Opis:
High power proton relaxometry was applied to investigate the liquid phase contained in porous rock. Proton free induction decays and spin-lattice relaxation times allowed us to investigate the pore distribution and the contribution of mobile and of immobilized liquid. The differences in pore distributions in oil-containing limestone and in Węglowicki sandstone were found. The fractal exponent for pore distribution in Węglowicki sandstone was fitted using both stretched exponential and modified stretched exponential models. The results of both approaches are compared.

Opis:
The effect of vanadium (IV)-oxy acetylacetonate (V4) and vanadium(III) acetylacetonate (V3) on the liposome membranes formed of synthetic lecithin (DPPC) was presented in this paper. Liposomes were formed during the sonication of DPPC lecithin in an aqueous medium. The concentration of the vanadium compounds changed in the range of 0% to 2.4% in molar ratio to the lecithin. The EPR technique made use of three spin probes penetrating the different areas of the membrane (as follows: TEMPO, 16-DOXYL stearic acid methyl ester, stearic acid 5-DOXYL methyl ester). TEMPO probe penetrates the interphase water-lipid (partition parameter F), the probe 16-DOXYL locates in the middle of the lipid bilayer (rotational correlation time τ), the probe 5-DOXYL gives a picture of membrane fluidity (the order parameter) just below the polar head groups. The results of our research showed the following conclusions. The change of membrane fluidity, as a function of admixture concentration, was dependent on the type of additives. TEMPO probe recorded an increase in liquidity interphase water-lipid for both admixtures: V3 and V4. 16-DOXYL probe indicated that the admixture V3 increases the fluidity in the center of the lipid bilayer. Admixture V4 significantly less impacted on the change of the membrane middle. The 5-DOXYL probe did not influence on the membrane surface portion, there were not observed significant changes under the impact of admixtures. V3 showed stronger impact on membrane fluidity.

We investigated magnetoreflectance and magnetization of highly diluted bulk Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Mn$\text{}_{x}$Te crystals 0.2% ≤ x ≤ 10%. The exchange constant in terms of mean field approximation and virtual crystal approximation (the ratio of the heavy hole exciton splitting to mean spin per unit cell) was evaluated and found x-dependent. This deviation from the mean field approximation and virtual crystal approximation prediction is caused by the local potential introduced by Mn ions. We discuss the problem within a Wigner-Seitz approach and within a model of magnetic and chemical disorder based on the alloy theory.

In this study the effect of Fe for Ni substitution in Ni₄₄Co₆Mn₃₉Sn₁₁ metamagnetic shape memory alloys on their structure, magneto-structural transformation characteristics, magnetic and magnetocaloric properties was studied. The results show that the structure and martensite transformation behavior strongly depends on the Fe concentration. The martensitic transformation temperature decreases with 1 at.% of Fe and is suppressed with higher Fe content. It was further found that substitution of Fe for Ni leads to lowering of the value of magnetic entropy change.

Recently we demonstrated growth of monocrystalline ZnO films by atomic layer epitaxy in the gas flow variant using inorganic precursors. In this study, we discuss properties of ZnO films grown with organic precursors. Successful Mn doping of the ZnO films during the growth was achieved using the Mn-thd complex. Secondary ion mass spectroscopy and X-ray investigations reveal the contents of Mn up to about 20% of the cationic component.

In this paper we demonstrate how the tuning of the VECSEL heterostructure can be precisely determined. Since the VECSEL active region is embodied in a microcavity, the photoluminescence signal collected from the chip surface is modified by the resonance of this cavity. The angle resolved photoluminescence measurements combined with the temperature tuning of the structure allowed us to precisely determine VECSEL emission features. The investigated structure consists of GaAs cavity with six InGaAs quantum wells and is designed for lasing at 980 nm.

Investigations of the photoluminescence of PbS-EuS superlattices deposited on (111)BaF$\text{}_{2}$ substrates are presented. Quantum-size and deformation effects in photoluminescence spectra are observed. The strain-induced gap shift and valence-band offset is determined from experimental results. A strong stimulated photoluminescence with relatively low threshold was observed. It was found that the photocarriers generated in EuS barrier strongly affect the population of PbS subbands.

ZnO thin films were grown on silicon substrate by atomic layer deposition method. We explored double-exchange chemical reaction and used very volatile and reactive diethylzinc as a zinc precursor. These enables us to obtain zinc oxide thin films of high quality at extremely low growth temperature (90-200ºC). The films are polycrystalline as was determined by X-ray diffraction and show flat surfaces with roughness of 1-4 nm as derived from atomic force microscopy measurements. Photoluminescence studies show that an edge emission of excitonic origin is observed even at room temperature for all investigated ZnO layers deposited with the diethylzinc precursor.

Magnetic, structural, and optical properties of ZnMnO films grown with atomic layer epitaxy are discussed. Atomic layer epitaxy films were grown at low temperature using organic zinc and manganese precursors. From magnetometry and electron spin resonance investigations we conclude that lowering of a growth temperature significantly limits formation of Mn precipitates and inclusions of different foreign phases of manganese oxides to ZnMnO host.

We present the results of ferromagnetic resonance studies of the thickness dependence of magnetic anisotropy in 2 series of EuS-PbS multilayers grown on (111) BaF$\text{}_{2}$ and (100) KCl substrates with the EuS thickness varying in the range d=6-70 Å. The anisotropy constant K was found to follow the dependence K(d)=K$\text{}_{V}$+2K$\text{}_{S}$/d , with the surface term K$\text{}_{S}$ larger for layers grown on BaF$\text{}_{2}$ as compared to KCl. This difference is discussed in terms of different thermal stress-induced distortions of cubic crystal lattice of EuS. We found that the thickness of EuS layer required for the perpendicular (to the layer) magnetization is d ≤ 2-3 Å, i.e., it is below 1 monolayer.

Optical and magnetic properties of ZnMnO films are discussed based on the results of cathodoluminescence, photoluminescence, and magneto-photoluminescence investigations. We show that photoluminescence/cathodoluminescence emissions are strongly quenched and become in-plane inhomogeneous in samples with increased Mn fractions. Strong polarization of photoluminescence is observed, even though excitonic lines do not shift and are not split at magnetic fields up to 6 T.

In this paper we report on ZnCoO thin films grown by atomic layer deposition method in reactor F-120 Satellite. ZnCoO films were grown at low temperature ($T_s$=160°C) with a new zinc precursor (dimethylzinc - DMZn) and with cobalt (II) acetyloacetonate (Co(acac)₂) as a cobalt precursor and deionized water as an oxygen precursor. In this paper we concentrate on the methods of homogenizing Co distribution in ZnCoO films.
