In this paper, the force transfer mechanism of three mechanical elements “inerter, spring and damper” is analyzed based on the “force-current” analogy theory. The vibration isolation performance of the two types of simple three-element vehicle suspensions S1 (inerter is in parallel with damper) and S2 (inerter is in series with damper) are studied. The dual-mass system model of the suspensions is built by means of using the mechanical impedance method. The influence of parameters variation on vibration transfer characteristics is also investigated.

The paper presents an analysis of the levels of vibration on the compressor in the support surface of the American RRC Allison 250-C20R engine built into the SW-4 Puszczyk helicopter. Then, it presents the association of occurring vibrations with their source of origin, and also the comparison of their values with the limit values specified in the operating manual of the helicopter. The methodology of the conducted research and analyses are explained. The essential elements preceding the research, such as determining time courses, on the basis of which the most important parts to conduct the detailed analyses of changes of the basic parameters and compliance with technical conditions, are defined. Moreover, the theoretical issues in terms of determination and description of the characteristic parameters of mechanical vibrations are briefly presented. The typical terms used in the procedures of vibration, description and measurements are explained. The importance of the interpretation of measurements is quite significantly emphasised and the components of the main engine, which were subject to measurement, are indicated. The difficulties in the identification of the vibration due to the high probability of overlapping of vibrations coming from several elements are emphasised. Next, the methodology of measurement is described, in which, among others, mounting points of vibration sensors are presented. The final part of the paper is mainly a graphical presentation of the results, on the basis of which the conclusions are developed. The conclusions show a lack of decisive symptoms indicating the danger at the level of vibrations, and present the future directions of work, which will allow for a more detailed analysis.

The vibration analysis is the study of the behaviour and dynamic properties of mechanical structures under actuation by harmonic vibration forces. The aim of resonance tests of the structures is the experimental delimitation of frequencies and the modes of resonance vibrations. vibration analysis, or more precisely experimental vibration analysis, is the field of measuring and analyzing the dynamic response of mechanical structures when excited by a mechanical input. The broadly applied method of research relies on the harmonic actuation of vibrations and the measurement of respective parameters. Examples would include measuring the vibration of an aircraft load bearing structure when it is attached to an electromagnetic force actuator. Current vibration testing systems are composed of actuators set with their control and powering circuits, the vibration measurement transducers (typically accelerometers), an analog-to-digital converter to digitize analog instrumentation signals) and a system host computer to analyze the data and view it. The result of researcher own accumulated experiences and those experiences knownfrom the literature create the possibility for design o f a stochastic frame model describing, what type of resonances are possible to expect in the given or other type of structure. The cases submitted below became perceived and tested in the course of research of several aircraft, glider and helicopter designs in the Resonance Tests Program of the Institute of Aviation

The most widely used technique for gearbox fault diagnosis is still vibration analysis. The need for gearbox condition monitoring in an automated process is essential and there is still a problem with the selection of features that best describe a fault or its severity level. For this purpose, multiple-domain vibration signals statistic features are extracted through time and frequency domain by postprocessing of raw time signal, time-synchronous average signal, frequency spectra and cepstrum. Five different datasets are considered with different levels of fault analyzing gear chipped and a missing tooth, gear root crack, and gear tooth wear under stable running speed and load. A preliminary experimental study of a single stage test bench gearbox was performed in order to test feature sensitivity to type and level of fault in the process of clustering and classification. Selected features were finally processed using an artificial neural network classifier.

Wykorzystanie współczesnych środków badawczych czynią proces poznawczy intuicyjnym i przyjaznym studentom. Autorzy prezentują stanowisko doświadczalne oraz ilustrują jego działanie wykonanymi pomiarami.
In this paper described is an educational kit containing a vibrating string. The simple model permits the student to enter the world of vibrations, to record and analyze the phenomena. It also allows measurement of the density of the material from which the vibrating string is made. The essence of the exercise is fluent transition from analyzing the oscillating motion to learning the physical properties of a vibrating material (the string) by using contemporary means and in the form intelligible for the student. The authors present the experimental stand and illustrate its performance with standard measurements.

A properly designed and manufactured vibration isolation system of railroads and civil engineering structures has a decisive influence on the reduction of vibrations caused by crossing trains, trams and subway transferred to residential buildings This article presents an overview of current vibration isolation systems of railroads and civil engineering structures. Based on the effectiveness of the protection of residential and industrial buildings from vibrations the ranking of vibration isolation systems was proposed. The article also attempts to assess the effectiveness of vibration isolation systems currently used in rail trails. For this purpose, a discrete-continuous model of vibration isolation system of railway and tramway rails was build. For this model, dynamic analysis was carried out. Performed analysis allowed determining range of the natural frequency of vibration isolation system. The results of dynamic analysis allow pitching shift the natural frequency of the system under consideration from the frequency of excitation, which in turn is a fundamental condition for the proper operation of the vibration isolation. As part of work on a physical model of vibration isolation system there was also developed one-level crossings of roads and railroads. The work was carried out in a research project 4875/B/TO2/2010/38 financed by Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The compact installation and technology for determining vibration characteristics by the ESPI method has been created. The experimental determination of the dynamic characteristics of a diamond circular blade with a diameter of 203.4 mm and a thickness of 1.19 mm using real-time electronic speckle interferometry is presented. 15 mode shapes of vibration were detected in the range from 100 to 5000 Hz. The program calculation of the natural frequencies and mode shapes is carried out for three values of the clamping inner diameter (42 mm, 44 mm, 46 mm). The options for calculating a disk with a rim and without a rim are considered. It is shown that the minimum mean squared error of the calculation is achieved for the values of the diameter of the disk 46 mm, 42 mm and 44 mm for the number of nodal circles 0, 1 and 2, respectively. To verify the accuracy of the interferometer, experimental, computational and analytical studies of console steel rod 200 x 22.25 x 3.78 mm in size were carried out.

The methodology of measuring the vibration signal recorded on the casing of wheeled armoured vehicle ROSOMAK driving axis is presented. The study was performed on a test bench for different transmission conditions. A preliminary analysis of the frequency spectra vibration signals recorded. The test stand allows investigation of the differential axle gears under load similar to load during duty operation. It was possible by using the combustion engine and gearboxes and load transmission by using the dynamometer break. Have been described. Three methods of attaching acceleration sensors to differential gears: using screws, magnetic washers and probe handle. The results of comparisons of measurement results obtained using these methods. Finally, the sensors was mount by using the screw connections. Selected positions and points of temperature and vibration measures were described. Values of characteristic frequencies of differential axle gears vibration by moving the drive torque through these boxes were calculated. The spectra of the vibration signal determined during testing gearboxes were shown. It was state that of amplitude-frequency vibration spectra of signals recorded at selected points of differential axle gears casing are clearly visible characteristic frequencies but the vibration the bridge gear unit bridges distorted by vibration of the internal combustion engine and gearboxes. In a further stage of research should be included much larger number of the driving axis differentials investigated in various states of well-known technical conditions and should be lead accord to requirements of the active diagnostic experiment.

Evolution of modern industry makes great demands to reliable work of pump equipment with large revolutions number of rotating parts. Under special supervision must be the centrifugal high-speed pumps. One of the major and hardly loaded units of high-speed pump equipment are rolling bearings, therefore it is very important to conduct monitoring and early diagnostics works to find out defects in them. For the high-frequency vibration detection and analysis it is possible to use both stationary and portable systems of monitoring and diagnostics. This diagnostics advantage is early detection of aberration from normal operation of rolling bearings and transition from equipment service and repair on-schedule to real situation service and repair, which is determined on periodic diagnostics results.

Chatter in rolling mills is the undesirable vibration observed in most of the rolling mills operating at high speed and rolling thin strip. In this work the authors discuss some problems relative to the vibrations occurring in a S6-high cold rolling mill. It can result in not good surface finish for some applications and, rare cases, in gauge variations in the rolled strip and it is considered to be the result of interaction between rolling mill structure and rolling-process. Three basic types of chatter can be classified in rolling mills: torsional, third-octave mode, and fifth-octave-mode chatter. S6-high rolling mill is an innovative mode to work the steel: it allows the use of very small work rolls laterally guided by individually adjustable side support rolls, which are supported by two rows of roller bearings mounted in cassettes. It has six rolls able to roll steel strip coming directly from hot rolling mill train. A proposed solution based on empirical observations, vibration analysis and considerations of a model is described with the aim to improve the quality of the product and increasing production.

Introduction. Weed control is one of the most important issues in the maintenance sectors of both agriculture and green areas. Small tools are employed for controlling grass and other growths on steep verges and river banks. This leads the operators being exposed to many risks among which vibration is one. The purpose of this study is to measure and evaluate hand-arm vibration and to verify the daily exposure to which workers are often subjected while weeding. Materials and method. Two cutting heads, a brush knife and a mowing head were compared. Both were mounted on the same cow-horn brush cutter. The vibration total value was expressed as the root-mean-square (rms) of three component values according to the axes X, Y and Z. The signal was frequency weighted using the weighting curve Wh, as described in the ISO 5349–1 (2001) standard. In addition, the daily vibration exposure was calculated and compared with the thresholds set by EU Directive 2002/44/EC (2005). Results. The obtained results showed that the exposure action value (EAV) of 2.5 ms-2 was exceeded while using both cutting heads. The exposure limit value (ELV) using the brush knife also exceeded 5 ms-2. Conclusions. The results highlighted important aspects in terms of exposure values that should be considered with the view of preventing the risk of Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) to which the operators who frequently use these tools are exposed. Specific measures should therefore be taken to protect the exposed workers.

Celem pracy jest określenie różnic w wynikach oceny komfortu uzyskiwanych różnymi metodami, oraz określenie zależności pomiędzy nimi. Zakres badań obejmował badanie drgań na siedziskach kierowców i załóg wybranych pojazdów i dokonanie analizy komfortu jazdy i określenie różnić w wynikach badań uzyskanych różnymi metodami i propozycja ich niwelacji. W pracy porównano metody badań eksperymentalnych pod kątem ich przydatności do oceny komfortu pojazdów specjalnych.
The paper aims to determine differences between comfort assessment results achieved with the use of different test methods, and to define the interdependencies between them. The studies consisted in the following objectives: •vibration examination on the driver and crew seats of selected vehicles and the comfort of travel analysis, •determination of differences between examination results obtained with the use of various testing methods and proposal of these differences limitation. Experimental test methods were compared in the paper in the aspect of their suitability for special vehicles comfort evaluation. The paper has compared experimental test methods as far as their suitability for special vehicle comfort measurements is concerned.

Autorzy w publikacji analizują rzeczywistą realizację drgań tąpnięć kopalnianych (o czasie trwania 8,2 s), otrzymaną ze stacji sejsmicznej LGOM. Realizację podzielono na siedem odcinków (po 1,2 s), z których wyestymowano funkcje autokowariancji i gęstości widma mocy. Przykład analizy otrzymanych charakterystyk zestawiono na rysunkach 1-7. Bazując na analizie rozkładu widma drgań w dyskretnym (po czasie) zbiorze estymat charakterystyk i parametrów (moc widma, struktura częstotliwościowa widma, wariancja z realizacji odcinkowych), zaproponowano metodologię i narzędzia do badań porównawczych tąpań kopalnianych w postaci kart atlasu tąpań dla LGOM.
In this publication the authors have analysed the real mining bounces signal (of 8.2 sec. duration) received from the LGOM seismic station. The signal was divided into 7 segments (of 1.2 sec. duration each) from which the auto covariance and the spectra energy density functions were estimated. The sample results of the characteristic analysis are presented in Figs.1-7. On the basis of spectral density analysis of the oscillation spectrum in discrete (in time) set of estimates of the characteristics and parameters (spectral power, spectrum frequency structure, segment realizations variance) there was suggested a metrology and tools for comparative study of mining bounces in the form of the bounces atlas sheets for LGOM region.

In this paper, the first investigation on free vibration analysis of three-layered nanobeams with the shear effect incorporated in the mid-layer based on the nonlocal theory and both Euler Bernoulli and Timoshenko beams theories is presented. Hamilton’s formulation is applied to derive governing equations and edge conditions. In order to solve differential equations of motions and to determine natural frequencies of the proposed three-layered nanobeams with different boundary conditions, the generalized differential quadrature (GDQM) is used. The effect of the nanoscale parameter on the natural frequencies and deflection modes shapes of the three layered-nanobeams is discussed. It appears that the nonlocal effect is important for the natural frequencies of the nanobeams. The results can be pertinent to the design and application of MEMS and NEMS.
