This article presents tools used in the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) which are useful when assessing the evolution direction of technical systems. The following matters are discussed: the S-shaped curve, laws (trends and lines) of the evolution of technical systems, multi-screen diagrams, as well as analysis of evolutionary potential. Inventive laws formulated by Gienrich Altshuller as well as laws previously formulated by a Polish writer and promoter of knowledge, Aleksander Głowacki, writing under the pen name Bolesław Prus, have been presented. Finally the innovation roadmaps have been shown. The use of individual tools has been supported by practical examples taken from research performed by the authors, and the usefulness of individual methods was evaluated. All methods have been compared and evaluated.

An exchange rate can be expressed in the form of a binary-temporal representation. Such a representation is based on a discretization of movements in the exchange rate, in which to each change in the value - equal to a given discretization unit – two parameters are allocated: a binary value, consistent with the direction of change in the exchange rate (increase 1, decrease 0) and duration. Statistical examination proves the existence of dependencies between the parameters of previous changes and the direction of future changes. To model the exchange rate using the applied binary-temporal representation, an appropriate model was developed that enables estimation of the probability of the direction of future changes in the currency exchange rate based on the parameters of historical changes. This article presents an analysis of the influence of the chosen discretization unit on the quality of exchange rate modelling. For this purpose, software was written in MQL4 and C++. As a result of the study, an optimal value for the discretization unit and the optimal parameters of the model providing the highest efficiency were determined. The input data used in the analysis involved tick data for the AUD/NZD exchange rate for a five-year time frame 2012–2017.

The paper presents a methodology for modeling the processes of absorptive separation of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the power plant flue gases. The absorption systemsof two supercritical power plants with the capacity of 460 MW and 600 MW were selected for the study. The process of CO2 separation from flue gases by means of chemical absorption with the use of monoethanolamine and NH3 aqueous solutions was analysed. The power plant demands for power needed for the separation, compression and transport of CO2 to the disposal site was determined. The effects of absorptive separation of CO2 for the power plant were determined, and an economic analysis of such an undertaking was conducted.

The aim of the article is to investigate the impact of algorithmic trading on the returns obtained in the context of market efficiency theory. The research hypothesis is that algorithmic trading can contribute to a better rate of return than when using passive investment strategies. Technological progress can be observed in many different aspects of our lives, including investing in capital markets where we can see changes resulting from the spread of new technologies. The methodology used in this paper consists in confronting a sample trading system based on classical technical analysis tools with a control strategy consisting in buying securities at the beginning of the test period and holding them until the end of this period. The results obtained confirm the validity of the theory of information efficiency of the capital market, as the active investment strategy based on algorithmic trading did not yield better results than the control strategy.

The enterprise assessment is used to verify its activity and is a point of departure to make future decisions. The assessment quality depends on its executor’s knowledge, experience and capabilities. Enterprises have adopted an assessment performance method based on their needs and activity specifics. In the ever changing environment the applied enterprise assessment algorithm should be progressively improved. The present enterprise assessment satisfies its basic needs but is not sufficient. The assessment should be enriched by a number of elements that will consider the enterprise logistic system multidimensionality. Numerous factors and their mutual relations should be taken into account in the assessment. This makes it necessary to form a pattern of the enterprise assessment algorithm that would function as a guide.

The development of conventional and unconventional natural gas reservoir management includes continuous monitoring of hydrocarbon exploitation processes and its impact on the reservoir and environment. Raman spectroscopy, which allows for the identification of reservoir fluids (including natural gas) components can be a very promising method for the application of providing a quick, non-invasive, nondestructive analysis. The proposed in this paper measurement methods are focused on the use of:– a laboratory cell (autoclave) with sapphire window mounted on a specially prepared bypass pipeline;– a dedicated Raman probe mounted to the available installed stub pipe;– the construction of a special measurement cell. The article presents the basic technical assumptions for measurements of the composition of natural gas with the use Raman spectroscopy.

W artykule przedstawiono przegląd metodologii oceny stanu technicznego warstwy fakturowej w trójwarstwowych elementach ściennych budownictwa wielkopłytowego oraz wyniki analizy obliczeniowej bezpieczeństwa warstwy fakturowej obciążonej dodatkowo ciężarem ocieplenia. W obliczeniach uwzględniono potencjalne wady materiałowo-wykonawcze (zmiana średnicy wieszaków m.in. wskutek korozji, zastosowanie różnych gatunków stali).
The article presents the methodology review pertaining to the assessment of the technical status of the textured layer in the three-layered wall elements of the ‘great panel’ buildings, along with the results of the calculation analysis regarding safety of the textured layer which additionally needs to bear the load imposed by the thermal insulation. The calculation did take into account the potential faulty materials or execution of the works (change in the diameter of the hangers resulting from corrosion, using different steel-types).

Kurs pary walutowej można zobrazować w postaci reprezentacji binarnej. Algorytm binaryzacji zamienia kurs reprezentowany przez dane tikowe na odpowiedni ciąg binarny. Podstawą algorytmu jest dyskretyzacja kursu, w której każdej zmianie wartości, równej zadanej jednostce dyskretyzacji, jest przypisywana wartość binarna zgodna z kierunkiem zmiany kursu. Badania statystyczne przeprowadzone przez autora potwierdziły istnienie zależności w binarnej reprezentacji kursu między historycznymi zmianami a dalszym kierunkiem zmian. Reprezentowany binarnie kurs może być zatem wykorzystany do wyznaczania kierunku i zakresu przyszłych zmian, a w konsekwencji budowy systemów HFT charakteryzujących się dodatnią stopą zwrotu. Jedną z podstawowych metod analizy technicznej jest analiza falowa. W artykule przedstawiono zastosowanie analizy falowej dla reprezentacji binarnej. W tym celu zaproponowano algorytmy pozwalające na detekcje fal, następnie dokonano analizy odpowiednich parametrów fal oraz ich wpływu na kierunek przyszłych zmian kursu walutowego USD/PLN. Proces binaryzacji kursu i algorytm wyznaczania fal został przeprowadzony na podstawie oprogramowania napisanego przez autora w języku MQL4 i C++.
The exchange rate of a currency pair can be represented in a binary form. The binarization algorithm converts rates presented in tick data into an appropriate binary string. The basis for this algorithm is provided by an exchange rate discretization, in which each change in value equal to a given discretization unit is assigned a binary value, which corresponds to the direction of change. Statistical research performed by the author confirms dependencies of previous changes and future change of direction in binary representation of exchange rates. Thus, the binary representation can be applied in appointing the direction and scope of future changes, and consequently in the construction of HFT systems with positive rates of return. Wave analysis is one of the basic methods of technical analysis. The paper presents the application of wave analysis for binary representation. For this purpose, algorithms for wave detection are proposed, followed by the analysis of relevant wave parameters and their impact on the direction of future changes in the USD / PLN exchange rate. The binarization process and algorithm for appointing pairs is performed based on the author’s proprietary software written in the MQL4 and C++ language.

W artykule przedstawiono rezultaty analizy kursu walutowego, przeprowadzonej na podstawie modelu stanowego reprezentacji binarno-czasowej. Podstawą tej reprezentacji jest dyskretyzacja kursu, w której każdej zmianie wartości, równej zadanej jednostce dyskretyzacji, są przypisywane dwa parametry: wartość binarna, zgodna z kierunkiem zmiany kursu, oraz czas jej trwania. Do modelowania kursu wykorzystano stanowy model reprezentacji binarno-czasowej, pozwalający na estymację rozkładu prawdopodobieństwa kierunku zmian kursu walutowego w zależności od zmian historycznych. Do analizy wykorzystano 5-letnie dane tickowe kursu EUR/PLN. W rezultacie potwierdzono istnienie zależności pomiędzy kolejnością, kierunkiem oraz czasem trwania poprzedzających zmian kursu a prawdopodobieństwem kierunku przyszłej zmiany.
In the following article results of an exchange rate course analysis are presented, performed based on a state model of binary-temporal representation. Base for this kind of representation is course discretization, in which for every course change equal to a given discretization unit, two parameters are assigned, that is binary value corresponding to the direction of a change, and its duration. In order to model the trajectory, a state model of binary-temporal representation was used, allowing for approximation of the future direction of changes, depending on the change history. Tick data for EUR/PLN pair in a five-year period was used for the analysis. Preformed research confirmed existence of relations between the order, direction and duration of previous changes and the probability of future direction of a change.

Olej spełnia trzy podstawowe funkcje w układzie smarowania: smaruje, przez co chroni części maszyny przed zużyciem i zmniejsza tarcie; czyści, czyli zmywa powierzchnię i transportuje zanieczyszczenia i chłodzi - odprowadza ciepło i chroni przed korozją. W wyniku spełniania tych funkcji możemy uznać, że olej jest elementem konstrukcyjnym maszyny. Okazuje się jednak, że najsłabszym, z uwagi na wysoką wrażliwość i podatność na uszkodzenia we wszystkich fazach "życia", najszybsze zużycie, czy wysokie narażenie na destrukcję. Z uwagi na jego cenę w stosunku do innych elementów maszyny jest również poddawany największej ilości eksperymentów. Najistotniejszym jest jednak to, że pomimo swoich słabości pojawia się w obiegu każdej części urządzenia i jest najprostszym nośnikiem informacji o jego stanie technicznym.

Celem artykułu jest porównanie poziomu rozwoju infrastruktury technicznej w województwach Polski. Badanie przeprowadzono wykorzystując metodę wzorca rozwoju Z. Hellwiga oraz metodę sum standaryzowanych wartości. Utworzono także grupy województw o podobnym poziomie rozwoju infrastruktury technicznej. Zgodnie z wynikami analizy dokonanej na podstawie pięciu wskaźników z roku 2013 infrastruktura techniczna jest najlepiej rozwinięta w województwach dolnośląskim i śląskim, zaś najgorzej w województwach warmińsko-mazurskim, lubelskim, podlaskim oraz świętokrzyskim.
The purpose of the article is to compare Polish voivodeships in terms of technical infrastructure development level. The research was made using a development model proposed by Z. Hellwig and the method of standardized sums. Groups of voivedeships with a similar development level of the technical infrastructure were created as well. According to the results of the analysis made on the basis of five indicators from 2013 technical infrastructure is best developed in the Dolnośląskie and Śląskie Voivodeships, whereas the worst in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Lubelskie, Podlaskie and Świętokrzyskie Voivodeships.

Charakteryzuje je prosta konstrukcja i łatwa obsługa. Celem pracy była ocena wydajności użytkowania mikrociągników jednoosiowych. Zakres pracy obejmował analizę rozwiązań technicznych wspomagających wydajność użytkowania mikrociągników jednoosiowych. Rozwiązania techniczne w sposób znaczący poprawiają wydajność użytkową zestawów roboczych z mikrociągnikiem.
There an analysis of the technical solutions of small tractors was made. This analysis was done, because a lot of small tractors are very popular in the market with used agricultural machines, machines for gardening, horticulture, municipal management and for maintenance of green areas. The advantage of small tractors is simple construction and easy operation. The aim of this study was evaluation of operation performance of uniaxial walking tractor. Scope of this study included analysis of technical solutions for significantly improving the efficiency of use walking tractors with the single axis.
