    Over the last decades, thanks to the increased pressure to reduce cost and to be more responsive to customer demands as well as improving continuously to the value provided to them, the business has been motivated for managing their operation responsibly in regards to the economical, environmental and social aspects as well. In order to fulfill this mission, encouraged companies and researchers have been finding ways to meet customer demands and sustainable requirements. Lean is one of the systematic approaches to achieving higher value for organizations by eliminating non-value-added activities. Through a case study, the research aims is to present the effectiveness of sustainable improvement on economic, social, and environmental improvement from the perspective of Lean practices. The analysis of the day-to-day Lean practices experience in a case study a good experience for enterprises in desiring applies Lean for sustainable development, can be extremely effective at developing management techniques to achieving sustainable improvement.

    Improving the concept of supply chain management and consideration of the environmental aspects and impacts on it, is the basis for the development of enterprises operating in the textile industry. It should be emphasised that the issue of sustainable supply chain management, due to its inherent complexity, requires continuous analysis of the situation of internal and external decision-making and is burdened with greater or lesser risk concerning the choice of strategy and resource allocation. Therefore supply chain management should be supported by a variety of instruments to streamline organisational structures and processes. These activities should be planned in detail and adapted to the specific nature of the industry. With this in mind, the aim of this article is to develop guidelines for the concept of sustainable supply chain management in the textile industry.
    Doskonalenie koncepcji zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw i uwzględnianie w zarządzaniu nim aspektów środowiskowych jest podstawą rozwoju przedsiębiorstw działających w przemyśle włókienniczym. Podkreślenia wymaga fakt, że problematyka zrównoważonego zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw ze względu na swą złożoność wymaga ciągłej analizy funkcjonowania wewnętrznych i zewnętrznych procesów oraz podejmowania decyzji obarczonych mniejszym lub większym ryzkiem odnośnie wyboru strategii zarządzania i alokacji zasobów. Dlatego zarządzanie łańcuchem dostaw powinno być wspierane przez szereg instrumentów usprawniających główne procesy w nim zachodzące. Ponadto musi być szczegółowo zaplanowane i powinno być dostosowane do specyfiki branży. Mając to na względzie, celem artykułu było opracowanie wytycznych ułatwiających wdrożenie koncepcji zrównoważonego zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw w przemyśle włókienniczym.

    This paper addresses the importance of the development of maritime safety culture, in terms of sustainable shipping through continuous improvement of the safety management system (SMS) that enables a shipping company’s personnel to effectively implement the company’s safety and environmental policy. The main aim of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (International Safety Management Code – ISM Code), which was adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and became mandatory, by virtue of its entry into force on the 1st of July 1998, in SOLAS Chapter IX on the Management for Safe Operation of Ships, is to provide an international standard for the safe management and operation of ships as well as pollution prevention. Thus, compliance with the ISM Code and its effective enforcement is necessary to ensure adequate standards of safety and pollution prevention. The purpose of this paper is to show that the internationally unified legal measures that have been developed under the IMO in the ISM Code are an instrumental consequence of maritime safety values, and allow them to be achieved in practice. The result of this research is the justification of the thesis concerning the need to create a safety culture as a condition for sustainable shipping, including the safe operation of ships in the environment.

    Opis:
    The article is a voice in the discussion centered around education through rock music. The publication aims to familiarize the reader with a specific educational proposition, showing that rock music conceals educational potential, and not just consumer involvement – on commercial terms (as some would like), and involving the reader in the discussion on the way of being educated. The text is also an invitation to interpret their own the paper of students of the Academy of Jan Dlugosz in Czestochowa, where they externalized the educational meaning of rock expression. In my opinion, the presented way of being an education not only allows young people to be included in self-development, but also allows teachers to experience this unusual journey with them, a journey inspired by self-reflection, self-discovery, movement towards “being more”, “Sustainable development”.
    Artykuł jest głosem w dyskusji skoncentrowanej wokół edukowania przez rockowe ekspresje. Publikacja ma na celu zapoznanie Czytelnika z określoną propozycją edukacyjną, pokazanie, że muzyka rockowa kryje w sobie edukacyjny potencjał, a nie tylko angażuje konsumpcyjnie – na komercyjnych zasadach (jak chcą niektórzy), oraz włączenie Czytelnika w dyskusję nad zaprezentowanym sposobem bycia edukacji. Tekst jest również zaproszeniem do interpretacji własnej przedstawionych w artykule prac studentów Akademii im. Jana Długosza w Częstochowie, w których uzewnętrznili oni edukacyjne sensy rockowych ekspresji. W moim przekonaniu prezentowany sposób bycia edukacji nie tylko pozwala na włączenie młodych ludzi w pedagogiczną autokreację, ale także pozwala nauczycielom na doświadczanie wraz nimi tej niecodziennej wędrówki, wędrówki inspirującej do autorefleksji, odkrywania samego siebie, do ruchu ku „byciu czymś więcej”, „ku zrównoważonemu rozwojowi”. Świadome zgłębianie tej rockowej przestrzeni, poszukiwanie jej edukacyjnych sił, zaangażowana peregrynacja jej zakątków sprawia, że człowiek przestaje być li tylko obserwatorem, a staje się uczestnikiem, „interpretatorem doświadczenia”, interpretatorem tekstów kultury (wydarzeń, zjawisk, wytworów itp.). Odkrywanie owego muzycznego świata w ramach edukacyjnych spotkań ma więc sens. Pozostawione w artykule przestrzenie niedookreślone, kwestie otwarte, niedokończone, czy też nierozstrzygnięte mają zagadywać, zachęcać do zadawania pytań, w szerszym, filozoficznym kontekście.

    The issue of blast-induced ground vibration poses a significant environmental challenge in open-pit mines, necessitating precise prediction and control measures. While artificial intelligence and machine learning models hold promise in addressing this concern, their accuracy remains a notable issue due to constrained input variables, dataset size, and potential environmental impact. To mitigate these challenges, data enrichment emerges as a potential solution to enhance the efficacy of machine learning models, not only in blast-induced ground vibration prediction but also across various domains within the mining industry. This study explores the viability of utilizing machine learning for data enrichment, with the objective of generating an augmented dataset that offers enhanced insights based on existing data points for the prediction of blast-induced ground vibration. Leveraging the support vector machine (SVM), we uncover intrinsic relationships among input variables and subsequently integrate them as supplementary inputs. The enriched dataset is then harnessed to construct multiple machine learning models, including k-nearest neighbors (KNN), classification and regression trees (CART), and random forest (RF), all designed to predict blast-induced ground vibration. Comparative analysis between the enriched models and their original counterparts, established on the initial dataset, provides a foundation for extracting insights into optimizing the performance of machine learning models not only in the context of predicting blast-induced ground vibration but also in addressing broader challenges within the mining industry.

    Zagadnienie zrównoważonego budownictwa, z powodu nieustającego wzrostu cen surowców mineralnych oraz energii, stało się poważnym wyzwaniem naukowym, zajmując coraz więcej miejsca w pracach badawczych jednostek naukowych na całym świecie. Istnieje duża liczba metod określania oddziaływania budynku na środowisko oraz wzajemnego porównywania obiektów budowlanych. W pracy przedstawiono kilka najbardziej znanych metod (programów) oceny oddziaływania budynku na środowisko. Opisano również zbiór norm, które powstały w celu normalizacji metod kompleksowej oceny oddziaływania budynku na środowisko. Porównano dwa najpopularniejsze programy: British Establishment Environmental Assessments Method (BREEAM) i Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). W artykule zaprezentowany został model oceny środowiskowej budynków, który został opracowany w Laboratorium Geoenergetyki Wydziału Wiertnictwa Nafty i Gazu AGH, na podstawie aktualnie istniejących metodyk, przede wszystkim programów E-Audyt i BREEAM. Model ten poszerzono o zagadnienia, które nie występowały w aktualnie stosowanych programach, a które dotyczą propozycji wynikających ze specyfiki pracy podziemnych magazynów ciepła. Podsumowano również realizację projektu badawczego, który miał za zadanie określić efektywność magazynowania ciepła w górotworze z zastosowaniem otworowych wymienników ciepła różnej konstrukcji. Zaproponowano nowe rozwiązania z branży geologiczno-energetycznej, które zdaniem autorów, powinny zostać ujęte w metodach kompleksowej oceny budynku, szczególnie w polskich warunkach klimatycznych.
    Due to rising prices of mineral resources and energy, sustainable development in construction industry became an important scientific problem. Recently, sustainable building engineering problem is the base of research for many scientific and development centers. There is a lot of methods of labeling buildings’ influence on the environment and comparing building objects. Several of them were presented in this article and the best-known Building Establishment Environmental Assessments Method (BREEAM) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) were compared. The set of standards that were elaborate in order to standardize the methods of a comprehensive assessment of the environmental impact of the building were also submitted. In addition, the article presented model of environmental assessment of building, that was developed in Laboratory of Geoenergetics at Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas AGH-UST, based on currently existing systems, in particular E-audit and BREEAMprograms. This model was expanded to cover issues that are not used in currently applied programs, and which concern the proposals arising from the operation of underground heat storages. The research project, that was designed to determine the advisability of heat storage in the ground was summarize. New solutions connected with geological and energetic fields of science were proposed. According to the authors, these ideas should be applied for complex evaluation of the building, especially in polish climate conditions.

    The presented Sucha Beskidzka district situated in the małopolskie voivodeship (province) is an example of many different projects implemented for the benefit of inhabitants: installation of solar collectors, thermal modernization of public facilities, construction of modern waste screening plant as well as initiatives for natural values protection and promoting “small homeland”. The aim of this paper is to present how the sustainable development goals can be achieved at local level bringing ecological, economic and social effects. A financial and economic analysis and environmental effects of completed projects lead to conclusions the activities implemented by the district undoubtedly improved the quality of life in the local community. Reducing emissions of harmful substances into the air fosters both population health and preservation of valuable natural areas in the district such as the Natura 2000 area covering the Babia Góra National Park. The use of renewable energy sources brings not only reduced heating costs but also lowered energy consumption. These activities had also a social dimension. The implementation of the programs undoubtedly increased ecological awareness among local community – the need to take care of the nearesr environment and the sense of regional identity among citizens.
    Przedstawiony powiat suski położony w województwie małopolskim jest przykładem realizacji różnorodnych projektów służących mieszkańcom: montaż kolektorów słonecznych, termomodernizacja budynków użyteczności publicznej oraz budowa nowoczesnej sortowni śmieci, a także inicjatyw na rzecz ochrony walorów przyrodniczych regionu i promowania „małej ojczyzny”. Celem artykułu było zaprezentowanie w jaki sposób na szczeblach lokalnych można realizować cele zrównoważonego rozwoju osiągając efekty ekologiczne, ekonomiczne i społeczne. Analiza finansowo-ekonomiczna i efektów ekologicznych zrealizowanych projektów pozwala na stwierdzenie, że podejmowane przez powiat działania niewątpliwie wpłynęły na poprawę jakości życia ludności zamieszkującej powiat. Ograniczenie emisji szkodliwych substancji do powietrza atmosferycznego sprzyja zarówno zdrowiu mieszkańców jak i ochronie obszarów cennych przyrodniczo występujących na terenie powiatu: m. in. obszar Natura 2000 obejmujący Babiogórski Park Narodowy. Wykorzystanie odnawialnych źródeł energii to oszczędność kosztów ogrzewania oraz zmniejszenie zużycia energii. Działania te miały również wymiar społeczny. Po wprowadzeniu programów niewątpliwie zwiększyła się również świadomość ekologiczna miejscowej ludności - potrzeba dbałości o najbliższe środowisko naturalne oraz poczucie tożsamości regionalnej mieszkańców powiatu.

    Background: The aim of this paper is to determine the importance of the quality management and environmental management systems as well as operational improvement tools (such as TPS, Six Sigma, and Lean Management) in building partnerships in supply chain. Methods: This paper contains the results of survey in companies operating in Poland and an analysis of the requirements for suppliers in the implementation of the quality and environmental management systems elements as well as recommendation for them to implement process improvement tools (such as elements of the TPS, the concept of Lean Management and Six Sigma methodologies). Results: The results of the survey and the analysis of the examples show that companies that are buyers in the B2B market often define the very individualized to suppliers needs through detailed specifications defining the requirements for quality assurance, performance increases, (for example, shortening implementation cycles), efficiency (cost reduction), safety, reducing the negative impact on the environment. Conclusions: The effectiveness of the action on improving the quality of processes and products by building relationships with suppliers depends largely on the support provided to them. To achieve these objectives many companies introduce special development programs for suppliers.
    Wstęp: Celem artykułu jest określenie znaczenia systemowego zarządzania jakością oraz środowiskiem, a także narzędzi doskonalenia operacyjnego (takich jak TPS, Six Sigma, czy Lean Management) w budowaniu partnerskich relacji w łańcuchu dostaw. Metody: W artykule przeanalizowano wyniki badań ankietowych oraz wymagania stawiane dostawcom w zakresie wdrażania elementów systemowego zarządzania jakością oraz środowiskiem, a także zalecenia stawiane im w zakresie wdrażania narzędzi doskonalenia procesów (takich jak elementy TPS, koncepcja Lean Management, czy metodyki Six Sigma).
