Opis:
The procedure for determining the frequency-weighted RMS values of vibration accelerations in the case of petrol chainsaws proposes equal time shares of three operation modes of the chainsaw. In order to assess the actual operator’s vibration exposure, it is necessary to precisely determine the above-mentioned shares. In real-life conditions operation of chainsaws is characterized by frequent and significant rotational speed changes depending on the operation mode. Therefore, a prototype of dedicated device for measuring the rotational speed of a chain sprocket was developed. The article presents development requirements, encountered problems and their solutions, the prototype itself and functional test results.

The Hall effect and magnetoresistance were measured in the InAs/GaAs heterostructure at temperatures from 300 K down to 3 K, in a magnetic field range from 0.01 to 1.5 T. The anomalous magnetic field dependence of the Hall coefficient in the InAs/GaAs heterostructure in magnetic fields below 0.1 T was explained as due to an extraordinary Hall effect caused by skew scattering on dislocations.

Opis:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the magnetotransport properties of the $Ge_{0.743}Pb_{0.183}Mn_{0.074}Te$ mixed crystal. The results of magnetization measurements indicated that the compound is a spin-glass-like diluted magnetic semiconductor with critical temperature $T_{SG}$=97.5 K. Nanoclusters in the sample are observed. Both, matrix and clusters are magnetically active. Resistivity as a function of temperature has a minimum at 30 K. Below the minimum a variable-range hopping is observed, while above the minimum a metallic-like behavior occurs. The crystal has high hole concentration, p=6.6×$10^{20}$ $cm^{-3}$, temperature-independent. Magnetoresistance amplitude changes from -0.78 to 1.18% with increase of temperature. In the magnetotransport measurements we observed the anomalous Hall effect with hysteresis loops. Calculated anomalous Hall effect coefficient, $R_{S}$ = 2.0×$10^{6}$ $m^{3}$/C, is temperature independent. The analysis indicates the extrinsic skew scattering mechanism to be the main physical mechanism responsible for anomalous Hall effect in $Ge_{0.743}Pb_{0.183}Mn_{0.074}Te$ alloy.

We consider theoretically the topological contribution to the anomalous Hall effect in narrow-gap IV-VI magnetic semiconductors in which the relativistic terms are relatively large and determine both the non-parabolicity of the energy spectrum and strong spin-orbit interaction. We use the relativistic Dirac model and linear response theory to calculate this contribution. Experimental data on the anomalous Hall effect in these compounds are also presented and discussed.

In order to develop a PM BLDC motor control system, which will be tolerant of selected faults, simulation work was first performed and then verified on a universal test stand. The results were published in earlier works. The next stage of works was the implementation of previously developed algorithms on the target research test stand – in this case, the prototype vehicle. This last stage of the laboratory work has been presented in this article, i.e. it has been presented the results of experimental research related to the reproduction of rotor angle position, used after the detection of a rotor position sensor fault. A new test stand with the laboratory prototype of a vehicle with two PM BLDC motors is presented. A zeroth-order algorithm (ZOA) was used as a fault compensation method. The effectiveness and usefulness of the previously proposed methods have been confirmed.

In the present article, magneto-micropolar nanofluid flow with suction or injection in a porous medium over a stretching sheet for the heat and mass transfer is analyzed numerically. Both Hall and ion-slip effects are considered along with variable thermal diffusivity. The governing partial differential equations are transformed to ordinary differential equations using usual similarity transformations. These coupled non-linear differential equations are solved using the shooting method. Effects of prominent parameter on velocities, temperature and concentration are discussed graphically. Numerical values of skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt number and local Sherwood number are also tabulated and discussed.

The breakdown of the dissipationless conductance in the integer and fractional quantum Hall effect regime is reviewed. The temperature dependence of the critical current and of the critical magnetic field at breakdown bears a striking resemblance to the phase diagram of the phenomenological two-fluid Gorter-Casimir model for superconductivity. In addition, a remarkably simple scaling law exists between different filling factors.

The mean field composite fermion picture successfully predicts low lying states of fractional quantum Hall systems. This success cannot be attributed to a cancellation between the Coulomb and Chern-Simons interactions beyond the mean field and solely depends on the short-range of the Coulomb pseudopotential in the lowest Landau level. The class of pseudopotentials for which the mean field composite fermion picture can be applied is defined. The success or failure of the mean field composite fermion picture in various systems (electrons in excited Landau levels, Laughlin quasiparticles, charged magnetoexcitons) is explained.

The present investigation is concerned with one dimensional problem in a homogeneous, isotropic thermoelastic medium with double porosity structure in the presence of Hall currents subjected to thermomechanical sources. A state space approach has been applied to investigate the problem. As an application of the approach, normal force and thermal source have been taken to illustrate the utility of the approach. The expressions for the components of normal stress, equilibrated stress and the temperature change are obtained in the frequency domain and computed numerically. A numerical simulation is prepared for these quantities. The effect of the Hartmann number is depicted graphically on the resulting quantities for a specific model. Some particular cases of interest are also deduced from the present investigation.

Opis:
In this paper, effect of Hall currents on the thermal instability of couple-stress fluid permeated with dust particles has been considered. Following the linearized stability theory and normal mode analysis, the dispersion relation is obtained. For the case of stationary convection, dust particles and Hall currents are found to have destabilizing effect while couple stresses have stabilizing effect on the system. Magnetic field induced by Hall currents has stabilizing/destabilizing effect under certain conditions. It is found that due to the presence of Hall currents (hence magnetic field), oscillatory modes are produced which were non-existent in their absence.

An unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) heat transfer two-fluid flow of ionized gases through a horizontal channel between parallel non-conducting plates, by taking Hall currents into account is studied. The governing partial differential equations that describe the flow and heat transfer under the adopted conditions are solved for the velocity and temperature distributions by a regular perturbation technique. Profiles for the velocity and temperature distributions as well the rates of heat transfer coefficient are presented graphically, and a parametric study is performed. The results reveal that the combined effects of the Hartmann number, Hall parameter, and the ratios of viscosities, heights, electrical and thermal conductivities have a significant impact on an unsteady MHD heat transfer two-ionized fluid flow characteristics.

An electro-magnetohydrodynamic (EMHD) two fluid flow and heat transfer of ionized gases through a horizontal channel surrounded by non-conducting plates in a rotating framework with Hall currents is investigated. The Hall effect is considered with an assumption that the gases are completely ionized and the strength of the applied transverse magnetic field is strong. The governing equations are solved analytically for the temperature and velocity distributions in two fluid flow regions. The numerical solutions are demonstrated graphically for various physical parameters such the Hartmann number, Hall parameter, rotation parameter, and so on. It was noticed that an increment is either due to the Hall parameter or the rotation parameter reduces the temperature in the two regions.

Opis:
The article deals with theoretical and experimental approaches to electroplastic deformation caused by twinning of metals. The author specifies physical fundamentals of Kinetics regarding the development of twinning caused by the excitation of electronic subsystem of metals. Physical models of new channels for the realization of twinning aroused under conditions of electroplasticity have been discussed. Mechanisms of plasticized influence of a surface electric charge have been defined as well as the contribution of a dynamic pinch-effect in the elastic plastic deformation of metals with the participation of the intrinsic magnetic field of the current. The dynamic pinch effect creates ultrasonic vibration of the lattice system while Kinetics changes and plastic deformation are stimulated increasing the amplitude of the oscillations of rectilinear dislocations and the periodic change in the position of the dislocation loops with an increase in the probability of detachment of dislocations from the stoppers. When deformed above the yield point and due to the pinch effect the intrinsic magnetic field of the current diffuses into the crystal where the diffusion rate depends both on the conductivity of the metal and on the frequency of the current. It is necessary to take into account the physical conditions for the creation of ponderomotive effects in relation to specific technically important materials for the practical use of electroplastic deformation technology, especially when processing metals with pressure.
