Opis:
Goal – the purpose of this article is to generalize theoretical approaches to determining the specifics of women’s entrepreneurship, to form a portrait of a modern woman in business, to identify barriers to the development of women’s entrepreneurship and ways of its development. Research methodology – in the main part, the analysis of economic sectors, which modern women prefer when choosing a field of activity, is carried out. A comparative analysis was carried out and the distinctive features of enterprises run by men and women were identified. Score/results – the positive experience of conducting women’s business in Poland, which can be successfully used to improve and develop women’s entrepreneurship in Belarus, is revealed. Options for improving the current situation, aimed at the development of women’s entrepreneurship, are proposed. Originality/value – the article deals with the formation and development of women’s business as a basis for the activation of small and medium‑sized businesses in the Republic of Belarus. The features of the activities of enterprises run by women are revealed, and the strengths and weaknesses in their work are highlighted.

The new millennium is seen as an epoch of entrepreneurship with entrepreneurs perceiving novel opportunities, organizing resources, undertaking risks to pursue their goals in establishing innovative ventures for scaling new horizons. Women entrepreneurs have the potency to confront numerous challenges, such as creating equity, equilibrium, ensuring sustainable and inclusive socio economic development in divergent economies, by seizing tremendous business opportunities in the contemporary commercial world. Kerala, the southern State of India, is experiencing an economic renovation through technological transformation and, in particular, through the growth of women oriented Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The study aims to; identify the growth trends of women’s entrepreneurship in the micro enterprises of Kerala; examine whether women’s entrepreneurial activities significantly vary across the form of women owned enterprises, type of organization and nature of activity; and also explore the prospects and challenges faced by women entrepreneurs through micro entrepreneurial activities. Research methodology involves the application of descriptive quantitative analysis on the secondary data primarily collected from the database of Directorate of Industries and District Industries Centre for a period of 7 years extending from 2007-08 to 2013-14. Findings reveal that MSMEs spawn better income distribution, by operating in heterogeneous areas of the economy with limited capital and creating more employment opportunities, thereby reducing poverty and inequalities. The trend analysis reflects an escalation in the number of enterprises, investments, profits and employment opportunities generated especially through micro enterprises of women. They play a crucial role in the economy in terms of creating self employment and generating employment opportunities for others. A paradigm shift is seen in the role of women’s entrepreneurship in terms of innovation, attitudes, leadership qualities, competitiveness, entrepreneurial skill and absorbing new entrants to the job market, empowering marginalized women.

The subject of this article is the analysis of the changes and the legacy of the legal aspects of the Rural Women’s Associations. Its specific purpose is to characterise their history, the legal forms of functioning: as associations, as independent Rural Women’s Associations and the changes resulting from entering into force of the Act of November 9, 2018 on the Rural Women’s Associations. The Author of the article used the dogmatic and the historical-legal methods. The Act of 2018 on the Rural Women’s Associations introduced numerous new legal solutions. Currently, the associations cultivate traditions, contributing to the rural development. They show initiative and build a good image of their area. The implementation of many activities undertaken by the associations is possible thanks to the financing granted from the state budget. Pursuant to the Act on the Rural Women’s Associations of November 9, 2018, a separate organisational formula was created for RWAs which constitute voluntary, independent and self-governing social organisations of village residents. Based on the previously applicable law, the Rural Housewives’ Associations could be created as part of agricultural associations as their independent units. They could also function in the form of associations. The legislator has granted the legal personality to the associations, which allows them to conduct business activity on their own account and use the financial support the public funds. The Rural Women’s Associations perform an important function in the rural environment. They support the integration of local communities, cultivate local and regional customs, develop women’s entrepreneurship in rural areas, combining tradition with modernity.

The aim of the article is to show how self-employed Polish women living in the UK perceive professional success. The main assumption adopted in this article is based on the stereotypical model of a male entrepreneur and the social division of labour, which is being renegotiated by immigrant women are beginning to shape their own model a professionally active, successful woman. The theoretical framework of the analysis is determined by the definitions of the objective and subjective dimensions of success and the relationships between them, as well as the concepts and results of research on women in the labour market and their approach to a professional career. The empirical part of the work is based on the results of qualitative research (27 individual, in-depth interviews) conducted among self-employed Polish women in the United Kingdom. An intersectional perspective was used in the data analysis. Based on the research, it has been established that the subjective dimension of the professional success of self-employed immigrant women includes, among others, definitions such as material success, success as job satisfaction and success as a balance between work and family life.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie sposobu, w jaki samozatrudnione Polki mieszkające w Wielkiej Brytanii postrzegają sukces zawodowy. Głównym założeniem przyjętym w niniejszym artykule jest nawiązanie do stereotypowego modelu mężczyzny-przedsiębiorcy i pokazanie, jak kobiety-imigrantki renegocjują swoją rolę w społecznym podziale pracy, kształtując przy tym swój własny wzorzec aktywnej zawodowo kobiety sukcesu. Ramy teoretyczne analiz wyznaczają definicje obiektywnego i subiektywnego wymiaru sukcesu oraz relacje między nimi, a także koncepcje i wyniki badań na temat sytuacji kobiet na rynku pracy i ich podejście do kariery zawodowej. Część empiryczna pracy bazuje na wynikach badań jakościowych (27 indywidualnych wywiadów ustrukturyzowanych) przeprowadzonych wśród kobiet prowadzących działalność gospodarczą w Wielkiej Brytanii. W analizie danych zastosowano perspektywę intersekcjonalną. Na podstawie badań ustalono, że subiektywny wymiar sukcesu zawodowego samozatrudnionych imigrantek obejmuje między innymi takie definicje jak: sukces materialny, sukces jako satysfakcję z wykonywanej pracy oraz sukces jako równowagę między życiem zawodowym a rodzinnym.

Over the last twenty years a growing number of researchers have been interested in female entrepreneurship. Every third business venture in the world is run by a woman. Brief Women business owners face substantial risks and uncertainty. Women tend to take entrepreneurial risks if provided with various forms of support that increase their sense of psychological safety and work comfort. The below study findings identify the most useful support methods. The subject of the survey was to determine on a scale of five the usefulness of individual forms of business support. Respondents answered, how useful is listed form of business support. Support should be tailored to the demographic characteristics of women. In depending on the stage of life and life situation women need different support. The barriers to women entrepreneurship result not as much from difficulties in obtaining funding but rather from the frustration resulting from unfulfilled social needs. Access to support from the state, social organizations and family members increases the sense of psychological safety and work comfort in women, leading to a greater propensity to take risks and start and run businesses.
