The article is the voice of a parent on the issue of upbringing and supporting a child with autism. The author presents the moment of the birth of his daughter, Salome. Then he describes his becoming accustomed to autism and learning to live in the new conditions. The text looks at both hardships and successes experienced by Salome and her family, and it draws attention to the most important issues in working with an autistic child – acceptance, under-standing, individualization and willingness to cooperate and to provide help to a child with autism.
Artykuł jest głosem rodzica na temat wychowania i wspierania dziecka z autyzmem. Autor opisuje moment pojawienia się na świecie córki Sa-lome, po czym nawiązuje do „oswajania autyzmu” i uczenia się życia w nowych warunkach. W tekście przedstawiono trudności oraz sukcesy doświadczane przez Salome oraz jej rodzinę. Artykuł zwraca również uwagę na najważniejsze kwestie dotyczące pracy z dzieckiem z autyzmem – akceptację, zrozumienie, indywidu-alizację, chęć współpracy oraz niesienia pomocy dziecku i jego rodzinie.

The article discusses the importance of effective communication and informational support for parents of children with hearing impairment who are in difficult situations. I present three cases: a young parent of a child with hearing impairment; parents and children with genetic deafness (the “Deaf” family); and a child with multiple disabilities, including hearing impairment. Based on these cases, I discuss general guidelines of how to give effective help to patients in difficult situations, which can occur in the practice of physicians and speech therapists. In the last part of the article, I show a roadmap for effective communication between healthcare professionals and patients with hearing impairment. The roadmap was developed based on the classic Jacob’s theory of speech acts.

Background: The purpose of this research is to examine a path model and the mediating effect of perceived communication convenience towards explaining industrial purchasing personnel’s Internet adoption for business purchasing related activities. It involves sequencing paths examining the predictive effect of perceived Internet skills and supplier support on perceived communication convenience. Consequently, perceived communication convenience would influence Internet adoption as communication tools in a business-to-business context. It also examines the indirect effects of perceived Internet skills and supplier support on Internet adoption mediated by perceived communication convenience. Method: A structured questionnaire was developed to carry out a cross-sectional survey. A business-to-business company’s database consists of its current and potential customers was selected as the sampling frame. A total of 139 responses was collected and Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM 3.0) was utilized in data processing and hypotheses testing. Results: The findings of the study indicate that perceived Internet skills and supplier support have a significant effect on perceived communication convenience. Subsequently, perceived communication convenience have a direct impact on industrial purchasing personnel’s adoption of the Internet for business purchasing related activities. Perceived communication convenience significantly mediates the effect of perceived Internet skills and supplier support on business Internet adoption. Conclusion: This study contributes towards identifying significant predictors and mediator of adopting Internet for business purchasing related activities among purchasing personnel. Practitioners need to emphasize on Internet skills and support in order to enhance communication convenience, thus encourages industrial buyers to adopt the Internet in purchasing activities.
Wstęp: Celem pracy jest zbadanie modelu ścieżki oraz efektu mediacyjnego postrzeganej wygody w komunikacji dla przybliżenia pracownikom działu zakupu użytkowania Internetu dla biznesowych aktywności zakupowych. Obejmuje analizę sekwencyjnych ścieżek przewidywanego efektu postrzeganych umiejętności użytkowania Internetu oraz wsparcia dostawcy w postrzeganej wygodzie w komunikacji. W konsekwencji, postrzegana wygoda w komunikacji wpływa na zaakceptowanie Internetu, jako narzędzia komunikacji w kontekście biznes-biznes. Obejmuje również niebezpośrednie efekty postrzeganych umiejętności używania Internetu oraz wsparcia dostawcy na akceptację Internetu poprzez postrzeganą wygodę komunikacji. Metody: Została przygotowania ustrukturyzowana ankieta w celu przeprowadzenia badania. Baza danych firmy o strukturze biznes-biznes, składająca się z obecnych i potencjalnych klientów została wybrana, jako przykładowa baza dla przeprowadzenia badania. Zebrano 139 wypełnionych ankiet, z których dane poddano analizie statystycznej przy zastosowaniu modelu PLS-SEM 3.0 (Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling). Wyniki: Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że postrzegane umiejętności użytkowania Internetu I wsparcia dla dostawcy mają istotny wpływ na postrzeganą wygodę komunikacji. Z kolei postrzegana wygoda komunikacji ma bezpośredni wpływ na użytkowanie Internetu przez pracowników działu zakupu dla celów biznesowych zakupów. Postrzegana wygoda komunikacji istotnie określa efekt postrzeganych umiejętności użytkowania komputera oraz wsparcia dostawcy na biznesowe użytkowanie Internetu. Wnioski: Praca przyczynia się do zidentyfikowania istotnych predykatorów oraz mediatorów dla użytkowani Internetu dla celów biznesowych związanych z aktywnością zakupową wśród pracowników działu zakupu. Należy położyć większy nacisk na umiejętności użytkowania Internetu w celu zwiększenia wygody komunikacji, aby zachęcić biznesowych kupców do stosowania Internetu w ich codziennej pracy.

The scale of foreign migration to Poland is continually growing. An increasing number of immigrants from Asia can be seen, although arrivals from the region of Sub- -Saharan Africa still constitute only a small percentage of the immigration flow. In order to research the causes of this disproportion, the authors have analysed the importance of push and pull factors using the example of Nigeria. Afterwards, in connection with such questions as relations with the receiving country, communication, climate, and migrant support systems, they evaluate the obstacles that could discourage the inhabitants of Sub-Saharan Africa from choosing Poland as their preferred country of immigration.

The aim of the article is to discuss the problems of communication with people with intellectual disabilities. In particular, the functioning of disabled persons in the area of communication was analyzed. The basic question that is guided by the considerations discussed here refers to the possibility and choice of the appropriate form of alternative and support communication. All the considerations were embedded in the theoretical framework.

The objective of this study was to investigate the ways in which participation in physical activity is prevented or facilitated among older adults who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH). Interviews were conducted with 8 individuals who are D/HH aged 50+ years (4 females and 4 males). The sample was created by asking key people in local organisations who they would recommend. Participants were recruited in an effort to have a cross-section of different hearing loss view-related experiences. Data was analysed using a thematic analysis. The analysis revealed four themes that helped to explain why physical activity was perceived as being either prevented or facilitated among older adults who are D/HH: communication strategies; visual and technical support; environment; physical activity participation. Appropriate physical activities can help to reduce personal and family stress and facilitate bringing about new long-term friendships, as well as help the individuals to take their minds off the hectic course of life. Various communication strategies can be used effectively in during leisure time physical activities with people who are D/HH. The main challenge for any specialist in physical activities (educator, coach or physiotherapist) is to pinpoint the most effective method for a particular individual who is D/HH and then become proficient in it. Our study confirmed that participation in physical activities is very important for all older adults who are D/HH in order to build connections with existing mainstream community activities.

Opis:
The phenomenon of providing support is a vital component of social life, assuming numerous and various forms. In the article, the author focuses on characterising the crucial condition of efficient psychological support provided on an individual basis for people facing difficulties surpassing their current adaptation capacities. The basis of efficient support is the creation of the so-called helping relationship that is a taskoriented, contains a specific emotional relation with the client, and facilitates support provision and acceptance. According to the author, the “I’m OK, you’re OK” attitude of the helper is an essential condition for the achievement of an effective helping relationship. The author advocated the Nonviolent Communication Model by Rosenberg as a specific tool not only for developing such social skills as empathy and assertiveness, but also as a tool for helping to develop the “I’m OK, you’re OK” approaches. Although the presentation concerns individual support, it can be supposed that this approach can be referred, at least partially, to other forms of support found in social and economic life.

The article presents a portion of therapeutic work with difficult be-haviors in students with autism spectrum disorders. The author’s work in this area was inspired by several publications by authors dealing with the subject of autism, such as G. LaVigna and his Positive Behaviour Support model for chil-dren with developmental disorders, including children with autism; Z. Grun-towski and his six-step problem-solving process for dealing with difficult be-haviors; H. Olechnowicz and her reflective approach to therapeutic work with individuals with autism. An important feature of this paper is that it highlights the importance of under-standing the contexts in which autistic persons exhibit difficult behaviors and the feasibility of applying a positive support plan based on proactive and reac-tive strategies. The author of the article believes that self-reflection, continuous learning and creating functional solutions are prerequisites for anyone willing to undertake effective therapeutic work with people with autism.
W przedstawionym artykule zaprezentowano fragment pracy tera-peutycznej na temat trudnych zachowań u ucznia z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu. Inspiracją do podjęcia działań w tym zakresie stała się lektura publi-kacji autorów zajmujących się tematyką autyzmu, m.in. Gary’ego De LaVigna, twórcy Pozytywnego Modelu Wsparcia dla dzieci z zaburzeniami w rozwoju, w tym dla dzieci z autyzmem; Zygmunta Gruntowskiego, który zaproponował sześciokrokowy proces rozwiązywania problemów związanych z trudnymi za-chowaniami; Hanny Olechnowicz, twórczyni refleksyjnego podejścia do pracy terapeutycznej z osobami z autyzmem. Ważnym aspektem w prezentowanym artykule jest zwrócenie uwagi na znaczenie i zrozumienie kontekstów pojawiających się trudnych zachowań prezentowanych przez osoby z autyzmem oraz możliwości zastosowania pozytywnego Planu Wspar-cia opartego na strategiach proaktywnych i reaktywnych. Według autora niniejsze-go artykułu niezbędnym krokiem w podjęciu pracy terapeutycznej jest autorefleksja oraz nieustanne uczenie się i tworzenie funkcjonalnych rozwiązań, które pomagają przetrwać i ułatwiają zarówno życie, jak i pracę z osobami z autyzmem.

Afazja jest nabytym zaburzeniem mowy wynikającym z uszkodzenia mózgu. Przejawia się w języku zarówno w jego ekspresji, jak i w odbiorze. Zaburzenia procesu językowego porozumiewania się prowadzą do poważnych zaburzeń w psychospołecznym funkcjonowaniu człowieka. Język jest bowiem najważniejszym narzędziem służącym do nawiązywania werbalnych interakcji i realizowania swoich intencji komunikacyjnych. Afazja w konsekwencji może doprowadzić do izolacji społecznej i utraty ról społecznych. Artykuł podejmuje problematykę funkcjonowania psychospołecznego chorych z afazją. W pierwszej jego części zarysowano zagadnienia związane z afazją. Scharakteryzowano rodzaje afazji, jej objawy i przyczyny. Dalszą część artykułu poświęcono przedstawieniu sytuacji psychospołecznej osób z afazją. Następnie zwrócono uwagę na rolę wsparcia społecznego w lepszym przystosowaniu się chorych do życia w nowej sytuacji społecznej i rodzinnej oraz zamieszczono wskazówki ułatwiające komunikację z osobą z afazją.
Aphasia is an acquired speech disorder resulting from a brain damage. It affects language both in its expression and reception. Disturbances in the language communication process lead to serious disorders in the psychosocial functioning of a person. Language is the most important tool for establishing verbal interactions and attaining your intentions in communication. Consequently, aphasia can lead to social isolation and loss of social roles. The article deals with the problems of psychosocial functioning of patients with aphasia. The first part outlines issues related to aphasia. We define types of aphasia, its symptoms and causes. The rest of the article is devoted to the presentation of psychosocial situation of people with aphasia. Then, attention is paid to the role of social support in better adaptation of patients to life in the new social and family situation, and includes guidelines to facilitate communication with a person suffering from aphasia.

Opis:
Choroba Alzheimera jest najczęstszą postacią otępienia, która występuje u ludzi powyżej 60 roku życia. Dotyczy pacjentów na całym świecie i znacznie częściej chorują na nią kobiety. Podczas sprawowania opieki nad osobami chorymi powstaje wiele problemów, do których zaliczyć należy: podawanie posiłków, utrzymanie higieny osobistej, wypoczynek, pielęgnacja odleżyn, samoopieka, zachowania agresywne pacjenta. Postępujące zaburzenie komunikacji wraz z rozwojem choroby jest przyczyną błędów w długoterminowej opiece pacjentów z otępieniem typu alzheimerowskiego. Niewątpliwie przejawem choroby utrudniającym pielęgnację i usprawnianie pacjentów są stany lękowe. Powyższe zaburzenia, a także znaczne ograniczenie funkcji poznawczych wpływają negatywnie zarówno na pacjenta, jak i na jego opiekunów. Przeciwdziałanie im ma na celu poprawę jakości życia pacjentów, opiekunów oraz usprawnienie rehabilitacji stosowanej na poszczególnych etapach otępienia. Przykładowe metody leczenia zachowawczego mają na celu trening niezaburzonych funkcji poznawczych oraz zapobieganie długotrwałym skutkom unieruchomienia. Sprawowanie wydajnej opieki nad pacjentami z chorobą Alzheimera jest uzależnione od jej poziomu i jakości, a także od współpracy personelu medycznego w ujęcie holistycznym. Pełnoprawni opiekunowie zazwyczaj zmagają się z problemami na tle zdrowotnym (depresja, zespół wypalenia zawodowego), fnansowym (brak środków na utrzymanie chorego i własne), dlatego niezbędne jest zaoferowanie im różnorodnych metod wsparcia. Wskazanie docelowych punktów opieki długoterminowej na terenie Polski również należy uznać za niezbędne.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most frequently occurring dementia which afects people over 60. it is present worldwide and afects females more often than males. During nursing over the afected a lot of diferent problems arise including feeding, hygiene, relaxation, treating sores, self care and aggressive behaviors. The main reason for the problems is the progressive communication difculties and the progression of the disease itself. The symptom of the disease which makes nursing more troublesome is also the anxiety of the patients. The disorders mentioned above and additionally limited cognitive functioning have a negative infuence both on the patients themselves and the caretakers. Dealing with the problems ought to be aimed at the improvement of patients’ life quality and the rehabilitation used at diferent stages of dementia. Some examples of conservative treatment include training of unafected cognitive functions and preventing the efects of longer immobilization. Effcient nursing over the Alzheimer patients depends on its level and quality, as well as the cooperation of the whole health care team under the principles of a holistic approach. Legal guardians usually face health problems such as depression and professional burnout syndrome as well as financial problems as shortage of money for a living. Therefore, it is indispensible to ensure various supporting matters. it might also appear inevitable to suggest long drawn nursing homes for such patients in Poland.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono jeden z istotnych elementów logistyki w zarządzaniu kryzysowym, jakim jest przepływ informacji pomiędzy poszczególnymi podmiotami biorącymi udział w danej sytuacji kryzysowej. Właściwa wymiana informacji pozwala na skuteczny nadzór nad danym zdarzeniem, możliwość koordynacji całości działań związanych z reagowaniem na zagrożenie, rzetelność w jego dokumentowaniu, a także ciągłość jego obsługi. W aspekcie zarządzania kryzysowego ważny element stanowi wsparcie informatyczne dla obiegu tych informacji. W niniejszym opracowaniu wskazano narzędzie komputerowe - aplikacja e-CZK (elektroniczne Centrum Zarządzania Kryzysowego), które wykorzystuje do tych celów szczebel wojewódzki administracji państwowej.
In the article the most significant element of the logistics in the crisis management was presented, which is the distribution of information between the particular units which take part in the crisis situation. The appropriate information interchange allows to effective supervision under the incident, possibility of coordination under the whole actions connected with response to the threats, reliability in the documentation and also the continuity of threats service. In the aspect of the crisis management the significant element is the computer support of the information circulation. In the article the e-CZK computer application, which is used in the voivodship was shown.
