Opis:
Experimental investigations were performed to evaluate the focusing properties of the plasma focus for high-energy intense ion beams manipulating. Magnetic probes and optical spectroscopy were used for temporal and spatial plasma geometry investigations. Ion beam portrait was determined at the luminescence screen. In the experiments performed, the focusing coefficient was obtained as the ten times beam compression at the 30 cm length. By variations of the gas volume input, gun voltage, time delay, magnetic field value etc. the dependence of focused ion beam diameter upon various parameters of the plasma focus lens has been investigated. It was revealed that the main focusing effect was caused by the azimuthal magnetic field of the currents carried by the plasma.

The report describes some of the results obtained in an experimental study of the impact of a powerful plasma stream and a fast ion beam generated in a PF-1000 device on different materials perspective for the use in radiation loaded parts of pulsed plasma installations. Investigations were done during and after the interaction processes. It is shown that in case of irradiation of samples only by high power flux density plasma streams the effect of detachment still preserved. At the same time a low power flux density high-energy ion beam plays an important role in the process of saturation of the irradiated material by hydrogen.

In the article the function and the scale for the entropy evaluation of the current state of extremely high frequency (EHF-) sensors quality in the various technical systems which fits the requirements of universality and maximal independency from the human factor are offered. One may see such EHF-sensors for the analysis of the quick transformations of the biological liquids properties. It’s high lighted that the available methods of the determination of technical systems’ quality have essential flaws which consist in both subjectivism because the dominant role in the evaluation belongs to experts and legitimacy of providing them properties of universality which was proved by nobody. The scheme of EHF-sensor is analyzed for which one may create an analytical model. The problem of the fields’ determination at the working region of such sensor is discussed. The presented scheme is possible to use for the mathematical model and just for that part of the problem which is devoted to the transformation of the properties of the object. The results of calculation of components of electromagnetic field at the working space of EHF-sensor are discussed. One may estimate the sizes of this space. The offered function of the quality evaluation, the parameter of which is the quantity of own information of the explored sensor, provides the declared universality approach according to the principles of the information theory. The conformity to all requirements for the functions of the evaluation of the quality: continuity, monotonic and smoothness over the whole range of definition regardless of the probability distribution function, which is measured by the random value EHF-sensor was proved. The proposed scale of the entropy evaluation of the quality fits to standard settings of the diagnostic of the technical systems and has three sub ranges which determine the state of the EHF-sensors: good state, up state, and down state. Unlike the existing psychophysical scales the offered scale has dynamic range of the evaluation so the limits of the sub ranges will automatically change depending on the regulatory and technical requirements for the state of the explored EHF-sensor. Such approach provides adaptation of the scale to specific requirements which gives a chance to evaluate the qualitative state of the object more reliably. The results of modeling of the qualitative state of the sensor are given. The possible practical application of the offered function and scale is usage in the systems of monitoring and diagnostic for determination of the current qualitative state of the explored technical system, as well.

We report on design and fabrication of alternately-strained $ZnS_xSe_{1-x}$/CdSe short period superlattices with the effective band-gap 2.52, 2.58, and 2.61 eV and the total thickness ≈300 nm. Transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and photoluminescence measurements reveal negligibly small density of misfit dislocations in the superlattices. The investigation of carrier transport along the superlattice growth axis, performed by the photoluminescence measurements of a superlattice with one enlarged quantum well, confirms efficient Bloch-type transport at temperatures above ≈ 100 K. Such superlattices look promising for the applications as a material for the wide band-gap photoactive region of a multi-junction solar cell comprising both III-V and II-VI materials.

In this report we present a first series of tests of the lithium Capillary Porous System (CPS). We suppose that such a system can be used as a first wall in a thermonuclear reactor. The main goal of the presented work was to study the behavior of the lithium CPS in the condition simulating the influence of plasma in various operating regimes of the thermonuclear reactor. The tests were conducted in a Plasma Focus (PF) installation. The preliminary analysis of the received results confirms the high resistance of the lithium CPS to the pulse influence of plasma flows.

Opis:
Changes in the optical characteristics in synthetic sapphire specimens produced by microsecond pulse irradiation with a stream of hydrogen ions of energies ranging up to tens keV have been observed. Data on decrease in the optical reflection, measured within the wavelength range of 200 900 nm, are presented. This characterization is compared with the data received by optical and atomic force microscopy as well as by lattice structure analysis performed with X-rays. The measurements indicate that the changes of optical parameters are not a consequence of absorption increase and/or sapphire decomposition. They result from modifications of the morphology and structure of surface layer of the sapphire samples, induced by irradiation.

A review of results on the design and operation of the new efficient Dense Plasma Focus device PF-6 of medium size (transportable) having bank energy of ca. 7 kJ and possessing a long lifetime is presented. New data on the interaction of the pulsed fast ion beams and dense plasma streams generated at this apparatus with various materials are given. These results are compared with the analogous information received at the biggest facility PF-1000. It is shown that it is possible to have about the same power flux density (in the range of 105 109 W/cm2) in both devices however in different areas. Doses of soft X-rays produced by the device within the resists for the goals of microlithography and micromachining appear to be several times less that it is with the conventional X-ray tube. In biological application of this device, medium- and hard-energy X-rays are exploited in the field of radioenzymology. It was found that the necessary dose producing activation/inactivation of enzymes can be by several orders of magnitude lower if used at a high-power flux density in comparison with those received with isotope sources. In medicine, short-life isotope production for the goals of the positron emission tomography (medicine diagnostics) is possible by means of the fast ions generated within DPF. All these experiments are discussed in the framework of pulsed radiation physics and chemistry in its perfect sense thereto the criteria are formulated.

We discuss the side resonances of the optically detected magnetic resonance in a diamond crystal and propose a new approach to the calculation of the hyperfine interaction in a composed system consisting of a negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy NV- center and a nearby 13C nuclear spin. The energy levels, rule selection and radiative transitions are obtained by a new method. The base of this method is the use of a complete set of commuting operators and entangled spin states. An estimation of the carbon hyperfine splitting parameters in the diamond NV- center from side-resonance frequencies is obtained in the frame of this method.

W trakcie prowadzenia wierceń poszukiwawczych w górotworze o skomplikowanych warunkach geologicznych może dochodzić do katastrofalnych ucieczek płynów i konieczne staje się podjęcie środków zmierzających do ich likwidacji. W tej sytuacji palącym problemem jest opracowanie nowych technologii uszczelniania i receptur zaczynów. Do wykonywania prac uszczelniających mających na celu wyizolowanie stref zaproponowano nowy rosyjski polimer spęczający "Petrosorb". "Petrosorb" tworzy w szczelinach i pęknięciach skał związki chemiczne o określonych właściwościach izolujących, zależnych od ich zdolności do pozostania w pęknięciach. Do najważniejszych parametrów należą: -- wysoka zdolność obsorpcyjna polimerów; - duża zdolność cząstek początkowych do ekspansji w połączeniu z wodą lub wodną emulsją (pęczenie); - właściwości lepko-plastyczne układu uszczelniającego; -- tworzenie się związków chemicznych między grupami funkcjonalnymi polimerów i skały, umożliwiające wytworzenie przez żel oporu hydraulicznego dla przepływających płynów.
There are catastrophic absorption flushing-out liquids while drilling oil and gas prospecting wells in complex geological conditions. It is necessary to make operative decisions on their liquidation. In this connection the development of new plugging structures and technological receptions for carrying out isolating works is an actual problem. It is offered to use new Russian swelling polymer "Petrosorb" for isolation works carrying out. "Petrosorb" creates compositions in rocks cracks. These compositions have their isolating properties which depend on their ability to stay in cracks and interstices at the expense of: - high polymer absorbing ability; - the great volumetric expansion initial particles at the connection with water or water containing emulsion (swelling); - viscoelastic properties of plugging-back system; - chemical connections formations between functional groups of polymer and rock, so significant hydraulic resistance to current of a liquid through volume of the formed gel is created.

The construction of subway stations is inevitably accompanied by the formation of a large amount of waste that is extracted from the underground workings by rock. When the waste is transported, the air is polluted with the exhaust gases of the dump trucks, some of the waste can stay on the road surface, the use of dump trucks increases the load on the roadway, the disposal of waste at landfills harms the environment, and enterprises pay fees for the transportation as well as placement of the waste. The article deals with the waste from the construction of new stations in the Saint-Petersburg subway. In order to determine the possibility of using waste in the municipal economy, a comprehensive analysis of this waste was carried out, including determination of moisture content, acidity, total carbon content, as well as chemical and granulometric composition. On the basis of the study results, it was established that the waste in question belongs to the hazard class 5, which enables to use it as a component of the soil mixture. Afterwards, the hazard class 5 was confirmed by the method of bioassay based on the determination of water toxicity by changing the optical density of the Chlorella algae culture.

This paper shows the results of a theoretical study of profile high-speed grinding (PHSG) for forming tread wheel sets during repair instead of turning and mold-milling. Significant disadvantages of these methods are low capacity to adapt to the tool and inhomogeneous structure of the wheel material. This leads to understated treatment regimens and difficulties in recovering wheel sets with thermal and mechanical defects. This study carried out modeling and analysis of emerging cutting forces. Proposed algorithms describe the random occurrence of the components of the cutting forces in the restoration profile of wheel sets with an inhomogeneous structure of the material. To identify the statistical features of randomly generated structures fractal dimension and the method of random additions were used. The multifractal spectrum formed is decomposed into monofractals by wavelet transform. The proposed method allows you to create the preconditions for controlling the parameters of the treatment process.

The basic methods of resurfacing wheels are determined and analised. It’s shown that for raising resource of used wheels and decreasing requirements of railway transport for new wheels it’s reasonable to use methods of recovering not only geometric parameters of rim, but also its mechanical properties. It’s marked that use of infeed profile high-speed grinding (VPVSh) enables to intensify significantly process of mechanical treatment of wheel rim profile both when its resurfacing in service and when manufacturing new wheel.
Проанализированы основные методы восстановления колес. Показано, что для повышения ресурса использования колес и уменьшения потребностей железнодорожного транспорта в новых колесах разумно использовать методы восстановления не только геометрических параметров обода, но и его механических свойств. Отмечено, что использование врезного профильного высокоскоростного шлифования позволяет значительно улучшить процесс механической обработки профиля поверхности катания колеса при его эксплуатации и при изготовлении.

In this article, one of the most promising methods of increasing the operational characteristics of a vehicle gear by the use of cylindrical gear drives with arched teeth is presented. Despite a number of advantages, these gearings are not widely used due to design and manufacture complexity. Possible options of edge cutting machining of cylindrical gearwheel arched teeth are considered. The progressive process technology proposed by the authors combines the roughing by multi-purpose cutter head for bevel gear with circular tooth and finishing by cutter head with zero angle of cutting edge.
В статье представлен один из перспективных способов повышения эксплуатационных характеристик приводов транспортных средств за счет применения цилиндрических передач с арочными зубьями. Несмотря на целый ряд преимуществ, такие передачи не имеют широкого распространения это связано сосложностью их проектирования и изготовления. Рассмотрены возможные варианты лезвийной обработки арочных зубьев цилиндрических колес. Авторами предложен прогрессивный технологический процесс. Сочетающий черновую обработку универсальными резцовыми головками для обработки конических колес скруговым зубом и чистовую - резцовыми головками с нулевым углом профиля.
