Opis:: In this paper, we propose framework for an adaptive handover control architecture (AHCA), which aims at enhancing overall IP handover performance while maximising utilisation of resources in wireless access networks. The IP handover procedures in the AHCA adapt dynamically to network conditions, as well as to a wide range of user profiles and application quality of service (QoS) requirements. To confirm our expectations that the AHCA will bring performance benefits in heterogeneous mobile IP networking environment, we have investigated basic performance characteristics of different handover mechanisms. The preliminary simulation results demonstrate that the AHCA will bring significant performance improvements as compared with non adaptive IP handovers.

Opis:: This paper presents an agent‐based model of banking sector, which includes three kinds of heterogenous agents – households, borrowers and banks. Households provide funds to the banking sector via deposits and are changing their bank of choice stochastically. Borrowers are main source of demand for liquidity in this system, which they utilize for a risky undertaking, that may not succeed, thus defaulting on a loan. And finally banks act as an intermediary between two previous agents and manage their simple balance sheet. Agents interact with each other, establishing a time‐varying equilibrium, that is able to receive an endogenous macroeconomic shock and return to the equilibrium, which may not be in the same place or may exhibit different characteristics depending on type of the shock. The simulation introduces shocks to the three variables, namely minimal reserve ratio, probability of default and capital adequacy ratio. The work also compares drawbacks and advantages of agent‐based models to the commonly used equation‐based models, such as dynamic stochastic general equilibrium models.

Opis:: Lida Gustava Heymann and Anita Augspurg - activists of the first-wave radical German feminist movement - recently became the patrons of contemporary nonheterosexual women in their struggle for women's rights. This choice of patrons is not accidental: for more than 40 years, Anita and Lida Gustava constituted a community of interests, activism, and emotions. But what does this couple, which lived a century ago and never came out of the closet, have in common with the contemporary feminist and lesbian movement? Was this choice unquestionably right? It certainly forces us to ask whether the contemporary feminist-lesbian movement is a new quality or whether it continues attitudes and postulates from a hundred years ago. Augspurg's and Heyman's example (the way their memory is present in the contemporary lesbian movement) is significant. The two figures, their commitment, their influence on the women's and pacifist movement, as well as their attitude towards homosexuality constitute the main themes of this introductory paper.
Lida Gustava Heymann i Anita Augspurg – działaczki radykalnego niemieckiego ruchu kobiecego pierwszej fali – stały się od niedawna patronkami współczesnych kobiet nieheteroseksualnych i ich walki o respektowanie przysługujących im praw. Wybór patronek nie wydaje się przypadkowy, Anita i Lida Gustava przez ponad czterdzieści lat tworzyły wspólnotę interesów i działań oraz stanowiły wspólnotę emocjonalną. Ale co ma para kobiet sprzed stu lat, która według dzisiejszej terminologii ostatecznie "nie wyszła z szafy", do współczesnego ruchu feministycznego i lesbijskiego? Czy wybór patronek był ze wszech miar słuszny? Wybór tej pary zmusza do postawienia pytania, czy współczesny ruch feministyczno-lesbijski jest nową jakością, czy kontinuum postaw i postulatów sprzed stu laty? Przykład Augspurg i Heyman (pamięć o nich oraz sposób jej istnienia we współczesnym ruchu lesbijskim) jest tu najbardziej znamienny. Obie te postacie, ich zaangażowanie i znaczenie dla ruchu kobiecego i pacyfistycznego oraz stosunek do homoseksualizmu, są motywami przewodnimi niniejszego tekstu szkicowego.
