The aim of the paper is to present the assumptions of the project titled “Subsumption of education”, which has been implemented in the Institute of Education, Szczecin University since December 2013. In the first section, we draw attention to the need to reflect on the social, political, and ethical dimensions of the subordination of educational processes. Then, outlining theoretical perspective, we present the goals of our project. The final section indicates the research areas, topics discussed by the participants of the seminar. In conclusion, we present the expected results of work of the team involved in the project.

Let \(\mathrm{T}\) be the family of all typically real functions, i.e. functions that are analytic in the unit disk \(\Delta := \{ z \in \mathbb{C} : |z|<1 \}\), normalized by \(f(0)=f'(0)-1=0\) and such that Im \(z\) Im \(f(z)\) \(\geq 0\) for \(z \in \Delta\). Moreover, let us denote: \(\mathrm{T}^{(2)}:=  \{f \in \mathrm{T}: f(z)=-f(-z) \text{ for } z \in \Delta \}\) and \(\mathrm{T}^{M,g} :=  \{ f \in \mathrm{T}: f \prec Mg \text{ in } \Delta \}\), where \(M>1\), \(g \in \mathrm{T} \cap \mathrm{S}\) and \(\mathrm{S}\) consists of all analytic functions, normalized and univalent in \(\Delta\).We investigate  classes in which the subordination is replaced with the majorization and the function \(g\) is typically real but does not necessarily univalent, i.e. classes \(\{ f \in \mathrm{T}: f \ll Mg \text{ in } \Delta \}\), where \(M>1\), \(g \in \mathrm{T}\), which we denote by \(\mathrm{T}_{M,g}\). We consider the integral operator Jp,β,γ : Kp,β,γ: ⊂ ∑p → ∑p defined by [formula]. We introduce some new subclasses of the class ∑p, associated with subordination and superordination, such that, in some particular cases, these new subclasses are the well-known classes of meromorphic starlike functions and we study the properties of these subclasses with respect to the operator Jp,β,γ.

We determine coefficient estimates for α-spiral functions of order ϱ with respect to N-symmetric points (|α| = π/2, 0 ≤ ϱ = 1$ and N is a positive integer). Sharp coefficient bounds are also obtained for functions of the form $f(z)^{-t}$, where t is a positive integer and f(z) is an α-spiral function of order ϱ. Using this we deduce coefficient estimates for inverses of univalent α-spiral and meromorphic univalent α-spiral functions with vanishing early coefficients.

This paper addresses the issue of the historical development of for fear (that) in English – a prepositional subordinator ushering in finite clauses of purpose in which negation is inherently coded, i.e. the content of the subordinate clause is negated by the complementiser which does not contain a negative particle in itself. The rise of this construction is studied within the theory of grammaticalization and it turns out to be a regular case of grammaticalization following the mechanisms of grammaticalization such as desemanticisation, extension and decategorialisation.

The text attempts to resolve the narrative impasse perpetuating in analyses and reconstructions of the local humanities position in the field of local and supra-local competition. The basic proposal that can lead to the most sensible and credible debate in this matter is the preliminary establishment of the local representatives of (broadly understood) humanities beyond the standard narratives (progress, backwardness, worldliness etc.) and fantasies abundantly present in this discourse. This suggestion may be strongly uncomfortable for the actors acting in this field, but it seems that without undertaking such a confrontation these analyzes and debates will remain sterile, regardless of how instrumentally effective they may be in clashes between individual fractions within the local field of humanities.

Research of modern thesaurus of “coordination” concept and generalization according to deductive analysis of different scientific views allowed us to conclude that coordination should be considered in the form in which it acts at the level of management practice. In a specific manifestation in public administration, coordination is vigorous activity of the subject that stipulated the disclosure of its essence through the managerial relations thesaurus and its related categories: managerial interrelations, managerial interaction, managerial communications. It is proved that for the public administration system the most appropriate classification is the division of managerial relations, depending on the way of achieving the end result of public authorities staying in relations: subordinated, coordinative, reordinated.

The subject of the paper is the characteristics of employment subordination of an employee to the employer in labor relations. It is a necessary element of any labor relation. This subordination, as an essential feature of a labor relation, determines the scope of use of labor relation, and thus also the scope of application of the labor law. The author, presenting a traditional grasp of labor relation, notices in the literature on the subject substantial discrepancies in the interpretation, which refer not only to the way of its understanding but also the mutual relations which occur between the terms ‘subordination’ and the expression ‘employer’s management’, which is used by the legislator in the labor code. The author notices that the traditional grasp of the employment subordination does not always apply in reference to people who are charged with tasks requiring creativity, initiative and far-reaching independence (people employed at the most senior managerial posts, performing a creative job or rendering highly specialist services). The disappointment with the traditional grasp of the employment subordination in the case of the indicated category of subjects has become a substantial reason for the tendency to broadly interpret the employment subordination, which is present in the doctrine of labor law and judicature. As a consequence, new doubtful concepts of employment subordination relating to autonomous subordination and economical dependence have appeared.

Let $L_{n,p}(α) = {f: f ∈ Mₚ, Re{-(z^{p+1}/p) (Dⁿf)'} > α}$, α < 1, where $Dⁿf = (z^{n+p} f(z))^{(n)}/(z^p n!)$. Results on $L_{n,p}(α)$ are derived by proving more general results on differential subordination. These results reduce, by putting p =1, to the recent results of Al-Amiri and Mocanu.

Celem opracowania jest wykazanie, że podporządkowanie nauczycieli akademickich zatrudnionych na podstawie stosunku pracy nie jest wcale autonomiczne, mimo że powszechnie przyjmuje się, że ich praca charakteryzuje się dużym poziomem niezależności oraz trudno znaleźć tam elementy klasycznego podporządkowania. Okazuje się, że tradycyjny paradygmat pracy podporządkowanej sprawdza się także w odniesieniu do wykonawców twórczych, do których zalicza się również nauczycieli akademickich. Autor artykułu na przykładzie nauczycieli akademickich próbuje udowodnić, że pomimo dokonujących się zmian warunków społeczno-gospodarczych, postępującego rozwoju technologicznego oraz nowych form świadczenia pracy, nadal rola podporządkowania jako zasadniczej cechy odróżniającej stosunek pracy od innych prawnych stosunków zatrudnienia jest kluczowa, a kryterium to stanowi konieczną, najważniejszą konstrukcyjną cechę stosunku pracy i nie należy z niego w żadnym razie rezygnować.
The aim of the foregoing study is to show that the subordination of academic teachers employed on the basis of an employment relationship is not at all autonomous, although it is generally accepted that their work is characterized by a high level of independence and does not display elements of classical subordination. It turns out that the traditional paradigm of subordinate work also works well in relation to those pursuing creative careers, including academic teachers. Using the example of academic teachers, the author tries to prove that despite the changes in socio-economic conditions, progressive technological development and new forms of work, the role of subordination as an essential feature distinguishing the employment relationship from other legal employment relationships is still crucial, making this criterion a necessary, most important structural feature of the employment relationship which should not be abandoned in any case.

The article analyses the role of the Catholic Church as a deontic and epistemic authority. It discusses the problem of whether the Church’s authority undermines the autonomy of the conscience of the faithful. It then provides a justication for the thesis that while the Church wields authority in moral issues, its authority is of an epistemic nature.

Let P = (Pt)t≥0 be a sub-Markovian semigroup on L2(m), let β = (βt)t≥0 be a Bochner subordinator and let Pβ = (Pβ(t ))t≥0 be the subordinated semigroup of P by means of β, i.e. Pβ(s):= ∫∞(0) Pr βs(dr). Let φ:= (φt)t>0 be a P-exit law, i.e. Ptφs = φs+t, s,t>0 and let φβ(t):= ∫∞(0)φs βt(ds). Then φβ:= (φβ(t)t>0 is a Pβ-exit law whenever it lies in L2(m). This paper is devoted to the converse problem when β is without drift. We prove that a Pβ-exit law ψ:= (ψt)t>0 is subordinated to a (unique) P-exit law φ (i.e. ψ= φ β) if and only if (Ptu)t>0 ⊂ D(Aβ), where u = ∫∞(0)e-s ψ sds and Aβ, is the L2(m)-generator of Pβ.

The article presents the problem of objectification of Chinese women from the past to the present times. Objectification of women in China can be regarded as a total phenomenon since it regarded control over feminine bodies, will and spirit. From birth, women were strictly controlled and socialised accordingly. According to Confucian principles men were also supposed to show subordination to their fathers, superiors and rulers, however, looking from a historical perspective, it is clear that subordination of women permeated patriarchal Chinese society so deeply, that it took the form of objectification that influenced traditions, customs and mentality of the inhabitants of the Middle Kingdom.

The article deals with the nature of the political relationship between the Ottoman Empire and the Balkan states. The various forms of dependency led to varied limitations on the functioning of these states, especially in the field of their international politics. The Ottoman Empire's relations with weaker, allied, vassal and subordinate states were shaped by the following factors: the historical period, the political and legal nature of the mutual relations, religion, the current political and military situation. On the basis of analysis of the sources and scientific literature, it has been shown that the Ottoman Empire was unable to prevent more or less official policy by its subordinate centres, as long as they had any state structures (even if they were only of a self-governing nature). In the 14th century, most of the Balkan states found themselves as allies and tributaries of the Ottoman Empire. The alliance with the Ottomans did not limit political relations with countries uncommitted against the Ottomans. In the 15th century there was a process of more and more clearly political subordination of the Balkan states which added two important elements to earlier financial and military obligations - investment and obedience. In the 16th century, it was extremely important to surrender to the King of Hungary John Zápolya under the authority of Sultan Suleiman. It also resulted in the Ottoman Empire taking over direct political control of the Romanian principalities: Wallachia and Moldavia. The Sultan was not able to fully control them, they often carried out independent political activities, connected with the Poland-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Holy Empire, and Transylvania. In the 18th century the process of building the Balkan nation states launched, albeit very slowly. In the 19th century, any independence, even very limited, was conducive to the rapid formation of their own independent statehood.

In the paper we define classes of meromorphic multivalent functions with Montel’s normalization. We investigate the coefficients estimates, distortion properties, the radius of starlikeness, subordination theorems and partial sums for the defined classes of functions. Some remarks depicting consequences of the main results are also mentioned.

The foregoing study attempts to present the institution of the employee’s subordination in evolutionary terms. From the very beginning of the labour law, the criterion of subordination, defined mainly as submission of the employee to the authority of the employer in the work process, was described in the literature of the subject and judicial decisions as an inherent (necessary) constituent of the employment relationship (the most basic structural feature of that relationship), distinguishing it from other forms of employment, especially a relation under civil law. The author analyzes the approach of the legislature as well as the views of the labour law doctrine and judicature made in relation to this criterion over subsequent periods in history. Finally, the study is concluded with some de lege ferenda postulates as to how to shape the institution of employee’s subordination in the provisions of the labour law.
Przedmiotem niniejszego opracowania jest próba ukazania instytucji pracowniczego podporządkowania w ujęciu ewolucyjnym. Kryterium podporządkowania, którego istotą jest poddanie się pracownika kierownictwu pracodawcy w procesie wykonywania pracy, w literaturze przedmiotu i orzecznictwie sądowym od początku prawa pracy stanowiło nieodłączny (konieczny) element stosunku pracy (najbardziej podstawową konstrukcyjną cechę tego stosunku), odróżniający go od pozostałych form zatrudnienia, zwłaszcza tych o charakterze cywilnoprawnym. Autor analizuje sposób podejścia ustawodawcy oraz poglądy doktryny prawa pracy i judykatury formułowane w przedmiocie tego kryterium na przestrzeni kolejnych okresów historycznych. Rozważania kończą postulaty de lege ferenda co do sposobu ukształtowania instytucji pracowniczego podporządkowania w przepisach prawa pracy.

The article discusses the issue of functional and grammatical interpretation of the notions of supervision, subordination, and service, including uniformed services and forces. Interpretation of the above notions is considered in the context of the uniformed services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the author’s opinion, in the current legal orders, the existing dependence of the entities indicated in the article in terms of supervision and subordination on the minister responsible for internal affairs is not clearly defi ned and may cause diffi culties in its correct perception. The author highlights the fact that the mentioned issues have never been the subject of a deeper analysis both in literature and in doctrine. This may result from the fact that they concern a limited group of people who, due to the adopted hierarchy of government administration bodies, in principle recognize their subordination to the superior body. The fi nal part of the article is suggested as a starting point for a broader discussion on the necessary amendment to some applicable normative acts.
