The specific duality and asymptotic stability of the positive linear electrical circuits are addressed. The specific duality of positive linear electrical circuits composed of resistances, inductances, capacitances and source voltages is established. 1) The linear electrical circuits are positive if and only if the common branches between meshes with resistances and inductances and meshes with resistances and capacitances contain only source voltages; 2) In linear electrical circuits the interchanges of the inductances by the capacitances and the capacitances by inductances do not change the asymptotic stability of the electrical circuits. The asymptotic stability of the positive and nonpositive electrical circuits is analyzed.

Vector minimization of a relation F valued in an ordered vector space under a constraint A consists in finding x[0] belongs to A, w[0] belongs to Fx[0] such that w[0] is minimal in FA. To a family of vector minimization problems minimize[x belongs to X] F(x, y), y [belongs to] Y, one associates a Lagrange relation [L(x, [xi], y[0]) = union of sets y belongs to Y(F(x, y)-xi(y)+(y[0]))] where [xi] belongs to an arbitrary class [Xi] of mappings. For this type of problem, there exist several notions of solutions. Some useful characterizations of existential solutions are established and, consequently, some necessary conditions of optimality are derived. One result of intermediate duality is proved with the aid of the scalarization theory. Existence theorems for existential solutions are given and a comparison of several exact duality schemes is established, more precisely in the convex case it is shown that the majority of exact duality schemes can be obtained from one result of S. Dolecki and C. Malivert.

The classical Markowitz approach to portfolio selection leads to a biobjective optimization problem where the objectives are the expected return and the variance of a portfolio. In this paper a biobjective dual optimization problem to the Markowitz portfolio optimization problem is introduced and analyzed. For the Markowitz problem and its dual, weak and strong vector duality assertions are derived. The optimality conditions are also verified.

We define a category containing the discrete quantum groups (and hence the discrete groups and the duals of compact groups) and the compact quantum groups (and hence the compact groups and the duals of discrete groups). The dual of an object can be defined within the same category and we have a biduality theorem. This theory extends the duality between compact quantum groups and discrete quantum groups (and hence the one between compact abelian groups and discrete abelian groups). The objects in our category are multiplier Hopf algebras, with invertible antipode, admitting invariant functionals (integrals), satisfying some extra condition (to take care of the non-abelianness of the underlying algebras). If we start with a multiplier Hopf *-algebra with positive invariant functionals, then also the dual is a multiplier Hopf *-algebra with positive invariant functionals. This makes it possible to formulate this duality also within the framework of C*-algebras.

This article intends to characterize the constructive function that the Indeterminate Duality may have played in Plato’s oral teaching. Far from being in itself – as some testimonia seem to suggest – the primary origin of evil, as origin of multiplicity the Indeterminate Duality can be perceived as intrinsically presupposed by Plato’s identification of the source of being with the supreme Good. The notion of good implicates for Plato namely an unconditioned impulse to relationality, which indicates that the supreme Good is to be considered as supreme origin not only of unity, but also of multiplicity (scil. non-unity) and alterity. In the absence of multiplicity and alterity, no real relation, and, therefore, no real manifestation of the Good could in fact take place. As a consequence (and in accord with the suggestions given by Simplicius), the Indeterminate Duality may be considered as source of that original differentiation as well as of that generativity without which the supreme Good would be discordant with its goodness.

Line digraphs can be obtained by sequences of state splittings, a particular kind of operation widely used in symbolic dynamics [12]. Properties of line digraphs inherited from the source have been studied, for instance in [7] Harminc showed that the cardinalities of the sets of kernels and solutions (kernel's dual definition) of a digraph and its line digraph coincide. We extend this for (k,l)-kernels in the context of state splittings and also look at (k,l)-semikernels, k-Grundy functions and their duals.

Let (A,e) and (V,K) be an order-unit space and a base-norm space in spectral duality, as in noncommutative spectral theory of Alfsen and Shultz. Let t be a norm lower semicontinuous trace on A, and let φ be a nonnegative convex function on ℝ. It is shown that the mapping a → t(φ(a)) is convex on A. Moreover, the mapping is shown to be nondecreasing if so is φ. Some other similar statements concerning traces and real-valued functions are also obtained.

The paper presents a number of definitions of variable order difference and discusses duality among some of them. The duality is used to improve the performance of the least squares estimation when applied to variable order difference fractional systems. We study the duals of the spaces $A^{pα}(X)$ of harmonic functions in the unit ball of $ℝ^n$ with values in a Banach space X, belonging to the Bochner $L^p$ space with weight $(1-|x|)^α$, denoted by $L^{pα}(X)$. For 0 < α < p-1 we construct continuous projections onto $A^{pα}(X)$ providing a decomposition $L^{pα}(X) = A^{pα}(X) + M^{pα}(X)$. We discuss the conditions on p, α and X for which $A^{pα}(X)* = A^{qα}(X*)$ and $M^{pα}(X)* = M^{qα}(X*)$, 1/p+1/q = 1. The last equality is equivalent to the Radon-Nikodým property of X*.

There are several classes of decision-making problems that explicitly or implicitly prompt fractional programming problems. Portfolio selection problems, agricultural planning, information transfer, numerical analysis of stochastic processes, and resource allocation problems are just a few examples. The huge number of applications of minimax fractional programming problems inspired us to work on this topic. This paper is concerned with a nondifferentiable minimax fractional programming problem. We study a parametric dual model, corresponding to the primal problem, and derive the sufficient optimality condition for an optimal solution to the considered problem. Further, we obtain the various duality results under (p, r)-ρ-(η, θ)-invexity assumptions. Also, we identify a function lying exclusively in the class of (−1, 1)-ρ-(η, θ)- invex functions but not in the class of (1,−1)-invex functions and convex function already existing in the literature. We have given a non-trivial model of nondifferentiable minimax problem and obtained its optimal solution using optimality results derived in this paper.

Celem szkicu jest charakterystyka paradygmatu dwoistości, stanowiącego „nowego typu złożoność, obecną w konkretnych tekstach ważnych dla teorii i praktyki społecznej” (Witkowski 2013: 44) o źródłach głównie socjologicznych (Merton, Elias). Lech Witkowski stawia tezę, iż pedagogika dzięki temu paradygmatowi „osiągnęła możliwość bycia dyscypliną dojrzałą, która będzie mogła sprostać możliwości dyskursu i badań” (tamże: 64) i ilustruje jego przydatność w pedagogice analizami dorobku ważnych międzywojennych polskich pedagogów. Paradygmat dwoistości nie jest tożsamy z postmodernistycznym relatywizmem moralnym i nie deprecjonuje świata wartości. Może nawet być podstawą etyczności tam, gdzie „istnieje pole oscylacji między wartościami przeciwstawnymi, a mimo to obligującymi (Maliszewski 2013: 41). Szczególnie przydatna może być ta perspektywa w pedeutologii i dydaktyce szkoły wyższej, dzięki wyposażeniu studentów w zdolność dostrzegania i akceptowania ambiwalencji ich przyszłych ról zawodowych jako cechy sytuacji wychowawczych oraz składnika ich kultury intelektualnej.
The aim of the paper is to describe the paradigm of duality being „a new type of complexity, present in specific texts that are important both for theory and social practice” (Witkowski 2013:44) and having mainly social roots (Merton, Elias). Lech Witkowski argues that pedagogy, thanks to the said paradigm, „has become capable of being a mature discipline which will be able to handle discourse and research” (Witkowski 2013: 64) and illustrates its usefulness for pedagogy by analyzing the major achievements of the Polish inter-war pedagogues. The paradigm of duality is not identical with the postmodern moral relativism and does not depreciate the world of values. It may even constitute the core of ethics where „there is a space for oscillation between conflicting and yet obligating values” (Maliszewski, 2013:41). This approach may be particularly useful in pedeutology and academic teaching, since it can provide students with an ability to perceive and accept the ambivalence of their future professional roles as being a feature of educational circumstances and a component of their intellectual culture.

Opis:
Zasad dualizmu jest fundamentalną zasadą rachunkowości. W szerokim znaczeniu rozumiana jest jako równość aktywów i sumy kapitału własnego i zobowiązań. Celem artykułu jest zastosowanie zasady dualizmu w szerokim, makroekonomicznym kontekście. Z punktu widzenia gospodarki zasada dualizmu oznacza równość płacy z wartością wykonanej pracy. Ta fundamentalna zasada rachunkowości może znaleźć zatem z powodzeniem zastosowanie w makroekonomii zapewniając tym samym stabilność systemu gospodarczego w kontekście finansowym i społecznym. Do osiągniecia celu przewodniego konieczne jest właściwe zdefiniowanie pojęć: kapitał, pieniądz oraz wartość, które wywodzą się z rachunkowości pracy. Wnioski z przeprowadzonej analizy mają bardzo ważne znaczenie gospodarcze, gdyż pozawalają na sformułowanie nowej koncepcji naliczania wynagrodzeń za pomocą modelu kapitału ludzkiego oraz nowego modelu gospodarki towarowo-pieniężnej. To w konsekwencji może prowadzić do sformułowania nowych narzędzi polityki gospodarczej państwa.
Duality principle is the most important fundamental principle in accounting. It means in the broad context the equality between assets and the sum of owners’ equity and liabilities. The aim of the paper is to translate this meaning to the macroeconomics. For the economic system the duality principle means the equality between the work performed by the employee and the salary paid. This basic rule can assure the stability in the economic system in the social and economic context. To reach this aim it is essential to introduce the new definitions of capital, money and value, that comes from labourism (economy driven by labour). The motions from the conducted analysis are leading to the new way of computing remunerations and to the new understanding of the money-goods economy.

According to Louis de Broglie, wave-particle duality can imply presence of a single entity also known as wavicle. Hence, instead of the double solution he proposed to explain the duality, I depict the 6D wavicle in a multispatial mathematical entity represented in two 4D quasigeometric heterogeneous structures comprising two paired 3D dual reciprocal spaces, one of which represents the particle and the other the wave that was supposed to guide the particle in his pilot wave theory. The operational nature of the (2⨯4)D = 8D biquaternionic quasigeometric structure of the wavicle is synthesized from twin operations performed over paired 3D homogeneous dual reciprocal spaces, each of which is immersed in a pair of two 4D asymmetrically overlapping heterogeneous quasigeometric (3+1)D = 4D spatial structures.

Debiutancka powieść Zachara Prilepina Patologie to pierwsze pozycja literatury pięknej opisująca wojnę w Czeczenii, przy czym z perspektywy uczestnika wydarzeń. Główny bohater, Jegor Taszewski, to alter ego pisarza. Kompozycja utworu oparta jest na trzech liniach: wspomnieniach protagonisty z dzieciństwa, historii jego związku z ukochaną oraz opisie wydarzeń i przeżyć wojennych. W powieści rysuje się podwójny obraz świata, uzyskany nie tylko dzięki połączeniu obecnych zdarzeń ze reminiscencjami z czasów pokoju jako dwóch części życia jednego człowieka. Mamy tu do czynienia z kontrastem brutalności ze zmysłowością, sacrum  przeplata się z profanum, rozmowy o Bogu mieszają z opisami żołnierskich problemów żołądkowych. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie ambiwalencji świata w powieści, stawiającej w opozycji piękno i brzydotę, śmiech i powagę, życie i śmierć, wielkość i nikczemność.
The first novel by Zakhar Prilepin Pathologies is the first literary work describing the war in Chechnya, written by a participant in the events. The main character, Jegor Taszewski, is the alter ego of the writer. The composition of the book is based on three lines: the memories of the protagonist's childhood, the story of his relationship with his beloved Dasha, and the description of the events and experiences of war. A double image of the world, not only achieved by a combination of current events with reminiscences from the times of peace as two parts of the life of one man, is shown in the novel. We are dealing with a brutal contrast with sensuality, sacred mixes with profane, talks about God adjacent descriptions of soldier diarrhea. This article aims to show the ambivalence of the world in the novel, putting in opposition beauty and ugliness, laughter and seriousness, life and death, greatness and wickedness.

In this paper, we generalize the notion of B-(p, r)-invexity introduced by Antczak in [A class of B-(p; r)-invex functions and mathematical programming, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 286 (2003), 187–206] for scalar optimization problems to the case of a multiobjective variational programming control problem. For such nonconvex vector optimization problems, we prove sufficient optimality conditions under the assumptions that the functions constituting them are B-(p, r)-invex. Further, for the considered multiobjective variational control problem, its dual multiobjective variational control problem in the sense of Mond-Weir is given and several duality results are established under B-(p, r)-invexity.
