Economies are increasingly becoming dependent on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and concerns over sustainability have called for the investigation of the relation between sustainability and ICT. While the majority of the studies in this field have an environmentalist focus in this regard, technical, economical and societal concerns on sustainability have arisen in the last decade. Today, more and more studies are addressing the need for the inclusion of sustainability as a design goal for ICT development and for the systems that rely on ICT. Therefore, the integration of education on sustainability in the curriculum is imperative for current and future generations of professionals to accomplish this goal. In this paper, we propose a curriculum for sustainable ICT along with the expected learning outcomes and components. The course design is based on a multi-faceted approach that embraces different viewpoints on sustainability and aims to increase students’ awareness of the complex nature of sustainability.
Świat w coraz większym stopniu zależy od Teleinformatyki (Information Communication Technology, ICT). Warto zadać pytanie o relację pomiędzy zrównoważonym rozwojem a Teleinformatyką. Większość przeprowadzanych badań koncentruje się na aspektach środowiskowych, kwestie techniczne, ekonomiczne i społeczne pozostają w cieniu. Dziś jednak coraz częściej wyrażany jest postulat wskazujący na konieczność uwzględnienia aspektu zrównoważoności w tworzeniu systemów teleinformatycznych i w podsystemach, które są od nich zależne. Dlatego uwzględnienie w programie nauczania problematyki zrównoważoności stanowi imperatyw dla obecnych i przyszłych profesjonalistów. W tym artykule proponujemy program dla zrównoważonej teleinformatyki, uwzględniający zarys treści programowych i efektów kształcenia. Program oparty jest na wieloaspektowym podejściu, obejmującym różne punkty widzenia, którego celem jest zrozumienie przez studentów złożoności problematyki zrównoważonego rozwoju.

Opis:
Acquisition of digital skills by faculty members is a significantly important step when it comes to integrating ICT in teaching. In light of that, this study aims to describe and analyse faculty members’ training in ICT in all faculties of education within Spanish public universities. The paper hereby presented describes results from 1,145 professors, obtained by an ad hoc online questionnaire. Both data and results have been obtained from one of the instrument dimensions: received teaching training and professors’ perception of their own training. This instrument consists of 25 items. Results show the need for more profound training regarding the optimisation of ICT didactic and pedagogic potential in class, as well as an integrated approach to pedagogy, digital literacy and knowledge.

SMEs in emerging economies face intense competition when they try to attain and maintain proper returns on their efforts and resources, especially in the highly competitive Information Communications Technology (ICT) sector. At the same time, it is increasingly important for them to build long-term, trustworthy partnerships and profitable business networks. Two-block Partial Least Squares analysis based on financial statements and an online survey of 149 ICT service providers revealed negative relationships between trust in public and business stakeholders and profitability ratios. Only trust in large firms shows a positive association with profitability. By better understanding the role of trust in the public and business environment, entrepreneurial ventures are more likely to achieve and sustain competitive advantage.
MŚP w gospodarkach wschodzących stoją w obliczu silnej konkurencji, gdy starają się osiągnąć i utrzymać odpowiedni zwrot z wysiłków i zasobów, zwłaszcza w wysoce konkurencyjnym sektorze technologii komunikacyjnych (ICT). Jednocześnie coraz ważniejsze jest dla nich budowanie długoterminowych, godnych zaufania partnerstw i rentownych sieci biznesowych. Analiza dwóch bloków częściowych najmniejszych kwadratów oparta na sprawozdaniach finansowych oraz ankiecie internetowej 149 dostawców usług ICT ujawniła negatywne relacje między zaufaniem do interesariuszy publicznych i biznesowych a wskaźnikami rentowności. Tylko zaufanie do dużych firm wykazuje pozytywny związek z rentownością. Dzięki lepszemu zrozumieniu roli zaufania w środowisku publicznym i biznesowym przedsiębiorcy mają większe szanse na osiągnięcie i utrzymanie przewagi konkurencyjnej.

Corruption is a social phenomenon that has existed since the beginning in all communities, present in everyday situations, and affects the education system. We reviewed the various aspects of corruption in the Amazon education system basing on domination theory. We looked for factors that facilitate corruption in the education system and harm sustainable development in the Amazon. We have also shown the relationships between domination theory, scientific knowledge degradation, and sustainable development. We have identified some options to fight corruption in the education system to ensure sustainable development in the Amazon. We have implemented a qualitative research project under the Amazon Graduate Program to reach described goals. Our research methods included critical literature analysis, case study, direct observation, and content analysis to describe the literature review concepts. Through the Ishikawa diagram's graphic representation, we highlighted the causes of traditional domination and corruption sub-causes that cause the degradation of scientific knowledge and sustainability in the Amazon. The study concludes that the domination in the education system is similar to traditional domination. Corrupt actions can be decisive for preventing the construction of knowledge about Sustainability in the Amazon. The scenario warns of a crisis in the education system. Our findings allow us to suggest significant actions for coping with curbing corrupt practices and unethical actions in the system. Our Amazonian academy findings help reflect the reality of the managers and politicians sensitized with this investigative work.

Nowadays technologies influence our work and private life and this requires constant changes. It also concerns education. To be well educated you should still act effectively and efficiently using modern technological developments. The development of ICT (Information Communication Technologies) has led to the Internet gaining the status of the main channel of distribution of all information. New processes of distance education (e-learning) are penetrating education, the public sector and businesses. The aim of this paper is to analyse and compare selected e-learning systems using software with the implemented AHP method.
Obecnie technologie informatyczne wpływają na naszą pracę i życie prywatne. Dotyczy to również edukacji, gdzie proces uczenia i nauczania może być skutecznie i wydajnie realizowany przy użyciu nowoczesnych rozwiązań technologicznych. Rozwój ICT (Information Communication Technology) doprowadził do rozwoju Internetu, który zyskuje status głównego kanału dystrybucji wszystkich informacji. Nowe procesy kształcenia na odległość (e-learning) przenikają do edukacji, sektora publicznego oraz firm. Celem niniejszej pracy była analiza i porównanie wybranych systemów e-learningowych. Analizę przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem systemu MakeItRational, który posiada zaimplementowany algorytm wielokryterialnej metody AHP.

The article describes the economic entities’ level of involvement in the information- -telecommunication technologies. It also presents the ranking of Polish voivodeships in terms of usage of the above-mentioned technologies in enterprises, in the year 2009. The article describes the experience of using information technologies in the study section “Numerical Methods and Computer Simulation” in the subject “Informatics and ICT” primary school. The aims and objectives of the study material in this section on basic and core stages of continuous study of computer science. Consider some examples of the use of information technology in the study of educational material theme “Approximate methods for solving equations with one variable”. To illustrate the results of the research function y = f (x) for solving the equation f (x) = 0, and examples of opportunities for Mathcad charting and determine the roots of the equation. Considered VBA code refinement root of the equation f (x) = 0 by bisection of the interval for the table processor MS Excel. The article summarized the results of testing some educational material section “Numerical Methods and Computer Simulation” in the schools of the city of Vladimir. In the study of educational material in this section, students have the opportunity to conduct an experiment using a computer programming systems, spreadsheets, mathematical computer-aided design Mathcad and other computer software, select the appropriate options, analyze dependencies, predict outcomes, to conduct a graphical interpretation of the results. This contributes to a deeper understanding of the essence of numerical methods and their practical value, focuses on the clever use of computer software applications, and enriches the students’ new ways of solving problems.

This quasi-experimental study aimed at looking into the effectiveness of blended learning approach in improving the performance in Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Course of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) first year students at JBLFMU-Arevalo during the second semester of school year 2018-2019. The respondents of this research were the two sections comparable with each other who were enrolled in the subject ICT. There were 40 student respondents composed of 20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group. A validated and reliability-tested 45 item researcher-made multiple choice test was used as an instrument with a Cronbach index of 0.88. The statistical tools used were mean, standard deviation, Mann-Whitney test, and Wilcoxon-Signed ranks test set at .05 level of significance. The effect size was computed to determine the effectiveness of the blended learning approach in terms of students’ performance in ICT. Results showed that in the pretest, though the experimental group had a higher mean score than the control group, the Mann-Whitney test showed that the mean scores of the two groups were comparable because the significant value was greater than .05. When the treatment was introduced, findings showed that there were significant differences in the ICT performance in the pretest and posttest of experimental and control groups as well as in the posttests of both groups. Results inferred that blended learning approach was more than a hundred percent effective showing significant results on the experimental group. It could also be inferred that the better performance of the control group could be attributed to the traditional method of teaching, the lecture method.

L’interaction économique, éducationnelle et culturelle entre les institutions éducationnelles et la vie économique dans différents pays est renforcée. Le contenu et la signification sociopolitiques de ces processus sont ambigus, mais ils suivent la nouvelle institutionnalisation de l’éducation qui est étroitement liée au développement de la société informationnelle.

The growing interest of theorists and practitioners in managing CSR concept is undoubtedly a result of many socio-economic, ethical and environmental challenges faced by modern enterprises. The enormous progress in information technology and telecommunication technology observed over the course of several years has fundamentally changed the functioning of all participants in economic processes, giving rise to the so-called fourth industrial revolution. The aim of this article is to present selected challenges faced by enterprises related to the creation and dissemination of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the context of CSR. In the article the author’s attention was focused on the characteristics of CSR concept and the presentation of positive and negative consequences of ICT solutions applied by enterprises (e.g. Internet of Things – IoT, Big Data). The basis for the discussion presented in the article was domestic and foreign literature studies.

Purpose: Our research attempts to understand a change in social sciences’ academics' teaching practices that can be observed during the COVID pandemic and that are predicted after the pandemic. Design: We investigate – in the light of the Blin’s and Munro’s activity theory (2008) – whether the COVID pandemic is a disruptive factor that may lead to the transformation of social sciences academics’ teaching practices. The research instrument was a worldwide survey conducted among social sciences’ academics. Findings: COVID pandemic has already introduced changes into academics’ teaching practices in a form of broad ICT usage as well as initiated changes in the teaching activities design. Research limitations: The number of responses is limited to 382 with only a collection of 77 responses from outside of Europe. We applied a general approach for ICT means not asking respondents about particular ICT tools. COVID as a pandemic evolves continuously indicating the need for further, in-depth research in this field. Practical implications: COVID pandemic might serve as a disruptive factor enforcing further changes in social sciences’ academic teaching practices after the pandemic. Social implications: Our results indicate that the quality of social sciences teaching has worsened during the pandemic and most of the respondents do not predict significant changes in the quality of teaching after the pandemic compared to the quality of teaching before the pandemic. Originality: We contribute by showing that introduction of a new tool (ICT) and modified teaching activity design resulted in a serious alteration of the teaching practice of social sciences’ academics. We did not confirm that COVID disruption was expansive enough to permanently transform teaching practices of social sciences academics, hence we suggest that obstacles to successful incorporation of ICT in teaching practices are still present. We showed that ICT is predicted to be used more frequently rather than before (when it was only utilised as a platform to transfer traditional material) and will not modify the well-established practices referring to instructional tools. Our study suggests that the relation between teacher and teaching activity design is not mediated by ICT tools, which may result in resistance from the teachers.

The CEFR encourages teachers to resort to task-based activities in the language classroom. However, some resistance has been offered to this approach, due to lack of appropriate training and difficulty in meeting some basic practical conditions, as well as in finding resources and examples of good practices, as shown in a survey conducted within the scope of ETALAGE. PETALL (Pan European Task-based Activities in Language Learning [2013-2016]) seeks to construct a transnational strategy for ICT-based task design management and aims to design tasks that can be implemented in different educational contexts. This paper offers an overview of the internal evaluation procedures to be followed at different levels and stages of the project, and discusses the objectives, underlying principles and criteria applied.

The article presents current threats and examples of malware which can be used to disrupt the infrastructure. Next, a classification of current threats and attacks which occur in cyberspace is proposed. Finally, the publication also presents examples of attacks which disrupted the smooth functioning of networks and systems.
