An applied research project is presented, expressed in the design and creation of a database for the company Minera Tierra Adentro (MTA), which belongs to the mining-metallurgical sector of Mexico. This database is designed to implement a Sustainable Management Model (SMM) in the operating units of the sector. The SMM provides an opportunity to observe, measure, and evaluate four Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 16 legislative parameters. Divided into two modules, the database is based, in the first instance covering the territorial sector in Mexico, on an algorithm that represents a qualitative selection technique: pairwise comparison, which allows prioritizing more than 3000 active units, so that MTA offers the implementation of the model. As a second module, the database shows the record of quantifiable elements of the SDGs and legislative parameters collected, This allows, through calculation algorithms, to interpret and express the obtained information in different formats, since by means of an export of data to Excel, the unit staff can use, interpret, include the information in registers, assessments or official documents, such as the Environmental Impact Statement (EIM) requested by government agencies. Therefore, this document presents the interfaces created for the two modules that complement the database in which MTA will manage the implementation of the SMM.

The travel and tourism industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in the world. In the case of countries like Georgia, where tourism is a priority sector of the economy, innovation is crucial for a tourism-based development strategy — and this has become particularly important in the post-pandemic realities. This paper proposes a certain framework for understanding the possibilities for harnessing technological innovations in the travel industry (particularly apps and websites). It then considers the specific example of the country of Georgia, outlining the state's measures meant to foster IT innovation in tourism and also certain moderate successes to date in this respect. Next, the paper looks to Russian tourist-sector start-ups as models for operation that be successfully harnessed in the Georgian tourism industry, examining several such Russian start-ups in closer detail.

Opis:
The study entails an examination of the factors needed for the emergence of business innovation, in the context of a developing economy, based on representative data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2021. Drawing on the theories in the literature, the impact mechanism of the entrepreneurial innovation development in our model has been assumed to involve a three-sided impact. The study builds on the entrepreneurial side effects, based on the classical Schumpeterian theory as well as incorporating the enterprises’ productive-side effects into the model, defining the model as resultant from socioeconomic macrocontext effects. The analysis of our model has been tested and analyzed using partial least squares - structural equation modeling and the necessary condition analysis. Our results show that business innovation requires not one factor, but a combination of factors. The system needs visionary entrepreneurs, who can stimulate innovation, along the concept of sustainability. An economically prosperous business with international connections which views challenges as opportunities, however, also constitutes an important factor providing proper framework for new products and services. Adequacy of the socio-economic macro-context is essential as well, as it too contributes to the development of entrepreneurship and thus to the creation of entrepreneurial innovation.

Celem opracowania było przedstawienie działań doradczych podejmowanych w Kujawsko-Pomorskim Ośrodku Doradztwa Rolniczego (KPODR) dla transferu innowacji technologicznych do gospodarstw rolniczych. Źródłem danych były dokumenty i dane sprawozdawcze KPODR z lat 2011-2013. Ośrodek pełni ważną rolę w regionie dla transferu innowacji technologicznych do gospodarstw rolniczych. Doradcy podejmują wiele działań (obejmujących: porady, szkolenia, konferencje, opracowania, lustracje w gospodarstwach, pokazy, poletka demonstracyjne i konkursy) mających pokonać opory rolników wobec zmian, przybliżyć im nowe technologie produkcji i przekonać do ich wykorzystania w gospodarstwach. W wyniku tego rolnicy województwa uzyskują wiedzę pozwalającą na zastosowanie innowacji w gospodarstwach.
The aim of the study was to provide guidance activities undertaken in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Agricultural Advisory Centre for the transfer of technological innovations to the farms. The data source was KPODR documents from the years 2011-2013. KPODR plays an important role in the region for the transfer of technological innovations to farms. Advisors take a lot of activities (including advice, training, conferences, studies, audits on farms, shows, demonstrations and competitions) which aim in overcoming farmers resistance to changes, introduce them to new production technologies and to convince them to use the solutions on their farms. As a result, farmers of this region gain important knowledge which allowes them to use the innovation actions on their farms.

Artykuł skupia się na przedstawieniu głównych założeń polityki innowacyjnej Unii Europejskiej, wynikających z dwóch ważnych programów Unii – strategii lizbońskiej i strategii Europa 2020. Składa się z trzech części, wprowadzenia i zakończenia. Pierwsza część zawiera definicję polityki przemysłowej, druga prezentuje podstawowe założenia polityki innowacyjnej Unii, a trzecia skupia się na roli sektora usług we współczesnej gospodarce unijnej i proponowanych rozwiązaniach mających wzmocnić innowacje pochodzące z tego sektora.
The article presents main assumptions of the innovation policy in the EU, based on two vital European programmes – the Lisbon Strategy and the strategy Europe 2020. The article consists of three parts. The first one includes the definition of the industrial policy, the second focuses on the main assumptions of the EU’s innovation policy, the third part concentrates on the role of the service sector in the contemporary economy of the EU as well as suggested solutions aiming at enhancing innovations coming from this sector.

This paper explores the historical challenge of social inclusion relying on the example of the Japanese social security system. The current public assistance system in Japan is grounded on the Public Assistance Act of 1951, which was originally constituted in 1946 and already declared equal treatment of all citizens. We will focus on a hidden aspect in this introductory period of the public assistance system, the actual situations of people who depend on it. We have digitally restored a survey data for households receiving public assistance. This data was collected in a Japanese prefecture in 1952. The results of this survey indicate that differences in poverty by gender are remarkable. For male householders, the total number of events that caused the onset of public assistance, principally injured or diseases, in 1950 or 1951 was more than that of 1944 or 1945. On the other hand, for female householders, the events of 1944 or 1945 were related to the Second World War, principally the death of male breadwinners, which induced poverty. Moreover, we broke down recipients by gender, age, and household types and revealed, in particular, two facts. First, many widows were receiving public assistance, but not all had lost their spouses in the war. Second, the largest age cluster of recipients was composed of children in the compulsory education age group. The increasing inclusion of the ‘standard’ type of household indicates the success of the Public Assistance Act’s universalism. This digitally restored sample has much potential to provide detailed descriptions of life courses and information on the jobs of household members.

Celem zaprezentowanych badań była identyfikacja poziomu innowacyjności gazel biznesu jako przedsiębiorstw, charakteryzujących się nadzwyczaj wysoką dynamiką wzrostu. Analizie poddano innowacyjność zarządzania oraz innowacyjność technologiczną tych przedsiębiorstw i porównano jej poziom z innymi podmiotami. Ponadto badania ukierunkowane były na odkrycie związków innowacyjności zarządzania z wynikami gazel biznesu. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że zarówno innowacyjność zarządzania, jak i technologiczna polskich gazel biznesu, mierzona przyjętymi miarami, jest relatywnie niższa niż pozostałych przedsiębiorstw objętych badaniami. Stwierdzono słaby wpływ innowacji zarządczych na wyniki osiągane przez te firmy, mierzone z zastosowaniem wskaźników finansowych i pozafinansowych. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na konieczność kontynuowania badań gazel biznesu, aby odkryć kluczowe czynniki dynamicznego wzrostu tych firm.
This paper presents research results regarding innovation of so-called gazelles, being entrepreneurial companies characterised by extremely high growth. We analysed management innovation and technological innovation of gazelles in compari son to other enterprises. In addition, we focused on relationship between management innovation and economic and financial performance of gazelles. The study shows that both management and technological innovation of gazelles, assessed using given metrics, is relatively lower than in case of other companies covered by the research. Little impact of management innovation on economic and financial performance was discovered. Research results points to the need to continue research regarding gazelles in order to uncover key factors in the dynamic growth of these companies.

Social innovation is not characterized by specific models of their implementation. For this reason theoretical and practical analysis of the management of their implementation have been made. The project RECreationof Szczecin Culture Incubator helped to define the specificity of social innovation. Particular attention was paid to the life cycle of social innovation, the commercialization models, and the drivers of innovation. The authors point to the possibility of applicability of social innovations in various types of organizations.
Innowacje społeczne nie charakteryzują się określonymi modelami ich wdrażania, z tego też względu dokonano teoretycznej i praktycznej analizy zarządzania ich wdrażaniem. Projekt REKreacja Szczecińskiego Inkubator Kultury posłużył do określenia specyfiki innowacji społecznych. Zwrócono szczególną uwagę na cykl życia innowacji społecznych, modele komercjalizacji, jak i aspekty będące motorem innowacji. Autorki wskazują na możliwość wdrażania innowacji społecznych w różnego rodzaju organizacjach.
