The article presents the usage of electrical resistivity imaging (ERI) in ground recognition for linear constructions such as the Warsaw Southern Ring-Road. Measurements were performed in a gradient array, on five segments of the route, with previously researched geological conditions. Measurement method intended to probe the soil matrix on different depths. Therefore, the electrode array was set to 2 to 5 meters. The resulting image of resistivity differed in resolution. Resistivity images were correlated with geological data from boreholes in geology-engineering documentation and other widely available geological information from databases and literature. This allowed to limit ambiguity of interpretation of two-dimensional model of near surface soil matrix resistivity. Thereby, individual ranges of resistivity were assigned to geological content. The measurements allowed to identify geological horizontal variability. Electrical resistivity imaging research confirmed its utility in the recognition of spatial distribution of geological media in foundation soil. The analysis of completed surveys allowed to designate the following areas: locations where anthropogenic and organic soils occur, probable location of the edge of the upland on the eastern side of Vistula River and upper relief of local Neogene clays.

Szczegółowo omówiono obecnie najbardziej użyteczne metody identyfikacji błędów, zwłaszcza geometrycznych. Dokonano klasyfikacji oraz porównania metod i narzędzi pomiarowych z uwzględnieniem ich ogólności, czasochłonności, kosztu, dostępności na rynku i głównych ograniczeń.
This paper shows the overall conditions and needs to increase the accuracy of machine tools. Types of machine tool errors, their causes, as well as ways to reduce and compensate them are presented. The most useful methods of identifying particular geometric errors are discussed in detail. The classification of methods and tools of measurement in terms of their generality, measuring time, cost, availability and main constraints are presented.

Opis:
The aim of the present work is to compare two methods of synthesis of nanocrystallline zinc oxide doped with iron oxide. The synthesis was carried out using microwave asssisted hydrothermal synthesis and traditional wet chemistry method followed by calcination. The phase composition of the samples was determined using X-ray diffraction measurements. Depending on the chemical composition of the samples, hexagonal ZnO, and/or cubic $ZnFe_{2}O_{4}$ were identified. The morphology of the received materials was characterized using scanning electron microscopy. Two different structures of agglomerates were observed: a hexagonal structure (corresponding to zinc oxide) and spherical (corresponding to spinel phase). The effect of the iron oxide concentration on specific surface area and density of the samples was determined.

This paper presents the factors and needs which make it necessary to increase the accuracy of machine tools. Types of machine tool errors, their causes and ways of identifying, measuring, reducing and compensating them are described. The most effective methods of identifying machine tool errors are discussed and classified. The measuring methods and tools are compared with regard to their range of application, time consumption, cost, market availability and main limitations.

Hereby paper shows the structure of mutually connected thermal interactions in a machine tool, a tool and a workpiece, which finally leave their traces on a machined workpiece in form of machining errors. Thermal interactions of a machine tool and the environment on own and workpiece errors were discussed. Thermal interaction cases were considered, connected with the varying environment and the main drive operation, as well as total influence of the varying environment, main drive and two drives of controllable axes. The interactions of the cutting process itself were discussed, assuming three basic mechanisms: thermal, physically-mechanical and tribological. On the example of turning it was proven that the character of changes in total influences between the tool and workpiece has the shape of a temperature curve.

This paper briefly describes the current requirements which machine tool ball screws must meet and indicates the need for the modelling and numerical simulation of the latter. The structure of a holistic ball screw model and ways of modelling the properties of the ball screw in a turning centre, including the moving heat sources on the guides and in the screw-nut joint, are presented. The results of computing the heating up and displacements of a preloaded screw and the screw without preload are reported. The modelled changes in motion resistance and in displacements are shown to be in agreement with the results of measuring the current drawn by the drive’s motor. It is also shown that the models represent well the real physical phenomena occurring in the ball screw during the execution of repeatable work cycles by the drive.

This article shows the aspects of precise modelling of precise High-speed Machining Centres for High-Speed Cutting (HSC) of parts used in the aerospace industry. The main focus was made on the thermal errors having a dominant influence on the precision of machining. Main assumptions for a hybrid thermal model of a centre thermal behaviour have been stated, taking into account the characteristics of heat sources. On the example of a 3-axis machining centre, measured runs of heating up and heat displacements have been shown, compared to these determined with the use of simulations of a behaviour in assumed working conditions. A special attention was drawn to the phenomena taking place in motorspindles, as well as to the displacements of a spindle face during high rotational speeds of spindles and step changes of rotational speeds. The significance and influence of the bearing preload and centrifugal forces on the spindle axial displacements was shown, which is decisive on the precision of part machining. Additionally, it was shown that the important component of a machining error is an error of spindle position identification by means of a linear encoder, resulting from the thermal deformation of a centre body, to which a quartz linear encoder is fixed.

Opis:
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coatings were manufactured using the pulsed electron beam deposition (PED) technique. The presence of a PTFE structure was confirmed by means of Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR). The surface morphology and roughness were characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM). A pressure increase leads to a decrease in the material transport from the target to the substrate. The water contact angle (WCA) and surface free energy (SFE) were examined. The hydrophobic properties were preserved after film deposition.
Cienkie powłoki z politetrafluoroetylenu (PTFE) wytwarzano metodą pulsacyjnej ablacji elektronowej (PED) z zastosowaniem zmiennego ciśnienia gazu roboczego. Techniką spektroskopii w podczerwieni z transformacją Fouriera (FT-IR) potwierdzono strukturę chemiczną osadzonej cienkiej warstwy. Za pomocą mikroskopii sił atomowych (AFM) oceniano morfologię i chropowatość otrzymanej powierzchni. Wyznaczono kąt zwilżania (WCA) i swobodną energię powierzchniową (SFE) powłok z PTFE. Stwierdzono, że zachowują one hydrofobowe właściwości politetrafluoroetylenu. Zwiększenie wartości zastosowanego w procesie ciśnienia wpłynęło na zmniejszenie grubości osadzanej warstwy PTFE w wyniku pogorszenia transportu materiału z targetu (tarczy) do podłoża.

Opis:
Arzelá [1] considered the weaker form of uniform convergence which is as good as uniform convergence of sequences of functions in respect to continuity of the limit of a sequence of continuous functions. Some generalization of such convergence can be found in [5]. Similar kinds of convergence of function sequences were considered in [3] and [4]. In our article we generalize those kinds of convergence for functions defined in a topological space with values in a topological space. In the article we use terminology which is explained in Engelking's monograph “General Topology” [2]. Among others, we use the notion of a star with respect to an open over. If X is a topological space and α is a cover of this space, then the star St(x, α) of a point x ϵ X with respect to the cover α is defined as the union of all the sets from α which contain the point x, i.e. [wzór].
