The aim of this article is to present results of studies on the relationship between the evaluation of the quality of the information contained on a website of an insurer and its competitive position. The evaluation of the quality of the information on the websites of insurance companies was based on the scoring method using an original tool to assess the quality of the information on the Internet. Its structure is based on the model of the information quality proposed by Eppler and includes 16 statements concerning individual quality criteria. The assessment of the competitive position of insurers took into account their share in the market of personal and property insurances (measured by the share in gross written premium) and the scale of the impact on the market through their websites (measured by their popularity). The studies carried out and the analysis of their results did not confirm the existence of statistically significant correlation between the quality of the information contained on the websites of insurers and their share in the market. However, the hypothesis was verified that there is a statistically significant correlation between the quality of the information contained on the websites of insurers and their popularity.

This paper is concerned with the analysis of a model describing the vibrations of simply supported straight pipes conveying periodically pulsating fluid. The vibrations of the hydraulic system are described by a fourth-order partial differential equation, with the inclusion of geometrical non-linearities. Through the application of the Galerkin method, the non-linear problem is reduced to the solution of four ordinary differential equations. The influence of several significant parameters of the model on the rms value of velocity is investigated. The possibility of exciting sub-harmonic and chaotic excitations at certain intervals of excitation frequency and flow velocity is presented.
W pracy poddano analizie model opisujący drgania przegubowo podpartych prostoliniowych przewodów, spowodowane pulsacjami prędkości przepływającej cieczy. Ruch układu opisano równaniem różniczkowym cząstkowym czwartego rzędu, uwzględniającym nieliniowości geometryczne. Wykorzystując metodę Galerkina, zagadnienie rozwiązania równania różniczkowego cząstkowego sprowadzono do problemu analizy układu czterech równań różniczkowych zwyczajnych. Zbadano wpływ wybranych parametrów na wartość skuteczną prędkości drgań. Wykazano możliwość wzbudzania się w pewnych zakresach prędkości przepływu i częstości wymuszenia drgań podharmonicznych i chaotycznych.

W pracy poddano analizie model opisujący drgania podpartych przegubowo prostoliniowych przewodów, spowodowane zmianą prędkości przepływającej cieczy. Ruch układu opisano równaniem różniczkowym cząstkowym czwartego rzędu, uwzględniającym nieliniowości geometryczne. Wykorzystując metodę Galerkina zagadnienie rozwiązania równania różniczkowego cząstkowego sprowadzono do problemu analizy układu trzech równań różniczkowych zwyczajnych. This study summarises and compares the measurement results of acoustical properties of an auditorium located on the campus of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Cracow University of Technology. The auditorium was thoroughly modernised and its acoustic features adapted. Measurements of the room acoustics were first taken prior to the modernisation program and were repeated after completion of the modernisation works. Evaluation of auditorium acoustics was based on the following parameters: reverberation time, early/late energy ratio (clarity) $C_{50}$, early decay time, speech intelligibility indices, and uniformity of sound distribution. The effect of the modernisation program on levels of those parameters are explored and conformity to the design objectives is analysed.

Opis:
The paper discusses the model of transverse vibrations of a pipe induced by flow velocity pulsation. The motion is described by a system of two non-linear partial differential equations with periodically variable coefficients. The analysis uses the Galerkin method with orthogonal polynomials as the shape functions. The instability regions are determined by Floquet’s method. The influence of selected parameters on natural frequencies and on the character and level of vibrations is studied. The possibility of the excitation of periodic and quasi-periodic oscillations is demonstrated. The results of theoretical analysis are compared with the experimental data.

Opis:
The introduction of lead-free technology into electronics has intensified concern over tin whiskers phenomenon. Tin whiskers are crystals growing from the alloy surface as the result of compressive stress relaxation. This paper presents the dependence of tin whisker growth on copper and oxygen surface content. The observations and measurements were done using scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The results show that whisker growth is strongly related to increased copper and oxygen surface content in whisker neighborhood.

Opis:
Cathodoluminescence and photoluminescence measurements are commonly accepted as revealing local properties of a specimen region excited by a beam of electrons or photons. However, in the presence of a strong electric field (e.g. a junction) an electron (or light/laser) beam-induced current is generated, which spreads over the structure. A secondary non-local electroluminescence, generated by this current and detected together with the expected luminescence signal, may strongly distort measurement results. This was confirmed by cathodoluminescence measurements on test structures prepared by focused ion beam on AlGaAs/GaAs/InGaAs laser heterostructures. Methods for minimizing the distortion of measured luminescence signals are presented.

Opis:
The dependence of defect detection by cathodoluminescence in a scanning electron microscope on the electron beam current is considered. The examined specimens are AlGaAs/GaAs laser heterostructures with InGaAs quantum well. It is shown that for low electron beam currents, which are typically used, the uniform cathodoluminescence is observed, while for the increasing high electron beam current the oval defects become more and more visible. The influence of electrical properties of the structure on the luminescence detection is explained.

Opis:
The capabilities and applications of the focused ion beam (FIB) technology for detection of an electrochemical signal in nanoscale area are shown. The FIB system, enabling continuous micro- and nanofabrication within only one equipment unit, was used to produce a prototype of electrochemical nanometer-sized electrode for sensor application. Voltammetric study of electrochemically active compound (ferrocenemethanol) revealed the diffusion limiting current (12 pA), corresponding to a disc (planar) nanoelectrode with about 70 nm diameter of contact area. This size is in a good accordance with the designed contact-area (50 nm × 100 nm for width × thickness) of the FIB-produced nanoelectrode. It confi rms that produced nanoelectrode is working properly in liquid solution and may enable correct measurements in nanometer-sized regions.

This work presents a terahertz system designed for the reflection spectroscopy of different materials located at a distance up to 5 m. The source of the radiation is a tunable solid-state optical parametric oscillator, which generates a narrow-band nanosecond pulses in the range of 0.7-2.5 THz. The signal is detected with relatively fast and having big sensitivity hot electron bolometer. The detailed description of each device and the functioning of the experimental setup are provided as well as the methodology of the measurement is explained. Investigations were performed in the 0.7-2.2 THz range in free space with relative humidity of about 40%. The experiment was divided into three series, each of which was carried out with different distance between the examined sample and the system - 1 m, 3 m, and 5 m. Obtained spectra of selected materials, including explosives, are similar to the results received from a purged time domain spectroscopy system. The observed small deviations are connected with fluctuations of the laser wavelength and the instability of the bolometer.

Opis:
Tin-rich solders are widely applied in the electronic industry in the majority of modern printed circuit boards (PCBs). Because the use of lead-tin solders has been banned in the European Union since 2006, the problem of the bridging of adjacent conductors due to tin whisker growth (limited before by the addition of Pb) has been reborn. In this study tin alloys soldered on glass-epoxy laminate (typically used for PCBs) are considered. Scanning ion microscopy with Focused Ion Beam (FIB) system and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) were used to determine correlations between spatial non-uniformities of the glass-epoxy laminate, the distribution of intermetallic compounds and whisker growth.
Bezołowiowe stopy lutownicze o wysokiej zawartości cyny są szeroko stosowane w przemyśle elektronicznym we współczesnych obwodach drukowanych (PCB). Stosowanie ołowiu w tych stopach jest od 2006 roku zakazane w Unii Europejskiej, co odnowiło problem wzrostu wiskerów cynowych poprzednio ograniczonego dodatkiem Pb. Wiskery zagrażają niezawodności układów elektronicznych, m.in. z powodu wprowadzanych zwarć. Praca dotyczy wzrostu wiskerów na powierzchni lutów naniesionych na najczęściej stosowany laminat szklano-epoksydowy. W oparciu o wyniki skaningowej mikroskopii jonowej (wykorzystujacej zogniskowana wiązkę jonów) i spektroskopii dyspersji energii promieniowania rentgenowskiego określono związek pomiędzy przestrzennymi niejednorodnościami laminatu szklano-epoksydowego, rozkładu wytrąceń międzymetalicznych i wzrostu wiskerów.

The studies aimed at determining low activities of alpha radioactive elements are widely recognized as essential for the human health, because of their high radiotoxicity in case of internal contamination. Some groups of workers of nuclear facility at Otwock are potentially exposed to contamination with plutonium isotopes. For this reason, the method for determination of plutonium isotopes has been introduced and validated in Radiation Protection Measurements Laboratory (LPD) of the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ). In this method the plutonium is isolated from a sample by coprecipitation with phosphates and separated on a AG 1-X2 Resin. After electrodeposition, the sample is measured by alpha spectrometry. Validation was performed in order to assess parameters such as: selectivity, accuracy (trueness and precision) and linearity of the method. The results of plutonium determination in urine samples of persons potentially exposed to internal contamination are presented in this work.

This paper presents an optical system for transmission spectral measurements in the terahertz range. The source of radiation is a tunable solid-state laser, which generates a narrow-band nanosecond pulses in the range 0.67-2.68 THz and based on optical parametric oscillator phenomenon. The signal is detected with a fast and sensitive hot electron bolometer. Principle of generation and detection of pulses as well as methodology of measuring spectral characteristics are presented. We compared the results obtained with the free-space setup, which is based on the optical parametric oscillator and hot electron bolometer, with a purged time domain spectroscopy system in the range of 0.7-2.2 THz.

Przedstawiono wyniki oznaczania zawartości ołowiu, kadmu, rtęci i chromu w materiałach opakowaniowych wykonanych z polietylenu (elementy skrzynek na napoje) w kontekście obowiązujących przepisów dotyczących gospodarki opakowaniami i odpadami opakowaniowymi. Zaproponowano procedurę analityczną obejmującą mikrofalowe roztwarzanie próbek przy użyciu nowoczesnego mineralizatora UltraWAVE (Milestone) w połączeniu z techniką FAAS oraz badaniem za pomocą analizatora DMA-80 Direct Mercury Analyzer. Zastosowana metoda pozwala na szybkie i sprawne oznaczanie w polietylenie szkodliwych dla środowiska i zdrowia ludzi pierwiastków. Doboru odpowiednich warunków roztwarzania mikrofalowego dokonano na podstawie przeprowadzonej analizy składu pierwiastkowego badanych tworzyw metodą spektrometrii dyspersji energii promieniowania rentgenowskiego (SEM/EDS).
Results of lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium determination in packaging materials made of polyethylene (beverage box elements) with reference to the existing acts on packaging and packaging waste management has been presented. A microwave-assisted sample peparation analytical procedure for the determination of metals in polymers using a modern Milestone UltraWAVE digestion system combined with the FAAS technique and a Milestone DMA-80 Direct Mercury Analyzer has been proposed. The method is useful for the quick and efficient determination of hazardous metals in polyethylene. The selection of appropriate conditions for the microwave digestion process has been done on the basis of the results of an elemental composition analysis of polymers using the Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (SEM/EDS) method.

Opis:
The transmission electron microscopy characterization of various silicon and silicide fin structures intended for application in FinFET devices has been performed. The results showed that transmission electron microscopy is a very useful tool for optimization of manufacturing processes of fin nanostructures in FinFETs.

Praca obejmuje analizę wykorzystania metod analityki środowiskowej na przykładzie oznaczeń chromatograficznych. Opisano techniki analityczne oparte zarówno o metody spektroskopowe, elektrochemiczne jak i o techniki rozdzielania skomplikowanych mieszanin - w szczególności techniki chromatograficzne. W krajach uprzemysłowionych chromatografia od początku swego istnienia znalazła znaczące miejsce w analityce chemicznej. W Polsce szybki wzrost zainteresowania metodą chromatograficzną obserwuje się od kilku lat, czego dowodem może być znacząca liczba laboratoriów badawczych i usługowych, w których wykorzystuje się chromatografię jonową.
The article presents the analysis of utilizing method analytical chemistry for example determination chromatography. There are described the analytic techniques based on both spectroscopic and electrochemical method like separation of complicated mixtures - especially chromatographic techniques. In industrial countries chromatography has been applied from its beginning. In Poland a quick increase of interest in chromatographic method has been observed for several years which can be proved by a large number of scientific and commercial laboratories which apply the ionic chromatography.
