The paper introduces application of selected methods of a game theory for automation of the processes of moving marine objects, the game control processes in marine navigation and the base mathematical model of game ship control. State equations, control and state constraints have been defined first and then control goal function in the form of payments – the integral payment and the final one. Multi-stage positional and multi-step matrix, non-cooperative and cooperative, game and optimal control algorithms in a collision situation has been presented. The considerations have been illustrated as an examples of a computer simulations mspg.12 and msmg.12 algorithms to determine a safe own ship’s trajectory in the process of passing ships encountered in Kattegat Strait.

The paper introduces the application of the theory of deterministic sensitivity control systems for sensitivity analysis taking place in game control systems of moving objects, such as ships. The sensitivity of parametric model of game ship control process and game control in collision situations - sensitivity to changes in its parameters have been presented. First-order and k-th order sensitivity functions of parametric model of the process and game control are described. The structure of the game ship control system in collision situations and the mathematical model of game control process in the form of state equations are given. Characteristics of sensitivity functions of the model and game ship control process on the base of computer simulation in Matlab/Simulink software have been presented. At the end are given proposals regarding the use of sensitivity analysis to practical synthesis of computer-aided system navigator in potential collision situations.

This paper presents an application of selected methods of optimal and game control theory to determine own ship safe trajectory when passing other ships encountered in good and in restricted visibility at sea. Five algorithms for determining safe trajectory of the own ship in a collision risk situation: non-cooperative positional game, non-cooperative matrix game, cooperative positional game, dynamic optimization, and kinematic optimization are compared. The analysis is illustrated with examples of computer simulations of the algorithms to determine safe and optimal own ship trajectories in the real navigational situations at sea.

The paper introduces the positional cooperative and non-cooperative game of a greater number of met ships for the description of the process considered as well as for the synthesis of optimal control strategies of the own ship in collision situation. Opis:
The aim of this research is to check which of two devices the keyboard or the controller –has a positive effect on a player's game-play in a platform game. Four parameters are defined: death count, error count, game time, learning time. A custom game is designed and implemented specifically for the research. The conducted experiment is divided into thirty-minute sessions, during which one player participates in the game after getting acquainted with the game’s mechanics. After completing the game, he/she fills out a survey in which he/she can express his/her level of satisfaction while using the assigned device. Each player has only one attempt. 16 players agree to participate. They are divided into two groups of 8 people each. Participants in the first group use the keyboard while those in the second group use the controller.In order to determine final results for the tested devices, the AHP method is used. The importance values for all pairs of measured parameters are determined in order to calculate their priorities. The priorities allow for distinguishing important from less important parameters. For this purpose, a survey of experienced players is conducted. They help to identify parameter importance.After trials and analysis of responses from the game-play satisfaction and parameter importance surveys, it turns out that players using the keyboard achieve better results, and the keyboard is more satisfying to use.
Celem badań było sprawdzenie, które z dwóch urządzeń służących do sterowania postacią w zręcznościowej grze platformowej, klawiatura czy kontroler, wpływa pozytywnie na wyniki rozgrywki gracza. W tym celu zdefiniowane zostały czteryparametry: liczba śmierci, liczba błędów, czas gry, czas nauki. Badania polegały naukończeniu gry zaprojektowanej i zaprogramowanej specjalnie na potrzeby badań. Badaniazostały podzielone na trzydziestominutowe sesje, podczas których jeden gracz brał udziałw rozgrywce po wcześniejszym zapoznaniu się z mechanikami gry. Po ukończeniu grywypełniał ankietę, w której mógł wyrazić swój poziom satysfakcji z korzystaniaz przypisanego mu urządzenia. Na każdego gracza przypadała jedna próba wykorzystującaklawiaturę lub kontroler. Do badań zgłosiło się 16 osób, które zostały podzielone na dwiegrupy badawcze po 8 osób. Uczestnicy z pierwszej grupy korzystali z klawiatury podczasbadań, a osoby z drugiej –z kontrolera.Aby wyznaczyć wyniki końcowe dla badanych urządzeń, dzięki którym możnabyło je ze sobą porównać, zastosowana została metoda AHP. Na potrzeby tej metodynależało określić przewagi pomiędzy wszystkimi mierzonymi parametrami, aby obliczyćich wagi. Wagi te przyczynić się miały do wyróżnienia parametrów ważnych od mniejważnych. W tym celu utworzona została ankieta skierowana do doświadczonych graczy,którzy pomogli w określeniu tych przewag.Po przeprowadzeniu badań i analizie odpowiedzi z ankiet dotyczących satysfakcjiz rozgrywki oraz przewag parametrów, okazało się, że gracze korzystający z klawiaturyotrzymali lepsze wyniki, a klawiatura była bardziej satysfakcjonująca w użyciu.

The essence of the article is the use of multi-criteria static optimization of object motion, based on a set of optimal Pareto points in the space of possible variants of solutions for a new approach to the problem as a game control. Using the example of the two-criteria optimization of the final payoff of the object game control during the safe evasion of the encountered objects, six methods of multi-criteria static optimization are presented—Bentham's utilitarian rule, Rawls's principle of justice, Salukvadze's benchmark, Benson's weighted sums, Haimes's constraints, and goal-oriented programming. In the end, the results obtained by the two-criteria optimization are compared with regard to the values of the components of the final game payoff—the risk of collision and the deviation of the object from the safe route of the set trajectory of movement. The directions for the development of multi-criteria optimization methods, both static and dynamic, and the game are indicated.

The paper introduced the basic model of process of safe ship control in a collision situation using a game model with j objects, which includes non-linear state equations and non-linear, time varying constraints of the state variables as well as the quality game control index in the forms of the game integral payment and the final payment. Approximated model of the process control as the model of multi-step matrix game in the form of dual linear programming problem has been adopted here. The Game Ship Control GSC computer program has been designed in the Matlab/Simulink software in order to determine the own ship’s safe trajectory. These considerations have been illustrated with examples of a computer simulation using an GSC program for determining the safe ship's trajectory in real navigational situation. Simulation research were passed for five sets of strategies of the own ship and met ships.

The paper introduces the process of safe ship control in collision situations using a differential game model with m participants. The basic model of process includes non-linear state equations and non-linear, time-varying constraints of the state variables as well as the quality game control index in the forms of game integral payment and final payment. The article diagnoses prevalent tendencies in game design and styles of play, positioning players as strong, active, rational, and extraordinary characters able to change the world around them; embodying the logic of inevitable linear progress both in story and game mechanics; encouraging players to optimize their actions to achieve measurable gameplay effects. Foucault’s notion of technologies of the self is used to highlight personal identification with the playable character as a predominant style of play in narrative-based videogames. The article then examines the examples of games that challenge these established tendencies – where the playable character’s intent is made impossible to achieve, rationality of playable character is questioned, the player gets deprived of control of their character in key moments of the game or the identification with the character becomes problematized. The phenomenon is exemplified by the games Spec Ops: The Line, Heavy Rain, Actual Sunlight and The Witcher series.

The article presents a mathematical model of a multi-stage game of the process of safe control of a transport object in possible collision situations with other encountered objects, containing a description of state variables, state and control constraints, and sets of permissible object strategies. Multi-criteria optimization tasks were formulated in the form of positional and matrix games under the conditions of playing non-cooperative and cooperative control as well as non-game optimal control. The multi-criteria control algorithms corresponding to these tasks were computer simulated in Matlab / Simulink on the example of a real situation.
W artykule przedstawiono model matematyczny wieloetapowej gry procesu bezpiecznego sterowania obiektem transportowym w możliwych sytuacjach kolizyjnych z innymi spotkanymi obiektami, zawierający opis zmiennych stanu, ograniczeń stanu i sterowania oraz zbiory dopuszczalnych strategii obiektów. Sformułowano wielokryterialne zadania optymalizacyjne w postaci gry pozycyjnej i macierzowej, w warunkach rozgrywającego sterowania niekooperacyjnego i kooperacyjnego oraz nierozgrywającego sterowania optymalnego. Algorytmy sterowania wielokryterialnego odpowiadające tym zadaniom poddano symulacji komputerowej w programie Matlab/Simulink na przykładzie rzeczywistej sytuacji.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of experimental verification on using a zero-sum differential game and H∞ control in the problems of tracking and stabilizing motion of a wheeled mobile robot (WMR). It is a new approach to the synthesis of input-output systems based on the theory of dissipative systems in the sense of the possibility of their practical application. This paper expands upon the problem of optimal control of a nonlinear, nonholonomic wheeled mobile robot by including the reduced impact of changing operating condtions and possible disturbances of the robot’s complex motion. The proposed approach is based on the H∞ control theory and the control is generated by the neural approximation solution to the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs equation. Our verification experiments confirm that the H∞ condition is met for reduced impact of disturbances in the task of tracking and stabilizing the robot motion in the form of changing operating conditions and other disturbances, which made it possible to achieve high accuracy of motion.

W artykule przedstawiono dokładny model ruchu statków na morzu, w postaci modelu gry różniczkowej j obiektów sterowania, uwzględniający ich kinematykę i dynamikę oraz warunki nieokreśloności i konfliktu, przy nie ścisłym współdziałaniu według zasad międzynarodowego prawa drogi morskiej MPDM. Podano nieliniowe równania stanu procesu, nieliniowe i zmienne w czasie ograniczenia stanu i sterowania oraz kryterium jakości sterowania rozgrywającego w postaci wypłaty całkowej i końcowej. W części końcowej przedstawiono wyniki komputerowej symulacji modelu dla manewru antykolizyjnego zmiany kursu własnego statku.
The paper presents an accurate model of ships traffic, in the form of differential game model of j control objects, in view of their kinematics and dynamics and conditions of uncertainty and conflict, with no close cooperation according to the principles of international collision regulations COLREG. Given the non-linear equations of state of the process, non-linear and time varying constraints the state and control variables and the index of quality control in the form of integral and final payment. The final section presents the results of a computer simulation model for anti-collision maneuver to change the own ship course.

The paper describes the use of matrix game theory for the synthesis of safe control of a ship in collision situations. An analysis of the sensitivity of the ship control algorithm to the inaccuracy of process state information and changes in its parameters was presented. Sensitivity characteristics were compared on the example of the navigational situation in the Kattegat Strait for good and restricted visibility at sea.

To determine who has the power within a stock corporate company can be a quite complex prob-lem, especially when control is achieved through alliances between shareholders. This problem arises especially in cases of indirect control of corporations, that is, in situations involving shareholders and companies with cross-shareholdings. The first to solve the problem of measuring power in the case of indirect share control were Gianfranco Gambarelli and Guillermo Owen in [10]. In the following years, numerous other models were introduced. In this paper, we critically examine the models of: Gambarelli and Owen, Denti and Prati, Crama and Leruth, Karos and Peters, as well as Mercik and Lobos, taking into account two well-known, illustrative examples, one with an acyclic corporate structure and the other with a cyclic structure.

In this work the real-time control of computer games was explored by a single electrode mobile electroencephalography (EEG) device with a Bluetooth interface. The amplitude variation in the two frequency bands of 4-12 Hz and 60-200 Hz was selected as the real-time control parameter. The frequency-domain of a raw EEG signal was calculated using the discrete Fourier transform. The time-dependent signal samples equal to 512, 1024, and 2048 time points in size were used in our research. The well-known classic Pong game was used to try out our controller. The developed software handles communication with the device and real-time game rendering. The .NET Framework with the C# programming language was used as a develop-ment tool. 50 game play trials were made for each controller setup. The obtained results are promising for the possible use of the device in real-time communication with computer devices for people with hand disabilities.

This paper presents a new approach to the existing training of marine control engineering professionals using artificial intelligence. We use optimisation strategies, neural networks and game theory to support optimal, safe ship control by applying the latest scientific achievements to the current process of educating students as future marine officers. Recent advancements in shipbuilding, equipment for robotised ships, the high quality of shipboard game plans, the cost of overhauling, dependability, the fixing of the shipboard equipment and the requesting of the safe shipping and environmental protection, requires constant information on recent equipment and programming for computational intelligence by marine officers. We carry out an analysis to determine which methods of artificial intelligence can allow us to eliminate human subjectivity and uncertainty from real navigational situations involving manoeuvring decisions made by marine officers. Trainees learn by using computer simulation methods to calculate the optimal safe traverse of the ship in the event of a possible collision with other ships, which are mapped using neural networks that take into consideration the subjectivity of the navigator. The game-optimal safe trajectory for the ship also considers the uncertainty in the navigational situation, which is measured in terms of the risk of collision. The use of artificial intelligence methods in the final stage of training on ship automation can improve the practical education of marine officers and allow for safer and more effective ship operation.

Opis:
Several aspects of the TCP/AQM system design are discussed that may affect performance of the network. Namely, due to decentralized structure of the network traffic flow control system in which traffic rate control tasks are delegated to autonomous agents, it may be possible for the agents to profitably re-engineer the TCP congestion control algorithm at the cost of the overall performance of the network. In this paper it is shown how the commonly applied TCP/AQM design procedures may give rise to mechanisms that are prone to attacks discreetly moving the network traffic flow away from the desired operating point. Furthermore, a short discussion is presented concerning the countermeasures that can be taken to reduce these effects.

Since shareholding size does not actually reflect an investor’s power-control in corporate shareholding networks, diverse approaches to measuring the control-power of investors has been proposed. We focus in particular on a game-theoretical approach; specifically the model of Denti and Prati (2001) and its implementation to control sharing analysis and simulation in shareholding networks thanks to the computer program „Control Sharing Simulation”.

The paper presents an evolutionary model illustrating the dynamics that give rise to discriminatory social norms i.e. such rules of behaviour that fulfil two conditions: (1) they treat differently actors having the same abilities and technical options, but differing in some arbitrary sense (2) they are supported by socially enforced sanctions. In the presented model both discrimination and social norms are necessary to solve a coordination problem that arises when the situation requires different actors to perform different tasks. The properties of behavioural rules relying on discrimination and leading to various degrees of inequality are analysed. It is demonstrated that in general norms ensuring equal payoffs are easier to stabilize, but unfair norms can also be stable.

This article, which is a continuation of the article under the same main title and subtitle: part 1 Design and its implementation, includes the obtained results of research experiments with the use of a designed and implemented racing game. It uses a neural model of the vehicle motion control system on the racetrack in the form of a Perceptron Artificial Neural Network (ANN). In designing the movement of vehicles on the racetrack, the following were used, inter alia, Godot Engine and MATLAB and Simulink programming environment. The numerical data (14 input quantities and two output quantities) for ANN training were prepared with the use of semi-automatic measurement of the race track control points. This article shows, among others, the results of 10 selected research experiments, testing and simulation, confirming the correct functioning of both the computer game and the model of the neural control system. As a result of simulation tests, it turned out that the longest lap of the track in the conducted experiments lasted 4 minutes and 55 seconds, and the shortest - 10.47 seconds. In five minutes, the highest number of laps was 34, while the lowest numbers of laps were 1 and 5. In the course of the experiments it was noticed that under the same conditions the ANN learning outcomes are sometimes different.

This paper addresses the problem of navigating an autonomous vehicle using environmental dynamics prediction. The usefulness of the Game Against Nature formalism adapted to modelling environmental prediction uncertainty is discussed. The possibility of the control law synthesis on the basis of strategies against Nature is presented. The properties and effectiveness of the approach presented are verified by simulations carried out in MATLAB.

We build a mathematical game model of pandemic transmission, including vaccinations of population and budget costs of different acting to eliminate pandemic. We assume the interactions among different groups: vaccinated, susceptible, exposed, infectious, super-spreaders, hospitalized and fatality, defining a system of ordinary differential equations, which describes compartment model of disease and costs of the treatment. The goal of the game is to describe the development disease under different types of treatment, but including costs of them and social restrictions, during the shortest time period. To this effect we construct a dual dynamic programming method to describe open-loop Nash equilibrium for treatment, a group of people having antibodies and budget costs. Next, we calculate numerically an approximate open-loop Nash equilibrium.

In this paper we introduce an online algorithm that uses integral reinforcement knowledge for learning the continuous-time zero sum game solution for nonlinear systems with infinite horizon costs and partial knowledge of the system dynamics. This algorithm is a data based approach to the solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs equation and it does not require explicit knowledge on the system’s drift dynamics. A novel adaptive control algorithm is given that is based on policy iteration and implemented using an actor/ disturbance/critic structure having three adaptive approximator structures. All three approximation networks are adapted simultaneously. A persistence of excitation condition is required to guarantee convergence of the critic to the actual optimal value function. Novel adaptive control tuning algorithms are given for critic, disturbance and actor networks. The convergence to the Nash solution of the game is proven, and stability of the system is also guaranteed. Simulation examples support the theoretical result.

In this work we present an application of the concept of non-cooperative game equilibria to the design of a collision free movement of a team of mobile robots in a dynamic environment. We propose the solution to the problem of feasible control synthesis, based on a partially centralized sensory system. The control strategy based on the concept of non-cooperative game equilibria is well known in the literature. It is highly efficient through phases where the solution is unique. However, even in simple navigation problems, it happens that multiple equilibria occur, which incurs a problem for control synthesis and may lead to erroneous results. In this paper we present a solution to this problem based on the partial centralization idea. The coordinator module is incorporated into the system and becomes active when multiple equilibria are detected. The coordination method includes a ``fair arbiter'' for the selection of an appropriate equilibrium solution. Simulation studies of the proposed methodology were carried out for 2, 3 and 5 robots, and their results are presented.

The publication consist of two parts. Part 1 contains the results of research on the design, learning and implementation of the Perceptron Artificial Neural Network as a model of neural control of car movement on the racetrack. This part 1 presents the results of studies, including review of the methods used in video racing games from the point of view of the selection of a method that can be used in the own research experiment, selection of the Artificial Neural Network architecture, its teaching method and parameters for the intended research experiment, selection of the data measurement method to be used in ANN training, as well as development design of a car game, its implementation and conducting simulation tests. In designing the game of vehicle traffic on the racetrack, among others, Godot Engine game engine and MATLAB and Simulink programming environment. The numerical data (14 input quantities and two output quantities) for ANN training were prepared with the use of semi-automatic measurement of the race track control points. Part 2 shows i.a. the results of the testing and simulation experiments that confirm the correct functioning of both the game and the model of the neural control system. There were also shown, among others, the possibility of continuing research in the field of increasing the flexibility of the racing game, in particular the flexibility of the vehicle traffic control system through the use of other artificial intelligence methods, such as ant algorithms or evolutionary algorithms.

Poezja cybernetyczna jest nowym gatunkiem powstałym z połączenia literatury i cybernetyki. W wyniku integracji poezji z technologią wygenerowany zostaje obiekt tekstowo--wizualno-dźwiękowy, który atakuje odbiorcę różnorodnością elementów, wywołując poczucie dezorientacji czy szoku. Prawidłowy odbiór cyberpoezji uwarunkowany jest kontekstem, do którego dany utwór się odnosi. W niniejszym tekście omówiony jest kontekst ludyczny, podkreślający aspekt gry i zachodzącą interakcję między użytkownikiem a obiektem. Odwołując się do konkretnych utworów animacyjnych, wskażę, w jaki sposób odbywa się gra z cybertekstem, którego charakter ujawnia się wyłącznie poprzez aktywną działalność odbiorcy. Kontekst ludyczny zmusza użytkownika do interakcji, ponieważ tylko wtedy odsłania się cybernetyczny aspekt poezji, a mianowicie sterowanie tekstem i generowanie znaczeń.
Cyber poetry is the exemplification of an art genre whose existence is due to the fusion of literature and cybernetics. Where poetry meets with technology, images, sounds and words merge into a single work of art whose three constituents assail the consumer in a literal typhoon of impulses that leave him stunned and baffled, as he is confronted with the essence of audiovisual culture. The adequate reception/absorption of cyber poetry is dependent on the respective essential conditions it refers to as a genuine work of art. The game is the most essential context in the interpretation of cyber poetry, as it emphasizes the aspects of a game and the interaction between consumer/user and the object. Referring to a selection of actual animated works of cyber art the author demonstrates how to operate with a cybertext, whose character discloses itself solely through usertext-interaction. The ludic character compels the user to interaction, only through the latter’s leading part the composition reveals its cybernetic aspect, which lies in the piloting of the text itself and the evocation of connotations and underlying sense.
