    Applying external scientific knowledge - i.e. knowledge achieved in the field of disciplines and sub-disciplines related to political science - in fulfiling such methodological functions as explanation and prevision (forecasting) is frequently approached in meta-scientific and meta-theoretical considerations as conducted on the ground of the family of scientific disciplines constituted by the sciences of politics. These functions can be ascribed to the purely epistemological aspect of scientific activity, not its institutional and organizational aspects. The dispute regarding the explanatory autonomy of political science is fallacious. From the logical and methodological point of view, the institutional “affiliation” of object knowledge, which constitutes a premise in complex inferences, does not play a role in the fulfilment of the assumed cognitive tasks; what is important instead is its epistemological credibility, as well as the goals of the research strategy selected by a given scholar.

    Opis:
    Artykuł dotyczy wykorzystania źródeł w badaniach politologicznych, oceny ich przydatności, interpretacji m.in. w aspekcie krytyki wewnętrznej i zewnętrznej. Oprócz klasycznych źródeł: dokumentalnych, akt parlamentu, sądowych, administracyjnych, wojskowych, partii politycznych i ruchów społecznych wykorzystuje się inne źródła. Przykładowo źródła narracyjne: dzienniki, kroniki, pamiętniki, wspomnienia, autobiografie oraz źródła epistolarne. Dokumenty te wzajemnie się uzupełniają i należy je badać pod kątem pochodzenia, autentyczności, wiarygodności. Krytyka źródeł ma na celu m.in. wyeliminowanie dokumentów nieprzydatnych o wątpliwej wartości. W XXI w. znaczącą rolę w badaniach odgrywają źródła internetowe: blogi, vlogi, wpisy na Twitterze, Facebooku, dokumenty audiowizualne o różnym poziomie ogólności i uszczegółowienia. Ich wiarygodność i użyteczność uzależniona jest od czynności krytycznych i wykazania przydatności w badaniach.
    The article concerns using sources in political science research, assessment of their usefulness and inter alia interpretation in the aspect of internal and external critique. Apart from classic sources: documents, Parliament, court, administrative and military records as well as political parties and social movements, there are other sources that are used. For instance, narrative sources, diaries, journals, memoirs, memories, autobiographies and epistolary sources. These documents complement one another and are supposed to be researched as far as their origin, authenticity and credibility are concerned. Critique of sources aims at, among others, elimination of useless documents or those of questionable value. In the 21st century crucial role play online sources: blogs, vlogs, Twitter or Facebook entries, audiovisual documents of different level of generality or detailing. Their credibility and usefulness depend on critical activities and identifying their helpfulness in the research.

    In the already existing resources of original Polish studies concerning the sexuality of children and adolescents as well as in planning similar studies there are important methodological shortcomings and ethical controversies. Beginning with the “sensitivity” of the topic, having diversified social assessment, through the difficulties in comparative studies (most of the literature comes from English-speaking cultural area) as well as the specifics of the selection of the studied populations (narrowed almost entirely to victims of sexual abuse), ending with the difficulties in formulating research objectives and ways of their implementation without compromising the subjects with possible damage. Significant limitations, strictly connected with the above ethical issues are the methodological aspects of sexual behaviour studies among children and adolescents – both the healthy and the ones from clinical groups. This article discusses the advantages and shortcomings of the ways of collecting data and research methodology – case studies; interviews with children and adolescents concerning their sexual behaviour; retrospective descriptions made by young adults, their sexual behaviour from childhood and adolescence time; observations of sexual behaviours of younger children made by parents and carers; standardized behaviour rating scales; direct observation and self-monitoring and neuroimaging studies. The values and limitations of these methods are presented in the axiological optics on the basis of own studies on children from the clinical population.
    W oryginalnych polskich opracowaniach dotyczących seksualności dzieci i młodzieży, a także w planowaniu badań z tego zakresu można zaobserwować istotne niedoskonałości metodologiczne i kwestie budzące kontrowersje etyczne, począwszy od „wrażliwości” tematyki, spotykającej się ze zróżnicowaną oceną społeczną, poprzez trudności w badaniach porównawczych (większość literatury pochodzi z anglojęzycznego obszaru kulturowego), specyfikę doboru populacji badanych (zawężonej nieomal zupełnie do ofiar molestowania seksualnego), na trudnościach w formułowaniu celów badawczych i sposobów ich realizacji bez narażania osób badanych na możliwe szkody skończywszy. Istotnymi ograniczeniami, ściśle związanymi z wymienionymi problemami etycznymi, są aspekty metodologiczne badań zachowań seksualnych dzieci i młodzieży – zarówno zdrowej, jak i z grup klinicznych. W pracy omówiono niedoskonałości różnych sposobów zbierania danych i metod badawczych (opisy przypadków – case studies, wywiady zbierane od dzieci i młodzieży dotyczące ich zachowań seksualnych, retrospektywne opisy własnych zachowań seksualnych z czasu dzieciństwa i adolescencji dokonywane przez młodych dorosłych, obserwacje zachowań seksualnych młodszych dzieci dokonywane przez rodziców i opiekunów, standaryzowane skale oceny zachowań, obserwacja bezpośrednia oraz samomonitorowanie i badania neuroobrazowe), a także związane z nimi korzyści. Wartości i ograniczenia tych metod przedstawione są w optyce aksjologicznej, na podstawie badań własnych dzieci z populacji klinicznej.

    Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakie są podstawowe typy kryteriów oceny poprawności technik komunikacyjno-poznawczych? Pokażemy, że we współczesnych badaniach rozwijanych na gruncie teorii błędnych technik tego typu (ang. theory of fallacies) teoretycy zazwyczaj koncentrują się na jednym z trzech aspektów: (1) kryterium logicznym, zgodnie z którym źródeł wadliwości tych technik upatruje się w przeprowadzanych rozumowaniach i inferencji, (2) kryterium dialektycznym, według którego wadliwość związana jest z nieprzestrzeganiem reguł dialogu przez jego uczestników, oraz (3) kryterium retorycznym, w którym wadliwości upatruje się w niepoprawnym wykorzystaniu środków perswazji (wadliwość związana z perswazyjną funkcją komunikacji). W artykule dokonujemy też przeglądu typowych podejść skupiających się na jednym z powyższych kryteriów oraz pokazujemy takie ujęcie, które umożliwia jednoczesne uwzględnienie wszystkich wymienionych aspektów.
    The aim of the paper is to explore the question: what are most basic types of criteria for evaluation of the communicative and cognitive techniques? We will show that argumentation scholars usually focus on one of three aspects of fallacies: (1) the logical criterion, according to which the sources of fallaciousness of communicative and cognitive techniques lie in the way the reasoning and inference is performed, (2) the dialectical criterion, according to which the fallaciousness of communicative and cognitive techniques is related to the violations of dialogue rules by the participants of the dialogue, and (3) the rhetorical criterion according to which the fallaciousness is recognized as the incorrect use of the persuasive means (the fallaciousness related to the persuasive function of communication). In the paper we propose an overview of typical approaches which focus on the one of those three criteria: logical, dialectical and rhetorical, and we also show an approach which allows to combine all mentioned criteria.

    W artykule prezentowany jest ideał obiektywności poznania i wiedzy znajdujący wyraz poza nauką również w licznych społecznych czynnościach i instytucjach. Analizowana jest głównie proceduralna geneza i natura tego ideału. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiona jest krytyczna analiza ideału obiektywności przeprowadzona przez teorię metafor pojęciowych Lakoffa i Johnsona, według których metaforyczność utrwala postawę obiektywistyczną w nauce i potocznym myśleniu.
    The paper presents the ideal of objectivity of cognition and knowledge prevailing both in science and many social activities and institutions. The procedural nature of this ideal is analyzed particularly. The second part of the paper concentrates on the critical analyses of this ideal provided by Lakoff and Johnson’s conceptual metaphor theory, mainly their thesis that objectivity ideal is maintained by the metaphorical thinking is considered.

W arty-kule zostały zaprezentowane zasadnicze pojęcia związane z metodologią nauk o finansach. Ukazano również rys historyczny oraz najważniejsze prace związane z kształtowaniem się metodologii nauk ekonomicznych. W ramach metod, które mogą być wykorzystywane w naukach finansowych, szczegółowo omówiono: metody prakseologiczne, metody porównawcze, metody ilościowe i jakościowe oraz metody eksperymentalne.
    The methodology and appropriate selection of research methods in economics, including the field of finance, play a tremendously important role. This is due to the fact that suitable procedures and correct research assumptions affect the quality of the entire research project. The purpose of this paper is to place the methodology of finance in a broader context of the methodology of economic sciences and to present basic research methods that can be used in the area of finance, on the basis of a review of literature on the subject. The author presents the fundamental concepts related to the methodology of finance. The most important historical works related to the evolution of the methodology of economic sciences are discussed. Among the methods available for financial sciences, the following are considered in detail: the praxeological methods, quantitative and qualitative methods, comparative methods, and experimental methods.

    W obszarze badań zorientowanych jakościowo pojęcie nasycenia jest ściśle związane z metodologią teorii ugruntowanej. Do jej metodologicznych procedur należy teoretyczne nasycenie kategorii. Jest to zasadnicze kryterium, sygnalizujące zakończenie zbierania grup porównawczych (Konecki, 2000). Metodologia teorii ugruntowanej dostarcza jasnych instrukcji postępowania, jednak podczas prowadzenia badań pojawia się wiele dylematów na drodze zbierania danych empirycznych oraz ich analiz. Jednym z nich jest moment zakończenia gromadzenia materiału empirycznego, o którym decyduje teoretyczne nasycenie. W artykule podjęto próbę przybliżenia dylematów młodego badacza związanych z nasyceniem teoretycznym. Refleksje zostaną przedstawione na podstawie analizy piśmiennictwa naukowego oraz fragmentu z badań własnych, obejmującego wątpliwości związane z nasyceniem teoretycznym w procedurach metodologii teorii ugruntowanej.
    In the area of qualitatively oriented research, the concept of saturation is closely related to the methodology of grounded theory. The methodological procedures include the theoretical saturation of the categories. It is the main criterion which signals the end of collecting the comparative groups (Konecki, 2000). The grounded theory methodology provides clear instructions, but during conduct research, many dilemmas arise in the way of collecting empirical data and their analysis. One of them is the end of the collection of empirical material, which is determined by theoretical saturation. This article is an attempt to present the dilemmas of a young researcher related to theoretical saturation. The reflections will be presented on the basis of an analysis of the scientific literature and a fragment of own research, including doubts related to theoretical saturation in the procedures of the grounded theory methodology.

    The paper aims to describe in a synthetic way some issues related to the marketing activity of R&D organizations in view of legal acts regulating the functioning of the state owned R&D organizations. The authors have analyzed some regulations related to research institutes and their activities, regulations specifying criteria and procedures of granting of a scientific category to a R&D unit as well as principals of financing of the science and regulations related to the operations of certifying units. Basing on this analysis the authors have elaborated a set of marketing goals of the R&D organizations, a list of their stakeholders and of specific marketing tools both accessible in view of the rules and regulations in force and effective from the point of view of parametric evaluation of the R&D organizations. Among the analyzed tools there are the following: issues related to publications, organization of conferences, seminars and popularizing events, organization of education and training courses, internal policies related to intellectual property protection, internal policies related to technology transfer, membership in international organizations and applied quality policies.
    Artykuł stanowi próbę syntetycznego opisu zagadnień związanych z działalnością marketingową jednostek badawczych przez pryzmat obowiązujących w Polsce przepisów związanych z funkcjonowaniem PJB. Autorzy dokonali analizy uregulowań związanych z działalnością instytutów badawczych, przepisów określających kryteria i tryb przyznawania kategorii naukowej jednostkom naukowym oraz zasady finansowania nauki, a także uregulowań związanych z działalnością jednostek certyfikacyjnych. Na podstawie tej analizy autorzy dokonali zestawienia celów marketingowych jednostek badawczych, grup interesariuszy i specyficznych narzędzi marketingowych dostępnych w świetle przepisów i charakteryzujących się optymalną efektywnością z punktu widzenia zasad funkcjonowania instytutu badawczego, w tym z punktu widzenia zasad oceny parametrycznej jednostek naukowych. Wśród przeanalizowanych narzędzi marketingowych znalazły się m. in. zagadnienia związane z publikacjami, organizacją konferencji i seminariów czy też wydarzeń o charakterze popularyzatorskim, organizacją szkoleń, polityką ochrony własności intelektualnej, polityką transferu technologii, przynależnością do międzynarodowych organizacji branżowych czy też prowadzoną polityką zapewnienia jakości.

    The purpose of this article is to present a multifaceted analysis concerning methodology proceedin-gs in recruitment procedures for researchers. Theoretical considerations are complemented by concusions of an empirical study. The role of scientificinstitutions and values applicable in the scientificcommunity in light of popularized theories are analyzed first.Additionally, reference is made to the principles enshrined in the code of ethics of Poland’s National Research and Development Centre.Then are discussed recommended patterns of conduct which have been recorded in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, paying particu-lar attention to issues relating to openness and fairness of proceedings and equal treatment.The next part of the work discusses legal regulations applicable to the employment of academics at Polish universities. It looks closely into the differences that apply to employees at public and private universities, which can be considered from the point of view of legal provisions relating to the prin-ciple of equal treatment enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.The subsequent part of study is devoted to the conclusions of an empirical study covering the compe-tition proceedings relating to the employment of academic staff at public universities. The methodo-logy of the examination procedure is thoroughly explained and interim research questions concerning the specific issues and problems closely related to the analyzed subject are presented

    Tekst przedstawia procedury i techniki metody badawczej ukierunkowanej na „wywołanie źródła historycznego”, co rozumiane jest jako przygotowany i zrealizowany w rygorze naukowym udział badacza w stworzeniu przez świadka historii takiego materiału wspomnieniowego, który mógłby być nośnikiem informacji i zostałby poddany rudymentarnej analizie historycznej. W tekście przedstawiono zdefiniowane założenia i kolejne etapy postępowania badawczego.
    The text presents the procedures and techniques involved in a research method aimed at “evoking a historical source”, which is understood as a researcher’s prepared and academically rigorously implemented participation in the creation by a witness to history of such recollective material that might be a carrier of information and that might be subject to rudimentary historical analysis. The text presents defined assumptions and subsequent stages of the proposed research procedure.

    Opis:
    Rozprawa jest próbą ujęcia procesu tworzenia się logopedii jako dyscypliny naukowej: – od początku XX w. wiedza o zaburzeniach mowy znalazła się za przyczyną W. Ołtuszewskiego w ramach rodzącej się foniatrii. Interpretacji ich dokonał autor w kategoriach czynności biologicznych; – w 60. latach XX w. L. Kaczmarek, językoznawca, opisał zaburzenia mowy w kategoriach lingwistyki strukturalnej. Zinterpretował także proces zdobywania języka przez dzieci w perspektywie teorii behawioralnej: język – byt, utworzony przez grupę społeczną, jest efektem doświadczeń dziecka zdobywanych w procesie uczenia się; – początek XXI w. pozwolił ująć problemy logopedyczne w kategoriach kognitywnych: bytem generującym zachowania językowe stała się kompetencja językowa i komunikacyjna. Jest ona komponentem umysłu i zawiera mentalne wzorce jednostek językowych. Pole badawcze logopedii, oprócz kompetencji językowej i komunikacyjnej, stanowią budowane przez jednostkę wypowiedzi oraz sprawności biologiczne warunkujące proces nabywania kompetencji i wreszcie ustalone tradycją byty konceptualne, kryjące się pod różnymi nazwami zaburzeń mowy (np. afazja, jąkanie, dyzartria).
    The present study is an attempt to present the process of the development of logopedics as a scientific discipline: – from the early 20th century, knowledge about speech disorders became, owing to W. Ołtuszewski, part of the emerging phoniatrics. The disorders were interpreted by this author in terms of biological functions. – in the 1960s, L. Kaczmarek, a linguist, described speech disorders in terms of structural linguistics. He also interpreted the process of language acquisition by children from the perspective of behavioral theory: language – an entity created by a social group is the effect of the child’s experiences gained in the process of learning. – the beginning of the 21st century enabled the interpretation of logopedic (speech therapy) problems in cognitive terms: the entity that generates language behaviors is now linguistic competence and communicative competence. It is a component of the mind and contains mental patterns of linguistic units. The research field of logopedics is made up, in addition to linguistic and communicative competence, of utterances built by a person, as well as of biological skills determining the process of acquiring competence, and finally, traditionally established conceptual entities hidden under different names of speech disorders (e.g. aphasia, stuttering, dysarthria).
