Opis:: Artykuł jest wynikiem badania wykonanego na próbie 400 polskich przedsiębiorstw zajmujących się produkcją towarów i usług. Celem badania była analiza potencjału, jaki modele biznesowe obiegu zamkniętego tworzą dla rozwoju przedsiębiorstw, zwłaszcza w kontekście wyzwań rozwoju zrównoważonego. W artykule dokonano oceny praktyk gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego wśród polskich przedsiębiorstw, wskazując na różnice w opiniach na temat ich wpływu na działalność gospodarczą. Dostrzegając korzyści, takie jak redukcja kosztów i zwiększona konkurencyjność, dwie trzecie zbadanych firm nie inwestuje w rozwiązania cyrkularne, głównie ze względu na postrzegane przeszkody inwestycyjne. Ponadto prawie połowa z nich nie posiada celów strategicznych w zakresie gospodarki odpadami, co wskazuje na potrzebę większej świadomości i strategicznej integracji zasad obiegu zamkniętego. W badaniu zauważono również ogólny brak uznania modeli gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego jako przewagi konkurencyjnej, a dodatkowo niewiele przedsiębiorstw wskazano jako wzorce do naśladowania. Sugeruje to rozbieżność między uznaniem korzyści wynikających z gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego a faktycznym wdrożeniem, co podkreśla potencjał zachęt finansowych sprzyjających przyjęciu tej gospodarki.
The article is the result of the research conducted on a sample of 400 Polish enterprises offering products and services. The aim of the research was to assess the potential of circular economy business models for the development of enterprises, in particular, in the context of sustainable development challenges. In the article the assessment was made of circular economy practices among the selected Polish enterprises, pointing out the differences in perceiving their impact on business operations. Acknowledging the benefits such as lower costs and higher competitiveness, two thirds of the enterprises under study do not invest in circular economy solutions, mainly due to perceived investment obstacles. Moreover, almost half of them do not have strategic goals regarding waste management, indicating the need for greater awareness and strategic integration of circular economy principles. The study also noted a general lack of recognition of circular economy models as a competitive advantage, and few enterprises were identified as role models. This suggests a discrepancy between recognizing the benefits of the circular economy and its actual implementation. What underlines the potential of financial incentives for adopting this kind of economy.

Opis:: The article examines corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a new paradigm of sustainable enterprise development and the principal tool for its implementation. The aim of the article is to enhance the understanding of the significance of CSR as a tool for sustainable business development and to establish directions for its implementation. The study introduces a spherical model of sustainable enterprise development, comprising three spheres representing the enterprise’s interaction with the external environment. These spheres are managed through CSR principles. The model aims to achieve long-term equilibrium across key domains of sustainable development: economic, social, and ecological. It envisions the incorporation of CSR tools. This research proposes a modification of the Corporate Social Responsibility Pyramid. The model encompasses diverse responsibility types, including organizational-economic, technical-technological and digital, ecological, legal, socio-cultural, ethical, innovative, and philanthropic. A hierarchical analysis of CSR and Maslow’s hierarchy identifies responsibility hierarchy levels within the enterprise. The characterization of enterprise CSR types is provided. The article develops a CSR pyramid model as a central instrument for attaining sustainable development and justifies responsibility types for integrating CSR within the enterprise, catering to internal and external stakeholder needs. The research emphasizes the development of tools to facilitate CSR integration and achieve sustainable development. The derived conclusions and the characterization of CSR types will enable enterprises to allocate efforts and resources more comprehensively for achieving sustainable development, considering the specific nature of their operations and stakeholder needs. The research aids enterprises in better comprehending the essential aspects of CSR that correspond to their particular circumstances.
Artykuł analizuje społeczną odpowiedzialność biznesu (CSR) jako nowy paradygmat zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstw oraz główne narzędzie do jej wdrażania. Celem artykułu jest zwiększenie zrozumienia znaczenia CSR jako narzędzia do zrównoważonego rozwoju biznesu i określenie kierunków jego wdrożenia. Badanie przedstawia sferowy model zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstw, obejmujący trzy sfery reprezentujące interakcję przedsiębiorstwa z otoczeniem zewnętrznym. Te sfery są zarządzane przez zasady CSR. Model ma na celu osiągnięcie długoterminowej równowagi między kluczowymi obszarami zrównoważonego rozwoju: ekonomicznym, społecznym i ekologicznym. Przewiduje on włączenie narzędzi CSR. Badanie proponuje modyfikację Piramidy Społecznej Odpowiedzialności Biznesu. Model obejmuje różne rodzaje odpowiedzialności, w tym organizacyjno-ekonomiczną, techniczno-technologiczną i cyfrową, ekologiczną, prawną, społeczno-kulturową, etyczną, innowacyjną i filantropijną. Hierarchiczna analiza CSR i hierarchia potrzeb Maslowa identyfikuje poziomy hierarchii odpowiedzialności w przedsiębiorstwie. Przedstawiono charakterystykę rodzajów CSR przedsiębiorstwa. Artykuł opracowuje model piramidy CSR jako centralne narzędzie osiągania zrównoważonego rozwoju i uzasadnia rodzaje odpowiedzialności do włączenia CSR w przedsiębiorstwo, uwzględniając potrzeby interesariuszy wewnętrznych i zewnętrznych. Badanie podkreśla rozwój narzędzi ułatwiających integrację CSR i osiągnięcie zrównoważonego rozwoju. Wnioski wyprowadzone z badań oraz charakterystyka rodzajów CSR pozwolą przedsiębiorstwom bardziej kompleksowo alokować wysiłki i zasoby w celu osiągnięcia zrównoważonego Zeszyty Naukowe nr 19 85 rozwoju, z uwzględnieniem specyfiki ich działalności i potrzeb interesariuszy. Badanie pomaga przedsiębiorstwom lepiej zrozumieć istotne aspekty CSR, które odpowiadają ich konkretnym okolicznościom.

Opis:: Implementacja idei zrównoważonego rozwoju staje się dla współczesnych przedsiębiorstw jednym z kluczowych wyzwań. Odpowiedzią na to wyzwanie jest rozwój koncepcji zrównoważonego przywództwa. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czym jest zrównoważone przywództwo oraz na jakich poziomach może być badane. Na potrzeby realizacji przyjętego celu dokonano analizy literatury przedmiotu przy zastosowaniu metody narracyjnego przeglądu literatury. Badania literaturowe doprowadziły do wniosku, że zrównoważone przywództwo jest odpowiedzią na potrzebę wdrażania idei zrównoważonego rozwoju i stanowi system, którego poszczególne elementy dążą do realizacji wspólnego celu, jakim jest zrównoważony rozwój. Koncepcję zrównoważonego przywództwa można analizować na trzech poziomach: jednostki, organizacji oraz otoczenia.
Implementation of the concept of sustainability is becoming one of the key challenges for modern companies. The answer to this challenge is the development of the concept of sustainable leadership. The purpose of this study is to answer the question of what sustainable leadership is and at what levels it can be studied. For the purpose of the adopted goal, an analysis of the literature on the subject was carried out using the method of narrative literature review. The literature research led to the conclusion that sustainable leadership is a response to the need to implement the idea of sustainable development, and is a system whose individual elements strive to achieve the common goal of sustainable development. The concept of sustainable leadership can be analyzed at three levels: the level of the individual, the organization, and the environment.

Opis:: The aim of the paper is to present the essence of customs handling in the context of sustainable development of enterprises and to discuss its selected instruments of a pro-ecological nature, i.e., e-customs services. Thus, with a view to achieving this objective, the research hypothesis has been formulated as follows: the so-called pro-ecological solutions for handling customs administrative procedures, being familiar with them and their practical application, not only influence the facilitation of export and import transactions, but can also stimulate sustainable development management of enterprises. The article includes a theoretical part, as well as a practical one, in which examples of e-customs services offered in customs handling and benefits resulting from their use are indicated. The findings of the considerations of the paper are presented in the conclusion. The research was based on descriptive and comparative analysis, preceded by a review of sources from the subject literature. In the author’s opinion, transferring selected elements of customs handling from traditional processing to the model which takes advantage of modern information and communication technologies (ICT) helps companies to implement the idea of sustainable development. Information technologies play a key role in reducing the negative impact on the environment, and their development has created numerous new opportunities for customs handling, which are used by customs authorities with increasing success. It is important that over the coming years, the development of e-services for customs handling is continued, thus not only contributing to an improvement of the quality of business services but also the implementation of other aspects that are also crucial from the point of view of sustainable development of enterprises.
Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka istoty obsługi celnej w kontekście zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstw, a także omówienie jej wybranych instrumentów mających charakter proekologicznych rozwiązań, tj. e-usług celnych. Weryfikacji poddano hipotezę badawczą zakładającą, że tzw. proekologiczne rozwiązania w zakresie administracyjnej obsługi celnej, ich znajomość i praktyczne zastosowanie mają nie tylko wpływ na ułatwianie działalności w zakresie prowadzenia transakcji eksportowych i importowych, ale mogą także stymulować zarządzanie zrównoważonym rozwojem przedsiębiorstw. Artykuł obejmuje część teoretyczno-definicyjną, jak również praktyczną, w której wskazano przykłady e-usług celnych oferowanych w ramach obsługi celnej oraz korzyści płynące z ich stosowania. W podsumowaniu przedstawiono wnioski płynące z podjętych rozważań. W badaniach wykorzystano analizę opisowo-porównawczą, poprzedzoną przeglądem źródeł literaturowych. Zdaniem Autora, przeniesienie wybranych procesów obsługi celnej z tradycyjnej płaszczyzny na płaszczyznę wykorzystującą technologię ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) powoduje poprawę jej efektywności, pomagając przedsiębiorstwom realizować cele zrównoważonego rozwoju. Technologie informatyczne odgrywają kluczową rolę w zmniejszaniu negatywnego wpływu na środowisko naturalne, a ich rozwój stworzył wiele nowych możliwości dla obsługi celnej, co jest z coraz większym powodzeniem wykorzystywane przez organy celne. Ważne jest, aby w najbliższych latach rozwój e-usług w ramach obsługi celnej był nadal kontynuowany, wpływając tym samym pozytywnie nie tylko na podniesienie jakości usług biznesowych, ale także na realizacje innych aspektów, w tym także tych istotnych z punktu widzenia zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstw.

Opis:: The main purpose of the article analyses the stability of sustainable development of the enterprise and determines the approaches to the interpretation of this concept. Opis:: The interest in the concept of sustainable development is a form of a scientific response to the challenges of transforming economies, growing expectations of local communities and societies and environmental degradation. Despite numerous definitions of sustainable development, the literature lacks a widely recognised definition of an entity that operates in a sustainable way – a sustainable enterprise. The literature review identified two definition gaps: 1) the lack of defined boundaries within which a company must operate in order to be called sustainable, and 2) the lack of a definition of the relationship between the areas in which sustainability is assessed. The authors of the article propose a new definition of a sustainable enterprise. Moreover, they give examples of organisations that, although in a selected area they carry out sustainable activities, they cannot be called sustainable.

Opis:: The main purpose of this paper is to show a statistical evaluation of the sustainable development issues at the transport enterprises level. Initial considerations are devoted to the discussion of theoretical issues related to sustainable development businesses. The main part of the article is devoted to the statistical analysis of the sustainable development of Polish transport companies. The results of the study made it possible to assess that the sustainable development of transport companies in 2009-2015 takes place. This development is more rapid compared to the average development of the entire enterprise sector. The average level of the indicator of sustainable development of transport enterprises in the whole analysed period it amounted to 0.89. At the same time, it should be noted that economic development is accompanied by improvement of conditions and quality of work and reduction of negative impact on natural resources.

Opis:: The notion of sustainable development becomes an increasingly important element in economic and social development planning. Therefore, in this context, such notions have appeared as: sustainable consumption, sustainable product or sustainable enterprise. The first part of the article contains identification of the notion of a sustainable enterprise and the determinants characterizing such an entity. In the second part an attempt has been made to assess whether the product in the form of an electric energy consumption management system can be considered a sustainable product. Opis:: Environmental safety management contributes to sustainable development. Sustainable development is a consequence of global ecological and social threats. The natural potential of the Earth is running out, which is confirmed by worsening indicators of Living Planet Index and Ecological Footprint. Acceleration of sustainable development is particularly important to production enterprises. Production enterprises use the majority of the world’s non-renewable resources and they are largely responsible for environmental pollution. The negative influence of the enterprises on the environment can be stopped by transforming them into sustainable enterprises. Sustainable top managers should play a key role in this process. Sustainable top managers constitute a new currently emerging category of leaders. They possess knowledge and experience in both management as well as sustainability. Their features include social and ecological sensitivity, innovation and the ability to convince and motivate employees within the scope of sustainable development as well. Their objective is to create an organization whose mission, strategy and operational action programmes include ecological and social initiatives. Due to this, sustainable development is becoming an important and permanent element of enterprise functioning. Sustainable leadership constitutes a key challenge for top managers which they should accept for the benefit of future generations. The support of environmental safety management by sustainable top managers promotes its implementation in enterprises thanks to their knowledge and ecological sensitivity as well as engaging in sustainable development.

Początkowe rozważania poświęcono krótkiemu omówieniu podstawowych zagadnień związanych ze zrównoważonym rozwojem przedsiębiorstwa, następnie przedstawiono rolę rozwiązań informatycznych jako elementu jego wsparcia. Końcowe rozważania zawierają próbę wkomponowania IT w strategię zrównoważonego rozwoju organizacji
Sustainable enterprise development defines quantitative and qualitative changes aimed at coincidence implementation of economic, social and environmental goals. It requires a long-term approach to managing the organization and the use of appropriate tools, technologies and equipment. An important element of the sustainable development at enterprise level are modern information technologies that affect the efficiency of enterprises and enable the implementation of pro-ecological innovations. Initial considerations are devoted to a brief discussion of the basic issues related to sustainable development at enterprise level, then the role of IT solutions for enterprise development. The final considerations include an attempt to integrate IT into the organization's sustainable development strategy.

Opis:: To be successful strategic thinking from SMEs is required, they have to give appropriate answers to the changes that fit and serve the sustainable economy. It is characteristic that SMEs concentrate mainly on surviving and on daily stability, yet – despite of the frequently mentioned idea – they realize the necessity of renewal, and they are fond of innovation. The question arose: what kind of business model do we need. Future means that the reappraisal of the values based on trust, reallocation of resources, social relationships, restructuring factors of production, localization, reuse and recycling must be implemented in business strategies, showing the direction of innovation. It is important to define the role and place of the SMEs in innovation process in the context of de-growth, like innovation – imitation. Synthesis – open innovation, observation and adaptation of best practices, cooperation based on trust, participation in strategic partnerships. In the study messages of sustainable economy and ‘degrowth’ is summarized. Answers are being looked for the question: what kind of behavior and strategies are appropriate for the SMEs for successful renewal.
W artykule podjęto próbę określenia roli i znaczenia teorii postwzrostu w procesach zrównoważonego rozwoju. Poszukuje się odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakie zachowania i strategie są odpowiednie dla MŚ P w celu skutecznego rozwoju. Firmy z sektora MŚ P muszą tak jak wszystkie podmioty gospodarcze, adoptować się do zmieniających się warunków otoczenia nie tylko by przetrwać, ale także, aby rozwijać się. Jednak z jedną z charakterystycznych cech przedsiębiorstw tego sektora jest nastawienie się na przetrwanie i względna stabilność funkcjonowania. Mają one także świadomość potrzeby rozwoju i wdrażania innowacji, lecz w zdecydowanie mniejszej skali. Pojawia się pytanie: jaki model biznesu jest obecnie potrzebny. Przyszłość oznacza ponowne oszacowanie wartości opartych na zaufaniu, realokacji zasobów, relacjach społecznych, restrukturyzacji czynników produkcji, lokalizacji, ponownego wykorzystania w strategiach biznesowych, wskazując kierunek innowacji. Ważne jest określenie roli i miejsca firm z sektora MŚ P w procesie innowacji w kontekście postwzrostu (degrowth), podobnie jak wskazanie kierunków wdrażania innowacji. Ważne jest określenie roli firm MŚ P w implementacji innowacji. Istotne jest także zwrócenie uwagi na otwarte innowacje, obserwacja i adaptacja najlepszych praktyk, współpraca oparta na zaufaniu, udział w strategicznych partnerstwach.

Opis:: Zrównoważony rozwój jest koncepcją wypracowaną w drodze wieloletnich negocjacji i prac na arenie międzynarodowej, której głównym celem jest poprawa jakości życia społeczeństw w czystym środowisku naturalnym. Skupia ona w sobie trzy aspekty, tj.: ekologiczny, społeczny i ekonomiczny, a realizowanie działań w wymienionych trzech obszarach zmierza do osiągnięcia efektywnego rozwoju. W artykule zaprezentowano teoretyczne podstawy koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju i branży spożywczej w odniesieniu do polskiej gospodarki oraz działania, jakie powinny podejmować wszystkie przedsiębiorstwa spożywcze, aby przedstawiana koncepcja była skuteczna. Celem pracy jest wskazanie, iż w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłu spożywczego korzystne jest realizowanie działań wspierających zrównoważony rozwój, a także jak te działania wyglądają. Wykorzystane w artykule metody badań polegają na analizie danych zastanych. Analizie zostały poddane istniejące już dane wtórne, wcześniej zgromadzone i przetworzone przez instytucje publiczne, co jest metodą deskresearch. Ponadto, zastosowano jednocześnie analizę treści i pisemnych komunikatów tekstowych. Część artykułu, na którą składa się przegląd działań, jakie powinno się realizować w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłu spożywczego, powstała w wyniku gruntownej analizy literatury dotyczącej: zrównoważonego wznoszenia budynków, zrównoważonego personelu, zrównoważonego zarządzania, ekologicznych innowacji produktowych, opakowaniowych i technologicznych, zrównoważonej produkcji i utylizacji odpadów opakowaniowych. W części badawczej artykułu wyjaśniono, w jaki sposób przedsiębiorstwa przemysłu spożywczego powinny realizować swoją działalność, by była ona zgodna z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju. Dzięki temu możliwe jest poznanie odpowiedzi na podane pytania badawcze. Czy przemysł spożywczy ma duży wpływ na powstawanie produktów opakowaniowych? Jaki powinien być zrównoważony produkt, co go cechuje i jak go projektować? Jacy powinni być pracownicy zatrudnieni w przedsiębiorstwach charakteryzujących się cechami zrównoważenia, jak również czym wyróżniają się współpracownicy i dostawcy. W jaki sposób powinna być realizowana produkcja, aby w jak najmniejszym stopniu negatywnie oddziaływać na człowieka i przyrodę? Które surowce i w jaki sposób oszczędzać, żeby nie doprowadzić do ich całkowitego zużycia?
Sustainable development is a concept developed after years of negotiations and disputes on the international stage. Its main goal is to improve the quality of life of societies in a clean environment. It focuses on three aspects: ecological, social, and economic. It is imperative to carry out the activities in these three areas so that all the problems important for building a long-term business strategy are addressed. This will make it possible to achieve effective development. In this paper, the author presents the theoretical foundations of the concept of sustainable development in the food industry in relation to the Polish economy and the actions that all food businesses should take in order for the presented concept to be effective. The purpose of the work is to show why businesses in the food industry are benefiting from actions that promote sustainable development and how they behave. The research methods used involve analysis of available data. The existing secondary data previously collected and processed by public institutions are analyzed (a desk research method). In addition, content analysis is conducted, where written messages are examined. The paper, which includes an overview of activities recommended for food industry companies, was developed through a thorough literary analysis of sustainable building, sustainable staffing, sustainable management, innovations regarding ecological products, packaging and technologies, sustainable production and disposal of packaging waste. The research section explains how food business operators should implement their activities to ensure that they are sustainable. Thanks to this, it is possible to find the answers to the following research questions: Does the food industry have a major impact on the formation of packaging products? What should the sustainable product be, what characterizes it and how to design it? What should employees working for sustainable companies be like? What should be the characteristics of the collaborators and suppliers of a sustainable company? How should production be implemented so as to have a minimal negative impact on people and the natural environment? Which raw materials to save, and how to do it so as not to exhaust them completely?

Opis:: The aim of the paper is to present the philosophy of Lean Management as an instrument of improving sustainable management of enterprises. The article presents the origins, characteristics of the broadly understood concept of Lean Management and describes the idea of Sustainable Development (SD). At the same time implications for the application and development of the instruments which operationalize the assumptions of SD at the level of enterprises are discussed. The paper specifies those areas of functioning of contemporary companies in which Lean Management can be implemented and compares them with the features of traditional management in particular subjects.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie filozofii Lean Management jako instrumentu zrównoważonego zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem. Artykuł podejmując szeroko rozumianą tematykę Lean Management, przedstawia jej genezę, charakterystykę oraz opisuje ogólne założenia koncepcji Zrównoważonego Rozwoju (ZR). Jednocześnie wskazuje implikacje dla stosowania i poszukiwania instrumentów operacjonalizacji założeń ZR na poziomie przedsiębiorstwa. Określa także w jakich obszarach funkcjonowania współczesnej firmy metoda Lean znajduje swe zastosowanie oraz zestawia jej cechy z tradycyjnym sposobem zarządzania podmiotem gospodarczym.

Opis:: The article deals with the concept of sustainable development (SD) management and conditions to achieve SD of an industrial enterprise. The structure of sustainability management is presented. It is proved that organizational structure of management is the basis for assessing the effectiveness of the SD of an enterprise. It is shown that to assess the effectiveness of the management of SD of the enterprise, there should be indicators used characterizing the level of manageability and the growth level of the organizational management structure. It is shown that with the help of an indicator like the manageability level, it is possible to determine the stability boundaries of an enterprise.
