Purpose Investigation of the current state and determination of the role of information systems and technologies in the management of the enterprise to increase the effi ciency of making managerial decisions. Methods Th e work used such general scientifi c methods as observation, comparison, generalization, abstraction, formalization, analysis, synthesis, deduction and induction, analogy, systemic methods, and others. Results Th e introduction and use of information systems and technologies is an indispensable condition for the activities of a modern enterprise. It facilitates the adoption of sound management decisions: increasing the competitiveness of an enterprise and enhancing economic security. Th is will not only ensure the eff ectiveness of making managerial decisions in the activities of the enterprise, and as a consequence will be a guarantee of the development of the country’s economy. Discussion Th e development of the world economy is greatly infl uenced by the dynamic development of the world market of information systems and technologies, as the introduction of new information systems and technologies makes it possible to increase the effi ciency of using enterprise resources, optimize business processes of production, facilitate the exchange of information, and much more. Th e use of information systems and technologies by enterprises in their work allows solving tasks from operational management to improving the eff ectiveness of making managerial decisions.

Przedsiębiorstwa są jednym z głównych podmiotów gospodarki krajowej. W Polsce przeważają przedsiębiorstwa zatrudniające nie więcej niż dziesięć osób (96%), w których pracuje 39%, a których przychody satnowią 22% ogółu. Celem artykułu jest analiza struktury wielkości przedsiębiorstw w Polsce mierzonej udziałem poszczególnych grup w ilości przedsiębiorstw, w zatrudnieniu i w przychodach ogółem. Wykorzystano dane ze strony internetowej GUS. Badania przeprowadzono wykorzystując metodę Chomątowskiego i Sokołowskiego. Zróżnicowanie międzywojewódzkie struktury wielkościowej przedsiębiorstw jest umiarkowane.
Enterprises are one of the main elements in economy. Magnitude of the enterprise makes influence into benefit to neighbourhood. In the amount structure smallest enterprises prevail. In the employment and revenues structure prevail bigger enterprises. Differences between voivodships are restrained. Keywords: enterprise, magnitude of the enterprise, economics structure

Opis:
Organizational management processes reflect capital allocation in a given business as well as in the macroeconomic space at large. In practice, macroeconomic forces acting on a given economy will depend on economic policy pursued by the state. Under the currently prevalent neoliberal outlook on market economy and its mechanisms, the impact of macroeconomic forces is confined to creating a specific socio-economic environment in which businesses operate, and to defining the economic content of (the category of) production efficiency. The paper attempts to depict the influence of macroeconomic forces on the criteria for assessing business performance that impinge indirectly on corporate management processes. The discussion leads to a proposition that while macroeconomic policy founded on neoliberal premises might well be conducive to business activity, it could be, in the long run, detrimental to individuals and to society at large.

Liquidity indicators – both current and immediate - are regarded as too static to clearly state whether their changes – either increase or decrease – affect favourably or adversely the enterprise profitability. In the article a hypothesis is verified that a drop in liquidity leads to an increase in the enterprise profitability. The research uses a group of enterprises quoted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The relationships between traditional liquidity indicators (current and immediate) as well as currency conversion cycle and measures of profitability are also considered. The article provides the reader with general conclusions formed on the basis of the investigation.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest ocena rozwiązań przyjętych w związku z wprowadzeniem do systemu prawa polskiego instytucji zarządu sukcesyjnego w kontekście jej wpływu na postępowanie klauzulowe i egzekucyjne. W pierwszej kolejności przedstawiony zostanie cel zarządu sukcesyjnego oraz status zarządcy sukcesyjnego. W następnej części artykułu instytucja zarządcy sukcesyjnego zostanie poddana analizie porównawczej w stosunku do innych przykładów zarządców masy spadkowej. W końcu, przedstawione zostaną skutki prawne związane z powołaniem zarządcy sukcesyjnego na bieg postępowania egzekucyjnego. Rozważania będą dotyczyły także zakresu legitymacji zarządcy sukcesyjnego do wzięcia udziału w postępowaniu klauzulowym i egzekucyjnym.
The subject of the article is the assessment of solutions adopted in connection with the entry into force of the succession administration institution into the Polish law system in the context of its impact on the clause-enforcement and enforcement proceedings. First, the goal of succession administration and the status of succession administrator will be presented. In the next part of the article, the institution of succession administrator will be subject to a comparative analysis in relation to other examples of succession property administrators. Finally, the legal consequences of establishing a succession administrator for enforcement proceedings will be presented. The considerations will also concern the scope of the succession administrator’s legal standing to take part in the clauseenforcement and enforcement proceedings.

The paper presents the results of the research and evaluation of the factors influence the diffusion of the enterprise innovation activity results. The author singled out: market volume of the diffusion object, market diversity, the level of market competence, the character of the object of diffusion, the quality and price of the object of diffusion, the level of development of market communications, the level of development of the management system of the enterprise-diffuser, the level of information safety development, the level of enterprise-diffuser creativity. The application of expert method (the method of the immediate evaluation and the method of pairwise comparisons) we have evaluated the validity and dimension of these factors influence on the process of diffusion. The results were statistically analysed using the program Statistica 8.0. Taking into account processed data of expert evaluations we have built a classification of the above mentioned factors influence the diffusion of the results of enterprise innovational activity according to the characteristics of the influence power, the environment of appearance, character and the ability to regulate.

This article is dedicated to the influence help may have on entrepreneurs and how it is perceived by them as affecting the effectiveness of their operations. This analysis is based on examples illustrating the various forms of assistance and how these are perceived by their beneficiaries. The article suggests criteria for judging whether a given activity is of a helpful nature, regardless of how a beneficiary may see it. It also attempts to explain the commonly observed phenomenon of entrepreneurs banishing from their minds all recognition of the fact that they are taking advantage of assistance, based on the well-known theory from social psychology called the „Theory of cognitive dissonance”. This points to the possibly negative effect of the tendency by the businessman to banish from his mind objective facts on the various aspects of his firm's operations, such as assessment of investment decisions or the fulfillment of obligations. This article also applies to practices applied by many organizations specializing in the distribution of assistance for entrepreneurs that fail to attach any importance to their beneficiaries understanding the assistance nature of their offer, thus fostering an incorrect and harmful interpretation by entrepreneurs.

Opis:
Family business in their activity are led by both typical economic objectives and specific goals related to family nature of property. The aim of this paper is to present the relevance of family business objectives and the factors which determinate individual goals. The research were carried out using a questionnaire interviews on a sample of 396 family businesses from Poland. The results show that there is a hierarchy of objectives in enterprises. Family businesses are more keen to long-term existence and economic independence. There is no clear impact of certain features of the company on different business objectives.
Przedsiębiorstwa rodzinne kierują się w swojej działalności zarówno typowymi celami ekonomicznymi, jak i specyficznymi, związanymi z rodzinnym charakterem własności. Celem prezentowanych badań jest określenie znaczenia celów działalności przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych i czynników determinujących kierowanie się poszczególnymi celami. Badania zostały przeprowadzone z wykorzystaniem wywiadów kwestionariuszowych na ogólnopolskiej próbie 396 przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych. Ich wyniki wskazują na występowanie hierarchii celów w przedsiębiorstwach. Przedsiębiorstwa rodzinne przywiązują szczególną wagę do istnienia w długim okresie i niezależności ekonomicznej. Nie zidentyfikowano jednoznacznego wpływu określonych charakterystyk przedsiębiorstwa na kierowanie się poszczególnymi celami.

Introduction/background: The issue of company valuation is undoubtedly one of the very complex, poorly recognizable and controversial. Theories of estimating the cost of capital are characterized by high dynamics of development resulting from new experiences and challenges arising from the practice of valuation. It should be noted, however, that the application of the cost of capital in the practice of economic activity still leaves much to be desired. Aim of the paper: This work focuses on the theoretical aspects of the cost of capital and practical issues in terms of how it is determined in developed capital markets. Materials and methods: A company capital structure essentially – its blend of equity and debt financing – is a significant factor in valuing the business. In this research we demonstrated that the WACC method, generally reflects the return that hypothetical investors require. This work is conducted to bridge several methods: type of investment decisions, purpose of the capital, management plans. Results and conclusions: A company's capital structure fluctuates over time as the effect of change in equity securities and its debts. We believe it is appropriate to use optimal capital structure if the business environment activity temporarily has veered off of actual capital structure.

When power is exercised in the enterprise some ethical issues might occur with business ownership, personnel policy, working conditions etc. These issues and ways of addressing them were depicted and interpreted from the perspective of the Church’s social teachings included in papal encyclicals, viz.: Rerum novarum, Laborem exercens, Centesimus Annus. In the Church’s social teachings a number of principles were noticed that are favourable for the ethical corporate management including the principle of the primacy of work over capital, right to private ownership, right to establish professional associations, right to fair pay, right to fulfil religious obligations and having rest during holidays, a duty to support the weak and the needy (solidarity principle). The analysis of the social content of papal encyclicals showed two faces of power. On the one hand it is necessary and has positive effects (introduction of corporate governance, taking right decisions, prevention of theft and assets devastation etc.); on the other hand improper power exercise may lead to a number of undesirable effects (corruption, worker discrimination, thriftlessness etc.) The paper identifies also sources, forms and power exercising planes in the enterprise.

Opis:
The issues of the resource capital constitutes an important subject of the financial analysis of the enterprise’s market value. Its task is among other things the realistic estimate of the resource capital and its impact on the development of the enterprise’s market value come into a relevant prominence. The fundamental purpose of this article is to demonstrate the strength and character of the correlation between the volumes formed in terms of the Polish capital market. The review of the hypothesis on strong relation between the level and structure of the resource capital and the enterprise’s market value, has been conducted on the basis of the analysing Polish partnerships of the industrial sector which are quoted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The surveys of correlations and their significance have been preceded by the theoretical deliberations upon the essence of the major factors which determine enterprise’s market value.

W artykule przedstawiono różnice w sposobie kształtowania wartości wskaźników z obszaru zadłużenia pomiędzy małymi, średnimi a dużymi przedsiębiorstwami. W trakcie przeprowadzonych badań uwzględniono 97 471 sprawozdań finansowych przedsiębiorstw, prowadzących działalność gospodarczą w 12 różnych działach polskiej gospodarki narodowej. Dla potwierdzenia zróżnicowania zadłużenia, w zależności od wielkości przedsiębiorstwa, wykorzystano test nieparametryczny Kruskala-Wallisa. Przeprowadzone badania dowiodły, że polskie mikro- i małe przedsiębiorstwa charakteryzują się niższym poziomem zadłużenia długoterminowego oraz zadłużenia liczonego w latach od jednostek gospodarczych średniej i dużej wielkości. W artykule zawarto również porównanie literaturowych wartości wzorcowych dla wskaźników z obszaru zadłużenia z wartościami rzeczywiście kształtowanymi przez krajowe firmy.
The article presents the differences between the manner of forming the values of debt ratios between small, medium and large enterprises. The research was conducted taking into consideration 97 471 financial statements of enterprises, running economic activity in 12 different sectors of Polish domestic economy. The Kruskal- -Wallis nonparametric test was used for confirming the variety of the debt depending on the size of the enterprise. The conducted research proved that Polish micro- and small enterprises create the lower values of debt ratios then medium and large enterprises. Moreover, the article includes a comparison between the literature reference values for debt ratios and the actual values achieved by the domestic companies.
