    The presented article focuses on analyzing children's ability to form a concept of war with relation to personality traits based on Five Factor Model. We present the preliminary study on ten selected children age 11-12 from one school situated close to the military area (NATO base in Orzysz, Poland). Children were asked to write a story about war and their stories were analyzed qualitatively by pedagogists from linguistic perspective and by psychologists from personality traits perspective. The study enables us to compare dominant categories in children's narratives with their dominant personality traits.
    W prezentowanym artykule skupiono się na analizie zdolności dzieci do formułowania koncepcji wojny z uwaględnieniem ich cech osobowości w rozumieniu modelu pięcioczynnikowego. Przedstawiono wstępne badanie na dziesięciu wybranych dzieciach w wieku 11-12 lat z jednej szkoły położonej w pobliżu obszaru wojskowego (baza NATO Orzysz, Polska). Dzieci zostały poproszone o napisanie opowiadania o wojnie, a ich historie zostały przeanalizowane jakościowo przez pedagogów z perspektywy językowej oraz przez psychologów z perspektywy cech osobowości. Badanie umożliwia opisanie relacji między dominującymi kategoriami w narracjach dziecięcych a ich dominującymi cechami osobowości.

    Psychology well-describes the theoretical and philosophical underpinnings of human well-being. Within the construct of well-being, psychologists distinguish eudemonic positive affect and hedonic positive affect, although they are not only nor mutually exclusive approaches. Empirical findings have documented a correlation between the general positive affect and favourable health outcomes. Recent discoveries also show a biological pattern, which underlines the correlation. Thanks to describing conserved transcriptional response to adversity (CTRA) mechanism, a new direction of research which explores a relationship between profile of gene expression in immune cells and positive affect, is emerging.

    Opis:
    Current trends in modernization and miniaturization of ferroprobe sensors lead to replacement of amorphous ribbon cores with magnetic microwires. The miniaturization often causes degradation in the parameters of sensors, so, considering measurement of weak magnetic fields, it is necessary to explore noise parameters, temperature drift and stability of the magnetometer output value. The article deals with analysis of microwire sensor noise characteristics based on the experimental data processing. Using one second periodograms, the linear spectral density was processed. Obtained data are compared with corresponding parameters of a relax-type ferroprobe magnetometer.

    We report on the development of new generation of magnetic relaxation sensors based on soft magnetic melt-spun ribbons with the composition $Fe_{63}Co_{21}B_{15}Cu$. The as-quenched amorphous alloy was subjected to thermomagnetic heat treatment in order to obtain sensor cores with optimized magnetic properties. The relaxation characteristics obtained for these cores by employing upgraded sensor electronics were compared to those based on the model simulations using Matlab-Simulink environment. The operational field range of new developed sensor core reached 300 μT within the frequency band 0-500 Hz, i.e. it is markedly extended as compared to the currently used cores based on the commercial VAC 25X material while keeping the similar sensitivity.

    Opis:
    The main aim of this work was to examine the selected mechanical and thermo-mechanical properties of natural rubber/silica composites prepared using glycolysate as a plasticizer. Prepared composites contained different amounts of submicron- (10, 15, 20 or 25 pphr) or nano-particles (0.5, 0.75, 1.0 or 1.25 pphr). The tensile properties, tear resistance, hardness, abrasion resistance and resilience of prepared materials were determined. In addition, the thermo-mechanical properties (by Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis) were determined for the samples characterized by the highest content of particulate filler. All results were compared with properties of reference samples (without silica particles).
    Celem niniejszej pracy było zbadanie wybranych właściwości mechanicznych oraz termomechanicznych kompozytów na osnowie kauczuku naturalnego, otrzymanych z użyciem glikolizatu poliuretanowego jako plastyfikatora. Kompozyty zawierały różne ilości submikronowej krzemionki (10, 15, 20 i 25 cz. mas. napełniacza na 100 cz. mas. kauczuku naturalnego) lub nanokrzemionki (0,5, 0,75, 1,0 i 1,25 cz. mas. napełniacza na 100 cz. mas. kauczuku naturalnego). Zbadano właściwości próbek wulkanizatów w statycznej próbie rozciągania, wytrzymałość na rozdzieranie, twardość, odbojność oraz ścieralność. Ponadto metodą DMA określono właściwości termomechaniczne kompozytów zawierających największą ilość napełniaczy. Otrzymane wyniki porównano z wynikami uzyskanymi dla wulkanizatu referencyjnego niezawierającego napełniaczy krzemionkowych.

    This paper deals with investigation of hard milled surface as a surface undergoing severe plastic deformation at elevated temperatures. This surface exhibits quite remarkable magnetic anisotropy (expressed in term of the Barkhausen noise) and differs from ground surfaces. The main reason can be viewed in specific structure and the corresponding domains configuration formed during rapid cooling following after surface heating. Domains are not randomly but preferentially oriented in the direction of the cutting speed at the expense of feed direction. The Barkhausen noise signals (measured in two perpendicular directions such as cutting speed and feed direction) indicate that the mechanism of the Bloch wall motion during cyclic magnetization in hard milled surfaces differ from surfaces produced by grinding cycles or the raw surface after heat treatment.

    This paper deals with the stress and temperature induced microstructure transformations in a soft bearing steel 100Cr6 after turning operation. Investigation is carried out through a technique based on Barkhausen effect. Evaluation of surface integrity via structure transformations, X-ray diffraction as well as microhardness inspection is carried out as well. Surface integrity is investigated with the respect to the variable tool wears and consequent mechanical and thermal loads applied on the inspected surfaces. Different surface microstructures caused by the mechanical and associated thermal aspects of the surface formation are discussed and correlated with the parameters obtained from the measured Barkhausen emissions.

    The article is focused on psychological functioning of divorcing parents and their parental attitudes. Sex differences were also analyzed. Psychological functioning was assess by previously introduced measure (Błażek et al., 2012). Parental Attitudes Scale by Plopa (2008) and Questionnaire of Parental Attitudes by Ziemska (1982) were used to assess parental attitudes. 180 divorcing parents participated in the study (90 married couples). The results of the study show that there are sex differences concerning psychological features such as loneliness and parental attitudes such as dominating the child, parental helplessness and concentration on a child. Better educated parents presented more positive psychological and parental functioning during divorce process. Dimensions of parental attitudes were also associated with measured features of psychological functioning in the groups of mothers and fathers. The results lead to the conclusion that divorcing parents reveal psychological problems associated with lower quality parenting.

    W prezentowanym artykule opisano związek między trójwymiarowym modelem empatii a postawami wobec przemocy. W badaniach wzięło udział 575 osób (356 kobiet i 199 mężczyzn). Uczestnicy badania wypełniali trzy kwestionariusze: Kwestionariusz postaw wobec przemocy, Kwestionariusz postaw wobec przemocy w bliskich związkach oraz Skalę Wrażliwości Empatycznej (SWE) mierzącą: przyjmowanie perspektywy, empatyczną troskę i osobistą przykrość. Wyniki badania wskazują na istnienie związku miedzy empatią a postawami wobec przemocy, przy czym Przyjmowanie Perspektywy i Empatyczna Troska są skorelowane ujemnie ze ogólnym wynikiem skal postaw wobec przemocy, zaś Osobista Przykrość dodatnio. Badania wskazują też na istnienie różnic płciowych – skłonność mężczyzn do przyjmowania cudzej perspektywy zdaje się silniej korelować z ich postawami wobec przemocy w życiu społecznym niż to ma miejsce wśród kobiet. Przeprowadzone badanie pozwala sądzić, że trójwymiarowy model empatii może pogłębić naszą wiedzę o postawach wobec przemocy w szerszym kontekście społecznym i w bliskich związkach.
    The attitudes towards violence were examined in the context of three-demensional model of empathy. In the presented study participated 575 persons (356 women and 199 men). The participants filled out three questionnaires: Attitudes Toward Violence Questionnaire, Attitudes Toward Intimate Partner Violence Questionnaire, and Emphatic Sensitiveness Scale (SWE) to measure three dimensions of empathy: perspective taking, emphatic concern, and personal distress. The results of the study implicate that empathy is associated with attitudes towards violence in general, as well as in the intimate relationship. Perspective taking and empathic concern were negatively associated with the general results in the attitudes towards violence questionnaires, while personal distress was associated positively. Moreover, the results indicate sex differences – in the group of men perspective taking and empathy are higher correlated. Our findings prove that a multidimensional approach to empathy has a potential to broader our understanding of attitudes towards violence.

    Although the dissidents of the Soviet Bloc declared their mutual solidarity in a number of proclamations, their real personal contacts were at the minimum due to the limited occasions to travel. Relations of the leaders of the Charter 77 and the Workers’ Defence Committee “KOR” were a certain exception. They managed to organize famous meetings at the Czechoslovak-Polish border already in 1987. A remarkable systematic cooperation was set up in the late 80’s and many personal meetings took place at “the green border”, not only in Karkonosze but also in Tatry, Jeseniky or Beskidy. Only a few of these meetings had any political meaning – many famous personalities used to meet there, public proclamations were published and many photographs of the participants were taken at the border stones and marks. Most of the other meetings happened in purpose to smuggle various samizdat materials and to prepare cooperative pressure actions. To the main organizers belonged young Poles from Wrocław who had already kept the contacts with Prague Charter 77 signatories from the early 80’s. Nowadays it is possible for the first time to use a wider range of the State Security (StB) archive funds for historic research related to these events. Czechoslovak secret police made huge impacts into life of regime opponents – they checked their correspondence, bugged their phone calls and flats and made their everyday life very difficult by all kinds of “arrangements for disintegration”. For monitoring and regulation of dissidents’ activities they also used a number of secret collaborators who outwardly presented themselves as regime opponents. One of them was a Czech language tutor at the Wrocław and Katowice Universities Stanislav Dvorák who used to operate as a main “connection” of Wroclaw’s Polish-Czechoslovak Solidarity and Prague Charter 77 signatories in a first half of 80’s. For the first time he collaborated with the secret police in 1981–1984 as counterintelligence agent under a codename “Michal”, for the second time in 1989–1990 when as a ideal collaborator (“ideovy spolupracovník”) of StB he chose his codename “Jilemský”. The secret police by mean of him controlled and influenced the relations of Polish and Czech dissidents for several years. The real image of Stanislav Dvořák was fully disclosed to his friends from opposition first in 2003 when author of this study gained an access to both files of “Michal” and “Jilemský” kept by secret police in 80’s. The subject of these files together with memories of witnesses makes the major base of this study.
