    Celem artykułu jest wykorzystanie astronomicznej metafory konstelacji do badania krytyki literackiej. Wychodząc od kluczowych dla statusu pojęcia „konstelacji” ustaleń Waltera Benjamina, używającego tej metafory do refleksji o badaniu historii, poprzez Adorniańskie korekty sytuujące konstelację w polu badań estetycznych i proponowany przez Renée R. Trilling konstelacyjny model lektury, a także sposoby dotychczasowego wykorzystywania tej metafory w polskich badaniach nad krytyką, niniejszy szkic zmierza do ukazania konstelacji jako sposobu ujmowania krytyki literackiej bez totalizujących, ujednolicających klasyfikacji. Pokazuje, że „konstelacja krytyczna” pozwala na wydobycie jednostkowości dyskursów krytycznych, przy jednoczesnym odsłonięciu ich relacyjności i wielowymiarowego uwikłania w warunki pola literackiego (ze współczesnością ich badacza włącznie). Proponuje konstelacyjny model badania krytyki literackiej.
    This article’s objective is to apply the astronomical metaphor of the constellation to the study of literary critique. Departing from Walter Benjamin’s concepts that have been instrumental to the status of the “constellation” as a concept, and using this metaphor to reflect upon the study of history through Adorno’s revisions that usher the constellation into aesthetic studies, as well as the constellational model of reading proposed by Renée R. Trilling, and historical methods for applying this metaphor to Polish critical studies, this essay attempts to introduce the constellation as a means for grasping literary critique without deferring to totalizing and monolithic classification systems. The article demonstrates that the “critical constellation” allows us to yield a certain autonomy for critical discourses by simultaneously revealing their relativity and their multidimensional entanglements with the conditions of the literary field (including the present moment of the scholar). The article proposes the constellation model for studying literary critique.

    This paper presents a novel low-complexity soft demapping algorithm for two-dimensional non-uniform spaced constellations (2D-NUCs) and massive order one-dimensional NUCs (1D-NUCs). NUCs have been implemented in a wide range of new broadcasting systems to approach the Shannon limit further, such as DVB-NGH, ATSC 3.0 and NGB-W. However, the soft demapping complexity is extreme due to the substantial distance calculations. In the proposed scheme, the demapping process is classified into four cases based on different quadrants. To deal with the complexity problem, four groups of reduced subsets in terms of the quadrant for each bit are separately calculated and stored in advance. Analysis and simulation prove that the proposed demapper only introduces a small penalty under 0.02dB with respect to Max-Log-MAP demapper, whereas a significant complexity reduction ranging from 68.75% to 88.54% is obtained.

Tymczasem historia amerykańskiej Marynarki Wojennej sięga końca XVIII wieku. Pierwszymi przełomowymi wydarzeniami w dziejach amerykańskiej floty wojennej były zwycięstwa nad okrętami francuskimi, które pokazały, że dobrze dowodzony okręt amerykański jest w stanie zmierzyć się na morzu z przeciwnikiem dorównującym mu lub nawet przewyższającym go siłą.
    In the last hundred years the United States Navy was present in almost all regions of the war, taking part in the struggle on seas and oceans during both world wars and almost every post-war era conflict in which the US forces was involved. Meanwhile the US Navy history dates back to the late eighteen century. The first milestones of the history of American military vessels were victories over the French, which showed that the well-led American vessel is able to fight back even the stronger enemy.

    The European Space Agency (ESA) confirmed that it plans to declare an Initial Operational Capability (IOC) once a constellation of 18 satellites is achieved in 2014 and after few Soyuz and Ariane launches Full Operational Capability (FOC) once a constellation of 26 satellites next year or later. In the paper are presented the distribution of the number of satellites visible by the observer and the distribution of GDOP coefficient values both for different masking elevation angles (Hmin) at different observer’s latitudes for three constellations, with 18, 22 and 26 satellites, the distribution of satellite azimuths in open area and the percentage of satellites visible above given angle. Additionally for latitude of Poland (zone 50-60°) No Fix (in per cent) and the detailed distribution of GDOP values for six angles Hmin for all these constellations and the results of other calculations are showed. Finally the results concern the possibility of the positioning and its accuracy for different numbers of Galileo satellites at different observer’s latitudes.

    The article discusses damages of essential tribological associations in crankshaft and piston systems of large power two-stroke engines used as main engines, which take place during transport tasks performed by those ships. Difficulties are named which make preventing those damages impossible, despite the fact that the technical state of engines of this type is identified with the aid of complex diagnostic systems making use of advanced computer technology. It is demonstrated that one of causes of the damages is the lack of research activities oriented on recognising random properties of the loads leading to those damages. A proposal is made for the loads acting at a given time t on tribological associations in crankshaft and piston systems of internal combustion engines used as main engines to be considered as random variables Qt. At the same time the loads examined within a given time interval tr ≤ t ≤ tz would be considered stochastic processes {Q(t): t ≥ 0}. Essential properties of the loads of the abovementioned tribological associations are named and explained by formulating hypotheses which need empirical verification. Interval estimation is proposed for estimating the expected value E(Qt) of the load Qt acting at time t. A relation is indicated between the mechanical load and the thermal load acting on tribological associations in the ship main engine crankshaft and piston system. A suggestion is formulated that a stochastic form of the relation between these types of load is to be searched for, rather than statistic relation, and a proposal is made to measure the intensity (strength) of the stochastic relation using the Czuprow’s convergence coefficient.

    Opis:
    Packing constellations points in higher dimensions, the concept of multidimensional modulation exploits the idea drawn from geometry for searching dense sphere packings in a given dimension, utilising it to minimise the average energy of the underlying constellations. The following work analyses the impact of spherical shaping of the constellations bound instead of the traditional, hyper-cubical bound. Balanced constellation schemes are obtained with the N-dimensional simplex merging algorithm. The performance of constellations of dimensions 2, 4 and 6 is compared to the performance of QAM modulations of equivalent throughputs in the sense of bits transmitted per complex (twodimensional) symbols. The considered constellations give an approximately 0.7 dB to 1 dB gain in terms of BER over a standard QAM modulation.

    As a result of complex and closely-related social, political, economic and technological processes, significant changes are now occurring in the European language situation. While these processes foster participation in the transnational communication community, they also reinforce the linguistic identity, based on their distinction. In view of these contradictory but non-exclusive trends, one should consider the multilingual systems that would better reflect the dynamics of real changes. For this purpose, the concept of lingua receptiva will be presented. Geographical and cultural perspectives are taken into account in this paper. Emphasis is on the space of discursive interculturalism, in which contacts in more or less fixed language constellations constantly take place. Its allocation on the political map of the European continent is not performative, but based on the literature. However, it does illustrate the challenges for the future of European receptive multilingualism.

    Fugro is operating a global GNSS infrastructure for the delivery of high-accuracy multi-constellation Precise Point Positioning (PPP) service, named G4. Precise orbit and clock for all global satellite navigation systems are estimated in real-time and broadcast to the users using geostationary satellites. End-users with a G4-enabled receiver are able to obtain sub-decimeter positioning accuracy in real-time. The system has been tailored for offshore applications where a nearby GNSS station is not always readily available. G4 offers seamless integration of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou in the navigation solution, therefore allowing the user to obtain a reliable and accurate position even in challenging environments, especially in presence of interference, scintillation or partial sky visibility. In addition, carrier-phase integer-ambiguity resolution (IAR) is supported, for those users requiring the highest possible navigation accuracy. This paper presents the G4 system architecture and current performance. The benefits of multi-constellation Precise Point Positioning (PPP) are shown in terms of increased availability, robustness and accuracy.

    This paper firstly analyzes the concept of availability of satellite constellation. Then the method of constellation availability analysis is proposed based on Markov chain model, outage analysis, as well as MTBF and MTTR of satellite constellations. Finally, an illustrative example is presented to demonstrate the method.

    The Qumran fragments of the Song of Songs witness some versions of the poem which are older than the textus receptus. They also show that independent songs have been combined into one composition. Thus Cant. 3, 6-8, missing in 4QCantb, was a description of Solomon's guards on riding horses or camels, for mttw is the suffixed plural of the Arabic and Aramaic noun matiya, designating a riding animal. This passage has been joined to the following poem, starting in Cant. 3, 9 with a description of king's apadana, a colonnaded hall or palace. Its fi rst word, borrowed from Old Persian, has indeed been misspelled as 'prywn. Another poem, missing in 4QCanta, corresponds to Cant. 4, 8 - 5, 1. It is written entirely in Aramaic in 4QCantb and the Hebrew textus receptus still preserves traces of its original language. The Aramaic poem refers to the zodiacal constellation Virgo, called Kalla in Aramaic and requested to show the New Moon of Elul above the Lebanon range: 't mn lbnwn 'b'y, 'Let the sign enter from Lebanon'. The Song of Songs in its fi nal shape, characterized by its dramatic features and love lyrics, was accepted as Scripture because of its presumed Solomonic authorship, and it was highly valuated by Akiba, as its contents was appearing to him as a qds h-qdsym, a play word meaning 'the sanctification of betrothals'.

    Eugen Gomringer’s poetry of the 1950s and ‘60s was strongly rooted in such elements of contemporaneous culture as Swiss concrete painting, the Swiss style of typography, the functional design of the Bauhaus tradition, and the Stuttgart-based modern theories of aesthetics. Some of these practices were the basis on which Gomringer constructed his own poetic means, while others were directly implemented in the layout or cover designs of Gomringer’s poetic books. In this paper the sources of Gomringer’s verse are examined with special reference to the book 33 konstellationen and the mathematical verse construction of one poem, “worte sind schatten,” whose structure proves to be paradoxical, simultaneously complicated yet simple.

US Navy planuje zastąpić okręty LCS wielozadaniowymi fregatami rakietowymi typu FFG-62 Constellation.

    Opis:
    A possibility of utilising the GPS system for navigation and transport are fundamentally dependent on the accuracy in positioning. Two fundamental factors decisive for its value are the values of the User Range Error (URE) and Dilution of Precision (DOP), strictly related to the number of satellites forming the constellation. The nominal constellation of GPS satellites consists of 24 units which gives a possibility of identification of coordinates all over the globe. In the last few years, however, the nominal number of satellites in the constellation was much higher, and the URE value has been constantly increasing. The authors of the paper try to estimate the impact of the changing number of GPS satellites on accuracy of position coordinates with a variable URE value. Mathematical model for estimating geometrical indicators’ value, utilizing data derived from the almanac files has been presented. Following a drawn-up algorithm and calculations made with Mathcad software, the authors carried out a comparative analysis of mean daily values of DOP indicators for a variable number of satellites included in the GPS constellation in the years 2001-2013. Then, the authors have established representative values of Two Distance Root Mean Square Error (2drms) 2D and 3D, and calculated a percentage increase of accuracy in the period under discussion.

    The authors take the text to reflect the personality competences and professional priorities for teachers functioning in the situation of a change, and on the recommendations to development of Polish educational space. The article deals with the assistance of teachers, through which the authors understand the correlation structure of teaching personality with a practical impact on diverse spheres of the student as an individual and as a member of the school community and other social groups. The school next to the family is the principal place of assistance of children in their comprehensive development. The positive experiences in school foster the development of the potential for health, strengthen self-esteem, help overcoming difficulties, help develop life skills – personal and social. In contrast, negative experiences increase the risk of health risk behaviors and disorders in the procedure. Therefore, so it is very important that the school acted efficiently and responsibly in educational tasks, that teachers responsibly in the spirit of the rights and duties treated the students, that school does not become a place with unpleasant experiences and negative feelings for them, but the place of the assistants presence which requires good, which is present in the mature teacher ethos. This article aims to identify the significant components of the ethos of the assistance of teachers that are apparent within the competence of teachers and the competence of the “young Europeans”.
    Autorzy podejmują w tekście refleksję nad kompetencjami osobowościowymi i profesjonalnymi priorytetowymi dla nauczycieli funkcjonujących zawodowo w sytuacji zmiany oraz nad rekomendacjami kierunku rozwoju polskiej przestrzeni edukacyjnej. Artykuł traktuje o asystencji nauczycielskiej, przez którą autorzy rozumieją współzależność struktur nauczycielskiej osobowości z praktycznym oddziaływaniem na wielorakie sfery życia ucznia jako jednostki oraz jako członka społeczeństwa szkolnego i innych grup społecznych. Szkoła obok rodziny jest głównym miejscem asystencji dziecku w jego wszechstronnym rozwoju. Pozytywne doświadczenia szkolne sprzyjają rozwojowi potencjału dla zdrowia, umacniają poczucie własnej wartości, ułatwiają pokonywanie trudności, pomagają rozwijać umiejętności życiowe – osobiste i społeczne. Natomiast doświadczenia negatywne zwiększają ryzyko zachowań zagrażających zdrowiu oraz zaburzeń w postępowaniu. Dlatego tak bardzo ważną sprawą jest, by szkoła pełniła efektywnie i odpowiedzialnie zadania wychowawcze, aby nauczyciele odpowiedzialnie w duchu praw i obowiązków traktowali uczniów, by szkoła nie stawała się dla nich miejscem przykrych doświadczeń i negatywnych uczuć, lecz miejscem asystenckiej obecności wymagającym dobra, które jest obecne w dojrzałym nauczycielskim etosie. Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu wskazanie na istotne elementy składowe etosu asystencji nauczycielskiej, które uwidaczniają się w kompetencjach nauczycieli i kompetencjach „młodych Europejczyków”.

    In this paper, we design a parallel-twin convolutional neural network (PT-CNN) deep learning model and use the signal constellation diagram to realize the identification of six advanced optical modulation formats (QPSK, 4QAM, 8PSK, 8QAM, 16PSK, 16QAM) and signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) estimation. The influence of PT-CNN with different layers and kernel sizes is investigated and the optimal network model is chosen. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method has the advantages of not requiring manual feature extraction, having the ability to clearly distinguish the six modulation formats with 100% accuracy when SNR of the received signal sequences is higher than 12 dB. In addition, the high-accurate SNR estimation is realized simultaneously without increasing additional system complexity.

    Ostatnie dziesięciolecia charakteryzują się wielkim przyspieszeniem cywilizacyjnym. Nie wystarcza już tradycyjna zdolność adaptacyjna społeczeństwa do zamieniających się sytuacji społecznych, gospodarczych i technicznych. W artykule wykazuję, że trzeba podjąć zamierzone oddziaływania edukacyjne, skierowane szczególnie do ludzi dorosłych, którzy nie nadążają za zachodzącymi zmianami. Celem opracowania jest uświadomienie problemu globalizacji jako scalania rynków, kapitału, a także nowej idei i mechanizmów funkcjonowania współpracy z uwzględnieniem wielokulturowości. W tym kontekście ukazuję strategię rozwoju edukacji ze wskazaniem roli nauczyciela.
    The last decades are characterized by a great acceleration of civilization. A traditional adaptability of the society to constantly changing social, economic and technical situations, are not yet sufficient. In this article, I am showing that it is necessary to undertake planned educational influences, directed particularly to adult people who do not follow up with those changes. The aim of this elaboration is to enlighten the problem of globalization as a market’s merge, the chapter of the new idea and mechanisms of cooperation functioning taking into account the multiculturalism, at the same time. In this context the development strategy of the education and showing the role the teacher is presented.

    In this article, I pose the question of the role of academic education in social reality marked by the logic of corporate system, which is a product of neoliberal culture. Herein, I argue that the instrumentalization of the role of both the university and its mission — as woven into a discourse of knowledge society, which constitutes the official interpretation of the EU's position towards the goals of education, including academic education — is accompanied by contemporary practices of subjectification (assujettissment) of students as subjects of academic education. These practices are related to imposed forms of establishing, accomplishing and verifying educational goals in academic education (i.e. learning outcomes) and they lead to construing of submissive forms of identities of students.

    Analizowano geometrię aktualnej konstelacji systemu GNSS (obejmującej 28 aktywnych satelitów GPS) dla obserwatora znajdującego się w porcie Świnoujście. Uwzględniono zakłócenia, jakim ona podlega pod wpływem istniejącej infrastruktury portowej. Określono kąty przesłonięcia w zależności od pozycji statku na torze wodnym i umiejscowienia anteny GPS na statku. Na tej podstawie oceniono dostępność pozycji GPS w porcie Świnoujście. Grupując parametry dostępnych podczas 24 h obserwacji satelitów w czterech głównych sektorach (Pn, W, Pd, Z), przeprowadzono analizę statystyczną wpływu usytuowania satelitów na jakość geometryczną pozycji odbiornika GNSS.
    The paper presents an analysis of the current GNSS constellation geometry (comprising 28 active GPS satellites) performed in the Port of Świnoujście. The geometry disturbances resulting from the harbour infrastructure were taken into consideration and values of mask angles were determined depending on ship's position in the fairway and GPS antenna location. On this basis the availability of GPS position in the Port of Świnoujście was evaluated. The statistical analysis of satellites locations' impact on the geometrical quality of GNSS receiver's position was made after grouping available satellites' parameters into four main sectors (N, E, S, and W).

    Tekst stanowi analizę różnorodnych funkcji i sposobów zastosowania motywów klauna i cyrku w ponad pięćdziesięcioczteroletniej historii Théâtre du Soleil. Klauni przenikali do teatru Ariane Mnouchkine zarówno ze „źródłowych” dla jej sztuki inspiracji teatralnych: form orientalnych, komedii dell'arte i jarmarku, z praktyki pedagogicznej Jacques’a Lecoqa, jak i z przestrzeni – opuszczonego cyrku Montmartre (dawnym Médrano), w którym bezdomny wówczas Théâtre du Soleil umieścił akcję Snu nocy letniej (1968). W kolejnych spektaklach klauni jako elementy konstytutywne świata przedstawionego powracali w dwóch formach: klauna politycznego – w obrazach kabaretu rewolucyjnego w Mefisto (1979) oraz jako swoisty bufor – wprowadzający nowe jakości doświadczeń w poszczególnych ogniwach cyklu szekspirowskiego. Za każdym razem postaci klaunów w spektaklach Théâtre du Soleil w znacznym stopniu poszerzają wymiary świata przedstawionego, ujawniają jego złożoność i nieprzeniknioność, stają się znakiem czystej teatralności i pozwalają wydobyć rozliczne paradoksy dostrzegalne zarówno w perspektywie indywidualnej, społecznej, jak i transcendentnej.
    The article analyses the varied functions and ways of application of the clown and circus motifs in the more than 54-year-long history of the Théâtre du Soleil. Clowns have passed into the theatre of Ariane Mnouchkine from the “sources” of her theatre inspiration: from Oriental forms, commedia dell’arte, and fair spectacles, from the pedagogic practice of Jacques Lecoq as well as from the space of the abandoned Montmartre (former Médano) circus, where the Thèâtre du Soleil, homeless back then, set the action of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1968). In later productions, clowns reappeared as constitutive elements of the world represented on stage in two guises: as jesters in glimpses of the revolutionary cabaret in Mephisto (1979) and as a kind of buffer introducing new qualities of experience in the instalments of the Shakespearean cycle. In each instance, the personages of clowns in performances of the Théâtre du Soleil broaden the dimensions of the world represented on stage; revealing its complexity and opacity, they become signs of pure theatricality and expose to view numerous paradoxes that can be seen at the individual, social, and transcendent level.

    In Christoph Martin Wielands Geschichte des Agathon (Erste Fassung 1766/67) durchlauft der Protagonist einen inneren Reifeprozess, wobei das Verhaltnis innerlicher Erkenntnis im Wechselspiel mit der Objektwelt im Zentrum steht. Der nachfolgende Artikel bringt den Werdegang in Zusammenhang mit der philosophischen Debatte zwischen Idealismus und Realismus sowie der versuchten Versohnung beider Positionen durch Immanuel Kant. Auf dieser Grundlage sollen Agathons zwischenmenschliche Begegnungen von Pytia bis Danae uberpruft wie auch als Gradmesser seiner inneren Reifung betrachtet werden.
    Wieland’s prose work, The History of Agathon (First issue 1766/67), represents a protagonist in his maturity process, which refers to the changing relations between the object world and interior understanding. This article connects the development with the philosophical debate between idealism and realism, which resulted in the attempted reconciliation of both positions by Immanuel Kant. Based on this, Agathon’s interpersonal relationships from Pythia to Danae are examined. The results will be seen as a gauge for his maturity process.

    Artykuł stanowi próbę ukazania heterogenicznego typu zespołu rezydencjonalnego, dominującego w Europie do połowy XVII w. na przykładzie rezydencji księcia pomorskiego Filipa II. Relacja Filipa Hainhofera z 1617 r. (spisana przy okazji dostarczania księciu zamówionego specjalnie kabinetu) jest podstawą do ustalenia sposób funkcjonowania poszczególnych części zespołu i wyznaczanych ceremoniałem i życiem dworu relacji między nimi.
    A residence from the modern era was until the mid-20th century perceived, first of all, from the angle of extensive multi-function palace-and-garden ensembles from the late 17th and the 18th century. However, the research conducted in the last quarter of the 20th and in the first decades of the 21st century verified this vision, since until the mid-17th century in Europe another residence type stemming from the mediaeval tradition functioned. The growing complexity of the court ceremonial beginning in the late Middle Ages and the extension of courts made rulers and their architects face the question of creating an architectural and spatial (not only urban) setting for new court activities; they also had to tackle the significantly more down-to-earth issue of securing infrastructure facilitating the day-to-day functioning of the ruler and his courtiers, stables, store rooms, or arsenals. The solution was sought not only through the extension of the already existing structures, and creating in them zones meant to serve definite tasks, both utilitarian and ceremonial. The process actually started already in the Middle Ages, together with the development of hunting lodges connected with the ruler’s main residence. Around 1600, this type of the residential complex reached the apogee of its development, and complexity at the same time. Later alterations and function changes caused that today the reasons for which particular elements of such complexes were given specific forms and the reasons for their location are being discovered painstakingly. At the turn of the 17th century, a ruler’s residence was composed of many buildings, garden ensembles, and hunting domains (it also included areas serving other functions) which all together created a complex. Its operations were defined by the ceremonial and residential and formal needs of other than the ruler and his closest family dynasty members, as well as by equally important utilitarian issues: location of offices, courtiers’ dwellings, storages, arms storages, etc. The changes which occurred in residential structures from the second half of the 17th century including, first of all, the concentration of functions within a large comprehensively planned palace and park ensemble caused that today it is difficult to reconstruct how the heterogenic residence from the earlier period had operated. The account written down by Philip Hainhofer of Augsburg in 1617 being a report of his six-weeks’ stay at the court of Philip II, Duke of Pomerania, (on the occasion of delivering the largest cabinet ever created to the client) is one of the most important sources allowing to become acquainted with the operation mode of such residences. It is a very special text in view of the status and reality perception of both protagonists: the author and the Duke, also because of their mutual relations. A correspondent of many rulers, providing them with precious (not only political) information, Hainhofer, a middleman between clients and artists, and frequently instigator of the works created, was at the same time a great art connoisseur, consciously and reflexively watching the objects presented to him. For the Duke of Pomerania interested in science and art he was a conversation partner, but also the target of the propaganda actions of the court; a wide range of Hainhofer’s correspondents (in Germany, Italy, and in France) permitted to hope that he was going to spread wide the image of Pomerania as a wealthy country ruled in an enlightened manner. At the same time, Philip II was for Hainhofer the most important client whose favour it was necessary to keep by all means. In effect, a special extended stay programme was prepared for Hainhofer, covering e.g. visits to many parts of the residential complex, taking part in hunting, or meeting with scientists and highly-ranked courtiers. Hainhofer returned the favour to Philip II by means of a panegyric account which, however, was never printed, most likely only because the Duke died unexpectedly the following year. The text, luckily preserved until today and published for the first time already in 1834, is thus an idealizing picture of the court life and the residence, and actually more strictly, of the set of facilities and landscape designs creating a sort of a ‘constellation’ to which the form and the functioning manner of respective elements is assigned by the court ceremonial, but also with the location versus communication routes, hunting domains, and other elements of the complex in mind. Apart from the obvious elements: a castle or an urban palace constituting the main ruler’s residence, a hunting lodge or castle, a suburban villa, namely so-called Lusthaus (pleasure palace, maison de plaisance), such a residential complex included gardens, home farms, as well as vantage points which were excursion destinations, as well as carefully arranged lieux de memoire displaying the oldness and grandeur of the dynasty and its European bonds.

    Artykuł przedstawia korespondencję opata oliwskiego Michała Antoniego Hackiego (ok. 1630–1703) z gdańskim astronomem Janem Heweliuszem (1611–1687), prowadzoną nieregularnie w latach 1654–1686. Omawia obecne w niej zagadnienia, które uzupełniają dotychczasowe ustalenia dotyczące biografii obu korespondentów, w tym m.in. zainteresowania Hackiego muzyką czy przekonanie Heweliusza o niesłuszności stosowania pozycyjnych instrumentów astronomicznych zaopatrzonych w lunety. Ponadto przedstawia nieznane dotychczas okoliczności wyznaczenia gwiazdozbioru Tarczy ku czci Jana III i dedykowania mu książki Heweliusza.
    The article presents the correspondence of Michał Antoni Hacki (ca. 1630– 1703), abbot of the Oliwa monastery, and Johannes Hevelius (1611–1687), astronomer from Gdańsk, which was conducted irregularly between 1654 and 1686. The article discusses elements of the correspondence that supplement the present findings about biographies of both correspondents, including e.g. Hacki’s interests in music and Hevelius’s belief that positional astronomical instruments with telescopes should not be used. Moreover, it presents hitherto unknown circumstances of introducing the constellation of Scutum to honor the King John III and of dedicating to him a book by Hevelius.
