W niniejszym artykule analizowano zależności między skłonnością do podejmowania zachowań ryzykownych i agresywnych na drodze a zmiennymi osobowymi w grupie osób amatorsko uprawiających turystykę motocyklową i osób posiadających prawo jazdy kategorii B. Przebadano grupę 72 kierowców. Otrzymane wyniki wskazują, iż grupa motocyklistów istotnie różni się od grupy kontrolnej w zakresie częstości poodejmowania zachowań ryzykownych, sposobu prowadzenia pojazdu oraz wynikających z niego konsekwencji. Tendencja do podejmowania zachowań agresywnych warunkuje podejmowanie zachowań ryzykownych na drodze. Zaprezentowane w artykule wnioski mogą stanowić podstawę do dyskusji i podejmowania dalszych badań w zakresie kultury bezpieczeństwa w ruchu drogowym.
This article analyzes the relation between the tendency to take risky and aggressive behaviour on the road and the personal variables in the group of people who are engaged in motorcycle tourism and have driving license of category B. The research was conducted in a group of 72 drivers. The obtained results indicate that the group of motorcyclists is significantly different from the control group in terms of the frequency of taking risk, the way the vehicle is driven and the consequences resulting from it. The tendency to undertake aggressive behaviour determines taking risk on the road. The conclusions presented in the article can be the basis for discussion and further research concerning safety culture in road traffic.

Drivers’ self image and perception of other drivers comprise the main road traffic factors under analysis in this paper. The impact of these factors on traffic safety was evaluated through a survey among drivers. The outcome of the survey led to interesting conclusions related primarily to the relationship between drivers’ behaviours and their self-assessment and assessment of others. A negative correlation was demonstrated for the latter factor. The more highly the respondents rate themselves, the less highly they rate the skills of other drivers. The study included a number of comparative analyses dealing, among others, with drink driving.

W ramach zimowego utrzymania dróg służby drogowe usuwają z nawierzchni drogowych śliskość zimową. W Polsce, najczęściej stosowanym topnikiem jest chlorek sodu (NaCl), sól drogowa (97% NaCl + 2,5% CaCl2 + 0,2% K4Fe(CN)6), rzadziej chlorek wapnia (CaCl2) oraz chlorek magnezu (MgCl2). Stosowanie chlorków przyczynia się do powstawania uszkodzeń w nawierzchniach drogowych, korozji oraz do nieodwracalnych zmian w środowisku naturalnym. W artykule wskazano stopień migracji środków chemicznych stosowanych w Polsce w sezonie zimowym (luty 2015 r.) oraz zasięg oddziaływania tych środków dzięki oznaczeniu zasolenia gleb przydrożnych metodą konduktometryczną (październik 2014 r., marzec 2015 r.). Badania przeprowadzono na drodze wojewódzkiej nr 282 (obwodnica Nowego Kisielina) na 24 wydzielonych kwaterach w warstwie oblodzenia o powierzchni 0,5 m2 każda oraz na 6 transektach z 5 punktami pomiarowymi zlokalizowanymi na każdym transekcie w odległości 10, 20, 30, 40 i 50 m od każdej z kwater. Badania jednoznacznie wykazały wysokie zasolenie gleb zlokalizowanych w pasie przydrożnym na którym zastosowano sól drogową, z jednoczesnym wskazaniem najwyższego stopnia migracji tego środka w warstwie śliskości zimowej.
In winter road maintenance service road remove snow from the road surface and slippery winter In Poland, the most commonly used fluxing agent is sodium chloride (NaCl), road salt (97% NaCl + 2,5% CaCl2 + 0,2% K4Fe(CN)6), less calcium chloride (CaCl2) and magnesium chloride (MgCl2). The use of chemicals to the formation of cracks in road surfaces, corrosion and to irreversible changes in the environment. The article indicates the degree of migration of chemicals used in Poland in the winter (February 2015). And the reach of these measures by the determination of soil salinity using roadside conductivity (October 2014, March 2015). The research was carried out on the road No. 282 (ring road Nowy Kisielin) for 24 separate quarters in a layer of ice on the area of 0.5 m2 each and 6 transects with 5 measuring points localized on each transect 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 m of each lodging. The study clearly showed high salinity of soils located at the waist roadside where road salt is used, while indicating the highest degree of migration of the measure in a layer of slippery winter.

Safety in the road traffic is largely dependent on the physical and mental condition of the driver. Current research as well as the analyses conducted on certain phenomena-psycho-physiological efficiency of drivers, their skills, the influence of extrinsic factors on drivers, the technical parameters of vehicles and finally the distracting power of the environment - all prove that it is achievable to minimize risk in the road traffic. There are various testing techniques, some of them are directed at the driver (eye tracking, heart rate and breath gauging or neuro-imaging), other techniques test the on-board car systems and still others test the visual and radar monitoring of the environment outside the vehicle. All of these techniques, for one thing enable tracing the driver’s actions and for another, provide information about the processes which affect the driving person. It should be noted that, owing to the above mentioned study, new knowledge is being developed. Both the research conducted with modern equipment, such as the systems of visual and radar analysis of the driver’s surrounding area, and the systems which gauge psychophysical condition of the person, even if they might not ensure our totally comprehensive grasp of the safety processes in transport, yet they provide new and valuable information which is expected to facilitate our understanding of the role and influence of psychophysical processes in a driver on safety in the road traffic. Data collected with such methods will enhance our knowledge with details that have been unknown so far. Besides, the methods will let us perceive the phenomena which may, for that matter, serve to verify current theories or even lay the foundations for totally innovative knowledge that may help to analyse the influence of the driver’s psychophysical condition on the road traffic safety. What is more, the resultant knowledge may be further employed to work out effective tools for aiding safety to different means of transport in motion. The development of tools and methods which are supposed to enhance and ensure safety in the road transport is the clue issue being tackled by both domestic institutions and the European Union. For a few years now, safety in the road traffic in developed countries has been one of the essential issues regularly discussed and studied. The aim of this article is to present both the testing methods as well as the role of psychophysical condition of the driver on safety in the road traffic.

The first section of this paper presents in general terms the main ideas of literary Darwinism represented by Joseph Carroll, Jonathan Gottschall and other scholars concerning theory (literature as an adaptation) and interpretative practice. It also reviews the key arguments of this literary school's critics focusing on the papers of Jonathan Kramnick and William Deresiewicz. The second section is an attempt at applying Darwinian methodology to the interpretation of The Road by Cormac McCarthy taking into account its reception, style, the behavioural systems (survival, parenting, and cognitive activity), the literary context and the author's point of view.

W artykule dokonano ogólnej analizy stanu zagrożenia zdrowia i życia ludzi, jako element oceny oddziaływania przedsięwzięcia na środowisko na przykładzie drogi krajowej DK–17 na odcinku Piaski – Hrebenne. Wykonane badania i analizy dla przykładowego odcinka wskazują, że miarą celowości budowy lub przebudowy dróg nie powinien być pojedynczy wskaźnik, jakim jest głównie ochrona przyrody, ale łączne kryteria społeczno-środowiskowe. Istotnym problemem aktualnie wykonywanych raportów o oddziaływaniu dróg na środowisko jest brak pogłębionych ocen z punktu widzenia bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego, które będą stanowiły jednoznaczne kryterium społeczne m.in. wyboru wariantów lokalizacyjnych.
The usefulness of construction the expressway number 17 on the way Piaski and Hrebenne has been analysed in the article. The analysis takes into consideration the environmental impact, inhabitants and drivers as well. The road that has been analysed shows that the cause of roads construction or reconstruction should not concern only individual aspects but all the socio-environmental factors.

The article focuses on the Belt and Road Initiative, which was introduced by the leadership of the People’s Republic of China in 2013, and its political as well as economic implications for Iran China relations. The ongoing implementation of the Chinese initiative raises a few research questions. Would both sides benefit from the cooperation in the BRI framework or would one of them maybe have the upper hand? What are the main opportunities and challenges in the case of China-Iran relations and BRI implementation? The analysis is conducted in the framework of the grand strategy theory. This study is based on primary sources such as official governmental documents, speeches of influential politicians, and official statistical data. Besides these sources, information from secondary sources like monographs and academic articles was taken into consideration.

Na drogach powiatowych niezbędnych jest wiele działań mających na celu poprawę warunków i bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego (brd). Począwszy od uporządkowania szerokości pasów drogowych w celu zapewnienia normatywnych parametrów drogi oraz wszystkich elementów pasa drogowego, poprzez usunięcie niebezpiecznych przeszkód w otoczeniu dróg. W obszarach zabudowanych zbyt bliska zabudowa ogranicza zastosowanie wielu elementów bezpieczeństwa ruchu. Wiele dróg o nawierzchni bitumicznej aby uzyskać parametry klasy Z wymaga przebudowy, natomiast drogi o nawierzchni brukowej oraz gruntowej wymagają wykonania od podstaw. Pilną koniecznością staje się zwiększenie nośności dróg powiatowych, konstrukcje tych dróg nie są przystosowane do przenoszenia dużych obciążeń. W przypadku braku takiej możliwości konieczne staje się wprowadzenie ograniczenia ruchu ciężkich pojazdów na większości dróg powiatowych. W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę problemów dotyczących zarządzania infrastrukturą drogową występujących na sieci dróg powiatowych na przykładzie powiatu bartoszyckiego wraz z propozycjami ich rozwiązywania.
On the poviat roads, many activities are necessary to improve traffic conditions and safety. Starting from arranging the width of road lanes to ensure normative road parameters and all elements of the road lane, by removing the dangerous obstacles in the roadside. In built-up areas, too close development restricts the use of many elements of traffic safety. Many roads with a bituminous surface in order to obtain class Z parameters require reconstruction, while roads with paving and ground work from scratch. It is an urgent necessity to increase the load-bearing capacity of poviat roads, the construction of these roads is not adapted to carry such heavy loads. In the absence of such a possibility, it is necessary to introduce a traffic restriction for heavy vehicles on most poviat roads. The paper presents a description of problems related to road infrastructure management, occurring on the poviat road network on the example of the Bartoszycepoviat with proposals for solving them.

Promotor posoborowej reformy liturgicznej A. Bugnini CM w swoim monumentalnym dziele La riforma liturgica (1948-1975) jako klucz do reformy liturgicznej wymienia: ruch liturgiczny, rozwój nauk liturgicznych, komisję powołaną w 1948 roku przez Piusa XII (1939-1958) i kongres w Asyżu. To świadectwo należy rozszerzyć o bogaty dorobek myśli Piusa XII, a zwłaszcza jego encyklikę Mediator Dei (1947), będącą szczególnym impulsem dla przyszłej reformy liturgicznej, a także międzynarodowe kongresy liturgiczne, które odbywały się od 1951 roku, z największym wydarzeniem, jakim był kongres pastoralno-liturgiczny w Asyżu w 1956 roku. Czas kongresów liturgicznych o wymiarze międzynarodowym w latach pięćdziesiątych był wymownym świadectwem dojrzałości ruchu liturgicznego, który po ukazaniu się encykliki Mediator Dei w 1947 roku stał się oficjalnym ruchem Kościoła. Spotkania kongresowe, z udziałem przedstawicieli Stolicy Apostolskiej, najwybitniejszych specjalistów nauk liturgicznych i zaangażowanych duszpasterzy kształtowały dojrzałe idee odnowy liturgicznej, które w pełnym świetle zaprezentowały się w soborowym schemacie liturgicznym. Podczas gdy redakcje innych schematów soborowych odsyłano do nowych opracowań, schemat liturgiczny z proporcjonalnie mniejszymi poprawkami znalazł od początku uznanie Ojców Soboru. Można twierdzić, że dojrzewał przez wiele dziesięcioleci w klimacie ruchu liturgicznego, a od 1947 roku pod szczególnym patronatem encykliki Piusa XII Mediator Dei, która wytyczyła autentyczne drogi odnowy liturgicznej.
Promoter of the post-conciliar liturgical reform A. Bugnini CM in his monumental work La riforma liturgica (1948-1975) as the key to the reform of the liturgical lists: the liturgical movement, development of the liturgical sciences committee appointed in 1948 by Pope Pius XII (1939-1958) and congress in Assisi. This certificate should be extended to the rich legacy of thought of Pius XII, and especially his encyclical Mediator Dei (1947), which became a special incentive for future liturgical reform, as well as international congresses liturgy, which took place from 1951. The biggest event so far was the Congress pastoral-liturgical in Assisi in 1956. Time of the liturgical conferences with an international dimension in the fifties was an eloquent testimony to the maturity of the liturgical movement, which after the publication of the encyclical Mediator Dei in 1947 became the official church movement. Congress meeting, attended by representatives of the Holy See, the most prominent specialists liturgical teachings and committed pastors, mature ideas shaped the liturgical renewal, which in full view were presented in the conciliar liturgical scheme. While the editorial council of other schemes were sent to new studies, liturgical scheme with proportionately lower amendments found since the beginning of the recognition of the Council Fathers. It can be argued that matured over many decades in the climate of the liturgical movement, and since 1947 under the special patronage of Pope Pius XII's encyclical Mediator Dei, which paved the authentic way of liturgical renewal.

The hippie subculture has created a large number of its own values, signs, symbols, ideas and folklore elements. The hippie movement in Russia, called sistiema, was a manifestation of mainstream‑rejecting activities comparable to the Western countercultural movements of the 1960s. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the subculture significantly modified itself, but the developed traditions, practices and behaviours are still present among certain youth groups. A contemporary take on the hippie culture was presented by Irina Bogatyreva in her debut novel AutoSTOP (2005). This article attempts to analyse its text from the perspective of a continuation of the hippie culture. It also focuses on the contemporary aspects of putting into practice a “hippie utopia”, considered as an alternative to the culture of consumption.

W artykule omówiony został wpływ nierówności podłużnych na trwałość nawierzchni drogowej. Interakcja pojazdu z na-wierzchnią drogową ma charakter dynamiczny. W wyniku nierówności drogi wzbudzane są drgania pojazdu mające wpływ na komfort użytkowników pojazdu, przewożony ładunek oraz trwałość nawierzchni drogowej. W pracy określony został wskaźnik dynamiczny przyrostu oddziaływania na nawierzchnię siłą od drgań pojazdu. Wykorzystany został w tym celu model dyskretny pojazdu ciężkiego.
The article discusses the effect of longitudinal unevenness on the durability of road pavement. The interaction of the vehicle with the road pavement is dynamic. As a result of vehicle unevenness, vehicle vibrations are inducted, affecting the comfort of the vehicle user, the transported load and the durability of the road pavement. The dynamic force from the vibration of the vehicle has been determined. A discrete model of heavy vehicle was used for this purpose.

Przedmiotem rozważań w artykule jest wpływ nierówności jezdni asfaltowej powstałych w wyniku ruchów osuwiskowych na bezpieczeństwo poruszających się po niej pojazdów.
On landslide Tęgoborze - Just in November 2015 they were made vibration test substrate using three-component digital seismometer. Measurements were taken at three different measuring points located within the national road No. 75, which in recent years has been serious damage resulting from the movements of landslide. The source of the vibration was passing on the road truck. The results were interpreted and processed in Matlab. Fourier transform performed by the registered signals which are presented in the frequency domain (spectrum). For each measurement specified dominant frequency, with a scheduled waves power. The subject of discussion in the article is the impact of uneven road caused by movements of landslide on the safety of traveling in the vehicle.

W artykule przedstawiony został problem korzystania z infrastruktury liniowej transportu drogowego jako dobra powszechnego w odniesieniu do którego wprowadzono ograniczenie dostępu i użytkowania. Drogi publiczne pozostają majątkiem ogólnonarodowym (z wyjątkiem części autostrad) dla którego powstania wykorzystano publiczne środki finansowe. Przedmiotowy dostęp w różnej formie limitowany niewątpliwie dzieli użytkowników wspomnianej infrastruktury. Pojawiający się problem niedostatecznej podaży dróg do swobodnego ruchu pojazdów świadczy o niewłaściwościach – paradoksach gospodarczych. Rejestruje się kolejne pojazdy nie przydzielając im odcinków nowych dróg niezbędnych do bezpiecznego poruszania się. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi pierwszą część.
Road transport infrastructure is the state assets providing to the public. Sometimes with the designated extra fee. However usage of this infrastructure can often be only in the limited range. This limitation has an administrative nature. Users are not always interested in accepting all of these restrictions

A road investment requires a strip of land dozens of metres wide, ranging from a distance of several dozen to several hundred kilometres and subject to complex planning and social challenges. Highly complex circumstances bring about conflicts and difficult situations which need to be resolved. This process takes place within the landscape and has a very strong impact on it. It can change an area’s structure and function, make new borders and create new transit space in the shape of a road corridor. A new road becomes a new element of the landscape and at the same time, creates a new opportunity for it to be displayed. While major transformations of an area are designed, landscape architects are consulted only if a road is to pass through a protected area. The violation of an existing protected zone is the only thing that may prompt a comprehensive study of the impact of a road on the landscape, requiring the participation of a landscape architect in design decisions. Otherwise, investment plans will usually forego the inclusion of an assessment on the impact the new road would have on the shape and quality of an area of terrain. Based on the studies of the impact of road investments on the landscape, an assessment of design options are presented together with an approach for the introduction of landscape guidelines for development projects within the context of existing legislation. The studies and the analyses focus on road investments located in areas adjacent to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The studies have become the basis for issuing opinions by the National Centre for Research and Documentation of Historical Monuments.
Inwestycja drogowa wymaga pasa terenu o szerokości kilkudziesięciu metrów rozciągniętego na przestrzeni od kilkudziesięciu do kilkuset kilometrów przebiegającego w skomplikowanych warunkach planistycznych i społecznych. Rzecz się dzieje w krajobrazie i bardzo silnie nań oddziałuje. Zmienia sytuację w odniesieniu do formy obszaru i jego funkcji, kreśli nowe granice i kreuje nową przestrzeń tranzytową w postaci korytarza drogowego. Staje się nowym elementem krajobrazu i jednocześnie stwarza zupełnie nową możliwość jego ekspozycji. W projektowaniu tak znacznych przekształceń przestrzeni architekt krajobrazu zabiera głos tylko w przypadku przebiegu drogi przez teren chroniony. Jedynie naruszenie już ustanowionej strefy chronionej staje się podstawą sporządzenia wyczerpującego studium oddziaływania na krajobraz i współuczestnictwa w decyzjach projektowych. W pozostałych przypadkach ocena wpływu na kształt i jakość przestrzeni może zostać pominięta. Na przykładzie studiów oddziaływania inwestycji drogowej na krajobraz zostaną przedstawione oceny wariantów przebiegu trasy i możliwości wprowadzenia wytycznych krajobrazowych do projektu w kontekście obowiązujących przepisów. Studia i analizy zostały wykonane w następstwie wkroczenia inwestycji drogowych w otoczenie Miejsca Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO i stanowiły materiał będący podstawą zaopiniowania inwestycji.

Działania informacyjne w wymienionym zakresie podejmują organizacje pozarządowe, które zajmują się upowszechnianiem zasad bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego, zasad pierwszej pomocy, udzielaniem wsparcia ofiarom wypadków drogowych. Realizacja tych celów nie byłaby możliwa bez posiadania odpowiednich zasobów finansowych. Artykuł przedstawia źródła finansowania organizacji pozarządowych pożytku publicznego, których celem lub jednym z celów są szeroko rozumiane działania na rzecz bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego.
Road safety is affected by many factors, the most important one being a human. His knowledge about the correct behaviour in different situations, both the everyday ones, and the ones being a consequence of collisions or traffic accidents, is very important. Information activities in the aforementioned scope are undertaken bynon-governmental organisations which deal with the dissemination of road safety rules, first aid rules, and providing support to victims of road safety accidents. Implementation of these objectives would not be possible without the appropriate financial resources. The paper presents the sources of financing non-governmental public utility organisations whose main purpose or one of the purposes are broadly understood traffic safety measures.

The article presents issues related to road traffic organization in the territorial self-government units. The author analyzes such categories as: public roads, road traffic organization, the competences of local government. Considerations include an analysis of the practices to determine the rules of the road traffic, the fundamental principles of establishing and obeying the local law and the relationships between the self-government bodies: the Executive (Mayor, president) and the Legislature of the municipality (Municipal Council). The foundation of the statements made are the most important acts of law, comments of specialists and attitudes of the Supreme Court and administrative courts. The author also relates to the shortcomings in the regulation of this important area of local life.

Opis:
Air pollution emissions from road vehicles majorly contribute to particulate pollution. This poses significant threats to the environment and human health. Road dust contains various potentially toxic elements, which, when exposed to humans, can lead to severe illnesses such as asthma, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. This study assessed adult health risks through accidental ingestion, inhalation, and dermal contact associated with heavy metals (Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn) in road dust (with a fraction size < 0.1 mm). The analysis covers areas between sound-absorbing screens (S), in open spaces without screens (F), and at highway/express exits (E) with different surfaces: asphalt (A) and concrete (C). Results indicate the highest health risk levels are associated with Zn in road dust in S and E areas, indicating its potential negative impact on human health. When comparing results for all metals, road dust collected from A surfaces might pose a greater health risk than C surfaces. The carcinogenic risk for Cr and Ni found in road dust collected from A and C surfaces at points S, F, and E is medium. The most significant carcinogenic risk (medium-high) is associated with Cr in road dust from A surfaces in the F area, whereas the lowest risk (low-medium) for both A and C surfaces is linked to Ni exposure in the S point. The contributions of Cr and Ni highlight the need to reduce emissions of these elements in areas surrounding heavily trafficked roads.

Bezpieczeństwo ruchu drogowego (BRD) jest zagadnieniem odnoszącym się do systemów transportu drogowego, które są systemami socjotechnicznymi typu człowiek – obiekt techniczny (pojazd) – otoczenie, . Wszystkie czynniki występują w bezpośredniej synergii o różnym nasileniu. BRD zależy więc od wielu zmiennych, począwszy od cech charakteru człowieka oraz jego zdolności psychomotorycznych, poprzez sprawność oraz parametry obiektu technicznego, a skończywszy na stanie infrastruktury drogowej – jednym z głównych elementów otoczenia. W pracy podjęto próbę oceny oddziaływania otoczenia na bezpieczeństwo ruchu drogowego.
In hereby work was described the influence of the road infrastructure on the road traffic safety. Road traffic safety is a problem relating to road transport systems which are social engineering systems of the type the man – the technical object – the environment. This paper attempts to evaluate especially the impact of the environment of the road on traffic road safety.

The article aims to show the next points of contact between public law and private law by presenting the civil and administrative legal effects of the decision on the permit for the implementation of a road investment (including its amendment and repeal), referred to in the Act of April 10, 2003, on special rules for the preparation of and implementation of investments in the field of public roads. The reason for the author to analyze the topic was the fact that the author has noticed the increasingly stronger interpenetration of the areas of public law and private law and problems encountered in legal practice. The article is a synthesis of the civil and administrative legal consequences – sometimes unintentional – of issuing and changing the decision on the permit for the implementation of a road investment, which have their source in the unilateral, imperative action of a competent public administration body. It is also another voice in the discussion on the advisability of the classic division into the two oldest branches of law.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the motifs of the biblical water of life and the Arthurian waste land in the context of Cormac McCarthy’s novel The Road. The novel’s characters, living in a post-apocalyptic world heading towards annihilation, struggle to survive not only biologically, but also morally, spiritually. As it seems, through a reference to the aforementioned motifs it becomes possible to better understand the value system which The Road’s characters observe. Thus, the water of life, one of the major biblical symbols, is connected to rebirth and fertility; and although McCarthy’s world is permeated by instances of the water of death, the demonic counterpart of the water of life, the novel’s protagonists through their acts resembling baptism attempt to evoke the symbolic meaning of water rites, in this sense partially bringing harmony back to the world. On the other hand, the waste land motif echoes the ritual meant to sustain nature’s vitality, and from which the legends of Perceval and the waste land originate. The reference to these legends creates also certain parallels between both legendary and the novel’s characters, which might be important for the understanding of McCarthy’s piece. Finally, the waste land motif makes it possible to compare The Road to T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land. As it seems, both these texts raise the issue of sustaining the memory of the old, non-existent worlds in order to save morality and spirituality in another world – the one which is destroyed. Arguably, such a message might be enigmatically stated in the last paragraph of The Road.
Artykuł ma na celu zanalizowanie motywów biblijnej wody życia oraz występującej w legendach arturiańskich jałowej ziemi w kontekście powieści Cormaca McCarthy’ego Droga. Bohaterowie utworu, umiejscowieni w postapokaliptycznym, zmierzającym ku zagładzie świecie, starają się przetrwać nie tylko biologicznie, ale również moralnie i duchowo. Przez odwołanie do wyżej wymienionych motywów, jak się wydaje, możliwe staje się głębsze zrozumienie systemu wartości, jakimi kierują się bohaterowie Drogi. Woda życia zatem, jeden z głównych symboli biblijnych, kojarzona jest z odrodzeniem i urodzajem; i chociaż w świecie McCarthy’ego czytelnik spotyka raczej przykłady wody śmierci, demonicznego odpowiednika wody życia, bohaterowie powieści przez akty przypominające chrzest starają się przywrócić symboliczne znaczenie rytuałów związanych z wodą, w ten sposób przynajmniej po części przywracając dawny porządek rzeczy. Z drugiej strony motyw jałowej ziemi przywołuje rytuał mający na celu podtrzymać żywotność natury, który jest niejako zalążkiem arturiańskich legend o Percevalu i jałowej krainie. Odwołanie do tychże legend tworzy również istotne dla rozumienia całej powieści paralele między postaciami legendarnymi i bohaterami Drogi. Wreszcie, wspomniany motyw pozwala powiązać dzieło McCarthy’ego z poematem Ziemia jałowa T. S. Eliota. Jak się wydaje, oba te utwory podnoszą kwestię podtrzymywania pamięci o dawnym, nieistniejącym już świecie w celu ocalenia moralności i duchowości w zniszczonym świecie. Owo przesłanie, jak się wydaje, może zawierać się w ostatnim, enigmatycznym akapicie Drogi.

The issue of aggressiveness on the road today is a huge problem. Accidents with participation of drunken drivers, verbal hassles are a common view on the Polish streets nowadays. Statistics show that young drivers are the most often causers of such behaviour. Statistics of road accidents show that driver with age becomes more responsible, less inclined towards aggression on the road. But is it really so? Certainly in a large compound with aggressive behaviours are personality determi-nants. Parenting is also factor connected with such behaviour. The drivers, who are parents travelling with their own children in the vehicle, control their emotions, on the one hand, and show more patience on the other, have less tendency to an ag-gressive behaviour. The application is the thesis that parenthood, is a significant factor that modulates the aggressive behaviour on the road.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie dylematów i postaw polskiego rządu związanych z uczestnictwem w chińskiej inicjatywie Belt and Road. Tezą pracy jest twierdzenie, że inicjatywa Belt and Road podzieliła główny nurt dyskursu publicznego na dwa główne wątki: opcję o optymistycznym nastawieniu – dostrzegającą szanse partycypacji w tej inicjatywie oraz dyskurs pesymistyczny – ukazujący zagrożenia dla bezpieczeństwa państwa polskiego. Autorzy odpowiedzą na następujące pytania badawcze: jak BRI jest przedstawiana w polskim dyskursie publicznym? Jakie są główne szanse i wyzwania wynikające z przystąpienia Polski do inicjatywy? Dokonana zostanie także analiza danych zastanych wszelkiego rodzaju płaszczyzn relacji polsko-chińskich.
The aim of the article is to show the dilemmas related to the Poland’s participation in the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. The theory behind the paper is that the Belt and Road Initiative has divided the mainstream of public discourse into two main threads: an optimistic option – one that sees opportunities in the participation in the initiative – and a pessimistic one, highlighting the threats to the security of the Polish state. The authors will answer the following research questions: how is the BRI presented in the Polish public discourse?
