Opis:
In the present paper, we solve the non-linear Benjamin-Bona-Mahony, modified Camassa-Holm, and Degasperis-Procesi equations using an iterative method introduced by Daftardar-Gejji and Jafari. Results are compared with those obtained by other iterative methods such as the Adomian decomposition method and homotopy perturbation method. It is observed that the proposed method is computationally inexpensive and yields more accurate solutions than the Adomian decomposition method and the homotopy perturbation method.

A novice advanced architecture of 8-bit analog to digital converter is introduced and analyzed in this paper. The structure of proposed ADC is based on the sub-ranging ADC architecture in which a 4-bit resolution flash-ADC is utilized. The proposed ADC architecture is designed by employing a comparator which is equipped with common mode current feedback and gain boosting technique (CMFD-GB) and a residue amplifier. The proposed 8 bits ADC structure can achieve the speed of 140 mega-samples per second. The proposed ADC architecture is designed at a resolution of 8 bits at 10 MHz sampling frequency. DNL and INL values of the proposed design are -0.94/1.22 and -1.19/1.19 respectively. The ADC design dissipates a power of 1.24 mW with the conversion speed of 0.98 ns. The magnitude of SFDR and SNR from the simulations at Nyquist input is 39.77 and 35.62 decibel respectively. Simulations are performed on a SPICE based tool in 90 nm CMOS technology. The comparison shows better performance for this proposed ADC design in comparison to other ADC architectures regarding speed, resolution and power consumption.

Opis:
In this paper, an unsteady 2-D incompressible fluid flow with heat and mass transfer in a four-sided lid driven square cavity is investigated numerically. The top, bottom, left, and right walls of the square cavity move to the right, left, downward and upward respectively. All four sides of the cavity move with a uniform velocity. The flow variables are simulated below the critical Reynolds numbers with isothermal and mass-transfer conditions in the square cavity. We have used a streamfunction-vorticity (ψ - ξ) formulation to investigate the fluid flow in terms of flow variables ψ, ξ, T and C at low Reynolds numbers (Re). The Prandtl number (Pr) and Schmidt number (Sc) have been chosen as 6:62 and 10, 50, 100, 150 respectively, in order to calculate the numerical solutions of T and C. The matrix method has been used to evaluate the stability and convergence of the numerical scheme. The conditions obtained from the matrix method have been used to arrive at the numerical solutions with desired accuracy.

In this study, silicon carbide (SiC) reinforced lead-free solder (SAC305) was prepared by the powder metallurgy method. In this method SAC305 powder and SiC powder were milled, compressed and sintered to prepare composite solder. The composite solders were characterized by optical and scanning electron microscopy for the microstructural investigation and mechanical test. Addition of 1.5 wt.% and 2 wt.% ceramic reinforcement to the composite increased compressive strengths and microhardness up to 38% and 68% compared to those of the monolithic sample. In addition, the ceramic particles caused an up to 55% decrease in the wetting angle between the substrate and the composite solder and porosity was always increased with increase of SiC particles.

Opis:
Solar air heater is regarded as the most common and popular solar thermal system and has a wide range of applications, from residential to industrial. Solar air heater is not viable because of the low convective heat transfer coefficient at the absorber plate which contributes to decreasing the thermal efficiency. Artificial coarseness on the plain surface is the most effective method to enhance heat transfer with a moderate rate of friction factor of flowing air in the design of solar air heater duct. The different parameters and different artificial coarseness are responsible to alter the flow structure and heat transfer rate. Over the years different artificial roughness and how its geometry affects the performance of solar air heater have been thoroughly studied. Various investigators report the correlations between heat transfer and friction factors. In the present study, a comparison of several artificial coarseness geometries and methods with a view to enhancing the performance of solar air heater has been made. A brief outline has also been presented for future research.

A numerical computation-based analysis of the free vibration analysis of uniform beams with rectangular cross-sections is presented in this work using finite element analysis. The approach involves dividing the beam into segments at the crack section, which is then modelled for simulation for eigenfrequencies on the ABAQUS platform. The numerical simulation results are in excellent agreement with the findings of previous research, confirming the efficacy and applicability of the developed beam model. A sequential comprehensive approach towards analysis of the effects of the position and depth of the cracks on the natural frequencies are addressed in numerical results. The research findings confirm that the simulation model is suitable for the vibration analysis of beams or beam-like elements with different cross-sections.

Opis:
Coal ash produced from thermal power plants as a substitute for conventional construction material has increased considerably in recent years. In the past, studies on partial replacement of soil were carried out with a single type of ash. Because of the insufficient evidence, limited research has been initiated on the productive usage of Fly and Bottom Ashes. This paper aims to study the properties of these materials and investigate their efficacy in road construction. Laboratory investigations were conducted to assess chemical and physical properties and mechanical performance to evaluate both ash types in pavement construction. The rutting factor is calculated for various combinations of coal ash materials with the addition of polypropylene fiber as a reinforcement in increments of 0.1% of its total weight with an aspect ratio of 200. The analytical tool ANSYS is used to validate the service life, vertical strain and quality of reinforced ash materials.
Niniejsze opracowanie zostało poświęcone zastosowaniu podczas budowy dróg materiałów wzmocnionych popiołem jako zamienników pierwotnych surowców. Introduction: Spontaneous Cholecystocutaneous Fistula occurs as a result of complication from untreated gall bladder stone disease infrequently seen in surgical practice due to early diagnosis of gall stone disease with imaging and appropriate and prompt antibiotic and surgical treatment. Case report: We report our experience with a 40-year-old woman who presented with a yellowish discharge from the umbilicus. Abdominal examination revealed a sinus opening at the umbilicus with the yellowish discharge and a vague mass in the right hypochondrium. CT fistulogram showed tract extending form the umbilicus to the gall bladder. Open cholecystectomy with excision of the fistulous tract was carried out. Histopathological examination showed chronic inflammation of the gall bladder with the fistulous tract lined by inflammatory granulation tissue. Post-operative recovery was normal and uneventful. The patient was normal in follow-up. Cholecystocutaneous fistula is a rare clinical entity. The diagnosis is established with CT and MRCP. Surgery remains the mainstay of treatment.

The present study reports on the methods of preparation for HTPB-clay nanocomposites and their mechanical, thermal and rheological properties for their functional utility as an improved binder system for composite propellants. HTPB-clay nanocomposites were prepared by dispersing organoclay Cloisite 30B (1-3 wt.%) in the polymer matrix by magnetic stirring and high shear mixing. Critical parameters like time, temperature and RPM were optimized. These nanocomposites were cured with toluene diisocyanate in the presence of the cure catalyst DBTDL. The dispersion of the nanoclay was evaluated by using small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy. EDX suggested homogeneous distribution while SAXS revealed partial exfoliation of the clay particles in the polymer matrix. Superior dispersion of the nanoclay was obtained by high shear mixing. The tensile properties of the nanocomposites prepared by high shear mixing showed 10-20% more strength and elastic modulus. The nanocomposites showed thermal stability higher than the pristine HTPB. Swelling behavior revealed increased cross linking, and the rheological behavior exhibited higher viscosity of the nanocomposites. In addition, the clay amount was increased up to 10 wt.% and its effect on the mechanical, thermal and swelling behavior was observed. Theoretical performance predictions of composite propellants with nanocomposites revealed their possible functional utility.

The South-Western highlands of Ethiopia are considered to be the centre of origin and diversity of the arabica coffee, Coffea arabica. More than 80 accessions of arabica coffee collected from Ethiopia are avail-able in Indian gene bank. However, the genetic diversity of these accessions is not studied in detail. In the present study, genetic diversity analysis of 48 accessions collected from eight provinces of Ethiopia was car-ried out using Sequence-related amplified Polymorphism (SRAP) marker. Among the thirty two SRAP primer combinations tested, 14 primer pairs were polymorphic and generated 203 distinct fragments. The number of fragments ranged from 7 to 21 with a mean of 14.5 fragments per primer combination. Of the total 203 ampli-fied fragments, 182 (89.65%) were polymorphic and the percent of polymorphism ranged from 53.84% to a maximum of 100% using different primers. The average resolving power (Rp) and average polymorphism information content (PIC) of the 14 SRAP primer combinations was 14.31 and 0.648 respectively. A total of 13 rare alleles were obtained from SRAP assays, of which six rare alleles were obtained from the accessions collected from Shoa province. The UPGMA clustering algorithm from SRAP analysis grouped the 48 coffee accessions into two major clusters. The accessions collected from particular province clustered together which could be attributed to the substantial gene flow between adjacent population and the influence of geographical origin on genetic diver-sity. The study demonstrated the existence of substantial genetic variation in Ethiopian germplasm which could be utilized in coffee germplasm conservation and improvement program.
