In this article, I describe how I teach graduate students who are in-service teachers in our master’s literacy program on how to facilitate inquiry-based learning among school children. This type of learning concentrates on students’ curiosity, asking questions, and investigating problems in collaboration. The teacher in such learning is more of a facilitator working towards helping children in becoming more independent learners. In my role as a teacher educator and coach I have used several resources to develop my own practice of teaching inquiry learning since 2015. I describe how I structure my graduate students’ tutoring for inquiry and how I teach the ways of utilizing literacy teaching strategies and routines, such as shared reading and accountable talk, in order to facilitate children’s knowledge building and their increasing independence in collaborative work. I also describe how my research interests that concentrate around investigating innovative inquiry-based learning spaces has informed this teaching.

The article presents a part of diagnostic and correlative research of quantitative and qualitative character, locating pupils’ information skills in the use of ICT in the context of new technology trends and the accompanying civilizational changes. The considered issues seek answers to the question on the sources of knowledge and skills acquired by pupils in the field of using new technologies. A diagnostic survey (questionnaire and interview) and statistical methods were used. 2,510 pupils were examined and it was established that: 1) numerous pupils’ indications, obtained through an open question, allowed for distinguishing as many as 14 categories of sources of information; 2) The pupils mainly locate the sources of ICT knowledge and skills in informal education (61.9%), by the same token diminishing the weight of organised, formal education and the influence of didactic institutions (38.1%); 3) the calculation of differentiating factors revealed statistically significant differences between the sources of ICT knowledge and skills in relation to gender, stage of learning, and place of learning.

Celem mojego artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, jakie dyskursy obecne są w wiedzy o młodzieży. Przegląd literatury prowadzi do wniosku, że wiedza ta budowana jest głównie w ramach dyskursu normatywnego na płaszczyźnie epistemologicznej, w którym funkcjonowanie społeczne jest wartościowane na postawie norm, a tym samym wyznaczonych powinności.
The aim of my article is to try to answer the question of what discourses are present in knowledge about young people. A review of the literature leads to the conclusion that this knowledge is built mainly within the normative discourse on the epistemological level, in which social functioning is evaluated on the basis of norms, and thus defined obligations.

Opis:
One of the most significant phases for automation of communication processes in shipping is building a knowledge base for inference processes. Communication processes include: exchange of information, perception of communication and interaction between navigators. Computing with words has been used to represent inference processes covering imprecise concepts that are characteristic of natural languages. Elements of classical predicate calculus were adopted as a basic form of writing inference rules. Methods for constructing a knowledge base were chosen. The knowledge base architecture was proposed. This article also presents examples of inference rules in a knowledge base for automatic communication in shipping.

Opis:
The paper focuses on technical aspects of creating a centralized expert knowledge base of vehicle repairs which is shared among its contributors. The proposed system is storing unstructured data gathered over the network from different sources such as workshops and authorized resellers. The novelty of the proposed system is to use a semantic web data store in form of OWL (Web Ontology Language) ontology in order to classify and explore the gathered data to significantly improve the process of resolution of challenging vehicle repair problems. Similar problems can be identified by using appropriate pattern recognition techniques and algorithms utilizing the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and its query language - SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language (SPARQL).

Author of the text is looking for the optimum way of communication with the students which motivates them to explore chemical issues and break the reluctance to the subject. As a tool that supports chemistry teaching wants to use the Internet. The research was of a cognitive nature and the method was a survey.The purpose of the article is to show:1) optimum way of communication chemistry teacher with the students of primary school which affecting the improvement of the student’s cognitive processes,2) students expectation about substantive content of the subject website and other technical facilities,3) opportunities to build knowledge through interactive media which are natural and attractive for the student in his digital world.

This paper presents the issues of place and attachment to place. The aim of the article is to determine the level of knowledge among the academic community of the university building in which they study or work and its surrounding area, in the context of place attachment. The cognitive component – one of many aspects of identifying with a place – was examined. With limited knowledge about the building in which the study population spends time, calculated in months or years, it is difficult to determine place attachment, identification, or experience. The research method applied was a diagnostic survey, a questionnaire consisting of questions designed by the author. Both students and academics were surveyed. The results showed that students have limited knowledge of the building where they attend classes. The university building appears to be more of an anonymous non-place, without deeper symbolic or social meanings, than a place with which the academic community identifies itself.

Celem niniejszego opracowania było wskazanie istoty i znaczenia organizacji opartych na wiedzy oraz wskazanie wpływu otoczenia technologicznego na proces budowania organizacji opartych na wiedzy. Analizę empiryczną przeprowadzono w gminie Myślenice. Do badań został wykorzystany wywiad oraz kwestionariusz z pięciostopniową skalą Likerta. Badania wykazały, że gmina Myślenice nie jest organizacją opartą na wiedzy. Nie są wykorzystywane w wystarczającym stopniu nowoczesne systemy ICT. W związku z powyższym zostały sformułowane zalecenia i rekomendacje dla analizowanej gminy.
The aim of this study is to identify the importance of organizations based on knowledge and influence of environment technology to the process of building knowledge-based organizations. The analysis has been carried out in Myślenice community. For conducting the study an interview and a questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale has been used. In summary, the research shows that Myslenice community is not an organization of knowledge. Modern ICT systems are not used sufficiently. In the view of the above recommendations have been formulated recommendations for municipalities Myślenice.

At the present time, with continuous market changes, customer satisfaction and meeting the needs of employees are the most important factors for building managerial systems and implementing of the strategy in many companies. The goal of this paper is to develop a multi-faced knowledge management-based strategy combining analytical and qualitative methods and processes for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that managers can use to achieve strategic performance goals in their organizations. Various methods with the currently used modern technologies and a developed organizational culture make up the knowledge management system as a method inspired by the leadership, focused primarily on customer satisfaction and meeting the needs of employees. A multi-faced approach for building knowledge management-based strategy in small and medium companies is developed. It is based on practical experience and a research literature background incorporating implemented technologies and tools in quality environment with the usage of knowledge management. This research depicts a proposal of knowledge management-based strategy as a response to the lack of studies that address the knowledge management in building strategy in SME. Furthermore, this approach enhances the existing literature, giving insight in the collection of current business models.

The article presents the developed IT solutions supporting the material and technological conversion process in terms of the possibility of using the casting technology of selected alloys to produce products previously manufactured with the use of other methods and materials. The solutions are based on artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistical methods. The prototype module of the information and decision-making system allows for a preliminary assessment of the feasibility of this type of procedure. Currently, the selection of the method of manufacturing a product is based on the knowledge and experience of the technologist and constructor. In the described approach, this process is supported by the proprietary module of the information and decision-making system, which, based on the accumulated knowledge, allows for an initial assessment of the feasibility of a selected element in a given technology. It allows taking into account a large number of intuitive factors, as well as recording expert knowledge with the use of formal languages. Additionally, the possibility of searching for and collecting data on innovative solutions, supplying the knowledge base, should be taken into account. The developed and applied models should allow for the effective use and representation of knowledge expressed in linguistic form. In this solution, it is important to use methods that support the selection of parameters for the production of casting. The type, number and characteristics of data have an impact on the effectiveness of solutions in terms of classification and prediction of data and the relationships detected.

W artykule wyjaśnia się pojęcie gospodarki opartej na wiedzy i rolę samorządu terytorialnego w procesie jej budowania. Przyjmuje się, że reorientacja gospodarki przebiega etapami, a regiony w trakcie rozwoju przechodzą od wzrostu surowco- i pracochłonnego przez kapitałochłonny do zaawansowanego technologicznie wzrostu opartego na wiedzy. Gospodarka oparta na wiedzy rozumiana jest jako powstała w wyniku tworzenia, przekazywania i wdrażania wiedzy. Wspieranie nowej gospodarki, w której kluczową rolę odgrywa wiedza, staje się ogromnym wyzwaniem dla samorządów, których celem jest osiągnięcie wysokiego poziomu rozwoju oraz konkurencyjności. Badaniem obejmuje się wybrane jednostki samorządu terytorialnego. Celami artykułu są wyjaśnienie pojęć związanych z samorządem terytorialnym i gospodarką opartą na wiedzy oraz identyfikacja działań jednostek samorządu terytorialnego w zakresie budowania gospodarki opartej na wiedzy. Analizie poddane zostaną przykłady działań jednostek samorządu terytorialnego sprzyjające tworzeniu się i rozprzestrzenianiu wiedzy.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę rozwoju nowego trendu ekonomicznego – „zielonej” gospodarki, który był m.in. tematem przewodnim w tym roku w kampaniach informacyjnych Międzynarodowej Organizacji Pracy ILO. Przedstawiono wybrane źródła informacji z zakresu tej tematyki, w tym – zamieszczone w ramach portalu ILO. Naświetlono wagę upowszechniania wśród „zielonych” pracowników informacji z zakresu występujących zagrożeń zawodowych i sposobów ich unikania, zapewniania bezpiecznych i zdrowych zielonych miejsc pracy. Podkreślono także rolę placówek informacji w upowszechnianiu informacji z zakresu zielonych gospodarki, wspierających pracę specjalistów ds. bhp.
In the article, the subject of the new economic trend, so-called "green" economy, has been shortly described. This subject was the main theme of this year's information campaigns of the International Labour Organization. The main sources of information on the green economy were presented, among others were those presented on the ILO website. The importance of promoting the information on occupational hazards and ways of avoiding them and assuring the safe and healthy work places was underlined among the "green" economy workers. The role of information institutions in the promotion of information on green economy, which supports the work of OSH specialists, are emphasized.
