrics, where these metrics are collected on a per article and not a per journal basis and are complemented by real-time data from the social web or altmetrics: blog posts, social bookmarks, social media and other.

With the rapid development of communication technology, the Train-centric Communication-based Train Control (TcCBTC) system adopting the train-train communication mode to reduce the transmission link of control information, will become the direction of urban rail transit field development. At present, TcCBTC system is in the stage of key technology research and prototype development. Uncertain behavior in the process of system operation may lead to operation accidents. Therefore, before the system is put into use, it must undergo strict testing and security verification to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the system. In the paper, the formal modeling and quantitative analysis of train tracking operation under moving block are carried out. Firstly, the structure of TcCBTC system and the train tracking interval control strategy under moving block conditions are analyzed. The subsystem involved in train tracking and the uncertain factors in system operation are determined. Then, based on the Stochastic Hybrid Automata (SHA), a network of SHA model of train dynamics model, communication components and on-board controller in the process of train tracking is established, which can formally describe the uncertain environment in the process of system operation. UPPAAL-SMC is used to simulate the change curve of train position and speed during tracking, it is verified that the model meets the safety requirements in static environment. Finally, taking Statistical Model Checking (SMC) as the basis of safety analysis, the probability of train collision in uncertain environment is calculated. The results show that after accurately modeling the train tracking operation control mechanism through network of SHA, the SMC method can accurately calculate the probability of train rearend collision, which proves that the method has strong feasibility and effectiveness. Formal modeling and analysis of safety-critical system is very important, which enables designers to grasp the hidden dangers of the system in the design stage and safety evaluation stage of train control system, and further provides theoretical reference for the subsequent TcCBTC system design and development, practical application and related specification improvement.

Communication-based Train Control (CBTC) system is a widely-used signaling system. There is an increasing demand for innovating the traditional ground-centric architecture. With the application of train-train communication, object control and other advanced techniques, Train-centric CBTC (TcCBTC) system is expected to be the most promising tendency of train control system. The safe tracking interval would be reduced as well as the life-cycle costs. Formal methods play an essential role in the development of safety-critical systems, which provides an early integration of the verifiable design process. In the paper, the architecture design of TcCBTC is first analyzed. The official system specification of TcCBTC has not issued, so it takes efforts to perform the systematic summarization of the functional requirements. Secondly, we propose an integrated framework that combines the Colored Petri Net (CPN) models with the functional safety verification of the underlying systems. Functional safety depends on the logic accuracy and is a part of overall safety. The framework also specifies what kinds of functions, behaviors or properties need to be verified. The train control procedure of TcCBTC is regarded as the link among new functional modules, thus it is chosen as the modelling content. Thirdly, the scenarios and the color sets are prepared. Models are established with the novel design thought from top to bottom. Simulation and testing are implemented during the model establishment to discover the apparent errors. Lastly, the model checking by state space is performed. All possible states are checked in detail. Standard behavioral properties and other user-defined properties are verified by state space report and ASK-CTL (Computation Tree Logic) queries, respectively. Verification results reveal that the models are reasonable to depict the dynamic behaviors of train control procedure. The functional safety properties are satisfied and prepared for further drafting the system functional specification.

With the increasing scope of traffic signal control, in order to improve the stability and flexibility of the traffic control system, it is necessary to rationally divide the road network according to the structure of the road network and the characteristics of traffic flow. However, road network partition can be regarded as a clustering process of the division of road segments with similar attributes, and thus, the clustering algorithm can be used to divide the sub-areas of road network, but when Kmeans clustering algorithm is used in road network partitioning, it is easy to fall into the local optimal solution. Therefore, we proposed a road network partitioning method based on the Canopy-Kmeans clustering algorithm based on the real-time data collected from the central longitude and latitude of a road segment, average speed of a road segment, and average density of a road segment. Moreover, a vehicle network simulation platform based on Vissim simulation software is constructed by taking the real-time collected data of central longitude and latitude, average speed and average density of road segments as sample data. Kmeans and Canopy-Kmeans algorithms are used to partition the platform road network. Finally, the quantitative evaluation method of road network partition based on macroscopic fundamental diagram is used to evaluate the results of road network partition, so as to determine the optimal road network partition algorithm. Results show that these two algorithms have divided the road network into four sub-areas, but the sections contained in each sub-area are slightly different. Determining the optimal algorithm on the surface is impossible. However, Canopy-Kmeans clustering algorithm is superior to Kmeans clustering algorithm based on the quantitative evaluation index (e.g. the sum of squares for error and the R-Square) of the results of the subareas. Canopy-Kmeans clustering algorithm can effectively partition the road network, thereby laying a foundation for the subsequent road network boundary control.

The feedback control based on the model and method of iterative learning control, which in turn is based on the macroscopic fundamental diagram (MFD), mostly belongs to the classification of single-layer boundary control method. However, the feedback control method has the problem of time delay. Therefore, a feed forward feedback iterative learning control (FFILC) method based on MFD of the multi-layer boundary of single-area oversaturated intersections is proposed. The FFILC method can improve the effectiveness of boundary control and avoid the time-delay problem of feedback control. Firstly, MFD theory is used to determine the MFD of the control area; the congestion zone and the transition zone of the control area are identified; and the two-layer boundary of the control area is determined. Then, the FFILC controllers are established at the two-layer boundary of the control area. When the control area enters into a congestion state, the control ratio of traffic flow in and out of the two-layer boundary is adjusted. The cumulative number of vehicles in the control area continues to approach the optimal cumulative number of vehicles, and it maintains high traffic efficiency with high flow rates. Finally, The actual road network is taken as the experimental area, and the road network simulation platform is built. The controller of the feedforward iterative learning control (FILC) is selected as the comparative controller and used to analyse the iterative effect of FFILC. Improvements in the use of traffic signal control indicators for the control area are analysed after the implementation of the FFILC method. Results show that the FFILC method considerably reduces the number of iterations, and it can effectively improve convergence speed and the use of traffic signal evaluation indicators for the control area.

Highway guardrail is a kind of important road traffic safety facility. When a vehicle is travelling on a highway, it can lose control because of accident. The guardrail can prevent the vehicle from rushing directly out of the road, so as to reduce the injury to the driver in the vehicle. Therefore, the guiding performance, anti-collision performance and buffer performance of the guardrail are important indexes to reflect the highway guardrail safety in the traffic accidents between vehicle and guardrail. The process of collisions between vehicles and guardrails is a complex motion, affected by multiple factors such as the movement patterns and types of vehicles, the types of guardrail, the bending stiffness of the beams, the speed of collision, the angle of collision, etc. The accuracy of energy estimation when vehicle collides with guardrail is the foundation of highway guardrail design, installation and improvement. Many experts and scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of theoretical research and experimental verifications on the safety performance of highway guardrail, and analyzed the anti-collision ability and energy absorption effect of highway guardrail. Single degree of freedom model is the most widely used mathematical model of vehicle collision in highway guardrail. The traditional model is more suitable for calculating the maximum impact force of small vehicles, but it is not accurate for large vehicles. However, due to the unreasonableness of the model in the theoretical derivation process, there is a large error in the mathematical model, especially in estimating the accuracy of the energy value of the large vehicle collision guardrail. Practice shows that the current guardrail cannot withstand the impact of large vehicles. Once large vehicles collide with the corrugated beam guardrail, the guardrail will collapse in most cases, and the vehicle will rush out of the road directly, so it is very difficult to exert the protective function of the guardrail. The anti-collision performance of guardrail is poor, which is related to the existing calculation model, which results in insufficient strength in the design of guardrail.

So far Wei-Yun Lin-Górecka has translated Schulz’s Cinammon Shops, been published under the title Street of Crocodiles by Unitas Publishing Co., one of the leading publishing companies in Taiwan. Her translation of Sanatorium under the Sign of an Hourglass will be published in the fall of 2013.
