Opis:
This paper describes the study of ventilated car disc brakes stress-strain conditions and friction under the pressure using the ANSYS environment. Such influencing factors are taken into account in the course of research as angular speed value, the pressure of the pads on the disk, the nature of the load application, convection, thermal expansion, etc. Computer modelling of the stress field and the transient thermal field in the area of contact between the pads and the disk is provided by the method of sequential thermostructural communication of the intermediate states of the brake model directly in the ANSYS Coupled Field Transient environment. Besides, the ANSYS calculations were also performed based on the primitive assembly model of two steel blocks (the discrepancy was less than 3%) to determine the identity of the theoretical knowledge about the heating of bodies as a result of the work to overcome frictional forces. Finally, a high level of calculation results convergence by analytical formulas and computer modelling was established. Since this approach justified itself, its principles were taken as a basis in the calculations of ventilated disc brakes of cars, which significantly facilitates their application, knowing the area of the active part of the disc (the rest of the boundary conditions are typical and correspond to the normal operating modes of the vehicle).

Opis:
Purpose: Develop a method for determining and evaluating the stress-strain state, in particular the distribution of thermomechanical stresses in the materials of individual rotating parts of vehicles. Design/methodology/approach: The proposed method is based on the principle of gradual approximations of the solution when the boundary conditions are satisfied on the curvilinear limiting surfaces of the disk body. Findings: The proposed method of determining and estimating the distribution of thermomechanical stresses in the disk material makes it possible to take into account the variable geometry: thickness and presence of a hole in the central part of the disk, also correctly determine stress strain state at any point of unevenly heated rotating axial body. Research limitations/implications: The work uses generally accepted assumptions and limitations for thermomechanical calculations. Originality/value: It is proved that in real disks the stress-strain state is spatial, and the well-known method based on the hypotheses of the plane-stress state does not provide the possibility of calculating the values of stresses in the thickness of the disk. The obtained results can be used as a basis for improving the methodology of auto technical examination of road accidents. In addition, they can be taken into account by design engineers of car brake systems.

Opis:
Purpose: Approximately 5% of the adult population has one or more cerebral aneurysm. Aneurysms are one of the most dangerous cerebral vascular pathologies. Aneurysm rupture leads to a subarachnoid hemorrhage with a very high mortality rate of 45–50%. Despite the high importance of this disease there are no criteria for assessing the probability of aneurysm rupture. Moreover, mechanisms of aneurysm development and rupture are not fully understood until now. Methods: Biomechanical and numerical computer simulations allow us to estimate the behavior of vessels in normal state and under pathological conditions as well as to make a prediction of their postoperative state. Biomechanical studies may help clinicians to find and investigate mechanical factors which are responsible for the initiation, growth and rupture of the cerebral aneurysms. Results: In this work, biomechanical and numerical modeling of healthy and pathological cerebral arteries was conducted. Patient-specific models of the basilar and posterior cerebral arteries and patient-specific boundary conditions at the inlet were used in numerical simulations. A comparative analysis of the three vascular wall models (rigid, perfectly elastic, hyperelastic) was performed. Blood flow and stress-strain state of the two posterior cerebral artery aneurysm models was compared. Conclusions: Numerical simulations revealed that hyperelastic material most adequately and realistically describes the behavior of the cerebral vascular walls. The size and shape of the aneurysm have a significant impact on the blood flow through the affected vessel and on the effective stress distribution in the aneurysm dome. It was shown that large aneurysm is more likely to rupture than small aneurysm.

The paper contains comparing calculations of the stress fields in an elastic plate with notch along the arc of a circle, ellipse or parabola obtained by analytic method based on complex Kolosov-Muskhelishvili potentials and by numerical variation-difference method. These fields differ by no more than 2%, which, in particular, indicates the reliability of such numerical implementation. This discrepancy can be explained by the fact that in the analytical solution domain is unbounded, while the numerical calculation was carried out, obviously, for a finite field. The given stresses at the top of the notch along the arc of an ellipse or a parabola significantly increase with increasing of the relative depth of the notch (while increasing its depth or decreasing width).

Opis:
The article explores the stress-strain state of the pneumatic flexible shaft coupling of the tumbling mill drive using a software of finite element analysis. The study has revealed that the stress-strain state of the pneumatic flexible shaft coupling is characterized by an uneven general and local distribution of stresses. Areas of maximum stress and strain in the pneumatic flexible shaft coupling have been defined. The study allowed for changing the geometry and reducing the mass of the disc of the pneumatic flexible shaft coupling with a slight change in stresses and strains. The results of the study can be applied to the design of pneumatic flexible shaft couplings and serve as a basis for further research.

Granular GaAs:(Mn,Ga)As films were prepared by annealing at 500°C under ambient and enhanced hydrostatic pressure (1.1 GPa), of $Ga_{1-x}Mn_xAs//GaAs$ layers (x = 0.025, 0.03, 0.04, 0.05 and 0.063) grown at 230°C by molecular beam epitaxy method. Distinct influence of enhanced hydrostatic pressure applied during sample annealing on strain state of inclusions was found. An increase of lattice distortion and of strain of inclusions for the samples treated under hydrostatic pressure is related to different bulk moduli of GaAs and of MnAs

The stress-strain state of reinforced concrete elements is rather complicated issue of scientific research, which integrates different factors, such as the load type, atmospheric conditions, various defects, damages, geometric deviations. It is commonly known that corrosion of reinforced concrete elements affects both the strength and deformation parameters of the structure significantly; thus, internal stresses` parameters are also influenced. Therefore, detailed theoretical investigation of this issue is the main goal of this article. The detailed literature review and thorough analysis was conducted concerning previous experimental and theoretical studies of the corrosion defects` influence on the reinforced concrete elements` stress-strain state. Existing data and results were systematized and analyzed. On the basis of provided research it could be concluded that the reinforced concrete elements` stressstrain state greatly depends on existing damages and impurities. The stress-strain state could be complicated on micro-scale due to material chemical and mechanical peculiarities; simultaneously on macro-scale the bearing capacity is of the structure could be reduced in general. In the articles existing methods for this issue simulation and evaluation are described and perspective fields for further research are identified. The practical significance of the article is due to complex approach to the research and multilateral identification of the main issue key points.

Opis:
Each structure is exposed to different influences during operation. As a result, there are various defects and damages of these elements that affect their safe operation. The article presents the results of experimental studies of reinforced concrete beams with damages to stretched reinforcement made with and without initial load application. As the damages were accepted one or five Ø5.6 mm holes. In one case, the damage was made until the beam destruction (up to the 8.4 mm opening) Control samples of both series were destroyed due to crushing of the compressed zone of concrete. Samples that were damaged without initial loading collapsed due to rupture of the stretched reinforcement. The same type of failure was identified for damages at the operational load level.

Most of the modern computer software for the building structures` calculation is based on mathematical dependencies which make it possible to analyse rather complex stress-strain state of structures subjected to loading. As a rule, the calculation is based on the finite element method and is reduced to the calculation of deformations arising in structures due to the action of external forces with the use of real strain diagrams of materials, σ-ε diagrams for concrete and reinforcement. Modern normative regulations for reinforced concrete structures` calculation are also based on the deformation model using material deformation diagrams, which are as close to the real ones, as possible. Therefore, this study was aimed to investigate in more detail the stress-strain state and the physical essence of the processes occurring in reinforced concrete structures with combined reinforcement according to mathematical approaches and regulations of DBN B.2.6-98:2009 and DSTU B. In 2.6-156:2010. Namely, in the research is analysed the combined reinforcement of S245 steel tapes and A1000 rebar, which is used in the production of reinforced concrete elements. The results of mathematical modelling were compared with the calculation results, according to DBN B.2.6-98: 2009 and DSTU B. B 2.6-156:2010, as well as with field experimental data. Therefore, the conclusion could be made, whether it is possible to use this technique with sufficient accuracy to calculate reinforced concrete structures with combined reinforcement.

Opis:
The paper deals with the working peculiarities of the support zones of reinforced concrete elements subject to bending with due account of the eccentric compression and tension. The authors performed simulation of the stress-strain behaviour of the indicated structures with the aid of “Lira” software which results are shown in the graphical and tabulated form. The performed simulation allowed of tracing the work of the studied sample beams till collapse. Such approach made it possible to single out and generalize the main collapse patterns of the inclined cross-sections of the reinforced concrete elements subject to bending on which basis the authors developed the improved method to calculate their strength (Karpiuk et al., 2019).

Research on the influence of geometric parameters of body bottom elements on the stress-strain state (SSS) of the truck with the general application of computer simulation methods was conducted. The nature of the change in static stress and displacement depending on the change in the proportions of the crosssection of the channel at fixed geometric dimensions of the workpiece and the thickness of the workpiece and the bottom material of the body has been studied. Analytical, numerical and experimental methods were used in the study of the stress-strain state of the metal structure of car bodies. Its weight minimization is an important aspect of a truck body design. Because an excess weight leads to increased production costs, reduced payload and reduced fuel efficiency. According to the concept of weight reduction with the provision of a given strength, the body model with variable parameters of the bottom elements is modelled and analyzed. CAD - body models and analysis of the stress-strain state of the channels of the bottom of the bodies have been performed using the software package SolidWorks.

Opis:
The development of oil fields at a late stage is characterized by a number of complications that determine the features of the operation of downhole equipment in pumping units. The use of electric-centered pumps in wells with intervals of increased curvature intensity requires a preliminary analysis of the possibility of lowering and operating the equipment at design depths. The aim of research is development of a new approach to evaluation the stress-strain state of pumping equipment, taking into account the features of the inclinometry of the intervals of its location. The analysis of the results of previous studies of the influence of the well profile on the operation of pumping equipment and recommendations for ensuring its performance is carried out. Given the possibility of operating equipment with limited levels of deformation, a mechanism is proposed for evaluation its stress-strain state using software products based on the finite element method. The reliability of the results is confirmed by comparison with those obtained in the course of analytical studies performed according to a previously tested methodology. Application of the proposed approach will allow to assess the level of deformation of individual elements of the equipment installations, taking into account their design features and the results of inclinometry.
