The article presents a legal analysis of regulations dealing with ownership transformation in Poland in the period 1990–2014. The paper also makes reference to the social and economic conditions at the time, which influenced the character of the first regulation for state-owned enterprises and subsequent evolution of the Polish legal framework for ownership transformations. The author underlines frequent changes to the laws which resulted from the necessity to reach privatizations goals as set by the Minister of the State Treasury.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza dogmatycznoprawna obowiązujących przepisów regulujących problematykę przekształceń własnościowych w Polsce w latach 1990–2014. Merytoryczny zakres badań odnosi się także do uwarunkowań społeczno- gospodarczych, które miały wpływ na kształt pierwszej regulacji dotyczącej przedsiębiorstw państwowych, a następnie ewolucję ustawodawstwa regulującego przekształcenia własnościowe. Autorka zwraca uwagę na dużą dynamikę przepisów, która wiązała się z koniecznością osiągnięcia przez ustawodawcę celów prywatyzacyjnych określonych przez Ministra Skarbu Państwa.

In the paper, we emphasize the idea of radical changes in contemporary medicine that have occurred as a result of the unprecedented development of scientific and technological progress. There is a growing need to analyse the current state and problems in the field of medicine, to consider its new goals and perspectives with an emphasis on the ethical dimension. From a wide range of questions and problems of contemporary medicine, we examine the ethical aspects of the patient's autonomy, commercialization of medicine and personalized medicine. We point out that applied occupational ethics in this field also provides a strategy for cultivating professional responsibility for doctors (healthcare professionals).

This paper is based on the first analysis of the 25 narrative interviews collected from March to November 2018 in small local communities in the Lower Silesia Region. All narrators belong to the families that were transferred from the former Yugoslavia in 1946 to the western lands which were incorporated to Poland. The socio-cultural conditions are significant for local development, so I present some features of localism after 1989 when the state transformation processes started. Next, I discuss the narrators’ self-identity dilemmas and make an attempt to conceptualize “migrating biography” as one of the features of living in a postmodern world. The aim of the whole project, but not described in this article, is to reveal the intergenerational adult learning processes seen from the insider’s perspective, as well as to describe such lives in a psychosocial and cultural context.

The article attempts to assess the impact of the strategy for industrial companies on the spatial structure of Pomeranian industry. Strategies are analyzed on the level of labour resources, production and location decisions. In order to avoid formal difficulties and testing of new methodological solutions, the selected strategies were characterized on the basis of the metaphorical approach. Surveys conducted among industrial companies of the Pomorskie voivodship, using the above-mentioned method, tend to the general conclusion that the forms of behaviour in the tested businesses regardless of their volatility, have an influence on the spatial structure of Pomeranian industry, however its scale, scope and direction have not yet been fully identified.

The paper deals with the theoretical basis, methods and the main results of the investigations of the river system structure (the network of rivers of different orders) transformation. On the basis of a morphometrical analysis of topographical maps from different periods (1855, 1935, 1975, 2005) in the 1:100 000 scale, using the Strahler-Filosofov classification scheme, the structure of representative river systems of Ukrainian Carpathians was investigated. The partial and the total length and number of the streams of every order as well as the correlation between these parameters and bifurcation coefficients were determined. The trends and scales of the river systems structure transformation for the period 1855-2005 were also evaluated. Subject to investigation were the river systems of NE macroslopes of the Carpathlian Mountains.

The article analyzes the most important phenomena and processes occurring in the Polish labour market during the first years of the systemic transformation in Poland. The analysis with the presentation of selected aspects of systemic transformation processes taking place in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The authors present the main problems (effects) and achievements of the period, when economic transformation was initiated and implemented, and show the common and individual characteristics of the situation in particular in this region. Namely, all these countries witnessed: (1) much smaller cuts in employment than in production; (2) significant drop in economic activity rates; (3) growth of long-term unemployment; and (4) increasing number of population living in poverty. Most attention, which is naturally a result of the analyzed subject, was devoted to the headway made in systemic transformation processes in Poland and their implications for the domestic labour market. Moreover, there are discussed the determinants of transformations including: a deep economic crisis, new institutional and instrumental solutions, current economic policy, external determinants and, in particular, the collapse o f trade contacts with the post-socialist countries and economic consequences of political and social factors of the real socialism period. The programme of changes commonly known as the Balcerowicz Programme was oriented at systemic changes (deregularion, liberalization and privatization) and at stabilization of the economy (fight against inflation). Its implementation was based on the set of goals, among which the following sub-sets can be distinguished: (1) strategic goals; (2) operational goals, and (3) structural goals.

Poland’s accession to the EU exponentially increased the mobility of its citizens and changed the geography of Polish migration to Western Europe. Poles go abroad to improve their livelihoods: to work, earn competitive wages, and to study. Post-accession migrants hail mainly from small communities. The paper is based on empirical research in a small community of Wronka in the West Pomeranian Voivodship. The goal of this case study was to reconstruct the history of labour mobility of Wronka’s residents, identify migration paths of their families, and analyse the effects of labour migration on the sending community. Departing from the customary analytical lens, this study analyses Polish mobility from the point of view of the sending, not the destination community. In the context of Wronka, mobility has become the norm in this previously immobile community centred around the state-owned farm, and appears to be a strategy used to cope with social, economic, and political change.

W procesie wkraczania w informacyjną fazę rozwoju coraz bardziej zaznaczać się będą nowe tendencje w zakresie zmian struktur zawodowych, społecznych i kulturowych. Będą one konsekwencją nasilających się procesów automatyzacji i robotyzacji w działalności produkcyjnej, usługowej i zarządzaniu. Wpłynie to na stopniowe ograniczanie rozmiarów zatrudnienia i likwidację wielu zawodów. Równocześnie pojawiać się będzie coraz większe zapotrzebowanie na kadry o nowych umiejętnościach zawodowych (technicznych, organizacyjnych, zarządzania) oraz rozwiązywania pojawiających się nowych problemów społecznych i kulturowych. Wpływa to na rosnącą rolę edukacji m.in. w zakresie przedsiębiorczości oraz przygotowywania poszczególnych osób i społeczeństwa do nowych wyzwań cywilizacyjnych. Towarzyszy temu pojawianie się nowych przesłanek i tendencji rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego i kulturowego oraz konieczność działań na rzecz przyspieszania procesów rozwojowych, które omówiono w artykule. W końcowej jego części przedstawiono opinie przedsiębiorców dotyczące funkcjonowania firm.
Upon entering into the information phase of development, new trends in changing professional and social structures and cultural habits will become more and more prominent. They will be a consequence of the increasing automation and robotisation processes in production, service and management activities. This will lead to a gradual reduction in the size of employment and abolition of many professions. At the same time, there will be an increasing demand for staff with new professional skills (technical, organisational, management) and solving of new social and cultural problems. This affects the increasing role of education, among others in the field of entrepreneurship, and preparing individuals and society for new civilization challenges. This is accompanied by the emergence of new premises and tendencies of socio-economic and cultural development, and the need to act to accelerate development processes that have been discussed in the article. The final part presents the opinions of entrepreneurs regarding the functioning of companies.

The article analyzes the attitude of the Polish society to nuclear energy as an important energy source in the future and emphasizes the social dimension of the processes, by relating them to the sociology of energy. The attitude to nuclear energy is presented in comparison to other conventional and non-renewable energy sources, such as coal, oil or gas as well as renewable energy sources (RES) obtained from the sun, air or water. The ways of thinking and fears of the Polish society towards nuclear energy are presented in relation to the processes of energy transformation in Poland. The author indicates the main assumptions of the energy transformation and presents social ideas about the future of the energy sector in Poland. In the empirical dimension, the article concerns the sphere of social awareness and uses the results of surveys conducted by the Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS) in the period from 1987 to 2021.

Цей поділ є причиною того, що Україна знаходиться на стику інтересів Росії та Західної Європи. 4. У її історичному розвитку з великою силою проявлялися інтеграційні і дезінтеграційні процеси, засновані на європейських цінностях. 5. У зовнішньому сприйнятті, в тому числі польському, Україна представляється областю культурно-цивілізаційної нерозвиненості; в ситуації глибоких політичних змін, що мають місце як в Росії, так і в Європі, робляться спроби втручання в її політичне життя, а також спроба нав’язати їй чужорідні моделі культурно-цивілізаційного розвитку.
Author put emphasis in the article on the following facts: 1. Ukraine suffered in the past from the constant wars, uprisings, political terror and various political intrigues; 2. It’s identity is ripped by cultural and civilizational cleavage and divided between West and East; 3. Cultural and civilizational cleavage opens the way to the rivalry between Russia and Western Europe; 4. Its historical development shows tendencies of integration and disintegration based on European values; 5. External observers, including Polish ones, are prone to perceive Ukraine as an area of cultural and civilizational backwardness, that stimulates many foreign actors to openly interfere with its internal affairs and impose Ukrainians alien patterns of cultural and civilizational activity.
В работе автор указывает на то, что: 1. Украина на протяжении своей истории переживала неустанные войны, восстания, политический террор, а также множественные политические интриги. 2. В самоидентификации Украины можно отметить разделение на восточное и западное культурно-цивилизационное пространство. 3. Это разделение является причиной того, что Украина находится на стыке интересов России и Западной Европы. 4. В ее историческом развитии с большой силой проявлялись интеграционные и дезинтеграционные процессы, основанные на европейских ценностях. 5. Во внешнем восприятии, в том числе польском, Украина представляется областью культурно-цивилизационной неразвитости; в ситуации глубоких политических перемен, имеющих место как в России, так и в Европе, предпринимаются попытки вмешательства в ее политическую жизнь, а также попытка навязать ей чужеродные модели культурно-цивилизационного развития.

Introduction and Objectives. One of the features of systemic transformation are its social costs. This is also the case with the Polish transformation initiated in 1989. Social processes connected with it are a kind of accelerator which increases the range of health needs realized outside the medical system. Utilization of non-medical healing methods may also be perceived as a way of coping with negative, i.e. sociopsychological consequences of transformation, including the fact that many people’s health needs were not met within institutional medicine. Such a situation results in a deepening of social inequalities in health. This problem will be presented from the perspective of ‘ordinary people’ in accordance with the leading research directive in medical sociology. Following the directives of humanistic sociology, the sources of information on the subject were personal documents. Materials and Methods. The paper presents selected results of the sociological qualitative analysis of 1,311 letters received by the editorial section of public Polish Television’s Channel Two in 1991 in connection with the broadcasting of a series of programmes conducted by the unconventional therapist Anatoly M. Kashpirovsky, who had a viewership of eight to nine million, on average. The presented and commented-on material consists of spectators’ statements on the adverse consequences of the systemic transformation, concerning health and illness. Results. The post-1989 political-system transformation is the most thorough-going social change in post-war Poland. It triggered off a number of both positive and negative processes. The negative ones include the deepening of social inequalities in health as a result of, inter alia, the progressive pauperization of society and also the growing utilization of non-medical healing methods. The negative effects of transformations are especially felt by typical ‘clients’ of Anatoly M. Kashpirovsky: poorly educated, indigent, residents of villages and small Polish towns: ‘the transformation process losers’. Conclusions. Systematic sociological knowledge on the ways of description and interpretation of health and illness by ‘lay people’ enables a more complete understanding of phenomena related to inequalities in health, including their social and structural causes.

By reading, viewing and discussing graphically narrated stories, children developed plays out of pictures and texts. These approaches shall be deepened in the context of an intervention study: in a project-week at a primary school, Anke Kuhl’s comic style novel Lehmriese lebt! [Clay Giant’s Alive!] (2015) will be scenically staged in a live audio-play. In this story, two children unintentionally create a Golem during a game. The Golem’s quest for orienting itself brings about chaos. Finally, its creators can prevent a catastrophe by giving the Golem the right task: to play with them. Reading and playing the comic style novel shall bring narrative resources of the respective art form to the children’s attention, but also change and widen perspectives on the story. The question emerges: how do waves of literary learning become visible in the soundtrack development and implementation of Lehmriese lebt! [Clay Giant’s Alive!]? Therefore focus lies on the children’s imagination, their subjective involvement and their perception of language and pictures in the comic style novel. The scenic development and conversation about it will be audio- and video-recorded. Based on this data, observation protocols and transcripts will be written in order to enable the analysis of verbal and non-verbal expressions. Transformation processes in a multimodal literary context will be explored from two different angles: transformation of the story (written language and pictures are transformed into spoken language and sounds) as well as the liminal experience of the children in the play. The reason for choosing Lehmriese lebt! [Clay Giant’s Alive!] is the Golem-motif, whose core aspects are transformation processes and animation from inanimate materials.

The paper contains deliberations on the entries in a two-volume dictionary Skrzydlatesłowa edited by H. Markiewicz and A. Romanowski marked as Tuwim’s wingedexpressions. The purpose of the analysis is to determine, whether all the entries includedin the lexicon meet the criteria for winged words and to recreate the mechanisms that ledto the transformation of Tuwim’s quotations into winged words. The research has shownthat only a limited number of entries included in the analysed dictionary constitutes Tuwim’swinged words, while the remaining examples are widely known quotations fromhis works that are not considered to be language units. However the data included inthe dictionary edited by Markiewicz and Romanowski has made it possible to examinethe processes of transformation from quotations into winged words. The processes werefrequently accompanied by the exclusion of components that are superfluous from theperspective of communication and less frequently – by the modification of the prototypes’meaning. Other secondary sources in relation to Tuwim’s texts have also contributed tothe transformation of Tuwim’s quotations into winged words. Tuwim’s quotations that“have taken wings”, especially the ones that are most productive in modern Polish, aresubject to further transformations.

The aim of the paper is to analyze the changing role of industry in the Polish economy in the period of economic transformation and European integration based on its share of the employment structure and gross valued added, to determine changes in the spatial structure of Polish industry in the regions (voivodships) and changes in the divisions structure of Polish industry as an expression of restructuring processes. The paper also reviews changes in labour productivity in industry by voidodships, as an expression of modernity of industry and regional competitiveness in attracting industrial investment. The analysis of the similarity of divisions structures of industries in Poland in relation to other EU countries led to the conclusion that this structure increasingly becomes similar to most developed European countries.
