    An IT project consisting in implementing a management support information system is characterised by information asymmetry between the supplier and the client. The presented research results are part of the author’s broader research pointing to imperfections in the access to information amongst the providers and buyers of IT projects. The scope of this article is to present the methods of avoiding information asymmetry as part of an IT project implementation. The research results may be interesting for researchers specialising in the subject matter of IT project implementation and for practitioners completing IT projects.

    Realizacja projektów jest naturalnym mechanizmem wdrażania zmian oraz innowacji w organizacjach. Wiele miejsca w literaturze poświęcono zagadnieniom dotyczącym zbierania wiedzy i dzielenia się nią. Organizacje mają świadomość, że proces zarządzania wiedzą jest krytycznym czynnikiem dla sukcesu projektów i utrzymania konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstwa na rynku. Celem tego artykułu jest analiza horyzontalnego i wertykalnego przepływu wiedzy w organizacjach działających na terenie Polski, realizujących projekty informatyczne dla klientów o zasięgu globalnym. Autorzy zdecydowali się przeanalizować, jak i dlaczego wiedza o projektach i z projektów informatycznych jest zbierana oraz dystrybuowana na różnych poziomach organizacji.
    Project implementation is a natural mechanism for implementing change and innovation in organizations. A lot of space in literature have been devoted to issues related to knowledge collection and sharing. Organizations are aware that knowledge management is a critical factor for the success of projects and for maintaining a company’s competitive edge. The aim of this paper is to analyze horizontal and vertical knowledge flows in organizations operating in Poland that implement IT projects for global clients. The authors have decided to analyze how and why knowledge of projects and with IT projects is collected and distributed at various levels of the organization.

    Work that is performed at the stage of the analysis should not only be characterized by addressing the issues directly related to the same product - a computer system. It turns out that the products produced at that stage should be skillfully managed within IT projects. Results and analytical products should merge two parallel and complex environments: - needs of the organization - customer's, the future user of the system, - the manufacturing team of the contractor and the resulting properties. Reconciling of above factors affecting the work, probably should have an overriding goal in mind, where we speak of business needs across the organization - the customer, the direction of its evolution. Analytical products on the one hand define specific and present beings, on the other, should have flexibility and allow support for future changes. This work should be characterized not only predictable effects directly affecting the fate of the implemented projects, but also the future ones related to the evolution of the organization and its business needs, where methodological - tool workshop of the analyst is extremely important. The competence of decision makers in this area is often built over many years. Indeed, exploration of this knowledge is not trivial and takes time. Certainly the training and competence, confirmed by international certificates helps to make the right decisions. But it was the defining of role the of the analyst in a real and specific workplace - provides appropriate reference point , that is needed in the implementation of relevant work for the client and contractor. The experiences of a person working as analyst in IT projects, have led to the conclusions outlined in this article, which made it clear that later it would be needed to carry out scientific work, aimed to provide a definition. It would be a definition that would accept the proportions and agreed ideas from two separate areas of expertise: software engineering and economics. Thus, there would be some legitimate points of reference and guidelines for the production teams, which would inform about the impact of analytical products - that seem to be the most important results of the work in any IT project - on the course of the project and software engineering.

    Purpose: The aim of this article is to present the results of research aimed at identifying the most frequent risk factors of IT projects managed using the agile approach to project management. Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted by means of in-depth structured interviews, on a sample of 111 project managers, leaders and project team members. The research included identification of risk factors and their assessment during project planning, as well as the most frequent risk factors in an agile-managed project. Findings: While carrying out a critical analysis of the literature, it can be observed that in the majority of publications concerning risk in projects managed in the agile way, the human factor is strongly underestimated, often excessively favouring procedures. However, when analysing the risk factors arising in IT projects managed in the agile way, except for the technology, equipment, system, or even the project schedule and cost, the project team is strongly accentuated. Research limitations/implications: The article presented recommendations to conduct supplementary research concerning the assessment of risk factors directly resulting from the specific nature of IT projects and the application of agile methodology to project management in terms of project team work organisation as well as potential project stakeholder groups. Originality/value: Software companies are one of the typical industries in which project management and the concept of teamwork are applied and the functioning of these teams is the dominant form of work organisation.

    The complexity of contemporary projects leds to necessity the establishment of common platforms of agreement for professionals from the various fields involved in project. This is especially important in technical projects, where not only technical but also business aspects must be considered. The specific situation takes place in IT projects that have developed their own software development methods. The aim of this paper is to present the results of comparative analysis of standards used in the field of technical project management. There was also a comparison with the approaches used in IT projects.

    The IT system market belongs to the group of markets characterised by imperfections in information access both amongst the suppliers and the recipients. Literature studies indicate a research gap concerning the phenomenon of information asymmetry between the supplier and the recipient in an IT project. My research thus far has indicated that an excessively high level of information asymmetry between the supplier and the recipient, occurring during the entire life cycle of a management support IT system, is an important factor, which has a key significance to the success of the project. The scope of this article is to present the results of research on the phenomenon of asymmetry in information access both amongst suppliers and recipients as part of a conducted case study.

    The main aim of this study is to analyse the development trends of project management with the focus on the management of IT projects. The initial parts of the work are devoted to the analysis of the concepts concerning project management and their relation to the management of processes. Next, the author defines the basic determinants of IT projects' management. The subsequent part of this work concerns the evolution of the IT project life cycle in project management methodologies. In the final part of this study the author characterized modern project management methodologies and analyzed the trends in their development.
    Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza tendencji rozwojowych zarządzania projektami ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zarządzania projektami IT. Pierwsza część pracy poświęcona jest analizom pojęć, związanych z zarządzaniem projektami i ich stosunku do zarządzania procesami. Następnie autor definiuje podstawowe determinanty zarządzania projektami IT. W dalszej części pracy poruszane jest zagadnienie ewolucji IT i cyklu życia projektu w metodologii zarządzania projektami. W końcowej części pracy autor charakteryzuje nowoczesne metody zarządzania projektami i analizy tendencji w ich rozwoju.

    Conducting informatic projects requires the application of modern solutions that streamline workflow. Current projects are becoming more complicated, during their implementation, large amounts of data and information are generated. In addition, in many external sources we can find data and information of the various forms and levels of detail. To get from this data a valuable knowledge, it is necessary to use new data analysis techniques and new technological solutions. The article sets out to present a dissertation of considerations for IT projects and the steps of IT project were highlighted with areas and IT tools that support their implementation. The aim of this article is to assess the current level of use of IT tools by the companies considered as leaders, at various stages of IT projects implementation. The authors also rated the intensity of IT tools usage in various areas of project execution. The paper includes results of research conducted, and can serve as a guideline for enterprises developing IT tools intended to streamline informatic projects. The contents of the dissertation are based on literature studies and empirical research.

    Zjawisko asymetrii informacji pomiędzy dostawcą a odbiorcą w przedsięwzięciach informatycznych realizowanych na bazie outsourcingu stanowi istotne zagadnienie, które ma wpływ na cały cykl życia projektu informatycznego. Asymetria informacji jest immanentną cechą transakcji na rynku informatycznym, którą według autora należy wziąć pod uwagę przy analizie skuteczności przedsięwzięć informatycznych. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest syntetyczne przedstawienie badań autora dotyczących zjawiska asymetrii informacji w projektach informatycznych. Konkluzje mogą być interesujące zarówno dla praktyków gospodarczych, jak i dla teoretyków informatyki ekonomicznej.
    The phenomenon of information asymmetry between the supplier and the client in IT projects based on outsourcing is an important issue that affects the entire life cycle of an IT project. Information asymmetry is an inherent feature of transactions in the IT market, which should be considered while analysing IT project success. The aim of this article is to summarise my research concerning information asymmetry in IT projects. The conclusions may be interesting both for practitioners and theorists of business informatics.

    The author’s research to date has shown that information asymmetry constitutes a critical success factor both for the client and the supplier in IT information projects. Literature confirms that the phenomenon of information asymmetry between the client and the supplier in IT projects is hard to measure due to problems in accessing credible information and the lack of established methods. Hence, it is important to study the phenomenon of information asymmetry and to understand the conditioning that affects it. The aim of the article is to present a model describing the causes of information asymmetry in IT implementation projects completed through outsourcing. The author studies information asymmetry in the project life cycle of ERP, CRM, BI and DM systems. The conclusions may be interesting both for economic practitioners and for theoreticians of business economics.
    Dotychczasowe badania autora wykazały, iż asymetria informacji stanowi krytyczny czynnik sukcesu zarówno dla klienta, jak i dostawców wśród informatycznych przedsięwzięć wdrożeniowych. Literatura przedmiotu potwierdza, że zjawisko asymetrii informacji pomiędzy dostawcą a odbiorcą w projektach informatycznych jest trudno mierzalne z powodu ograniczonego dostępu do wiarygodnych informacji i braku opracowanych metod. Dlatego istotne jest poznanie zjawiska asymetrii informacji w projektach informatycznych oraz zrozumienie uwarunkowań wpływających na to zjawisko. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie modelu opisującego przyczyny występowania zjawiska asymetrii informacji wśród informatycznych przedsięwzięć wdrożeniowych realizowanych w oparciu o outsourcing. Autor bada asymetrię informacji w cyklu życia projektu wśród systemów klasy ERP, CRM, BI oraz DMS. Konkluzje mogą być interesujące i dla praktyków gospodarczych, i dla teoretyków informatyki ekonomicznej.

    The usage of the evaluation concerning IT projects by software producers constitutes a crucial element of their preparation and realization. From many generally accessible methodologies the authors chose two methods (Delphi and UCP1 ) as well as undertook an attempt of analyzing obtained results. Conducted results will support the evaluation of newly realized projects. The objective is an attempt of comparing the efficiency of selected methods of pricing the software with indicating the areas of their usage as well as factors which influence the realization of those projects.

    Purpose: The realization of large, characterized by high uncertainty and variability IT projects is usually complicated and overlong, and their effectiveness often lower than expected. Hence the role of the project leader as the person responsible for the success of the project is of particular importance. In this context the purpose of the paper was to investigate the relationship between technical (directional in IT) education and technical experience in IT of a leader, and team work effectiveness in IT projects, recognized as one of the predictors of the project's success. Design/methodology/approach: Empirical research was conducted to verify the existence of the predicted relationship and to reach the aim of the paper. The study was quantitative in character. The set of hypotheses was built based on the theoretical research and then verified the CAWI method on sample of 178 respondents working on IT projects in organizations operating in Poland. The calculations were made using the PS Imago Pro ver. 7.0 and Process macro for SPSS ver. 4.1 by Andrew F. Hayes. Findings: It has been shown that there is indirect relationship between the studied variables, and the mediators of this relationship are leader’s technical competences and the leader’s efficiency. There is a mediation relationship between the dependent variable (team work effectiveness) and independent variables (technical education and technical experience in IT of a leader). Research limitations/implications: Performed empirical study is burdened with certain limitations. The obtained sample of 178 respondents is by far not a representative sample and verified only in one business context (Poland). In order to generalize the results in future research cross-national study and larger samples can be collected. Practical implications: The obtained results contribute to practice of management, showing that among various groups of factors determining team work effectiveness in IT projects both soft and hard (technical) competencies of the leader are important. The latter are shaped by the technical, directional (in IT) education and technical (in IT) experience of the leader. This has practical implications, especially for HR services in the process of employees recruitment. In addition to soft skills, knowledge of programming languages and programming experience should be a significant assets wanted when hiring IT project managers. Originality/value: This research enhances understanding factors determining team work effectiveness in IT projects. The research make an important contribution to the body of project management and human resources management literature by demonstrating the meaning of the technical education and technical experience of a leader for team work effectiveness in IT projects.

    The research results presented here refer to the issues linked to the role of information technologies in enterprise value building models that can be found in the current economic structure. The scope of this article is to present an analysis of the data collected in an annual research cycle and the resulting conclusions, describing management support IT projects in three groups of enterprises, representing three models of enterprise value analysis, i.e. the value chain, the value shop and the value network. The essence of the research is to present a distribution of management support IT systems, the size of the projects, chosen application implementation strategies and the method of IT project investment economic evaluation in specific enterprise groups.

    Celem pracy jest omówienie kierunków zmian wykorzystania nowoczesnych narzędzi wspomagających zarządzanie projektami w przedsiębiorstwach o charakterze międzynarodowym. Pokazano aktualne praktyki dotyczące ich wykorzystania oraz omówiono szanse i zagrożenia, jakie im towarzyszą. W prezentowanej pracy zastosowano metodę studium przypadku uzupełnioną o przegląd literatury uwzględniający możliwości wykorzystania narzędzia Enterprise Project Management przez wybrane przedsiębiorstwa. Analizie poddano projekt wdrożenia narzędzia informatycznego do wspomagania procesów zarządzania projektami w przedsiębiorstwie międzynarodowym. Omówiono jego zalety oraz wady w stosunku do tradycyjnych sposobów zarządzania. Wskazano szanse i zagrożenia dla rozwoju przedsiębiorstw wynikające z zastosowania nowoczesnych narzędzi informatycznych. Zaprezentowane wyniki badań mogą stanowić wsparcie dla decydentów odpowiedzialnych za rozwój i wdrażanie nowych systemów informatycznych w przedsiębiorstwie. Wnioski zawarte w pracy mogą ułatwiać podjęcie trafnej decyzji w zakresie skutecznego wykorzystania narzędzi informatycznych wspomagających zarządzanie projektami.
    The paper presents the results of research on implementation of the Enterprise Project Management system tools for project management designed to streamline the process of work planning and resource management in foreign subsidiaries. Advantages and disadvantages of this type of solutions were discussed in comparison to traditional methods of management. The author also shows opportunities and threats for the development of enterprises resulting from the use of modern information technology products which support project management. Finally, psychological factors were presented which may cause employees’ concerns in international subsidiaries and may constitute an obstacle for the implementation of Enterprise Project Management systems.

    Wdrażanie systemów informatycznych wspierających zarządzanie z wykorzystaniem outsourcingu jest najbardziej popularnym sposobem realizacji projektów w Polsce. Nadal wiele projektów informatycznych kończy się porażką. Celem niniejszych badań jest próba analizy projektu informatycznego z wykorzystaniem współczesnych teorii działania przedsiębiorstwa uzupełniających neoklasyczną wizję funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa. W ramach badań autor wykorzystuje nową ekonomię instytucjonalną, a w szczególności teorię agencji, teorię kontraktualną oraz teorię kosztów transakcyjnych. Opiera się na metodzie studiów przypadków, które przedstawiają wdrożenie systemów informatycznych klasy ERP, BI, CRM. Rezultaty badań mogą być interesujące dla teoretyków informatyki gospodarczej, jak również dla praktyków organizujących przedsięwzięcia informatyczne w przedsiębiorstwach i w agendach rządowych.
    Implementing management information systems based on outsourcing is by far the most popular method of completing this type of projects in Poland. Many projects, however, still end in failure. This study aims to analyse IT projects using contemporary enterprise theories, which significantly contribute to the neoclassical vision of enterprise functioning. As part of his research, the author uses the new institutional economics, in particular the agency theory, the contractual theory and the theory of transaction costs. The author used the case studies method, presenting ERP, BI and CRM system implementations. Research results may be interesting for theorists of business informatics, as well as practitioners implementing IT projects, both in enterprises and government agencies.

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań projektów IT. Celem przeprowadzonej analizy było zbadanie, jakie atrybuty charakteryzujące projekt oraz jakie elementy procesu zarządzania projektem mają wpływ na dotrzymanie planowanego terminu jego realizacji. W badaniach zastosowano aparat statystyki matematycznej (ANOVA). Skonstruowano logitowy model regresji opisujący wpływ analizowanych czynników na prawdopodobieństwo ukończenia projektu w terminie. Badaniami objęto projekty IT realizowane w Polsce.
    The article presents the results of investigation of IT projects. The aim of the analysis was to indicate what attributes characterize the project and what elements of the project management process have an impact on keeping the planned project deadline. The statistical analysis (ANOVA) was performed. Logit regression model was constructed. The model describes influence of analysed factors on the probability of completing the project on time. The study involved IT projects implemented in Poland.

    W artykule przedstawiono główne metodyki zarządzania projektami informatycznymi z podziałem na klasyczne i zwinne. Dodatkowo opisano najczęściej używane narzędzia wspomagające zarządzanie projektami informatycznymi oraz skupiono się na narzędziach wspomagających pracę podczas zarządzania ryzykiem, przeprowadzono ich klasyfikację, a także zaprezentowano możliwe sposoby ich wykorzystania w przyszłości. Celem artykułu było ukazanie zależności między wielkością firmy i pochodzeniem jej kapitału a doborem odpowiedniej metodyki zarządzania całym projektem, jak i samym aspektem ryzyka, oraz stosowanych narzędzi informatycznych do zarządzania nim. Przeprowadzono ankietę na 200 respondentach. Warunkiem koniecznym do wypełnienia ankiety było spełnienie jednego kryterium – praca w Polsce w dziale IT w ciągu ostatnich pięciu lat. Grupa respondentów była zróżnicowana pod względem wielkości firmy, pochodzenia jej kapitału, województwa, wielkości miasta oraz rodzaju klientów i świadczonych usług.
    The article presents the main methods of managing IT projects divided into classic and agile. In addition, the most frequently used tools supporting IT project management were described. The emphasis was placed on the tools supporting work during risk management, including its classification and the possibilities of the future usage. The aim of the article was to show the relationship between the size of a business and the origin of its capital and the choice of the appropriate management methodology for the entire project, as well as the risk itself and the IT tools used to manage it. A survey of 200 respondents was conducted. The condition necessary to complete the survey was the fulfillment of one criterion – working in Poland in the IT department in the last 5 years. The respondent group was diversified according to the size of the company, the origin of its capital, the voivodship, the size of the city and the type of services provided.

Jest on oparty na ankiecie, którą wypełniają osoby zaangażowane w różnych rolach w realizację projektów informatycznych wykorzystujących podejście Scrum.
    In the paper, a survey of maturity models known in the literature is conducted. A new model for the Scrum approach is proposed. The model will allow each organisation to evaluate quantitatively and qualitatively the degree of maturity of the Scrum implementation in individual projects and in the whole organisation. The model is based on a questionnaire filled in by persons playing different roles in IT projects using the Scrum approach.

    The effectiveness of completing IT projects consisting in the implementation of a management support information system is still unsatisfactory, even though slightly higher compared to other countries. The scope of this article is to present research results concerning the effectiveness factors in completing IT projects that consist in the implementation of ERP, CRM, BI and DMS-class management support information systems from the supplier’s perspective. The main research problem here is to verify the author’s research up to this date, based on case studies, which allowed for the formation of a research hypothesis regarding the effectiveness factors in IT project completion. Understanding the supplier’s views and cognitive maps is important for describing the logic of action that prevails amongst a wide range of enterprises in Poland in outsourcing management support information projects.
    Skuteczność realizacji projektów informatycznych polegających na wdrożeniu systemów wspierających zarządzanie w Polsce nadal jest na niezadowalającym poziomie, mimo że na tle innych krajów wypadamy nieznacznie lepiej. Prowadzone badania w Polsce wskazują przyczyny tego zjawiska, a także analizują czynniki skuteczności realizacji projektów informatycznych. Według autora projekt realizacji wdrożenia systemów informatycznych wspierających zarządzanie powinno się badać, uwzględniając również osiągnięcia nowej ekonomii instytucjonalnej, jako transakcję regulowaną kontraktem pomiędzy klientem a dostawcą w całym cyklu życia projektu, a nie tylko jako przedsięwzięcie organizacyjno-informatyczne. Takie podejście pozwala dostrzec problemy i zagadnienia, jakie leżą zarówno u podstaw relacji pomiędzy dostawcą a odbiorcą, a także umów na realizacje projektów, w których cele i interesy dwóch stron kontraktu są sprzeczne. Konsekwencją takiego podejścia jest próba identyfikacji czynników skuteczności realizacji projektów informatycznych z perspektywy dostawcy oraz z perspektywy klienta, które mogą się różnić. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie rezultatów badań dotyczących czynników skuteczności realizacji projektów informatycznych polegających na wdrożeniu systemów informatycznych wspierających zarządzanie klasy ERP, CRM, BI, DMS z perspektywy dostawcy. Głównym problemem badawczym jest weryfikacja dotychczasowych badań autora opartych na studiach przypadku, które pozwoliły postawić hipotezę badawczą dotyczącą czynników skuteczności realizacji projektów informatycznych. Zrozumienie poglądów i map poznawczych z perspektywy dostawcy ma istotne znaczenie dla opisu dominującej logiki działania outsourcingu w zakresie realizacji projektów informatycznych wspierających zarządzanie wśród szerokiego spektrum grupy przedsiębiorstw w Polsce.

    Wzrost znaczenia zwinnych metod staje się światowym trendem w zarządzaniu projektami IT. Ze względu na specyfikę wdrażanych projektów, podejście prezentowane w tych metodach jest coraz częściej wybierane i preferowane zarówno przez klientów, jak i przez dostawców rozwiązań. Obserwacja rynku nie pozostawia wątpliwości, że zwinne metodyki zarządzania projektami napotykają na szereg trudności, ograniczeń i barier. Mają one wpływ zarówno na wybór metodyki, jak również na ostateczny sukces projektu. Dotyczy to w szczególności rozwiązań realizowanych w sektorze publicznym. Artykuł jest próbą charakteryzacji i usystematyzowania przyczyn tych ograniczeń i pokazuje szczególnie istotne bariery z perspektywy prawnej i organizacyjnej. Badania własne, analiza źródeł wtórnych, a także wielu projektów wdrożeń w branży pozwoliły na identyfikację kluczowych rekomendacji w zakresie koniecznych zmian.
    The agile methods are becoming increasingly popular in IT project management worldwide. The character of the implemented projects makes this approach more and more favored among both clients and solution providers. An examination of the market reveals that agile project management faces different problems, limitations and barriers that influence the choice of given methodology and condition the successful delivery of projects, especially in the public sector. The article attempts to characterize and systematize the reasons for such limitations and to indicate major obstacles to the implementation from legal and organizational perspective. The own research, analysis of secondary sources, as well as numerous implementation projects in the field allowed for the formulation of key recommendations for necessary changes.

    An excessively high level of information asymmetry between the supplier and the client occurring during the whole life cycle of an MIS is an important factor influencing the success of a project. The methods chosen to minimise information asymmetry in IT projects constitute an important research area which can impact their successful outcome. The aim of this article is to present research results on the use of Agile Methodology as a tool for minimising information asymmetry as part of an IT project completion consisting in a DMS system implementation with the use of outsourcing. The article may be interesting both for theoreticians of business informatics and for practitioners specializing in IT project implementation.

    W artykule przedstawiono rezultaty analizy porównawczej wybranych narzędzi online do zarządzania i komunikacji w projektach informatycznych. Badania przeprowadzono przy pomocy analizy wielokryterialnej oraz eksperymentu naukowego, który polegał na utworzeniu harmonogramu projektu w badanych aplikacjach. Rezultaty badań pozwoliły określić wartości zmiennych diagnostycznych, które pomogły wybrać najlepsze narzędzie.
    The article presents the results of comparative analysis of selected online tools for management and communication in IT projects. The research was carried out using a multicriteria analysis and a scientific experiment which consisted in creating a project schedule in the studied applications. The results of the study allowed one to determine the values of diagnostic variables that helped to select the best tool.

    The article describes the main factors which directly or indirectly influence the range and pace of IT implementation projects. It analyses the main structural elements and functional procedures of the implementation reengineering in the ECM (Enterprise Content Management) systems area, and presents the outline of managing projects execution. The main objective of this paper is to present the author's general conceptual model of the implementations of the ECM system in an organization, resulting from the preliminary literature review and extensive practical experience. Streszczenie: W artykule omawiono główne czynniki wpływające bezpośrednio lub pośrednio na zakres i tempo implementacji przedsięwzięć informatycznych, zanalizowano podstawowe elementy strukturalne i procedury funkcjonalne praktycznej reinżynierii wdrażania systemów, a także przedstawiono zarys zarządzania realizacją projektów. Słowa kluczowe: projekty informatyczne, wdrażanie systemów informatycznych, systemy klasy ECM.
    W artykule omawiono główne czynniki wpływające bezpośrednio lub pośrednio na zakres i tempo implementacji przedsięwzięć informatycznych, zanalizowano podstawowe elementy strukturalne i procedury funkcjonalne praktycznej reinżynierii wdrażania systemów, a także przedstawiono zarys zarządzania realizacją projektów.

    The high IT project failure rate means that the stakeholders start recognizing the need to analyze the factors influencing project success, previously deemed irrelevant in the face of technology, including the agile approach, eliminating project documentation, effective prototyping, information asymmetry between project parties, while also perfecting communication and the methods of knowledge transfer between team members. Currently, IT projects are researched using a holistic approach, seeing an implementation project as a whole, subject to specific regularities, which may not be deduced based on the knowledge of their individual components. We would like to enrich the research perspective with the notion of the information gap. The article aims to evaluate and analyze the information gap in ERP and CRM project implementations. We have researched the information gap from the perspective of project managers on the supplier’s and the client’s sides. The study was conducted in Poland between 2014 and 2021 in a group of medium companies, using qualitative research methods: unstructured interview and direct observation. The study led to a qualitative characterization of the information gap and the identification of its causes and consequences. The presented research result can help achieve three goals, i.e. studying the information gap in the selected group of IT projects, indicating the nature of imperfection in information access by the project participants, and raising awareness amongst project managers regarding risk management issues, especially uncertainty. Reducing the information gap can be used by the transaction parties to implement a strategy of building the object’s resilience to uncertainty and its consequences. These results can help develop methodologies of IT project implementation, limiting the level of risk and uncertainty.

Wynika to przede wszystkim z relatywnie niższych kosztów pracy idących w parze z wysokimi kompetencjami i dobrym wykształceniem pracowników w naszym kraju. Duże zagraniczne koncerny otwierają i rozwijają następne ośrodki, realizując setki, tysiące inicjatyw projektowych rocznie. Tego typu projekty są zawsze obarczone większym ryzykiem, barierami komunikacyjnymi czy kulturowymi. Celem tego artykułu jest identyfikacja głównych barier związanych z zarządzaniem wiedzą w projektach informatycznych realizowanych w modelu outsourcingowym/offshoringowym.
    Significance of Poland as outsourcing/offshoring center for IT has continuously been growing over the last few years. It is caused by crucial cost reduction of employment fees and providing highly educated workforce with excellent language skills. Large foreign companies open and develop each time more centers carrying out thousands of project initiatives annually. Such projects are characterized by higher risk, more complex communication and additional cultural barriers. The purpose of this article is to identify the main barriers of knowledge management in IT projects conducted in the outsourcing/offshoring model.

    Rozwój wdrożonego systemu obejmuje funkcjonalność związaną z generowaniem raportów wg rozmaitych kryteriów (np. nazwisko prowadzącego) oraz zmianę wizualizacji danych. Wykorzystanie przeglądarki internetowej jako warstwy prezentacji daje możliwość zdalnego śledzenia rozwoju prac, również na urządzeniach mobilnych. Wdrożenie systemu kontroli wersji w ramach zajęć z udziałem grup projektowych skutecznie wspomaga proces nabywania kompetencji miękkich związanych z pracą w grupie.
    The system was originally designed, implemented and deployed in the academic year 2011/12 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Telecommunications, University of Zielona Gora, Poland. The purpose of the project was to support teaching activities during the of student group work. The system development includes change in the reporting functionality to widen the reporting criteria; the other change is upgrade of visualization mechanisms. Reports are generated in two steps: (1) data collecting, based on Unix-specific mechanisms such as cyclic script execution and pipelining, (2) acquired data processing and report generating. Implementation of the new functionality requires exploiting, besides the currently employed SVN repository server [3], additional solutions: (1) Apache web server, (2) PHP module (implementation of data processing and consolidation), (3) XML module (data collecting and processing) and (4) GD module (online graphic generation [4]). The use of a web browser as the presentation layer gives ability to track students work remotely, even from mobile devices. Implementation of the version control system in the student group work courses supports learning the soft skills associated with group work effectively. Further development of the system will cover: (1) separate access levels, based on username and password authentication as well as (2) simplifying new repositories creation process.

    W artykule przedstawiono problem nieefektywności projektów informatycznych spowodowanych różnymi rodzajami marnotrawstwa, zdefiniowanymi w ramach koncepcji Lean Management. Przegląd literatury przedmiotu służył do scharakteryzowania zjawiska marnotrawstwa w projektach informatycznych, jego źródeł oraz sposobów ograniczania, takich jak: zwinne techniki zarządzania projektami, koncepcja Flow oraz technika mapowania strumienia wartości. Przedstawiono wyniki wstępnych badań własnych w postaci wywiadów z kierownikiem projektu i członkiem zespołu IT. Wyniki pokazują, że marnotrawstwo występuje w projektach IT, chociaż ich poziom jest niższy niż w firmach zarządzanych tradycyjnie. Źródła marnotrawstwa pochodzą ze wszystkich szczebli związanych z projektami informatycznymi, tj. organizacji, zarządzania projektami, szczebli poszczególnych pracowników i zespołów projektowych.
    The chapter presents the problem of inefficiencies in IT projects caused by varied types of waste defined in terms of Lean Management concept. The literature review is used to define the sources and phenomenon of waste in IT projects as well as such ways of their restricting like agile project management techniques, the concept of Flow and the value stream mapping technique. The results of the preliminary own research in the form of interviews with a project manager and IT team member are presented. The results show that waste occurs in IT projects although its level is lower than in traditionally governed companys. The sources of waste derive from all the levels connected with IT projects that is the organization, the project management, the levels of individual employees and project teams.

    Information technology companies often have to setup a specific virtual environment in order to develop innovative software products. Software development requires a variety of IT tools to ensure a smooth flow of information and proper organisation of tasks within the project team. The evolution of information and communication technologies has allowed virtual teams to share knowledge online, which became more preferable than traditional meetings of developers. The main objective of this article is to determine how virtual project teams are being formed and what are the key attributes of a virtual team – a conceptual Three Aspects Model of a virtual team was presented that may be used in further research. An overview of supportive project management software solutions for virtual teams has also been conducted. The research results presented in the paper indicate that various IT tools lack support in some aspects of virtual project teams.

    The aim of the study was to analyze the impact of technical debt on projects goals achievement, considered from the perspective of software developing teams. The investigations are addressed to technical debt accumulation, difficulties related to its service and repaying. The most important stakeholders are identified on which the dechnical debt has an impact or which influence the technical debt accumulation. An interesting issue was to look at the debt from the inside in order to obtain views of members of the software developing teams. In order to obtain all the necessary information, a survey is conducted referred to the members of the software developing teams. The responses obtained from the survey concerns types of technical debt encountered, attitude, knowledge and approach to the debt. The article also shows that the lack of knowledge and awareness related to technical debt in teams affects the technical debt growth. The paper provides, based on SWOT analysis, solutions proposals that are designed to prevent dangerous situations resulting from technical debt.

    The presented research results refer to the issues linked to the role of information technologies in enterprise value building models that can be found in the current economic structure. The scope of this article is to present an analysis of data collected in an annual research cycle and the resulting conclusions, describing management support IT projects in three groups of enterprises, representing three models of enterprise value analysis, i.e. value chain, value shop and value network. The research was questionnaire-based and covered the total of 160 enterprises and 210 IT projects carried out in those enterprises. The presented comparative research results indicate a map of characteristics within the typology of IT projects carried out in Poland in three different groups of enterprises. The essence of the research is to present a distribution of management support IT systems, the size of the projects, chosen application implementation strategies and the method of IT project investment economic evaluation in specific enterprise groups. The research results may be interesting for researchers specialising in the subject of IT project realisation and for practitioners realising projects for companies belonging to these groups.

    W artykule wskazano uwarunkowania realizacji przedsięwzięć informatycznych wspomagających zarządzanie, istotne z punktu widzenia bezpieczeństwa projektów. Zwrócono uwagę na tak ważne elementy jak: referencyjność oferowanych rozwiązań informatycznych, stabilność otoczenia implementacyjnego projektu, aspekty motywacyjne i odpowiedzialność w projekcie oraz narzędzia zarządzania zmianą. Autor wskazuje potrzebę przeprowadzenia analizy planowanych projektów informatycznych pod kątem ich uwarunkowań implementacyjnych w celu rzetelnego oszacowania ryzyk. Artykuł został napisany w oparciu o studium literatury przedmiotu oraz doświadczenie praktyczne Autora.
    The article indicates conditions for the implementation of IT projects supporting management, which are important from the point of view of project security. Attention was paid to such important elements as: the reference character of the offered IT solutions, the stability of the project’s implementation environment, motivational aspects in the project and responsibility, as well as change management tools. The author indicates the need to analyze the planned IT projects in terms of their implementation conditions in order to reliably assess the risks. The article was written based on a study of the literature on the subject and the Author’s practical experience in the subject area.

    Preparation of IT systems implementation projects is connected with many issues of design, technical, and technological nature. Many IT projects encounter difficulties in their implementation, which often results in problems with achieving the assumed functionality, exceeding the project execution time, and additional costs, if not in the investment phase, then surely in system operation phase. A number of difficulties are due – among other things – to imperfections of the contract between employer and contractor, which in case the employer is a public party, has substantial limitations concerning changes in its content, thus it may later cause difficulties in its execution. The paper, among the many issues related to implementation of IT systems, focuses mainly upon the subject of the contract, its scope, period of validity, and remuneration for implementation and maintenance of IT project.

    Opis:
    Poland more than 10 years later than the other European Union (EU) states acted towards informatizaton of public administration, thanks to which it was possible to share public services with individuals and companies by electronic means. This article will analyze the assessment of our country in the aspect of full online availability and maturity of 20 public services in all editions of the study entitled eGovernment Benchmark Measurement. It’s a comparative study, in which Poland appeared as a new member of EU in 2004. In the period from 2008 to the 2010, Poland has made a significant progress in most indicators of information society (SPI). However, in 2013 our country is still closer to the end than to the middle of the chain of e-government effectiveness in the EU.

    Celem artykułu jest wskazanie problemów, jakie identyfikuje się w komunikacji na styku relacji dział wytwórczy IT – biznes. W pierwszej części artykułu wyjaśniono podstawowe pojęcia związane z badanym zagadnieniem, jak projekt informatyczny, IT i biznes. W drugiej części opisano proces komunikacji w projekcie informatycznym, wykorzystując do tego diagram choreografii. Następnie przytoczono wyniki firmy konsultingowej Deloitte, które wskazują na znaczenie oraz wagę identyfikowanych problemów w komunikacji między tzw. wytwórcą rozwiązań ICT (technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne) a ich rzeczywistym odbiorcą. Wyniki badań skłoniły autorki do podjęcia próby zidentyfikowania przyczyn występowania tego problemu. Toteż w kolejnej części artykułu przedstawiono procedurę badawczą oraz omówiono wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród znaczącej grupy uczestników procesu wytwórczego oprogramowania. Respondentami byli przedstawiciele strony IT i biznesu w liczbie po 50 osób z każdej z grup. Wszyscy respondenci byli uczestnikami około 20 projektów informatycznych z branży finansowej.

    Artykuł przedstawia porównanie oferty wybranych dostawców chmury obliczeniowych pod kątem ich wykorzystania w procesie przygotowywania i wdrażania usług opartych o idee otwartego kodu źródłowego. Przeprowadzone badania dotyczą usług dostarczanych według modelu IaaS w postaci dzierżawy maszyny wirtualnej oraz usług dostarczanych według modelu PaaS w postaci usług baz danych. Zaprezentowana analiza ma charakter tak jakościowy (ocena subiektywna) jak i ilościowy, który polega na szeregu pomiarów parametrów instancji wirtualnych. Na podstawie tej analizy, wybrany został najlepszy dostawca usług w chmurze publicznej dla użytkowników rozpoczynających wykorzystywanie zasobów chmur obliczeniowych.
    The article presents a comparison of the offers of selected cloud computing providers in terms of their use in the process of developing and implementing IT services based on the idea of open source code. The conducted research concerns services provided according to the IaaS model in the form of a virtual machine lease and services provided according to the PaaS model in the form of database services. The presented analysis is both qualitative (subjective assessment) and quantitative, which consists in a series of measurements of the parameters of virtual instances. Based on this analysis, the best public cloud service provider for users starting to use cloud computing resources was selected.

    Only a few of learning aids and simulations of physical phenomena allow for building interactive experiments; experiments similar to those that should be conducted in physics laboratories at schools. Group of staff from Gdansk University of Technology decided to fill this market niche by designing and constructing a set of virtual experiments – so called e-experiments. To avoid common problems that a lot of IT products brought to failure, they prepared procedures in accordance with the best practices of software and requirement engineering. If requirement specification and development process have been preceded by proper and detailed stakeholders’ identification and characteristic, there is a chance that product will be widely accepted. The paper below describes the process of the e-experiments development with the consideration interests of the target group – young people from e-generation (digital generation) and the teachers.
    Na rynku można znaleźć wiele pomocy naukowych i symulacji zjawisk fizycznych – występują one jako samodzielne aplikacje lub jako składnik większych pakietów edukacyjnych. Jednak tylko niektóre z nich umożliwiają budowanie interaktywnych eksperymentów podobnych do tych, które powinny być przeprowadzane w laboratoriach fizycznych w szkołach. Grupa pracowników z Politechniki Gdańskiej postanowiła wypełnić tę niszę na rynku poprzez zaprojektowanie i budowę zestawu wirtualnych eksperymentów - tak zwanych e-doświadczeń. Wytworzenie produktu informatycznego zgodnie z wcześniej opracowanymi procedurami i dobrymi praktykami inżynierii wymagań pozwala na uniknięcie typowych problemów, a następnie na jego wdrożenie. Dopiero wtedy deweloper może się przekonać czy jego rozwiązanie zostało dobrze przyjęte przez jego przyszłych użytkowników. Jeśli proces tworzenia specyfikacji wymagań i implementacja zostały poprzedzone prawidłową i szczegółową identyfikacją oraz charakterystyką udziałowców to jest szansa, że produkt zostanie zaakceptowany. W wystąpieniu opisany zostanie proces tworzenia e-doświadczeń, ze zwróceniem szczególnej uwagi na grupę docelową - młodych ludzi należących do tzw. e-generacji (cyfrowego pokolenia) i nauczycieli, odpowiedzialnych za ich edukację w dziedzinie fizyki.

    Pomiar rozwoju społeczeństwa informacyjnego przez publiczne służby statystyczne jest sprowadzony do monitorowania sytuacji w gospodarstwach domowych oraz zastosowań ICT w przedsiębiorstwach z pominięciem sytuacji w najliczniejszej grupie mikroprzedsiębiorstw. Artykuł stanowi syntetyczną prezentację wykorzystania jako benchmarkingu wyników analizy wybranych 48 mierników stosowanych w krajach OECD i UE w zakresie życia społeczno - gospodarczego i potencjału technologii ICT w przedsiębiorstwach oraz jakościowych aspektów szerokiego spektrum luk informacyjnych i czynników krytycznych rozwoju organizacji gospodarczych. Istotną przyczyną niskiego poziomu zastosowań technologii ICT i rozwoju przedsiębiorstw MMSP jest brak świadomości użyteczności ICT oraz elementarnych metodycznych podstaw kreowania i przygotowywania projektów informatycznych. Przedstawiono istotę sześciu autorskich modeli stanowiących kluczowe, inicjatywne czynniki rozwoju społeczeństwa informacyjnego.
    The measurement of the development of the information society by public statistical services is reduced to monitoring the situation in households and ICT applications in enterprises, disregarding the situation in the largest group of microenterprises. The paper is a synthetic presentation of the use s benchmarking of the results of selected 48 metrics used in OECD and EU countries in the field of socio-economic life and the potential of ICT in enterprises as well as qualitative aspects of a wide range of information gaps and critical factors for business organizations. An important reason for the low level of ICT applications and the development of Polish micro, small and medium enterprises is the lack of awareness of ICT usability and elementary methodological foundations for the creation and preparation of IT projects. The essence of six original models constituting the key, initiative factors for the development of the information society is presented.

    The theory of transaction costs constitutes an important component of the new institutional economy, which, amongst others, explains to a great extent business relations between the suppliers and the clients as part of outsourcing. The aim of this article is to present the results of research concerning the transaction cost theory analysed on the example of IT implementation projects consisting in the implementation of standard ERP, CRM, DMS and BI-class management support systems amongst enterprises based in Poland as part of outsourcing. The article presents both the client’s and the supplier’s perspective. The research results can be interesting for theorists of business informatics and for practitioners implementing IT projects both in enterprises and government agencies with the use of outsourcing.

    Wstąpienie Polski do Unii Europejskiej dało możliwość ubieganie się o wsparcie finansowe m.in. projektów mających na celu wzrost innowacyjności gospodarki. Przestawiono projekty zrealizowane przez KOMAG wraz z partnerami zagranicznymi oraz krajowymi jednostkami naukowymi i przedsiębiorcami, w tym z sektora MSP. Wskazano na możliwości ubiegania się o wsparcie finansowe w 2019 roku bezpośrednio z UE jak i poprzez krajowe instytucje pośredniczące.
    Accession of Poland to the European Union gave the opportunity to apply for financial support, e.g. projects aimed at increasing the innovativeness of the economy. The projects implemented by KOMAG together with foreign partners as well as national scientific entities and entrepreneurs, including the SME sector, were presented. The possibilities of applying for financial support in 2019 directly from the EU and through national intermediate bodies were indicated.

    The article presents the idea and design of the original method and its implementation associated with the valuation of risks in IT projects. This new method is based on the adaptation of the VaR approach. The article shows the issues of risk analysis in software production, the original proposition of risk assessment model of software projects, as well as the verification of the model. The paper takes into account in particular: high volatility of environment, multi-step nature of the activities with the participation of a large number of people, high complexity of project's tasks and the lack of risk validation in methodology for the implementation of IT projects.

    W artykule poświęcono uwagę firmom znajdującym się w fazie rozruchu, zwanym start-up’ami – działającym na rynku nie dłużej niż rok. Przedstawiono etapy tworzenia takich form działalności, szanse i zagrożenia związane z powstaniem nowego biznesu. Podjęto rozważania na temat tego: czy każdy pomysł można przełożyć na dobry produkt? jakie pomysły mają największe szanse na sukces? oraz co decyduje o tym, że pomysł przekształca się w (udany) biznes? Wskazano znaczenie jakości pomysłu w fazie wejścia na rynek oraz dostępność instrumentów (w tym finansowych) wsparcia początkujących przedsiębiorców. Omówiono proces przeobrażenia pomysłu w produkt i zaprezentowano przykłady firm z branży IT, które w ostatnich latach przebyły z sukcesem drogę od koncepcji prowadzenia biznesu do jej realizacji.
    In this article the focus was given on the companies that are in the start-up phase and that have been operating in the market for no longer than one year. Stages of developing such forms of businesses as well as opportunities and risks related with establishing a new business were presented. It was considered whether: every idea can be transformed into a good product? which ideas have the biggest chance for success? and what is the deciding factor that makes an idea a (successful) business? The significance of quality of the idea in the stage of entering the market and availability of instruments (including financial) that support beginning businesses were pointed out. The process of transforming an idea into a product was discussed and examples of companies from the IT sector that in the recent years went through the steps from the concept of running a business to its implementation were presented.

    Warsaw School of Computer Science has launched a multi-annual MOOC project “IT School” to prepare and open on-line a number of popular courses and other materials in the area of “basics of computer knowledge” for students of secondary level. The main objective of the project “IT School” is to popularize basic knowledge of computer technology, to encourage young people to study in the field of Information Technology and thus facilitate the study of the core courses. In the framework of Project twelve online courses was prepared and opened with particular care in preparing self-assessment tests, allowing students to check the level of understanding of the learning material after each course (http://www.it-szkola.edu.pl). The final test assesses student knowledge and its completion allows to receive a certificate. The education technology used for preparing the lectures is explained in this paper in details.

    Projects performed by companies involve a high degree of risks and uncertainty. The essence of the project is a small recurrence and a very high degree of complexity, which makes it impossible to accurately predict all the events and tasks leading up to their final implementation. Continuous improvement actions resulting from drawing conclusions from previously conducted projects is a key condition for the success of the project. It becomes necessary to use IT tools that allow the acquisition, collection and transfer of information and are a foundation for analysis and making right decisions. By using the right tools a company can achieve its objectives in the most effective manner. The paper describes the characteristics of BI tools in application to project activities, as well as the practice of their usage in enterprises.

    Polish-born, Milan-based designer, Dorota Koziara has been active on the international design scene for two decades. Her artistic career has swung between her national roots and the well-established traditions of Italian design. Working alongside the iconic Alessandro Mendini, Koziara gained a brand-new way of self-expression, smoothly intermingling between the two cultures. Her activity covers an outstanding range of projects, she is also the winner of the Third Millennium International Sculpture Competition held in Italy. Her achievements on both Polish and Italian design scenes are a unique example of how fluid contemporary trends based on national heritage can be. In this border-free society, the influences and relations between Polish and Italian design seem to be highly important. After centuries of inspiration and domination by Italian art, today’s scene shows a different approach to multicultural dialogue, the results of which are apparent in Koziara’s works. The article focuses on her achievements in the light of reciprocal Polish-Italian influences.

    Opis:
    In this article we investigate the problem of applying agile practices into safetycritical projects. The goal of our research is to investigate potential benefits from introducing agile practices into safety-critical environment and to present a solution providing for balancing agile approach with more disciplined assurance techniques, bringing the best of the two worlds together. In this article we present the supporting ideas such as assurance argument patterns along with a case study. The case study investigates how software engineers perceive risks associated with the introduction of agile practices and collect their ideas on how these risks could be mitigated.

    Artificial Intelligence (AI) supports project management in industry projects increasingly more often. The article documents research results regarding the use of AI in Industry 4.0 projects. The aim of the article is to define the range of AI use in Industry 4.0 projects throughout their entire life cycle and to indentify the main stages of AI development in project management. Additionally, the article indicates the main barriers to AI use in project management identified in the studied projects. In order to identify and systemise the range of AI use, the Conceptual Framework of Using AI in Project Management presented in literature is applied. Research results indicate that we are in the early stages of AI use in projects. The studied projects use AI mainly in project administration, i.e. to complete the following tasks: simple automation of routine activities, support, and, to a very limited extent, in the area of project management, i.e. in identifying anomalies and predicting the phenomena where the anomalies will occur. The research uses the case study method, where four projects were studied: an ERP system upgrade, an implementation of an IT system supporting high-bay warehouse management, an implementation of an IoT as a data-collection sensor platform and an E-learning platform implementation. The study was conducted between 2019 and 2021, and covered the entire project life cycle, including its three stages, i.e. preparation, implementation and operation.

    The article draws attention to the need for reconstruction of rationalization in Polish enterprises. Described the genesis of the concept of rationalization. It presents the definition of the suggestions for improvement, and describes its classification. It proposed the development of rationalization through the involvement of employees in the reporting of improvements to both the workplace and the entire company. For this purpose presents IT system, which supporting the employee notifications. The basis for the development of the application is an appropriate information system.     The article focuses on the media transformation of literary works. B. Jasieński’s futurist poem Marsz, published in the interwar period in printed form, recently underwent a multimedia adaptation. The author analyzes the mutations the literary text underwent in interpretation and significance when expressed in the new creative forms of contemporary multimedia “language”. The analysis of the formal structure and of several, sometimes small semantic elements, shows the different way of understanding the poem as expressed through new multimedia means. The futurist poem Marsz has been read as an ironical poem, totally contradicting its original literal meaning. The second part of the article examines a digital version of the poem, which again changes its original meaning. At this moment in time, the relationship between the textuality and virtuality of poetry (and literature in general) constitutes the main space where art “happens” and manifests itself. Thus, the discussion over the digital version of Jasieński’s poem leads to some general considerations about contemporary theory of image and its anthropological expressions.

    W artykule, opierając się na przykładzie projektów międzynarodowych BalticMuseums 2.0 i BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus, opisano, w jaki sposób dostępne technologie informatyczne mogą być wykorzystane do wspierania współpracy pomiędzy podmiotami działającymi w różnych kra-jach. W szczególności omówiono rozwiązania informatyczne wspomagające: zarządzanie projek-tem, gromadzenie wiedzy i jej wymianę pomiędzy uczestnikami projektu (platforma wiki), zarzą-dzanie wielojęzyczną treścią, zarządzanie wirtualnymi galeriami, udostępnianie informacji dla użytkowników urządzeń mobilnych oraz zarządzanie współdzielonymi zasobami multime-dialnymi. Omówione technologie informatyczne, z wyjątkiem systemu zarządzania wirtualnymi gale-riami, dostępne są bezpłatnie jako oprogramowanie o otwartym kodzie źródłowym, co oznacza, że zaproponowane tu rozwiązania mogą być zastosowane w innych projektach międzynarodowych, znacząco ułatwiając współpracę instytucji rozrzuconych geograficznie i oddzielonych granicami państwowymi.
    The paper, using BalticMuseums 2.0 and BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus international projects as an example, describes how available information technologies can be used to foster cooperation between partners from different countries. In particular, it describes solutions aiding in: project management, knowledge gathering and exchange (via a wiki platform), managing content in mul-tiple languages, managing virtual galleries, making information accessible for mobile device users, and managing shared multimedia assets. The described information technologies, with the sole exception of the virtual gallery man-agement system, are freely available as open-source software, which means that the solutions proposed here may be applied in other international projects, making the cooperation of institu-tions from various countries considerably easier.

    The article presents the aspects of Communication and Information Systems security principles for classified Information Security Management System implemented within the realization of European Defence Agency research and technology projects. In the content of article, author characterised the rules and procedures, resulting from the legal acts, which regulates IT security procedures of classified information processing, obtained during the realisation of research process. Special attention has been focused on the European Defence Agency projects during which common IT security procedures are very important to provide not only the proper level of secrecy but also to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information processed during the research process.
    W artykule zaprezentowano aspekty organizacji ochrony systemów teleinformatycznych wykorzystywanych w ramach systemu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem informacji niejawnych wytwarzanych, przetwarzanych i przechowywanych dla potrzeb realizacji prac naukowo-badawczych Europejskiej Agencji Obrony. Przedstawiono zasady oraz procedury wynikające z uregulowań prawnych normujących przetwarzanie informacji klauzulowanych w systemach teleinformatycznych. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zachowanie podstawowych cech sytemu ochrony informacji mających na celu zapewnienie poufności, integralności oraz dostępności informacji wytworzonych w trakcie realizacji procesu badawczego.
